MP3s open in smaller window

I know how to link to an MP3 and have it open in a separate
window, but how do I make it open in smaller pop-up window instead
of the full size that comes up with the Quicktime logo?? I tried
using an onClick Behavior to open in another window but it won't
work (tho that might be a Firefox issue, not sure).

Javascript Popups definitely work with FF...

i have attached syntax for a new weWindowUtilities function which will address the resizing issue when a New window (not a named window but a new un-named window) is opened. this means that when a New window is opened using the webelements target functions, you can then resize the new window and have no resizing issues.
please note that you need to use the weTargetPathExt function instead of weTargetPath if you want to specify the initial new window size. please see the weSubmitMethods report in the webelements 246 download for an example.
the syntax below will open a new window with a size of 500px X 500px. please see the user guide for more info on the wetargetpathext function.
stringvar item1:= WETargetPathExt ("rpt", "Name", "myreport", "", 500, 500, true, 400, 200, true, true, true, true, true, "");
WESubmit("cw1", "link", "Open Report in New Custom Window", item1, global stringvar fontlink);

Open in smaller window

I have created a few slideshows in Flash and when the link to
open them is clicked I need the slideshows to appear in a smaller
window, like a popup message.

Mp3 opens in new window ... can I control SIZE of window?

I am opening both an mp3 in a new window \ and a Quicktime movie. Two separate links. But both come up as a Safari window quite large. They can be immediately resized of course, but it will be annoying for the visitor to have to do so. I want the window to be the size of the element, more or less ... the mp3 a control bar in a little box, and the Quicktime in a box the size of the Quicktime frame.
Is there a way to have this happen without writing html into the iWeb code after-the-fact. I'm trying to show the client how easy it is to do his own website changes on the road. Writing html ain't going to turn his crank.

Java application window opening in small window

I have an application that is started from a .jnlp file. When I open the jnlp file, the app is installed and a shortcut to the app is placed on the desktop, and the app opens. The problem is that when the app starts, it flashes the window up taking the whole screen, then it resizes down to a small window (only big enough to see the menu items in the app) in the lower left side of the screen.
I have opened this same app on other systems and it does not exhibit this behavior. I have also seen this behavior on this system with both JAVA 6 and 7.
Here is a screen cap of the app as it opens:
I then have to resize the app by dragging the corner.
This is more of an annoyance than a real problem, but was wondering if anyone out there new of a way to correct this.

AWT creates this warning banner for every top level window created without the AWTPermission "ShowWindowWithoutWarning".
By default the jnlp sandbox will not include this permission.
If you sign you jars, and you jnlp file contains:
<security> <all-permission> </security>
you will have this permission (along with all others) and top level windows will not get the banner.

I try to make Dreamweawer to do next action when i click on

- open new small sized window that does not have any
navigation buttons from browser (back, forward, stop,...)
- in that window there should be only picture and some text

Dreamweaver CS5 opens in small window- can't enlarge or move it running on Win 7

This just started happening. I have a Win 7 OS. DW CS5 opens but it is a small minimized window and I can't enlarge it or move it. The controls work and I can open a document but can't do anything becuase I can't see it except for part of the first line.
Does anyone have any idea of what is causing this.

Mail messages open in small window

I am using Mail 6.6 on OSX 10.8.5.
When I open an email in a seperate window, I only get the header section of the email, and it always seems to open in the lower left of the desktop. I am able to move the message around the screen, and I am able to re-size the message window.
When I do this, subsegquent messages open fully.Then when I print a message, the next message I open is shrunk and appears in the lower left hand corner of the desktop.
Is there a solution?

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.

Clicking a link opens a smaller window, not a maximized window, how can I fix this?

When I click links that open in a new window, that new window is not maximized, like the browser window that I used to click the link. How can I fix this?
I prefer using new windows instead of new tabs, and I have been doing this forever. I had turned OFF the automatic updates for Firefox, but this newest update was installed anyway. If there is no setting to open all new links in windows the same size as the main window, is there an option to revert this update?

There is a feature in Firefox that forces window.open() to open in a new window.

Same window size should be default. It should open the window of the same size. Try to reset firefox if this is not happening. (about:support page > Reset)

When I hide menu bar, FF4 opens in small window instead of maximized

First, I looked through most of the recent questions looking for something similar. I would like to say that I love FF4, it made me sad to read all these angry rants ending with "I downgraded" or (shudder) "went back to IE".

When I attempt to Bookmark something I scroll over the small window that opens and it close's and doesnt let me choose what to name it or where to save it to.

Since I've updated whenever I try to bookmark something it opens the small window and then as soon as I mouse over it to type in a name or just generally move the mouse the box disappear's and bookmarks it, It refuses to let me choose a destination folder or change the name because as soon as I try to do either the box disappears.

apparantly starting firefox in safe mode revolves the issue but im not sure what is casuing it i have disabled all of the addons / extensions manually and it does the same as you said
however once i set it to safe mode it works
do you possibly use McAffee im trying to narrow down the causes

Windows Media Player always start in small window!!

I tried everything, I read everything but nothing, this stupid but also awesome program starts in small window!
Its only work the first time(open only the program, without any file, make it full, then close it and then only the first time opens in full screen, after that it will keep opening in small window again).
