MPLS scenario for enterprise/banks

Dear All,
I know mpls is good for SPs but how can we implement and justify mpls for an enterprise/banks with branches over 1k.
Is there any existing "private" mpls based enterprise network implemented for such a scenario and how is it justified besides using fast switching which cef can also achieve.

HI, [Pls Rate if HELPS]
Justify the MPLS VPN as scenario:
VPN services can be offered based on two major models:
Overlay VPNs, in which the service provider provides virtual point-to-point links between customer sites
Peer-to-peer VPNs, in which the service provider participates in the customer routing
About Overlay VPN's:
=====================
VPN is implemented with IP-over-IP tunnels:
Tunnels are established with GRE or IPSec.
GRE is simpler (and quicker); IPSec provides authentication and security.
VPN is implemented with PPP-over-IP tunnels.
Usually used in access environments (dialup, digital subscriber line).
Service provider infrastructure appears as point-to-point links to customer routes.
Routing protocols run directly between customer routers.
Service provider does not see customer routes and is responsible only for providing point-to-point transport of customer data.
About Peer to Peer VPN's:
===========================
The only difference is: Here the Service Provider participates in the Customer Routing. PE Router exchanges Customer routers through the core network.
How to treat VPN's:
=====================
Here you need to consider every branch router as CE ie., Spoke Router but not the application itself. If the application are hosted only @ HO means access will be easy.
If the applications are hosted @ various offices using of RD & RT Values in MPLS-VPN will help a lot in implementation.
How to Implement:
==================
You can implement using pure MPLS-VPN Services. The HUB can be implented and all SPoke are treated as CE Routers. The IPSec session are to be established as said before.
The SP will implement the VRF with FRD & RT Values. The same will be imported @ spoke locations to access the Servers @ HO.
Hope I am Informative.
PLS RATE if HELPS

  • MPLS Network for an Enterprise

    Hi,
I am desiging an MPLS network for an enterprise customer. He would like to have both L2 and L3 VPNs (EoMPLS and VPLS). Initially I thought of positioning ASR1000 but later I ruled it out as it does not support VPLS. So it comes down to 7600. Then I have seen that we have 67XX, ES20 and SIP400 line cards. So what should be my choice for CE facing and Core facing line cards to run all the MPLS services (including MVPN). The customer needs only 3 ports to the access and 1 port as uplink.
    Regards,
    Prakash

    Hi Prakash,
Definately go for the 7600 ES Line Cards:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps368/data_sheet_c78-570730.html
They look like more than enough to do the job for your requirements.

  • How to Create a Linked Subreport in Crystal Report for Enterprise

    Hi All
I am developing a monthly report grouped by cost centre, I want to create a second table for each cost centre showing year to date, underneath the monthly data for that cost centre.  My thoughts on how to achieve this is to create a linked subreport in the group footer of the cost centre grouping.  However every time I try to set this up the report crashes.  Am I doing something wrong, can this be done in crystal reports for enterprise?  Can anyone give me a pointer on how to set up a linked subreport so that it passes the particular cost centre the report is grouped upon into the subreport so it only shows data relevant to that cost centre?
Any help will be appreciated as I am going in circles at the moment.
    Thanks

    Hi Neil,
You are doing right. You can create linked subreport in crystal report for enterprise.  Please refer below link to see the elearning tutorial  in which a simiar scenario is explained step by step. Here its an unlinked subreport. Enable subreport filter to make it linked and try. It should work.

  • How to design a system for a bank?

The company I work for is about to design a system for a bank. This system will be used by office clerks to help their daily works. For example they can handle bank accounts, credit cards, credit products, loans, client data, stuffs like this. It's a kind of accountant system.
As I don't want to reinvent the wheel I'm sure there are several solutions for this problem. Patterns, case studies, books, real life stories. I'm looking for them.
Would you be so kind to recommend something I can use?

I don't know how big a company you're talking about.
I'd look into ERP systems like SAP,
Oracle/PeopleSoft, Great Plains, etc.The task is to implement a system with which we can help the for of the office clerks. So we don't have to implement a whole accountancy system from the beginning to the end we just have to implement some kind of frontend and services for the frontend. These services will be used by the frontend and will be connected to the accountancy system of the company ( legacy app written in Cobol ).
So I need some books, strategies, etc on how to implement, architect a tipical banking app. E.g. What does account (, banking products, loans ) really mean? What kind of tipical patterns should I use?
I've browsed the web, of course, and I have found "Enterprise Integration Patterns: Designing, Building, and Deploying Messaging Solutions" for example but I'm not sure this is the thing I need. I've found Martin Fowler: Analysis patterns ( closer to what I need, so I've bought it already ). For example that one has a lots of patterns I should use ( Account, Transaction, Accounting Practice ).
So I'm looking for something similar to the book "Analysis patterns" but with more with strategies and practical information on design and architectures as well.

  • Understand the technical base for Enterprise Services?

    Hi all,
I am trying to understand what is the technical base for enterprise services and the restrictions when activating them. The best documents I have found are:
Note 1566412 u2013 Enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0.
Note 1359215 u2013 Technical prerequisites for using enterprise services
sdn blog u201CDetermin the SOA readiness of your System with the ES Workplace (Part 1 and 2)
    EHP Master Guide - https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001183052011E
The documents are quite informative, however there are still questions. Maybe someone can shed some light of these:
1.) Is my understanding correct that Enterprise services can have three different base u201Cmodulesu201D?:
    a. An EHP (with relation to a business function).
    b. The swc u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D (without relation to a business function). E.G. ES Bundle "Bank Communication Management".
    c. The SWC u201CSAP APPLu201D (without relation to a business function). E.G. u201CBusinessPartnerERPUpdateRequestConfirmation_Inu201D
2.) Is it possible to activate enterprise services (bundles) that rely on business functions after a EHP installation or ONLY during the EHP installation?
3.) Is it possible to activate enterprise services with base u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D after a EHP installation or ONLY during the EHP installation?
4.) Is SWC u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D a u201Ctechnicalu201D business function, whose activation cannot be reverted either? If yes what effect has the activation von u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D on the current ERP customizing?
5.) How do the Enterprise Services relate with Service Interface definitions from SAP Process Integration (XI Content)?
Do I need the XI Content with the service interfaces in ES Repository (and SPROXY) only if the communication is B2B (with PI) or also if the communication is Point-2-Point (without PI)?
    Thanks for your feedback!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I'll try and provide answers where I can...
1.) Is my understanding correct that Enterprise services can have three different base u201Cmodulesu201D?:
I personally don't agree with this understanding. Enterprise Services would always relate to some or other business function, unless we have a different understanding of what "Business Function" means . What changes is how the Enterprise Services (or versions of them) are delivered.
SAP APPL for example would be relevant to most of the enterprise services shipped with a standard ECC EHP*. So it will relate to the business functionality for the applications that are shipped with an ECC installation.
2.) Is it possible to activate enterprise services (bundles) that rely on business functions after a EHP installation or ONLY during the EHP installation?
I don't understand this question but I'll try and offer a generic answer. You can activate/use Enterprise Services whenever you want to as long as they are already available in your current installation. If they are only available in an EHP that you don't have yet then you will need to upgrade (but I also seem to recall some workarounds - SAP notes - as an alternative to upgrading).
3.) Is it possible to activate enterprise services with base u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D after a EHP installation or ONLY during the EHP installation?
You decide when you would like to activate it, it's generally after. SAP will ship them anyway.
4.) Is SWC u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D a u201Ctechnicalu201D business function, whose activation cannot be reverted either? If yes what effect has the activation von u201CESA ECC-SE 60xu201D on the current ERP customizing?
There is a tool call Impact Analyzer, read up a little on it. It allows you to do an impact analysis before activating. It might also help posting a separate thread on of the ECC functional forums here on SCN for more impact analysis. I'm not sure if the activation can be reverted.
5.) How do the Enterprise Services relate with Service Interface definitions from SAP Process Integration (XI Content)?
The XI Content is the design equivalent of the Enterprise Services as you see them in SPROXY. It's only relevant in certain cases, examples:
    - If you want to enhance standard SAP Enterprise Services
    - If you want to do additional transformation/s & routing.
If you are planning P2P type communication, then the XI content is not relevant. One thing to be aware of though is if you have your backend ECC system connected to your PI ESR, the view that you get in SPROXY will reflect the SWC view of the ESR. So you might want to download the XI Content & import it into your PI ESR anyway.

  • ECC6 V_TIBAN Transport for House Banks IBAN

    Hi SAPer,
I wonder if you have experienced this.
As I am now implementing ECC6 and  trying to transport IBAN for house bank account.
The IBANs are stored in the application table TIBAN ane even though I
transport House Banks, NO IBANs were transported
As 4.7 or before, I would normally  use transaction SM30, enter the table V_TIBAN and transport, which is OK because it set as maintenance is allowed
However, in ECC6 system, V_TIBAN does only have "Display/Maintenance only allowed with restriction" hence am not able to SM30 transport. The change in View setting appears to be out of SAP box.
Would any of you shed some light on how I would be able to work around this?
    Thanks for your tips
    taro

    Hello,
We have ECC 6.0 and is able to create entry in V_TIBAN successfully.
Please go to SE11 > View V_TIBAN. Go to tab "Maintainance Status"
In "Access" part, radio button selected should be "Read, Change, Delete, INsert"
In "Delivery Class" it should be "A Application table (master and transaction data)"
In "Data Browser/Table View Maint" it should be "X Display/ Maintainance Allowed"
However if your setting is different, then you must have a support pack restricting the access to V_TIBAN in SM30. See the below OSS note 983944, which provides and alternative in such scenario:-
    [https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=983944]
    This should solve your issue.

If there is any document like this type of company sauté for the marketing and like this type of company suites for the service modules like that.
this  is sivaanjith this is my  please help me to come out of this confusion.
    Reards.
    siva anjith

    hi
well talking about the implementation project in CRM
let us assume we are implementing it in BANKING industry
here the requirement is in improvement in the field processing and all the effeciency of the sales or feet on street
so we implement the CRM marketing with CIC
what it will do that we start with first the readiness document that what all are the requirement of the bank and how the company can cope it with the help of CRM
then we prepare the BLUEPRINT to state that the data to be processed will be strucutured in CRM in how many phases or the timely schedule of the roll over of CRM in bank
next up we start with the configuration ,like we have to start campaigns and generate leads for the banks which may get converted into the opportunities
so have to do all the configuration of CRM according to the requirements being given
one thin g i forgot which is very imp is that we do requirement gathering, its pretty imp part of entire process
after getting these only we can do whatever we want with CRm
so after that we realise the configuration in realisation phase then we do those UATs and SITs
this way we phase out the CRM in any sector
    just a gist of everything
    hope i cleared some air

  • Developement XI-Content for Enterprise Services

    Hi,
What is XI-Content? And what must be defined in XI-Content for Enterprise Service Enabling?
We have defined some services as provider, these services are goint to be in XI-Content. But we are also requesting some infromation to business partner, these inforamtion could be services or messages in case our partner does not have services.
So my feeling is: in XI-Content we need to define:
    Interfaces for the services which we provide;
Interfaces which we as consumer request?
Interfaces which from partner as provider?
Interfaces for the messages which are sending from partner?
Mapping between the service interfaces (provider <->consumer)
Mapping between the messages and the services?
I am sorry, but this is really confusing when we plan the development of XI-content.
Could you give me a clear picture or guideline according to your experience?
    Thank you very much.
    Jing

This XI content is nothing but most commonly used integration scenarios for address specific business process requirements for a particular landscape. For Ex:Interface for Creating PO ,Sales Order etc.
I have read many articles which say that XI Integration Repository will be re-named as Enterprise Service Repository which will enable the customers to kick-start with Enterprise Services.SAP sets the ball rolling by providing 500 Enterprise Services.
As far as I understand these services are nothing but commonly used re-usable integration scenarios which are powered by Webservices.Enterprise Service Granularity depends on how you define your "Service".
You have an awesome article on ESA which explains in an excellent way.
Search the sdn for Enterprise Service Design Guide which can be an answer all your questions.

  • Win 10 TP for enterprise build 9860

win 10 TP for Enterprise build 9860 can not activate now, try again later. how can I get it activated?

    Hi,
Based on what I know, Window 10 Technical Preview will be activated automatically when we  have Internet connection.
Please check if the following steps would help in your scenario:
    1. Open Administrative command prompt (Windows key+x > A)
    2. Type: SLUI 3
    3. Enter the product key Microsoft provided for recovery scenarios: PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK
If the above steps won’t work, please try to rebuild the Tokens.dat file with the following steps:
    1. net stop sppsvc
    2. cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WSLicense
    3. ren tokens.dat tokens.bar
    4. net start sppsvc
    5. cscript.exe %windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs /rilc
    6. After that, try to activate Windows again using the SLUI command.
If still can't activate Windows, please consider to make a phone call to Microsoft:

  • How to create a test scenario for Extended receiver agreement

    HI, experts,
I tried to create a test scenario in PI7.1 / Intergration Builder, I already defined 3Operation mapping and 3Message mapping in Enterprise Builder and test good.
1 Operation mapping is reading input, and output in "ReveiverDetermine" structure.
other 2 mappings are real mapping program.
My question is how to create test scenario for it? I know I should create a "Receiver Determine" with "Extended" option, however can anybody point out a good guide with details?
    thanks!

    Hi,
    >>Hence I created 2 MM/OM and one OM/MM (OM3) which uses ReceiverDetermine structure as the target.
You need to create only one OM (add one source interface and two target interface in this)  and in that use one MM (add source MT and add the 2 receiver MT in the signature tab of the MM )
    >>One bussiness component
One BC for Source and One for target
    >>One Receiver Determine (set extended option and select the OM 3 ?)
    Yes
    >>One sender aggrement
    Yes
    >>Two or Tree Receiver aggrement
    Two Receiver Agreement
Also check this wiki page for step-by-step guiide

  • Acrobat XI Pro Install via CCP Packager for Enterprise unuseable - tips for the unitiated

Well, after at least six weeks of trying to script and package Acrobat XI via the CCP packager for enterprise (Windows 7 X64) I have learnt many home truths which I thought I would share with the unitiated. This process, from the point of view of an IT admin who has to mass deploy this application to 680 PC's as part of an updated SOE has been the most painful scripting process I have ever found of any package (we successfully deploy Office, and Autodesk apps!). Not only that, but our entire State technical colleges have all purchased the same version. This will be affecting IT staff across a huge area, perhaps worldwide. Below are some some facts relating to this that I will share so others do not have to trawl the minefiled of dead-ends and confusion that is Adobe forums/official documentation. Apologies for not finding direct links to all of the below just yet but I've run out of time as we now have MANUALLY install Acrobat XI on all of these machines. When I get time I will post some of the links:
    Facts:
Acrobat XI and Lightroom are NOT "CC" packages. Therefore they rely on a spearate serial numbers to install standalone without another major Adobe product (eg Photoshop) to be installed and then run first. Otherwise they will run in trial mode. If your organistaion is wanting to install these products I highly recommend seeing if Adobe can provide you with these.
Without the use of serial number for Acrobat XI this almost renders the Customisation Wizard effectively useless, none of the silent install switch will work with "Offline Exception"
Yes, one Adobe employee notes that you must install a major package before Acrobat but as the aoplogies for not fixing this were posted last August, we are still in the quandry of not having any useable fix except for the ridiculous "Exceptions" file and Exceptions installer.
If you run the Build and/or execeptions msi's it installs Acrobat twice, gold Adobe, gold.
http://forums.adobe.com/message/6039529#6039529 - look at this for a working script for Photoshop etc, it's great. Thanks to http://forums.adobe.com/people/PetriRiihikallio for posting this. However, alas, it cannot silently install Acrobat correctly (thus far).
It appears that the msi builder for CCP for enterprise is fatally flawed. I have never had as much problem with installing msi's -  ever. For example, I have had to re-package the msi multiples times and many times simply running the msi will fail.
The idea that all major installs have to install the 32 bit version AND the 64 bit version is riduclous, enough said.
http://blogs.adobe.com/acrolaw/2013/02/acrobat-xi-deployment-guide-for-large-firms/ this guide may be useful for people who have been given a separate serial number.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/known-issues-acrobat-xi-reader.html another useful link
I think for the time being I have now wasted enough time trying to tear my hair out with this. I will be waiting for Adobe to announce Acrobat and Lightroom CC. this will enable the correct deployment of a single app without having the bloat my SOE with unnecessary applications that most staff rarely use. Ahhh, I love a good manual install via VNC/RDP, don't you?

Hi Waltpenner and others, yes it can be very confusing and writing script after script got me even more confused.
Now, the story continues, after 6+ hours on the phone with Adobe Support...
When you install Adobe Acrobat XI it asks you to install the C++ Redistributable package and this is where the msi will STOP INSTALLING. even though the MSI says "complete"
Now you think to yourself, OK, I'll write a script to install this msi package no problems, solved.
Nope, the msi for Acrobat Pro XI will Still Halt even if you write this into the script along with halt no err or something similar in your code.
    So what do you do?
When you create your msi in Cloud Packager, even though this feels completely against your better judgement tick the box under conflicting Process entitled "Ignore Conflicts and Continue installations" This will (finally) allow you to run the msi. Please see the wonderful deployment script above, which you may still need to edit to your needs (I did) - which I post once it's working perfectly.
You could then install the C++ redist from Microsoft at a later date ----> On that note however (thanks Microsoft for this gem) the Visual C++ redist is an msi for download, but it's actually a zip file calling an exe inside it. I suggest using the App Deploy Repackager  to help you change registry entries if you need to install this, but choose your favourite tool (and no I'm not talking about that work colleague you don't like
Note: You will need to install this for certain features of Acro Pro XI to function, most of which relates to sever functions of Acrobat. I will post the exact reasons when I find them. Under pressure to get this deployed, I have not deployed this pckage as yet. Also, I'm unsure how Visual C++ will affect other major apps across my enterprise just yet.
    Things to still consider
Acrobat still installs twice in the program directory (1.7GB nd 1.8GB respectively)
As all of the other CC packages are quite easy to install, Adobe needs to provide better service to it's enterprise customers by creating a proper version of Acrobat and Lightroom which is Acrobat CC and Lightroom CC, not version numbers tacked onto their new Cloud Service.
As for the above point I would still recommend creating the smallest msi packages you can, as large msi's that install a number of Apps (eg all of the web/image editing apps) take forever and quite often exhibit install errors
The amount of time I've spent on this is ridiculous, and we've had to package everything from Office to Autocad.
The amount of bandwidth I've chewed up is excessive, with package re-creation (download) of all the products probably about 100GB - however the ability to edit these packages with updates with the CCP is a good step forward.
Using the CCP through a proxy is horrendous, and complicated with the amount of exception through the servers you have to prvide (even then it rarely works).
The MSI packager still needs quite alot of work. As Petri states why he had to write a script like this when Adobe could have done the same thing is beyond him.
Adobe needs to trawl it's forum posts and take out the many false leads and dead ends provided by it's experts.
When I Think of anything else, or wite more scipts I'll let you all know.
    Cheers,
