MRP and BOM

Hi,
Can anyone tell me..that Can we ren MRP at different levels of BOM??
Regards,
Krish

Hi Krish
It is possible to Run Mrp at different levels of the BOM, By
<u>Single item, Single Level Planning</u> :
This type of  planning only involves the planning of one individual material. Single-level means that planning is carried out without BOM explosion and that, therefore, planning is only carried out at one level.( Say at the header level)
You may follow the path : Spro --> Production --> Material Requirements Planning --> Planning -->Single item, Single Level
<u>Single Item, Multi Level Planning</u>
During single-item, multi-level planning, the system explodes the bill of material for a material and generates dependent requirements for assemblies and components. These components are also planned to cover dependent requirements. If the components also have BOMs, the system explodes these BOMs too and plans the components. The system repeats this process until all BOM levels have been exploded.
This Planning can be done in the transaction  code -- MD02

  • Without MRP, with BOM explosion

    Hi,
I'm new to SAP and learning SAP SCM. I would like someone to brief me on what the following lines imply, especially 'without MRP, with BOM explosion'.
"dependent requirements must be determined for materials that are planned in SAP ECC. So, you assign the MRP type “X0” with MRP procedure “X” (“without MRP, with BOM explosion”) to the materials planned in SAP SCM."
    Thanks,
    Krish

    Hi,
Without MRP , with BOM explosion - means the dependent requiremens are created for this materials from APO.
The MRP will not run in APO. Only the dependent requirements will be created from APO. The MRP for this materials will be executed the ECC or R/3 system to create planned order anb purchase requisitions.

  • How MS/MRP  and Oracle ASCP will work for Manufracturing for a Item 'PEN' .

    Hi All,
I am having oracle MS/MRP and Oracle ASCP.
I want to manufrature item as PEN. All items are buy items
Can any one tell here how MS/MRP & ASCP will work to manufrature a pen.
What will be the flow of these 2 modules?
    Thanks,
    Edited by: user11362919 on Jul 9, 2009 1:11 AM

    Hi
If I understand your qn correctly you are asking about a writing pen ?
Lets say it has parts like pen body, refill, top and cap all these items will have ''buy souricng rules''.
Based on demand for the end item ''Pen'' AsCP will explode BOM for the Pen and suggest supplies as planned orders for the components , which can be converted to Std PO or BPA release automatically. All that MRP module could be of use to you is to define Forecast demand for the item.

  • MM and BOM

    Hi,
I have a doubt in MM and BOM, If I have a material A and this one is sometimes In House and sometimes is in Subcontract, can I have 2 BOM´s and choose in some field in MM.
    Material A= C+ B
    Material A: MM->F/SM->BOM 1->IR
    Material A:MM -> E(In house)->BOM 2->Routing
    Material C: F/SM
    Material B: E In house
    Is possible?
My problem is, i have to change often the BOM because the material change: in house to Subcontract and Subcontract to In house every week.
    Thank´s
    Lecticia

    Hi,
For this, you can use Production Version Method
Production version can be maintained in the material master(MRP 4) view
Click on production version, you will get the pop up screen enter 3/4 digit version no &description
    Click on details button
here give the routing(under planing data) & BOM information(under Bill of material)
then click on check button to verify whether the entered data are consistent
You can also maintain in C223 tcode
If the production order is created by converting from planned order, system will auto select the PV. If you create manually then it will put a pop up box. Alternatively you can change the PV in the planned order.

  • MRP and MPS

    Hi,
what is the main difference between MRP and MPS ?
    Regards

    Hi,
The task of material requirements planning is to guarantee material availability. The system calculates which materials must be procured or produced at what time and in what amounts so as to provide the quantities required.
Using MPS you can carefully plan important parts or bottleneck parts in a separate planning run at the highest BOM level before the planning results have an effect on all of the production levels.
Lead time scheduling and the calculation of capacity requirements in MRP and MPS provide the basis for the creation of a master plan that corresponds to capacity planning. This way the MRP controller obtains information about possible bottlenecks and overloads. Before the master plan becomes effective and the planning results affect subordinate BOM levels, the MRP controller can make changes that affect capacity for chosen materials.
    Scheduling:
Before capacity planning can take place you must create capacity requirements within lead time scheduling, that is, determine the production dates. The system only generates capacity requirements if it executes lead time scheduling using the times specified in the routing.
Scheduling in MRP and MPS determines the basic dates and the production dates for the planned order. The basic dates define the earliest and latest dates for production. The production dates use the times in the routing to determine the start and finish of production as well as of the individual operations.

  • Subcontracing charges and BOM structure.

    Dear All,
In the subcontracting scenaro , Subcontracting charges does't depends neither on  UOM of the material nor conversion factor is fixed of Material Base UOM with Pricing unit .
for example , price depends upon the operation performd on sheet. If sheet is to be cutted into many peices , so on this sheet 5 operations has to be performed and price is fixed operation wise.
    Now confusion is
1.)how to give  price in the subcontracting PO.
2.) and what should be BOM structure in this scenario.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nitin Chhabra

I assume from your question that you do not know the subcontractor price when you place the purchase order.  Based on this your subcontractor info record and BOM should reflect "typical values".  On placing the order you will need to find out the exact amount of material to be issued and manually adjust the purchase order BOM, then allow enough tolerance to except the variance in quantity received and invoice value.

  • Difference between Free goods and BOM (ERLA)

    Hi,
Could any body throw some light on the Difference between Free goods and BOM(ERLA) to clarify my weired thought.
AS of what i know is Free goods is 1:1 ratio.
The main item will be prices and sub item will be free .
Than same thing is also With BOM (ERLA)
    Regards,
    Venksys

    Hi Venksys
Please note as given below :
Free Goods : This function allows you to offer your customers a product free of charge in the form of free goods when a certain quantity of products is ordered. Free goods is a kind of quantity discount, and is granted in the form of a goods delivery that is free of charge when a certain quantity is purchased. There are Two types of free goods :
1.Inclusive : The customer only pays for part of the goods ordered. The rest of the products are provided at no extra cost. For example, a customer orders  for 3 bottels but pays for 2 bottels  and 1 is supplied free .
2.Exclusive - The customer pays for the goods ordered, and also receives additional products for free. The materials delivered as free goods will not be the same as that of ordered onces. For examples customer orders 5 bottels , but will receive 1 Bottle opener free.
BOM : It consists  of 2 or more items combined and sold as an package : Example : Combination of 1 Tooth paste  + 1 tooth brush  packed as BOM.
The Higher level Material ( BOM) is  not relevant for pricing but relevant for picking : The tooth paste and brush is relevant for pricing  and also can be sold independently : The Item cat group of the Header BOM material will be ERLA  and for Tooth paste and brush material the Item category group will have TAN.

  • MRP and Inventory psoting list

    Hello
    2 questions
when we run MRP and ask to take into account the open purchase order we have recommendation without open purchase quantity taken into account and all purchase orders open are made in 2009
Could it be because of the new year ?
Second question in item screen we right click and have for each item the option to see posting list but since 1st of January teh posting list is without stock movements and does not show 2009 movements
Do you know if we can somehow define the dates where the posting list is shown ? They want to see obviously stocks movements from 2009
Thank you for your help in advance

If your financial year ends on the 31st of December then the short cut from Item Master Data will not show the previous financial years transactions.  This is standard B1 functionality and you cannot define the dates.
You can run the full Stock Postings list from the Reports menu and this will give you all transactions.
In your MRP you must make sure that the From Date includes all the purchase orders in the previous year.  For example if your oldest purchase order is 01.10.09 then your start date in horizon for MRP should be 01.10.09.  This will put all your purchase orders in the Past Due section but will include them in all calculations for ordering stock.

  • Q4_How to manage software material and BOM in SAP_High-tech Industry PLM Implementation Issues

    Hello,
We are implementing SAP PLM for a high-tech company which designs and manufactures mobile phones (ODM). Since we are new in PLM consulting and we are facing with some implementation difficulties, we are looking for some solutions here.
Question 4: How to manage software material and BOM in SAP?
Currently, software are not managed as material in the BOM.  How to manage software material in PLM, can anyone help us with some suggestions.
Question 5: PADS integration with PLM.
Currently, customer is using Pro/E and PADS to design their product. SAP has already provided standard interface for Pro/E integration. But for PADS, there is no such interface. Because of the specialization of electrical components managed in PADS, different from structural parts in Pro/E, how to transfer them between PLM system and manage them in the PLM system has become an difficulty. We will appreciate a lot if anyone can share us with some successful solutions.

    Hi,
software, typically a released version of software, is typically managed as a normal material master, and a related document with the code as a package (e.g. ZIP), if really needed.
Software in development is managed typically with a dedicated Software Configuration Management tool like Rational ClearCase, Subversion, MKS Integrity, ....

As I understand for Quartz, I think you should create a security subject for it in your code. I guess the background tasks in Quartz work in separate threads. It is not recommended in EJB application. you can use EJB timer service instead.

  • MRP and log of results

    Hello Experts,
When I run MRP, I get a message like ie "10 requisitions have been created". Where can I see a list those requisitions?
I am looking for a log of what happened in the MRP run to look into the details of which documents where created and deleted and so on
    rgds
    GAR

    Hi,
You can see the list of purchase requistions created in two ways..
In ME5A, Give the release date(date on which you ran MRP) and enter the other inputs..
It will give the desired outout.. You can give MRP controller also to narrow your search..
    Another way is...
MD04. For the material which ou ran MRP , Check in MDO4..
It ll give you planned orders. Click that planned order and click  the icon forpegged req in the small window.. It ll give the list of planned orders and Purchase req. under that final material..
You can then select the planned orders that came under the final material..In a similar way as above you can proceed to get the list of all the purchase reqns..
    Hope the above definitely claifies..
    with wishes....

  • How to create items and BOMs using web services

    Hi All,
I need to create, change and read Items and BOMs through web services (using SOA Gateway, right). I found this one here: "Process Item (convenience wrapper version)" or "Process Item" within
    Internal Name     EGO_ITEM_PUB
    Type               PL/SQL
    Product          Advanced Product Catalog
    Status          Active
    Business Entity     Catalog Item
Right now, I don't know how to use it. If somebody has a simple example to create a single item, this would be perfect! Which one would be the right one to read detailed information about an existing item?
The second object I need to maintain (create, change and read) is BOM. Which API can I use here?
btw: I use EBS 12.1.1 on windows.
    Many thanks,
    Konrad

    Hi!
Thanks for your quick answer but unfortunately, I must admit that I'm an absolute beginner with Oracle and EBS and so things like:
Enable trace and generate the tkprof file or open the form using forms builder to get the name of the API used in thta screen.or
Please check e-trm site for your question do not help me to much :-(
    Any other advice?

  • HELP - MRP and Stock in subcontractor!

    Hello SAP gurus,
I have a little problem with MRP and the stock in the subcontractor.
    This is the scenario:
    PLANT..........MRP ELEMENT..........QUANTITY
    2100.............Free Stock..................500UN
    2100.............Reser..........................700UN
    2100.............PurRqs........................200UN
And I the stock in the subcontractor for the same material is 300UN...
Why is MRP creating a PurRqs instead of a stock transfer from subcontractor.
The Scope of check is considering subcontractor stock...
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Adelmo Silva

    Hi,
As i Know MRP will  not Consider , the Stock Available at Subcontractor. During the Net requirement calculation it will consider teh stock available at Plant. That is why it would have created PR.
During material Availabilty check it will consider as per settings at Scope of the Check.
One more Option is MRP area for the subcontractor , for More details please refer below SAP help.
