MS-DOS 와 MS-WINDOWS 의 PRO*C

Subject: Pro*C on MS-DOS and MS-Windows PlatForms
====================================================
1. Support of Oracle 6.0 indicates that your applications will work
against an Oracle 6.0 RDBMS(or Oracle 7 Server functionality is
used,i.e., only V6 type calls are made).
However, the reverse is not true.
Oracle 7 applications cannot be run against Oracle 6.0
2. Some of the C (or C++) compilers listed above are capable of generating
C++ code as straight C.
You must put all C++ code in one file and all PROC/C code in another,
then link these two modules.
PROC can only generate straight C code and not C++ code.
Include of C++ code in PROC modules is not supported.
3. Pro*C 1.5.9 and later do not support MS C7.0
4. User Exit support for Oracle Forms 4.0, Oracle Reports 2.0 and
Oracle Graphics 2.0 are provided through Pro*C 1.5 only.
These User Exits may be compiled and linked with Visual C++ 1.0 or 1.5 only
(you cannot use the Borland compiler)
5. Pro*C 1.5.9 applications are built entirely in DOS protected mode and
hence require the use of SQLPME.
Pro*C 1.5.10 applications are built in the MS-Windows environment.
6. Pro*C 1.5.10 onwards is now two separete products, one for Windows and
one for DOS.
The Windows version runs completely under MS-Windows and has a GUI(no
command line) interface.
The DOS version will use the same DOS command line interface as previous
version .
Pro*C 1.5.10 is not yet available on DOS.
7. If you have any questions or concerns about future release of Pro*C please
contact your Oracle representative.
Oracle Customer Support does not have information on future releases.

Can you drill down into ''drive'':\Users\''username'' and then paste (or type) this:
cd AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
In that folder, if you dir, you will see one or more semi-randomly-named folders. If you plan to copy a folder out to some removable media, I suggest grabbing the whole thing if you can. If you need to fish around for files, this article lists the important ones, and you also can look for the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • Very disapointed in Lenovo's service on my T430 machine type 2342CTO with Windows Pro 7 64 bit

I have been a ThinkPad user since the first model 700.  I have always liked them and when I have had to use other laptops I found them inferior.  However one thing my team has been telling me in the past year or two is that they do not want to purchase anymore Lenovo ThinkPad's.  They have told me that the service and support has been greatly degraded.  I was hesitant to agree with them until my present experience.  We purchase all of our ThinkPad's with a 4 year on-site warranty.  We have people who are in the field and when their computer goes down we need to get it back up and running ASAP.
Three weeks ago my hard drive started to give me some problems and  one day after shutting down the computer a message came up that it needed to run Checkdisk which it did.  I was able to keep it going and I did have a backup.   I contacted  the 800 number to talk with a service person and they ordered up service for the replacement of the hard drive and also to replace the fan and sent me the system disks for the T430.  Two days later the insight service person showed up with the parts.  The disks showed up as well via UPS.  The service person replaced the fan and the HDD.  There were 4 DVD's for the system disks.  He started the rebuild and asked if I could finish it and I said I could with no problem.  He left.  I continued the process.  After the 3rd DVD it asked to put in the 4th and when I did a message said that this was the wrong DVD.  I tried all the other 3 with the same response.  I tried building it from scratch again and the same problem.  I called support again and the guy I spoke with thought that I must have a bad DVD and he would send out another set.  That set of 4 DVD’s arrived the next day which I was very thankful for.  He told me that they could only guaranty 2 days.  I thought OK we should be up and running shortly.  The same problem occurred again.  Bear in mind that both sets of these DVD's were all labeled for the ThinkPad T430 machine type 2342 which was my laptop and for Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I called Lenovo and this time the tech I spoke with said that there was another set of Disks for my machine that should have been sent.  Of course I was frustrated but there was not a lot I could do about that and I asked if they could make sure that they were overnighted to me so that I would be sure to get them on the next day which was Thursday.  He told me that he could not do that, that they could only guaranty 2 day. I called the next morning to get the tracking number which they gave me and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday which I was very thankful for.  That was Good Friday.  However UPS had some severe weather at their hub in Kentucky and everything was delayed and the disks did not show up until Monday.  I had now been down a whole week from my first call the Monday before.
The new set of disks was 3 DVD’s labeled for the T430, Machine type 2342 and Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I started the build process.  It continued to work but I made a mistake in the order of disks so I thought that these disks have a problem too.  I called Lenovo and they said that I should just send the system in for depot repair.  I said that will take at least until probably Thursday.  The guy I was speaking to said that I should have it back by Wednesday.  I asked if there was any way that I could send it to them directly that day.  He said no I could not, I had to wait for a box.  I asked if there was anyway to expedite the process and he spoke to his manager and his manager said that the level of service that was on the machine would not allow for any faster service.  The also told me that my service contract would allow me to take it to an authorized Lenovo service center around me.  I said to him that they probably have a queue as well and that I will have to wait for that.  As an aside note we did try service like this with one of our other ThinkPad’s that had a problem and the place messed up the system and we ended up at the end of the day having to send it to their depot for repair.  I hung up and though let me try these disks one more time.  I did and I saw my mistake and the system loaded up the DVD’s properly.  I was getting excited that I could be up and running shortly.  However my excitement was short lived.  Once it started to reboot and expand the installation the drive failed and said that it had to run Checkdisk.  It did and once again there were all kinds of orphaned files etc.  I had to reboot and run it from the DVD’s again and I went through the whole process once again.  The system went into a complete failure and would not do anything.  I called back support with my case # and gave them this information.  The box came the next day and I packed it up and sent it off.  I then started tracking it and it arrived on Wednesday as expected.  Then I wanted to go to the site and track the progress of the repair.  The document you have to fill out and send back with the system gives information on where to go on the web to track the process.  My shows that it arrived on Wednesday 4/8 as expected.  The first message shows “Machine being repaired” at 08:52.  Then I checked later in the early evening hoping to see shipped back to customer.  However what I did see was the following message “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  Then I kept tracking it and saw another entry on 4/10 at 02:01:54 which was the same “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  That was of course Friday.  I called the service and they told me that they were waiting on parts which they could not tell me what parts and that there was nothing that they could do.  I then asked if there was anyway to expadite this and the girl I spoke to said that she would seek to accelerate this to another level and that I would get a call from Lenovo in the next 2 to 3 business days!  I said to her that you really mean that that is accelerating it and she said yes.  Yesterday I received a call from an automated attendant, not a real person who told me that they were waiting on parts for my computer and that it could be “5 to 7 business days before they receive the part”.  I could not believe this.  I called again today 4/15 and asked if anyone could tell me the status because the website told me very little.  I told the girl that I was speaking to that I had received this automated attendant telling me that a part would take 5 to 7 business days more.  I asked her if Lenovo kept parts and she said yes but that this part was not in stock.  I asked her what the part was and she was able to find that it was the main system board that had to be replaced.  I said you have already had the unit for 1 week now at depot repair and never mind the fact that I have been without my computer for 2.5 weeks.  She told me that there was nothing she could do and that I had to wait on the part.  That is where this case sits at present.
I am very very unimpressed with Lenovo’s service.  And furthermore there is no one to talk to about it at Lenovo who gives a care.  I really did not know where to air my grievances with how this case is being handled.  I thought maybe the forum would be a place.  At least others will learn of my dilemma and maybe others have experienced the same thing.
I still like my ThinkPad but the service of Lenovo has become very poor at best.  The guy that is my technical manager has had a poor experience of late ordering up some other Lenovo products and he does not want to purchase anymore and these were for new product.  They sent the laptop with the wrong software loaded and then said no problem we will send you a new set of disks to load.  He refused and said you have to fix this because it was Lenovo’s mistake.  It takes time to load software and time is money.  I believe we will be leaving the Lenovo field if things continue.  I hope and trust that others will not experience the same treatment as I/we have.  I wonder if Lenovo will even respond to this post.

I had a real problem with wireless performance on multiple ThinkPads with Win7 until I realized there is a new (or maybe changed implementation) power setting in Win7 which was affecting it.
If you go into Control Panel -> Power Options and click "Change plan settings" for your current power plan.
On the next screen click on "Change advanced power settings"
On the next screen expand "Wireless Adapter Settings" and then "Power Saving Mode"
Make sure it is set to Maximum Performance.
Not sure if this will help your particular problem but hope it does.

  • Windows Pro 8.1 Hyper-V enabled - cannot connect to Virtual Machines

I'm running Windows Pro 8.1. Virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Account is in Admin, Hyper-V, RDP groups. I open Hyper-V manager. Create a new Virtual Switch (internal) and name it. Then create a new virtual machine - name it, place it in a folder under
C:, Specify Generation (tried both 1 and 2), startup memory 512mb not dynamic, Lan- select the virtual switch created earlier, create an vhdx hard disk, and install the O.S. from an ISO on C. Creates the new VM under Virtual Machines.
I select the new VM, click connect, then start. A window opens with the new VM on server and says it's connecting to it and it's status is Running. In the Hyper-V manager  in the New Virtual Machine pane (bottom pane) it shows a image that
appears to have a login screen. The VM window that displays the "Connection to" eventually throws an error : Virtual machine connection: Cannot connect to the virtual machine, Try to connect again. contact your admin, Try again etc. selecting connect
eventually errors out with check integration services etc. I've read the logs, there are no errors. When I try to shut down or turn off the vm it doesn't respond. I've configured this before on different boxes. It's the work environment for the MCSA 70-462
training kit Preparation. any direction would be greatly appreciated.

That is correct.  This has been well documented.
The WMI namespace changed.  2008 and 2008 R2 now of the v1 virtualization namespace.  2012 knows of both v1 and v2.  And 2012 R2 only knows the v2 virtualization namespace.
That said, there is more to this.
2008 management console only knows 2008 features.  So if you connect it to a 2012 server to manage the 2012 server, you cannot manage any of the features released with 2008 R2 nor 2012.
So, take this second point, mix it with the first point and I recommend that your management server / client release matches the release of the Server you are managing.

Use the no_screen parameter in your host command.
Note that you will have to rewrite this stuff differently if you upgrade to a current version of forms.

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New à Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    C: à Program Files à Adobe à Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the blue icon)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen.

    Hello!
After ugrading Windows Pro 8 to Windows Pro 8.1 , my  PC can't connect to my router E4200 v2  2.0.37.131047.
Settings to ip v4 all to auto.
    Please help.
PS Sorry for my  english, im from Russia.

    @ gRanid
Are you using Internet Explorer when accessing your router's page? If yes, what specific version of Internet Explorer are you using? It may be an isolated browser issue and you can opt to download and use other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to access the router's user interface. On the browser, you can either use the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account URL or the local access link to access the Linksys Smart Wifi tools for the E4200 device.

  • My start button doesn't work in Windows Pro 8.1

I installed an Windows Pro 8 to 8.1 Pro x64 on a desktop computer. Both were clean installations, no other software was installed. With Window 8.1 Pro, the start button worked for a day after all the updates, then booted the computer. Now, if I try to right
click on the Start button with the mouse; nothing happens. Thinking it was a virus, I used Windows Defender to search to the for a virus and nothing found. No other Windows updates to fix the problem! To me it just another glitch in Windows!
I updated a laptop at the same time with Windows 8 to 8.1 X64, not the Pro version. The laptop was a OEM version of Windows 8. The laptop works fine with Windows 8.1 after upgrading it.

  • Too many DOS command windows

    Hello,
When I start my local J2EE engine from inside the Management Console it launches a bunch of DOS command windows.
Is there anyway to make those just go away after they have launched/started whatever process each of them handles?
It's not a huge deal but it's annoying to see all those DOS windows on my Task Bar AND there is always the possibility that one of them will get closed by accident thereby "screwing up something".  It just seems kinda archaic to have all these DOS windows there the whole time I'm running my local engine.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    David.

Just cleaning up all my unanswered questions. Sorry that this will cause the post to 'bubble up' to top.
When we upgraded to later versions of Netweaver Developer Workplace this was not an issue anymore.
    We're currently on 2004s sp09

  • Results of Query Wrap Within DOS Command Window.

    Greetings,
I am using SQL*PLUS within the DOS command window.
The results of my query is wrapping down the page, instead of using the entire width of the window.
I have set the windows mode command, before going into SQL*PLUS:
    MODE CON: COLS=100 LINES=40
So, I was hoping to have Oracle use all 100 columns, when displaying the answer set.
    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
Size of lines, columns and pages are controlled by SQL*Plus system variables
    For width of lines
SET LINES[IZE] which defaults to 80
For number of lines per "page"
SET PAGES[IZE] which defaults to 14
To control formatting, including width of indicidual columns you have COL[UMN], e.g:
    COLUMN your_column FORMAT a20
    For more settings:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16604/ch_twelve040.htm
If you want certain settings each time you open SQL*Plus, you can add those to your glogin.sql
    Regards

  • Installing Windows Pro upgrade

I read that to install windows in boot camp you need a FULL version. My Home addition doe not have SP2 so I can't install that and then upgrade. When I put the upgrade disk in it asked for the Home addition disk. Once it recognized it, it continued with the Windows Pro install. However, things did not work right. Should I try it again or just bite the bullet and purchase an full version of Windows Pro?
    Thanks
    Phil

    Twin Daddy:
I am assuming that you have the full version of the Home Edition without SP2. If that is the case then you may be in luck. There is a way to "Slipstream" your home edition and the service pack 2 on a single bootable CD. Once this is done then you can install windows XP home edition and then use your upgrade CD to upgrade it to PRO.
Read the forums on "Slipstreaming" and the procedure is listed [HERE|http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/winxp-sp2-bootcd.html].
Let me know how it goes.

  • I don't have Windows Pro Service Pack 3 available

I don't have the option of upgrading my Windows Pro laptop to Service Pack 3. I don't maintain the OS or OS level myself and don't have support to upgrade. I didn't realize iTunes and my iPod only operate with Service Pack 3. Am I just out of luck and need to get a different player and software?

No, my laptop's controlled by administrator's who need everything at a common level because they have to service so many people, so have it set up so I can't make that upgrade myself. Thanks though.
I like beating my head against a wall and so kept looking into this. Finally found a post on CNET, related to SP 2 that said you can't have something mapped to the drive after your last hard wired drive because iTunes or the iPod has to use that drive location. I had a network directory mapped to my E: drive, right after the DVD/CD drive of my laptop at D:. I moved that network directory to the end of all my mapped network directory drives to free up E:, connected up my iPod and voila!, there's my iPod in iTunes. The iPod synced right up and came alive.

  • Windows Pro upgrade with Hyper-V for Windows App development

    Hi
I am just starting to develop my first windows phone app. I dowloaded Visual studio 2013 express on my windows 8 machine. I started to follow the Microsoft Virtual Academy, Develop Windows phone apps for Beginners with Bob Tabor.
Anyway, when i try to run the Emulator, it tells me i need Hyper-V which my version of windows doesn't have. Apparently i need Windows Professional. Anyway, this costs about £100 to upgrade. Also, for the emulator i am told i need 4gb of RAM.
Question 1: My laptop is an i5, 64bit machine, windows 8.1 normal edition, with 4gb of RAM. It says of which 3.88gb of ram is usable. Whatever that means?
The minimum requirement for the emulator is 4gb, will it work on my machine which apparently has 3.88 ?
Question 2: I already own a nokia windows 8.1 phone. A basic enough model. Instead of buying the upgrade for windows pro, is it a big hassle to run my test apps on that phone? How difficult is it to run a test build of an app on my phone? Can i run it via
the inside of visual studio? Or do i need to go to file explorer, copy and paste files over to the phone, disconnect it from the laptop etc. How many steps are involved? If its a load of hassle i might be safer to just bite the bullet and buy the Windows pro
    upgrade.
(although i am aware the emulator can't test some things that the actual phone can..eg near field communication etc.)
    Any advice?
    Regards
    Conor

It's not that big of a hassle to debug your app by deploying it on your phone. It's just a matter of choosing Device instead of Emulator when you start debugging in VS.
Some of the downsides are that your phone's screen must be on and not showing the lock screen, and the fact that you can only have a maximum of 2 apps installed on your phone for debugging purposes. If you start developing and debugging a third app, then
you must first uninstall one of the other 2 apps to be able to deploy the third app to your phone. To my knowledge the emulator does not have such a limit. I believe there's a paid developer account option available somewhere if you want to raise the limit
    beyond 2 apps.
Other than that, being tied to a single resolution as Dave mentioned is another downside to using a device.
