Msi g3 pro capture format

hello,
i just got myself a geforce 3 pro 64mb with tv in and out.  now, i'm using winproducer3 and 1.08 wdm capture drivers (the only ones that work for me as far as i know.)  i recorded a simpsons episode from my dvd player and discovered that the file size was over a gig.  now, the quality isn't blinding sharp, but it is pretty good.  i tried to change to avi from mpeg and re record it, but i can't get any other format other than avi.  can someone help me out?
thanks
richard

some excellent guides here link
I found you can get trapped using Winproducer/Wincoder, if you plan on compressing more after capture.  I have similar card to you and these guides work good.
NTFS will help if you plan on doing big files as virtualdub can corrupt frames when filesplitting

  • Problem with a MSI-6163 PRO

Anyone got an idea what kinda problem i have? I have an MSI 6163 PRO motherboard (with latest BIOS update 3.5), a PIII 700 Cuppermine, 3x256 SDRam, i run Win XP Pro, have a 40 gb harddrive and have been running like this for at least 9 months, without any problem. Suddenly it starts to reboot all the time and now i cant even start it not even in fail safe mode, it reboots before i get in.
Its not a Virus, i have virus checked the hardrive, i tryed with a smaller harddrive (6 gb and win 95) and that worked, i bought a new harddrivce (120 gb) Started to format and install Win XP pro and it starts to reboot again, i have tryed chagne memmorys, graphic adapter, net adapter, soundcard everything, i am going nuts! anyone had probs like this??
I would be more than greatfull if anyone has an answer to this.

Thanks a lot Wonkanoby for the help. It didnt help my error but it sure cleared it up. There were several capacitor that leaked, just as the pics on the site you sent  http://www.overclockers.com/tips00140/, it shows clearly on thoose. Cant beleive how that problem can be so big and seems like they are doing nothing about it either.
Well thanks for a great Forum here, and thanks to you Wonkanoby.
The motherboard is dumped... thinking of going back to good old ASUS
    Then its Rock´n Roll agian
    Have a great day.

  • DV capture format is the only option... Where's HDV?!

In Premiere CS5, When I start a new project or try and capture into a project built for HD videos, I can only capture footage in DV mode.
This means I end up with footage at 720x576 instead of the 1920x1080 I'm looking for.
This is what I get when trying to choose the capture format:
I'm using a MacBook Pro, with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
I'm capturing from a Sony HVR-Z7E Camera (but this shouldn't make a difference as I'm not getting the choice even before I connect my camera.

    1. Recreated the prefrences  and launch Premier again.
    2. Created a new account and also enabled the root account and then launch the application.

    i have the following problems:
    1. i formatted my HDD in my other desktop and installed it in my msi system. i booted from the cd and installed winxp. after installation in windows i proceeded to install updated drivers and such. after installing drivers and win xp sp1 but before being able to install office xp, my pc restarted and its own and when it rebooted i got this messsage: cannot start windows. c:windowssystem32configsystem is corrupted. i was not able to start windows again after this.
    2. after the above problem, i proceeded to attemp to install win xp again. i wasnt succesful because i always get a message saying cannot copy whatever.dll file all the time. so the installation wont continue.
i hope u can all help me. i feel that the win xp cd might be busted, but then again i am also concerned about problem #1 above. i feel that if i can install windows again i will have the same "spontanous restart" incident that first started and caused (i think) probelm #2
    pls help.
    thanks

    Hi!
Really, I don't think this could be a hardware problem since WinXp takes more than few minutes to install, and you did it, then you installed drivers and SP1. Why did you format HD in the other PC ? I would try a new install, taking out all not necesary stuff, leaving only CPU, memory and video card and formatting again the HD. for a clean install; then go adding the other hardware one by one, installing it's drivers and rebooting each time. Finally before connecting to internet enable Firewall to prevent Blaster Worm ( Don't know if still is going around ). One thing: Be sure HD is well connected and configured: Master if is a slave conected to same wire..etc.- If again you get an error, I would look for a faulty HD.  8)

  • Unable to boot with MSI X58 PRO-E and OCZ3P1333LV6GK

     Hi,
This is my first post in this forum.
I've had this system for about 6 months, and from time to time I kept having instant reboots and once the PC would never start, I think I've sorted that by first flashing an old MB BIOS and then the most recent.
Tree days ago I've had another instant reboot, but now the system stops/reboots when the coloured animation starts to appear above the "Loading windows" message. This happens with both Win7 32 & 64 bits and even with the windows 7 installation DVD !!!
I think I've tried all combinations of the other posts where the MB+memory was the same as mine.
Another strange issue is: the memory PN shown inside the BIOS (OCZ3G1333LV2G) is different from the label on the memory (OCZ3G1333LV6GK)!!
I've already tested with only one memory chip at a time, the result is still the same.
I've only got connected the following: Video board, 1 RAM chip, USB Keyboard & one SATA HD. No over clocking whatsoever !
What else do I need to do to finally boot to windows ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Paulo
    My System:
        Mobo: MSI X58 Pro-E, model MS-7522, version 3.1
        BIOS: 8.B
        CPU: Intel i7 920
        RAM: OCZ3G1333LV6GK (6GB)
Video: Sapphire Vapor-X ATI RAdeon HD 4870 2GB
        PSU: Combat Power CP 750W
        OS: Windows 7 32 & 64 bits

    Hi Henry,
    Thanks for the help.
"What are your RAM timings? Screenshot of CPU-Z Memory tab and SPD tab."
I've added a few screenshots of the memory, the SPD & CPU-Z tab, plus a MEM86 test with only on memory stick installed. It appears that the memory is OK... or not ?
"Do you have another video card you can try? Those Sapphire Vapor-X cards have been a problem for others in the past."
I wasn't aware of any problems with this video card, I use it mainly to send movies to my big LCD TV through the HDMI port. I don't have access to another video card, sorry...
I don't know what else to do, do you think it's the PSU ?
    Regards,
    Paulo

  • Building new system, MSI X58 Pro-E, i7 920, GTX 295, 6gb, Thermalright e-120

Hello, I was hoping for some advice on this rig, to overclock or not, etc; Im a bug gamer, so its really about gaming to the max 1st,
    Heres the brand new parts;
MSI X58 Pro-E (In the box, just arrived, do not know bios yet)
    i7 920
    Patriot Extreme Viper PVT36G1600ELK 6GB DDR3 9-9-9-24
    eVGA GTX295 1792mb CO-OP edition
Thermalright extreme e-120 cpu cooler (Jesus that thing is huge)
Im going to re-use this stuff:
2x500gb seagate HDD sata raid 0 for performance
Antec 900 case Lots of fans...nice
    DVD RW
Corsair TX750W Says 60A on a single +12v rail (I think its good, only @ a year or so old)
SB X-FI Fatality gamer sound card
So, basically should I look to OC this setup a bit? maybe to like 3 GHz or so? If so, whats the "safest" method to OC? I have an excellent cpu cooler and a case that has a ton of fans in it so hopefully I should be good for cooling.
Do I just OC the CPU? Will the memory run at its top speeds with this chip? or do I need to do something for the memory also, I recally for some reason on my current PC with a 780i SLI evga mobo I had to set the ram timins manually, they were never picked up properly on "auto", will I have that also on the MSI board?
I hope Ive provided enough information to get started.
    Thank you for any help!
Oh, I plan to build this baby the following weekend as I am working the next 2 weeks straight...meh

    Yes, why not?
Do not be aiming for 3 GHz, you can run that on stock voltage.  4 GHz is more within the grasp of the TRUE 120.

There's only one way to overclock - overclock...   There is no safe way of doing it...

The only way you can overclock a CPU without overclocking anything else is with an extreme edition CPU.  (The i7 965, for example.)  It's overclocked by raising the CPU multiplier, not the baseclock frequency.
With regular CPUs, you overclock the baseclock, which overclocks the CPU core, CPU uncore, memory, and QPI frequency.

    Extremely doubtful.
I hope I've answered your questions.   I can be more thorough if you wish to know more.  Of course, Google can tell you more than I ever could.

  • Pro Video Formats 2.0.1 Update Problem

Hello, the "Pro Video Formats 2.0.1" update keeps reappearing in my update list, after I've already downloaded and installed the update. It will say it is installed successfully, then check for updates again, and the same update will appear. No matter how many times I install it.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thank you in advance!

Me too. And I'm having a further problem with my iMac monitor and mouse. The movements of the latter are either way too slow or way too fast. I suspect these have something to do with the updates, but can't be sure. Definitely not the mouse, because it works fine on another Mac, running an earlier version of the system.

  • BlackMagic Intensity Pro Capture Card & (3) 1TB Internal Hard Drives

    Hello,
This is my first time using BM Intensity Pro. Prior to tonight all I used was FW400 & iMovie/iDVD.
I have now upgraded to Final Cut Studio with a BM Intensity Pro Capture Card and Three 1TB Hard Drives (7200 RPM with 32MB cache) - Striped as a RAID set to create ONE 2.7 TB HD for Video Storage.
I have a few questions that I would like some help with.
I would like to capture at the highest video quality possible.
I'm worried that Hard Drives wont be able to handle the capture speed or file size?
I ran the BM Disk Speed Test. I'm just not sure what all these numbers mean?
Can someone please explain to me what the following information is telling me?
Do the results mean that I'm good to go with uncompressed HDV via HDMI?
The first is my OEM Mac Hard Drive. The second is my 3TB RAID set.

I would invest in an external RAID controller.
You can find a variety of such from AMUG in RAID5/6 that will support higher sustained thruput.

Those should also give you a better feel for what to do with those numbers and what to look for.

How do I change the default iPhone screen capture format to .jpg?
I have an iPhone 5 (but I'm sure users with other models would like to do this as well).
My online searches have not found an answer -- I did find a discussion thread that was essentially, "Why would you want to do that?" Those posts are not welcome! Not looking for a work-around, an intermediate step, or the need to change the file format on a computer, etc. Just want to hit the two buttons and have the resulting capture be a JPEG file.
Not interested in jailbreaking or using apps that require jailbreak -- Want to do this with a new phone.
Thank you in advance for any help!!

    You can't.

  • Where is apple pro res format in mpeg streamline??

i'm brand new to this. have a canon 5D Mark II and final cut express 4.
am using mpeg streamline to convert files to work in FCE.
people here seem to suggest "apple pro res" format but i don't see it in mpeg streamline.

ProRes is only available with FCP. For FCE you have to use the Apple Intermediate Codec.

  • How do I get Pro Video Formats 2.0.1 to stop appearing in Mac App Store after I've installed it?

Pro Video Formats 2.0.1 appeared in my App Store a few weeks back (I'm running an 2011 MBP with 10.10.4 and have been using the betas). I installed it, and it continues to appear as an update every day. No matter how many times I install it, it continually comes back. I even wiped out all of my codecs in /Library/Quicktime, reinstalled the PVF. I downloaded the standalone installer, ran that. No change. I've seen a few mentions of this online, but hoping for a fix!

  • MSI X58 Pro - Latest Chipset Driver

    Hi,
Off and on I get an ATAPI error on Windows 7 x64. I'm running a i7 920 on my MSI X58 Pro (NOT the Pro E version).
The symptoms are simple, booting into Windows load screen I get my hard drive light lit up non stop and nothing loads. I'm not sure if its trashing as I'm using an SSD. I've run HD Tune to test all my drives are they have reported them to be fine.
I'll like to update the chipset drivers as a step to solve my problem
The one on the official page shows:
Intel 3/4/5 Chipset Drivers Ver: 9.1.2.1008
    Release Date: 2010-07-30
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/X58-Pro.html#/?div=Driver&os=All
This is the one I am using now.
I went to Intel's website and found an more updated one:
Intel® Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility) Ver: 9.3.0.1019
    Release Date: 2011-11-27
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3061&DwnldID=20775&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Desktop+Chipsets&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+X58+Express+Chipset&lang=eng
My question is simple: Should I update my drivers to the one on the Intel site or stick with MSI's one?
Also note that the MSI Pro has been discontinued and I'm not sure if the Pro x58 product page is updated.

If the updates didn't help, to further assist with troubleshooting, a list of all your systems components will be needed. Don't forget to give details of the RAM & the PSU, especially the amps on the +12V rail(s).

  • Safe O/C for MSI 9800 Pro

I would like to know with your experiencie with the msi 9800 pro, what is safe with the stock cooling to o/c this card?
Now I have it mine in 411.75/364.50 (XT speeds), no artifacts in 3dmarks 01 and 03.
I run the Atitool when I bought it, and gave me the range 453/369. But I don't dare to keep it o/ced at this speeds.

I DONT GIVE A   but thanks for the warning.
if i break my card due to overclocking i go to the store and will probably have a new card on my way home.
i used my head when i bought it so i went to a store i know is good but they are a bit more expensive than others.
and putting heatsink on the memory chips will void warranty if the store decides so.

    why only 364.50 memory speed?
mine is 378 stock and can go up to 410 or something.
