MSORCL32.dll and fastwrite

Apologies if this isn't the appropriate forum.
I have just installed the Oracle 10g Express Edition. I have created a database and loaded the data for my test model. I successfully connected to the database with our C++ application using a file dsn (ODBC driver (Oracle in XE vs 10.02.00.01)). The data was brought in correctly and I was able to write back out some of the data. However, when I tried to execute porton of the code that requires fastwrite I received the following error message.
"Error in connecting to Oracle for fastwrite ErrorCode = 80004003, meaning = Invalid pointer, Source = (null), Description = (null) ..."
I also tried to connect using a file DSN using Microsoft ODBC for Oracle version 2.575.1117.00, I get the following error message right off the bat
"Fatal Error : Database driver [MSORCL32.dll] not supported."
I should point out that this is a fairly old application that have been running successfully on our 9i and 10g production database. I believe we typically use the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver. I am trying to do a nightly regression testing and for this I thought it would be simpler to use the express edition rather that bother our DBA.
I am trying to figure out whether this is truely a limitation of the express edition or whether this is a configuration issue. I am new to Oracle so the latter is a strong possibility.
Thanks,
Hong

Exes are program executables. DLLs are funcional
libraries.DLLs are funcional
libraries.means ? we import # include<iostream.h> in C++ .
this header also contains functions. there are also
so many .h files . Headers only have declarations, no implementation.
can u tell me one example what .dll file contains
? does it contain fucntions ?Yes.

  • Captivate 6 Errors: Missing file libwinpthread-1.dll  and The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) on Windows 2008 R2

    Hi,
I have a problem with Captivate 6 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have 2 different scenarios where I tested but the result is same.
1- I used AMEE (Application Manager Enterprise 3.1) to create the installation Package to deploy through SCCM 2012.
Notice that the current package works fine on Windows7 (x86 & x64) but not on 2008 R2 due to an error after I try to launch Captivate.exe application.
The error states that there's a Missing file: libwinpthread-1.dll and if I copy and made a registration of this .DLL file then it sends another error saying: The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) so it never let me launch the application.
2- Now if I install the package directly from the Original sources(CD) without creating any AMEE package after completing the installation I still have the same error about the DLL missing file.
Is there any fix or workaround to install Captivate 6 on Win2008 R2 ?
Thanks in advance & kind regards.

  • How do I stop Win7 from breaking my software? Ole32.dll and "Power" service suspected culprits.

Hello and thanks for any help with this.
I built a new computer for my aunt and her one major request is that she still be able to use her card maker software Creatacard (yes misspelled just like that) by American Greetings. I thought this would be no issue, I could give her a much faster machine
and get her off (the no longer supported) WindowsXP all at the same time by moving her to Windows7 and copying all her files over from the old PC to the new one.
I tested the software first on a test PC of mine and found it would not install in a 64bit environment (error message saying use 32bit during install) which I solved by using Windows7 32bit. It worked perfectly so I proceeded to build her machine thinking
that issue resolved. Problem is after the new rig was built and SP1 plus all windows updates were installed the Creatacard software would not load. I get an instant popup message saying "Creatacard Application File has stopped working" with the options
to "Check online for a solution..." and "Close the Program."
Checking online does nothing noticeable and close program doesn't help as every time you reload it fails immediately with the same message. Clicking on the "view problem details" drop menu reveals that this is an APPCRASH with the following clues
    Fault Module Name  ole32.dll
    Fault Module Version 6.1.7601.17514
I have researched and tried everything I could find online about this crash and none of it (up to and including completely re-installing Windows, systematically loading a few Win-updates and trying the app after each batch, editing the registry multiple
times, trying alt versions of ole32.dll, and using a Linux live CD to alter windows settings) has fixed the problem.  I have learned the following though:
When windows is first installed the card maker software (CMS from here on) works fine.
After windows updates itself and a few device drivers auto load (like when you first plug in a USB mouse or Flash drive) CMS breaks.
Loading windows normally after it is up to date always causes CMS to crash and give the above message.
When I perform a "clean boot" CMS works fine once again.
When I boot into safe mode CMS works fine.
Someone online suggested a service could be the actual problem and there being 140 of them I used the 50% method to quickly narrow the list and found that yes indeed windows services do appear to be related because if I don't allow the "Power"
service to run the CMS works perfectly. With a bit of testing to see what it does I found that it controlled wake/sleep settings, delay until your monitor goes dark etc and that if the Power service is disabled it remembers the last settings entered and I
thought GREAT! Finally after many days of frustration and being balked by nonsense I have a solution. My aunt will never use/miss the power settings I will set them up for her once and then kill that service and all is well for a Happy Holiday... (from my
research online some may already guess where this is headed)  until I went to play a video............ and there was no sound.
A little red X had appeared next to the speaker icon down in the system tray next to the clock and hovering over it gave a popup with "The Audio Service is not running." This is where the BS gets deep. I had of course NOT disabled the sound (Windows
Audio) service and a quick check showed it and all the services it depended on were in fact on and running. The Windows trouble shooter offered to fix the issue and so I let it run but it comes back with "one or more Audio service is not running"
and attempting to restart the service on its own came back with a "Not fixed" result. Now if I go to check dependencies for the "Power" it claims that no other services depend on it and it depends on nothing but that is an outright lie.
Further digging shows me the Power service's "path to executable" as...  C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k DcomLauncher and many other services show they depend on DcomLauncher to run.
Long extra trouble shooting session short here is where I am at. I can have the sound working or the CMS but not both.
Uninstalling and re-installing the sound card drivers didn't help (since sound is being stopped at the windows OS level) either.
As soon as I turn on the Power service and reboot the CMS breaks. As soon as I disable the Power service and reboot the CMS works perfectly but all audio breaks. Both of these are a deal breaker as she will not leave her old slow XP machine without her CMS
and I cannot give her a new machine that has no sound. Reboots take 30 seconds on this new PC so were it mine I could just live with it as the CMS has no sound and I don't need music playing when I am designing a Christmas card. Use the sound/power on 99%
of the time and disable them and reboot whenever I make a card and then enable and reboot when I am done. This would be over her head though I fear as she is a senior and not very tech savvy. My question then is...
Is there any way to have the CMS work while still keeping the Windows Audio service (and all the other not listed but still existing dependent services) running? Or alternatively is there something else I can do to the ole32.dll to make it stop the crash/error?
To be clear I would happily accept a system without the Power service running if (like it actually says under dependencies) nothing else other than the "Power Options" in Control Panel ceased to function.

Thanks Michael. Apologies for the slow reply I was away for a bit (holiday blitz at work and visiting family madness etc.etc.) back now, I set both options you requested to "never " and retried the CMS software with no change.
I do have progress of a sort though, as a test I took a separate test PC and put a clean install of Win7 on and loaded up the CMS software (it worked perfectly) and then took the version of ole32.dll off that machine and put it onto the computer I had built
    for her (using Linux) and...
got a new error code. Darn I was so sure I had found a clever solution this time lol.
Anyway now when the CMS fails it gives me a similar error but the offending module is "ntdll.dll" sooo... I tried taking the "working" version of ntdll.dll from the test box and moving it over (making sure to back up the existing ones
first so I could put them back if needed) to her new PC and the PC would not boot.
It seems to want the original versions of a few Dynamic Link Libraries and if I could somehow give it those while not breaking Win7 it should theoretically work seeing as it no longer errors with ole32.dll.
ntdll.dll however seems necessary for Win7 to boot.
So what I am wondering now is:
Is there some way to have both versions of the DLL file in the system32 folder (bypassing the "cannot have two files with the exact same name in the same folder" thing) or rename the original DLL's something else and somehow make the CMS look for
the new named versions so the system has the updated DLL's it needs to boot/run and the CMS has the old ones it wants to run or is there someway to have a self contained install of the CMS, say on a USB flash drive and give it it's own E:/windows/system32/needed
dll's  path to the files it needs?
Willing to try any other options or settings you may have come up with as well.
Thanks again for your reply and my apologies for not answering sooner.

  • How do I use a dll and C++ code to create a labview driver

I have a dll and some .net code to read temperature from a USB HID device I purchased from the website below. In addition some other people have posted their methods/codes of reading the temperatures. I am trying to convert this into a Labview VI but I am very lost.
    http://www.no-feature.com/2008/01/taking-advantage-of-your-temper-device.html
It seems I can use the call function to see the functions in the DLL but I cannot use them to actually do anything. I have used serial communcation in labview before but never USB so I feel like I am in a little over my head and would really appreaciate some guidance.

This is not quite easy But to find out how try to reverse engineer this code http://pc8-termo.fis.ucm.es/~josechu/mitemper.zip
Before starting on the job I would recommend doing some testing to see if the code work with your device. I can help if you promise to post the tested code here in this forum. It doable in Labview. It just requires some bit manipulation. Also the unit drive must be installed
To establish a communication link with the device, the settings can be extracted from function SetupCommPort in MITEMPer.c, which are:
9600bps, 8 bits, no parity bit and one stop bit with DTR and RTS enabled.
To initialize the device, the function is init in functions.c. The sequence is:
Calling the Start_IIC function, which in turn calls the SetDataLine and SetClockLine passing 1 as parameters for both, and then calling those two functions again with 0 as parameters.
SetDataLine function sets the RTS line if the passed parameter is 1 or clears the RTS if the passed parameter is 0.
Similarly, the SetClockLine function sets the DTR line if the passed parameter is 1 or clears the DTR line if the passed parameter is 0.
In other words to to initializes the device, we first have to set the RTS, set the DTR, then clear RTS and clear DTR.
So to some part that involves a technique that is often referred to as bit banging. There are 3 groups of 8 bits (one byte) that need to be transferred. Which are, first group 10011110, second group 00000001, third group 01100000.
Then stop the IIC (look in the respective function on what have to be done here).
    Start the IIC again.
Transfer another 3 groups of 8 bits.
    Stop the IIC.
The sequence of transferring the group can be obtained from the function Transmit in functions.c:
The transmission is done through the DTR and RTS line only. Not through the usual TX data line.
If the data is 1 set the RTS or if the data is 0 clear the RTS.
Then the tick (clock), set the DTR followed by clearing the DTR.
Loop to the next data bit for 8 times.
After 8 bits, set the RTS line and set the DTR line.
Then read the CTS line for acknowledgement (inverted).
    Closed by clearing the DTR.
You can follow the C code and find the necessary sequences and data that you need to talk to the device and obtained a reading.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually several times. No luck. Consequently I have no player.
    Any ideas for a fix?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:

  • Is there anyone who has used Freescale's SimpleSUB.dll and DEMOJM board?

    Hello,
I am trying to connect Frescale DEMOJM board over USB connection. I am adding SimpleUSB.dll to my visual instrument thorough .NET constructor node and giving an mscorlib class GUID to the GUID property, than calling OpenConnection method from an invoke node referencing the SimpleUSB reference. But there is no valid connection to the device as DeviceConnected parameter return "False".
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 trial, .NET Framework 3.5. So they are up to date I guess. Is there a limitation of these for using .NET dll? And also I can use the dll in Visual C# successfully.
At first there was another problem using the .NET constructor node in LabVIEW because of Vista OS.  The vi was blocking when i added the node to the vi. I changed the "language & regional settings" to English(USA). The problem seemed to be solved. Can Vista's bug be still a problem?
Is there anyone who  has used Freescale's SimpleUSB.dll and DEMOJM board with LabVIEW?
I will be thankfull for your helps.
    Emre

    Hello Anna,
Here is one of my poor vi trials.   I have also tried putting some conditionals in some other files but it didn't helped.

Here is a link for the Freescale's DEMOJM board. It shows how to make a GUI for the board using SimpleUSB.dll & C#.  You can also download the dll from that web page and there is helpfull documentation for the dll.

I am trying to make the same thing with Labview instead of C#. But I am not familiar with the SW issues so am in trouble.

  • VS 2005 with CR XI R2 version 11 managed DLLs and Viewer

I have a development PC with VS 2005 and I need to interface with CR XI R2 reports.
I wanted to take advantage of Dynamic Graphic Location in CR XI (which the flavor of CR that came with VS 2005 does not have).
I installed CR XI R2 but still found the reference from VS 2005 to the engine was 10.2.51. Similar, the CR Viewer in VS 2005 was 10.2.51
If I build the rpt in CR XI and then run it in a VS project, because the engine is version 10, it ignores the logic wrt dynamic graphic location by formula.
In an attempt to fix, I then built and ran an install that had CR XI merge module. I think this then placed version 11.5.9710.1332s of CR such as CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll on my PC (but not in GAC). i.e. I found version 11 objects under C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\managed, that I don't think were there before - and if they were I don't know how to get them there again. I did originally install CR XI off a disk that was not R2 - perhaps it was from that? I dunno.
I then referenced the ver 11 engine (and related dlls) in my VS 05 project it seemed to work fine.
My next problem was to get the CR Viewer to work. So, similar to the engine fix, I added the ver 11 viewer to my VS toolbar and manually referenced the ver 11 dlls.
At first this seemed to work - but after I saved and opened another project in VS, when I tried to do the same thing (use ver 11 viewer and reference ver 11 dlls) I got :
Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.VSDesigner, Version=11.5.3700.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
I even get this now when I go back to my initial project I tried this in (that did work at first).
So then I went to a clean PC, and installed VS 2005 (including the CR that comes with it), then installed CR XI R2.
That put me back to square one - where I have VS 2005, but it references version 10 CR dlls and viewer (and it doesn't have any of the .NET ver 11 managed dlls).
What is the proper way to get VS 2005 CR references and CR viewer in VS 2005 upgraded so I can take advantage of XI R2 ?
Edited by: al smyth on Aug 13, 2008 10:49 PM

I have given up and found a different solution.
Upgrade to Crystal Reports 2008 (version 12).
The install detected Visual Studio and seemlessly integrated the assemblies and controls.
BTW - I was very impressed with the install logic and interface in this regard.
    Nightmare over.
My understanding of how such an issue came to be is that it is a case of chicken and egg.
In my adventures trying to find an answer, I read that when MS was creating VS 2005, it had to have a commitment date and cut off from CR.
By the time VS 2005 was released CR had advanced and as a result they were out of sync (although I don't understand why I couldn't find any patch or update to VS 05 that would have put the assemblies for managed code in sync with CR XI R2)
So now CR releases CR 2008, and it has finally 'caught up' and provides the needed detection and SDK updates for VS (i.e. now the egg and the chicken co-exist).
I had read a few times on problems such as mine to "uninstall CR and then reinstall". I had done this, and I had tried also on a totally clean PC (in both cases 1st install VS w CR, then install CR XI R2). No dice
I had also read that it could have been because of the flavor of CR (professional vs developer or whatever). But that didn't seem to make sense because I thought CR now basically comes in one flavor - but I don't know exactly when that started.
Thanks to Mark for giving a reply and specifying exact file version and assembly version numbers.
I'll leave this as unanswered for a while just in case there's some poor S.O.B (son of a banker) who cannot upgrade to CR 2008 and is having similar problems.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming....

    Hi All,
I am using labview from quite a long time. But this time i am stuck with dll.Not able to solve this issue.
I have to communicate with FTDI chip.
I have a VC++ Project to communicate with SPI of FTDI.That Code is working perfectly fine.
Now I Have to automate that through LabVIEW. VISA Drivers i cant use in this. So Last option left is either to create dll or to make EXE out of it.
I have tried by creating DLL and then calling it in LabVIEW by using Call Library Function Node. But its not helping me out every time LabVIEW is getting Crashed.
Is there error in creation of dll or something i am not doing properly while calling?

    Which function call crashes LabVIEW?
Have you tried switching the calling convention from stdcall to C for all of the DLL calls?
Why are you converting a string to a number, instead of using a numeric constant directly? If you want a number in hex, you can right-click a numeric constant, make the radix visible, and switch it to hex display.

    Hi nki,
To include the ocx and dll files you will need to build an executable for your VI and then create an installer for the additional files. I have linked 2 documents that will explain each of these steps. If you have any questions with this let me know.

  • Illustrator CS6 64-bit dvaui.dll and msvcr100.dll crashing problem, any solution?

First things first, trying to find a tech support Email address or phone number has been infuriating.  The "3-step support wizard" which results in "go to the forums" is also infuriating and insulting.
I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC running CS6 64-bit (updated/current), and it's crashing at random (2-3 times per day).  I see events recorded in the event log showing dvaui.dll and msvcr100.dll as the source.  Other people have raised this as an issue, and all I see are guesses.  Does Adobe have a credible solution for this yet?
I've tried running as a domain admin, which did not help.
Illustrator CS6 32-bit seems to be working perfectly (4 days straight, no crashing).
It seems to currently affect only one computer (5 others are fine).  It's not repeatable, and has no discernible cause.
Also, format and reinstall is neither a solution nor an option.
To be honest, I'm looking for Adobe to address this directly: do you know why this is happening, and how long until it is solved?  If an Adobe tech support will open a case, I have a file that the designer (I'm not the designer) was using during one of the crashes.  I don't know if the crashing will be related (to the file), but I have the file just in case.
    David.

    Hi Larry,
    Thank you for responding.
    > CS6 is current in that it is still available for purchase and in the CC but it is now two versions behind.
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say.  Can you be explicit, please?
    > As to your problem have you tried downloading the .dll files from Microsoft and reinstalling them?
I have copied and re-registered the DLL files from a known-good machine (that is to say that the machine doesn't exhibit any of the symptoms as the above machine), which did not help.
I'm really interested in having Adobe respond directly to this issue.  I know they are aware of it.
It's clear that Adobe doesn't actually want to support this program, but people rely on it for their economic success.  Both my client and his employees need this program to function properly and reliably, and I think anyone would agree that it's reasonable to expect that a problem like this (that affects more than just us) be, at a minimum, addressed.  Adobe has my client's money, they had no problem accepting it.  With that acceptance comes a duty to be responsive.
    Thanks,
    David.
