Multi currency payments in R12

Hi All,
Can someone tell me if the Multi Currency payments are allowed in R12.
To make it clear....our functional currency is LKR and invoice is in CHF and want to make the payment in USD..Is this functionality available....
Early response is appreciated. We are on 11i....
Thanks in advance.

if you raise an invoice in USD then you can make the payment of that invoice only in USD.
please refer to the note 473351.1in metalink.

  • How to pay a forign currency invoice in another currency payment in R12

    Hi,
    I have Oracle R12.06.
How to allow cross currency payment, for example :
I have an invoice in USD , i need to make an payment for that Invoice in EUR or any other currency sometimes functional currency.
I already check the allow Multiple currency Payment for all bank accounts and also allow multiple currency in Payable options ,BUT I still not allowed to pay any invoice in different currency.
    Regards.

Please note the following in respect of payment in foriegn currency other than the functional currency:
    Invoice and Payment Currency.
Payment Region – Type - If the Payment Currency is different from the Invoice Currency and both are fixed-rate currencies, Payables displays EMU Fixed. If the invoice and payment currencies are the same, you cannot enter a value in this field.
If the payment currency is different from your functional currency, enter exchange rate information in the Payment Rate field.
You can pay invoices in a different currency only if the currencies are related fixed-rate currencies – EURO BASED CURRENCIES
In all the other circumstances other than above the invoice currency and payment currency has to be the same.
    They cannot be different,
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Foreign currency Payment using foreign currency bank account

    Hi,
    We have the following requirement:
    Functional currency : GBP
    Bank Account :USD
Need to make payments in CAD
Since the bank account is not in functional currency we are unable to make that multi currency payment enabled. Users do not want to create a functional currency bank account.
Now how to overcome this situation ?

Hi, I am referring to paying foreign currency (ap payments) using non functional currency bank accounts. Are you referring to payment or receipts in foreign currency ?
Please refer the in 11i ap guide
    1. pg 2-104
    "Dening Multiple Currency Bank Accounts
A multiple currency bank account is an account that accepts payments in more than one currency.
If you define a multiple currency bank account for payments, the currency of the bank account must be the same as your functional currency."
    2. Payment Formats pg 2-140
" When you define a bank account, you can only allow payment of multiple currency invoices if the bank account currency is your functional currency."
These 2 states that you can pay suppliers in foreign currency only if the bank acct currency through which you are paying is same as functional currency. But my bank account currency is different from functional currency.
Since you say you are doing , I am quite interested to find out more. Can you please let me know your currency setups on the bank and payment format.
    Thanks

  • Multi Currency in One Incoming Payment

    Hi Dear;
in sbo we can't create incoming payment with more than one currency in the ssame incoiming payment.
i think it's better to have it.
    thank you Dear;

Though the SBO system has an option of allowing incoming payment in multi-currency. The suitation you're talking is very rare and SBO has no answer for it, has will affect your cash flow statement.
As all such things are discussed rite in the very beginnig i.e. even before execution of work, the user should post invoices accordingly.
    Assign points if useful.
    Thanks,

  • Foreign Currency Payments are not Picking up Exchnage Rates

    Hi,
We are on R12.0.6 and while entering foreign currency payments the system is not picking up the exchange rate. It is only allowing us to enter USER exchange rate. The field of exchange rate on Payment form is greyed out and not showing anything.
We have checked the rates and these are present in system. The same rates are picked up by invoice entry screens but for payments it gives us no exchange rate found.
    Has anyone faced this problem.

Well, it seems that the "Exchange Rate" field on the Payment form populates when the user selects the Bank Account before the Payment Date field. Previously we were entering the information first in the Payment Date field and than selecting the Bank Account. This was preventing the Exchange Rate field from being populated with the rate.
I just changed the order of the entry and it worked perfectly. Now first we select the bank from which payment is going to take take place and than the date, and the exchange rate is automatically picked up from the rates table.

  • Multi-Currency Customer Receivables Aging Query

    Hello Everyone,
    SAP B1 2005 SP 01 PL 42
We cannot produce customer statements for multi-currency accounts (CND & USD) through the Customer Receivables Aging report.  The report converts all FC to LC which is not useful to the customer.
The statement must show the open invoices in USD and open invoices in CND so that the customer can pay in the appropriate currency.
We are attempting to create a query to solve this issue and assign a PLD to execute the calculations, but cannot see the best way to execute the task.
The customer account balance (displaying only unreconciled tans.) would be the most reliable data set (form 809), but it is not available as a table in the query manager.  Any other table suggestions?
We would like to avoid building the query from scratch (collecting all open invoices, credits, payments etc...) to avoid error.  We would also like to avoid exporting the data as this is very time consuming.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tamara

We have found it better to set up two customers where different currencies are transacted - one in each currency. That way you can produce a statement in each currency.
I know it's not a perfect solution, but a good work around?
The only way to get the data you need would be to use OJDT and JDT1 tables, but you would need to join to the reconciliation table as well (OITR?) to get open transactions.

  • Multi currency set up

    Hi Experts ,
I am planning to implement multi currency (use of exchange rate )for existing client that have  used SAP B1 functionality with out multicurrency .
I have tested some of the issues so far i am ware of the problem that existing BP cannot be used for multi currency as they have already transacation associated with it .
What other implication /complication are there ? Please share your experience in this
    Thank you
    Bishal
Edited by: BIshal Adhikari on May 21, 2010 2:47 PM

    Hi Bishal.
Most of our customers have the multi currency option available.
Where bank accounts are held in FC, these need to be set in their single currency, otherwise reconciliation becomes difficult, but the accounts in local currency should be left as mulit to enable transactions to be completed between accounts.
The Exchange rate differences routine should be run on BP for reporting, take care how it is applied on GL accounts though.
Incoming & outgoing payments should have the actual rate applied when processing so the differences can be shown as realised at the time.
That's all I can think of that we have come across...

  • Multi Currency BP not in Doc Gen Wizard

Does anyone know why the customers that are set to All Currencies are not available in the Document Generation Wizard?
Might this be a bug or is there a logical or technical reason for multi-currency BPs to not be available in the Doc Gen Wizard?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Brad Windecker

    Hi Brad, Suda, Fabrice,
We also have the same problems and also for paying invoices to vendors.
The payment wizard denies all vendors with multiple currencies for the same reason and that's not acceptable for our company.
Solution: create vendors for all neccesary currencies!
The field in de BP master is changeable and it can be forgotten that as of the above reason, the currency may not be changed. If it's changed..we have to pay the invoices by hand and have to create new vendornumbers.
We have a lot of trade with vendors from the UK and USA in Euro, GBP and USD, that means at least 2 vendornumbers for a vendor.
Invoices to customers have indeed to be created manually as the note says, the reason is however not acceptable.
Are there more people facing this problem??
Hopefully SAP will solve this with a wizard for paying all currencies, which can be used if the client wants to.
    Best regards,
    Carl Verhagen

  • Multi-Currency Vendors

    Hello Experts,
I have an enhancement request.  When dealing with vendors in multi-currency I do not have the ability to adjust the currency exchange rate on a per-outgoing payment basis; whereas, if I am dealing with a vendor that has only one currency (different than mine) I am able to from the outgoing payments screen.
It would be nice to be able to specify the currency conversion from the outgoing payments screen for multi-currency vendors the same way I am able to for single currency vendors.
Please let me know if this makes sense, I have the process documented and can share with you if needed.
    Thanks for you help,

I think u can use REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY for the requirement that you have specified.

  • Multi currency payroll

    Hi All,
Kindly need your help to clarify. My client wants to implement multi currency payroll process.
I've done some searching and come into conclusion:
    1. Multi currency in payment can be done in IT0009. This one is clear.
    2. Multi currency in IT0008 can be done using different pay scale area. I checked my configuration, and found that when creating the pay scale range, the currency box is Grey (cannot be maintained) and using default country currency. In some threads mentioned that they're using country group "99". Do we have to use country group "99" in order to enable multi currency? Or, is it enough to configure the currency from company code level? I also notice that we can configured payment/house bank/etc currency at company code level.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Febri

This will depend on what you mean by Multi currency payroll - Final payments to employee at many currencies? or simply valuate wages in different currencies but final pay in single currency. Each has its own meaning and complications. Allied question to this would be what is the currency in which these multi currency payroll need to post to FICO?  Though I haven't done a configuration for such a scenario, it makes me think in the foll lines -
If you want to Just pay in different currencies (valuate and post in home currency) - you could achieve them by setting the payment currency to the employee accordingly in IT0009. While doing the final payment, the DME program would convert to respective currency and make the payment but watch out for payment posting currency and RPCIPE00 posting currency.
If you want to valuate  (&post) and pay in different currencies   - Payment Currency is tagged at Company code level and personnel structures are attached to Company code. So if you have different personnel structures assigned to different company code with different currency set, you could achieve multi currency Payroll. In Short effectively this would mean so many Payroll area. One Payroll area can do in one currency only.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards

  • Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade

Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade. Created a simple report using the below query:
    SELECT po_header_id, segment1, type_lookup_code
    FROM po_headers
    WHERE segment1 = '5000002'
Query works perfectly fine; when i set the ORG_CONTEXT in the database using the command:
    EXEC mo_global.set_policy_context('S',129)
But the report doesn't fetch any data when ran from an Org based responsibility. We've ensured that the MO: Operting Unit is set accurately and general Oracle reports (PLSQL Program OR XML Publisher) are working perfectly fine.
    ===========
I followed the steps provided in Metalink Note: 732826.1 - It works for some responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is not set; but fails for those responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is set.
I am looking for specific solution that works irrespective of either the MO: Operating Unit profile is set of not.
    Please suggest. Appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Kesava Chunduri

    Hi Hussein,
    Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, I've gone thru both the notes specified below:
Discoverer Workbooks Based On Organization Enabled Views Are Not Populated [ID 1293438.1]
    - Tried this option; but this option is messing up a couple of Oracle Standard Functionalities.
    - For ex: If i set this profile option; we are not able to create any receipts using Custom Responsibilities.
I am able to create the receipt, when i remove this profile option.
No Data Shows for Reports in Discoverer 10g with Applications Release 12 [ID 1054380.1]
    - I see that the products i am running these reports from AR/GL - already exists in these tables.
    Anything other options??
    Thanks,

    Use the default parser.
By default, WebLogic Server is configured to use the default parser and transformer to parse and transform XML documents. The default parser and transformer are those included in the JDK 5.0.
The built-in WebLogic Server DOM factory implementation class is com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl.
The DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance method returns the built-in parser.
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();

  • Foreign currency payments

    Hi all,
we have an issue related to foreign currency payments. Below a short action plan what we are doing:
    1. Import invoices through the 'Payables Open Interface Import'
    2. Validate the invoices with 'Invoice Validation'
    3. Populate the ap_inv_selection_criteria_all
    4. We call the 'Payment Process Request Program'
    5. We call 'Build Payments'
    6. We call 'Create Accounting'
    7. We call 'Transfer Journal Entries to GL'
If we now have foreign currency payments it will not take the exchange rate from ap_inv_selection_criteria_all. Due to this data in the below tables is missing:
    AP_CHECKS_ALL - missing: EXCHANGE_RATE
    AP_INVOICE_PAYMENTS_ALL - missing: EXCHANGE_RATE, PAYMENT_BASE_AMOUNT
    AP_PAYMENT_HISTORY_ALL - missing: PMT_TO_BASE_XRATE, TRX_BASE_AMOUNT
Due to this we generate payments, but the whole accounting will fail with 'Missing rates'
Any one who knows which columns in the ap_inv_selection_criteria_all must be populated for foreign currency payments?
    We populate: exchange_rate, exchange_date, exchange_type
But it seems like this is not sufficient.
    Environment:
    12.1.3 Apps
    11.2.0.2 DB
We already have a data fix. But the issue will occur everytime we have a foreign currency invoice which has to be processed.
    Thanks,
    Kai

Below are the columns we populate in the table ap_inv_selection_criteria_all:
    (checkrun_name,
    check_date,
    last_update_date,
    last_updated_by,
    bank_account_name,

    currency_code,
    document_order_lookup_code,
    audit_required_flag,
    last_update_login,
    creation_date,
    created_by,
    zero_amounts_allowed,
    payment_method_code,
    org_id,
    checkrun_id,
    bank_account_id,
    template_flag,
    future_dated_payment_flag,
    exchange_rate,
    exchange_rate_type,
    exchange_date,
    payment_document_id,
    create_instrs_flag,
    pay_group_option,
    currency_group_option,
    le_group_option,
