Multi Display Client

Is it possible to choose which monitor is viewed and controlled in ARD? I am having a tough time administrating some edit stations from my 15 laptop. The clients I have are using 2 monitors. One display is set to 1280x1024, and the other is set to 1920x1080 (for HD playback).
I would like to be able to control the primary 1280x1024 monitor, but have the option to control the 1920x1080 monitor if needed.
Is this possible?

Hi,
sorry for such a late reply. I tried modifying the java bean to resize the JScrollPane object also but even that didn't work. Then I hardcoded the size of my Java Bean in my forms code by trial and error. For example, the size of the bean area was 381x169. The values that I had to pass to the "setSize" bean method were 510x195. This made the bean exactly fit the bean area. Seems crazy to me, but there it is.

Xcode Multi Display Program

Hey guys,
So I'm trying to create a program in xcode that allows you to display dynamic content on an external display in a full screen window, and on the primary screen, have a window that has controls for the content. Here is my question:
How do I get the display window to 1. Start on the external display, and 2. Get it to go full screen? I know how to enable full screen on the windows, but when I have the window on the external screen and click full screen, it slides over to the primary display and goes fullscreen.
Once I get this enabled its smooth sailing from here.

Thanks! Unchecking of that checkbox — Displays Have Separate Spaces in Mission Control pref — helps! It’s so unintuitive to go there.
Some apps still misbehave but minor. Call Recorder, for example, (an add-on to Skype) is now flung way over to the opposite end of the other display. Weird.
But the bigger problems remain:
1. Brightness is still manual. Automatically Adjust Brightness controls only one (primary) display? No effect on a 2010 LED 24-inch Apple display?!
2. Excel windows still float off beyond the screen. Is MS Excel for Mac 2011 considered incompatible with Mavericks? Every functionality in Excel works fine, except that windows saved in a position outside the display area, like older documents, remain fixed outside the display area! So if the title bar is not visible, there’s no way to grab it and move it! I have to temporarily re-ARRANGE the displays again and again! Then do a save-as or duplicate the document. Uggghh.
Finder windows still don’t keep their views but probably not a multi display issue.

Multi-display windows under Mavericks

Under 10.6.8, it has been my habit (and pleasure) to open very wide terminal windows across as many as three displays in order to see the results of somewhat wide database queries without text wrapping, which affects readability and cuts the number of lines visible on the display window at once.
Under 10.9.3, when I adjust a window over towards another display so that the window would be on both displays, the window is "ghosted" until I let go of the drag bar, and if the move has not fully adjusted the window to land entirely on the display it is moving into, that half of the window promptly disappears.
Am I missing something about window positioning under Mavericks? Or, is there any way to regain the previous, multi-display-friendly window handling in Mavericks?

Multi Display on K230

Has anyone got ANY vidio card to be reconized on the K230 for multi display? I have tried two cards, both were not reconized by the bios but actually did work on Vista at VGA default.
No one in the support staff have a clue on making this work. There must be one card the bios will see and work. Why put the expansion bus in if you can not use them......?

I used the Nvidia 8400GS PCI. Bios did not see it, Windows device manager did not see it, however the computer was using the card as a VGA default (Intel onboard card was disabled in the bios).
I don't remember the other card, sent it back.
I have ordered the Nvidia 8600 to see if that will work, seen in a post that it did.
Also see post: K230 64 bit with Vista Ultimate, this is a post I did awhile back without any success.

The reason is that the SQL engine (and the PL/SQL engine) are processes running on the database server and so they pick up the server date/time. Those processes, running on that server have no knowledge of "client" machines and no way to connect to them. Network security ensures that one machine can't just get onto another machine and access it's operating system without any form of authorisation, hence the only way to achieve this is to have some way for the server to serve a java applet or some such thing to the client and the client user accept that applet to run on their machine and then that applet obtains the relevant details and passes it back to the server.
Imagine if you wanted to write code on your client machine to go to you colleagues client machine and get the date/time from it, how easy would that be to do without your colleague authorising some part of your software to run on his machine?

Multi-IM client with file transfer

I've been trying to find the ultimate multi-IM client which supports file transfers on all protocols... Quite ambitious, I know. I haven't found one, so I'll share my experience and ask for other suggestions. I'm mainly interested in Yahoo! Messenger, GTalk and Facebook Chat.
- Messages/iChat : great, except that the Facebook Chat account doesn't support file transfers. I only get a text: <contact name> sent you an image/file if I receive and an error if I try to send.
- Adium - no file transfers whatsoever. I know they have included this in "Known Issues", that it's actually a matter of luck whether file transfer works or not...
- Trillian - no file transfers on Facebook Chat.
- Nimbuzz - no file transfers on Facebook Chat.
- Psi - no file transfers on Facebook Chat.
I have yet to try the newly launched Flamingo, but I really wouldn't like to spend $10 for it...
Is there any way I could make Messages support file transfers on Facebook Chat? It would be my first choice, as it's deeply integrated into OS X and its iMessages support. I asked this on the Facebook Community, but still no answer. I have set up the Facebook Chat account as they say on the Facebook website.
Does it have anything to do with Mavericks?

The Login should be the 5222 item out of those.
If you open the App in the Applications folder you will see listings for Messages and also IMAgent.
And
I do have several AIM valid IDs logging in.
Several are now using port 443 as is the Google Login I have running.
The two UDP ports ar much more likely to be the File Transfer ones.
The "report" page of Little Snitch may give details in the right hand column about the IP address of the server used and this may also list a name of the sever that can be helpful.
The port 80 listed is probably to verify your ID against the regular Facebook server.
That said the two UDP ports are nothing like any I have seen Messages use.

Below are some converters/adapters to look at. If these look like they may work:
USB 2.0 to HDMI Audio Video 1080P Adapter for Windows and Macbook
Matrox DualHead2Go D2G-A2D-IF (or look here)
These should allow you to run multiple displays in extended display mode. Note that these use HDMI as an output so you would need some additional adapter to conver HDMI to whatever your displays require. Of course these suggestions are all academic if such an adapter doesn't exist.
Update:
I just reread your last post and I am confused. Is it only your TV that you are trying to run in extended display mode? I thought you wanted more than two displays. If only the TV it should just work if you are not using mirrored displays. Your Displays Arrangement tab should show both your main screen (one with the little whith menu bar) and the TV. Set the proper resolution and refresh rate for the TV using it's Displays preference window. That is all you need to basically do (ignoring overscan/underscan problems).
Note, if you are using Lion then I have heard that when using full screen mode in Lion additional screens show nothing.

I have a multi-threaded client app. that I'm using to test our proxy throughput. I've run into the same problem I've seen other people run into where the client application threads all get sent via the same proxy (in my case, I have 16 proxies available and configured in the client config.)
Now I've seen threads like this one: Re: How to dynamically connect Extend client to proxy server?
I just wondered, has a solution appeared since that time? I guess Coherence 3.6 and 3.7 have appeared in the interim. I'm on 3.6.1.4.
My "Coherence specific" code is all localised in each thread and nothing is shared, so I guess the behaviour I'm seeing is something to do with the way Coherence initialises it's client classes within the JVM, rather than something it defers until a cache connection is established.
Any solutions to this problem, so I can get my multi-threaded client (where each thread opens a NamedCache connection and then establishes a CQC against it) to use all (or at least more) of the available 16 proxies?

I have socket connection and was using single client thread untill now. But now requirements need to have multi-threaded client. Can any one pl. help me how to send messages thru' one thread and receive messages thru' another thread using same connection?? I urgently need help on this.

Create aclasses derived from thread for use by receiving
Pass the socket to that class's constructor
In the receivers thread's run method just in a while loop call read, or readObject, or whatever
Just send in the regular thread.

Set up extended mode multi displays using remote desktop session via thin client device

I am configuring a Dell WYSE T10 terminal device. I should be able to use 2 monitors in extended desktop mode, but can only get it to work in span mode. I attempted to use RDS on my windows 7 desktop with 2 monitors and connect to server (Server 2008),
and am getting the same issue. Am I missing a setting in the RDP configuration, or do I have a deeper issue?

Open remote desktop connection, under display tab, check the option use all my monitors for the remote session.

If the monitor can be detected your Displays preferences should show it in its Arrangement panel. You may have to play around with your Display panel to get the desired resolution. And also may have to click detect displays and gather windows to see both sets of preferences on your main screen.

Then of course you should call the ALV:

You can also insert images (with "call method l_logo->add_picture", if you define "data: l_logo type ref to cl_dd_area") or even split the heading vertically (by using "call method cl_dd->vertical_split".

my application need to display this frame on to a client machine.
For the moment i used RMI to do that. But the pb is:
When the client click on a button for example, i would like to run the event source program from the server and not from the client?

I suspect that there may be more that went wrong than just your display. I am going to recommend that you do a backup and full factory recovery of your computer. This will fix your restore feature as well as the tools partition that is also not working. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.

Highlight text not working in multi-thread client-server application plug-in

I'm developing a plugin application for my dissertation research on multi-application environment. I have an application server that communicate with the PDF document via plugin.
The plugin acts as both client and server, depending on the situation.
- Plugin as Server
I have a multi-threaded winsock2 IOCP running to catch client connections and when a client connected, get the data from the client (set of words), and highlight these words in the pdf document.
- Plugin as client
I use 2 procedures, one to collect all the text from PDF and send to the server using tcp win-socket connection and another to collect data from highlight tool and send these text. both these are not threaded.
Here's my question, because I want to listen to multiple client connections, when the plugin is the server, I'm running this procedure in a thread and then wait for clients to connect and use IOCP to serve the client connections. When the client is connected I use the data coming from client to highlight some text in the PDF document. All of these functionalities are already implemented, but when I receive data from client and try to highlight text in the PDF document my application freezes up and stop working. I think this is something to do with the thread. I'm using _beginthreadex to start the server and then another _beginthreadex inside the IOCP worker thread.
I can post the code, but before that let me know if you can see any problem in this situation. What I see from other posts is that acrobat is not multi-threaded.

I guess I probably need some sort of a notification when the data is received and do a callback to the main thread to run the acrobat API. Is there anyway I can create custom notifications? Something like this,
AVAppRegisterNotification(AVDocDidOpenNSEL, gExtensionID, ASCallbackCreateNotification( AVDocDidOpen, (void *)DocIsOpenedCallback), NULL);
or should I use a custom action listener?

TPEPERM on multi thread clients

We have a problem with our client experiencing TPEPERM when they multi thread on their side. Both our passwords are the same
Could this be a version issue

Multithreading is supported in Tuxedo only for release 7.1 and later. (I recall that we did implement a limited version of client thread support in Tuxedo 6.5 for some platforms that required setting an environment variable and may have required getting special binaries from BEA, but this is no longer supported.)
However, if you make Tuxedo calls from only one thread in your program and have other threads that do not access Tuxedo, then it is OK to use multiple threads in Tuxedo 6.5.
You will need to upgrade to a later version of Tuxedo if you want to access Tuxedo from more than one thread within a process.
