Hello.
Unfortunately, a specialized program may have to be used to properly format the layout that you desire for your custom paper size.  Please check if any documentation was included with your Multi Flip paper stock to see if the manufacturer of the media can recommend any particular programs to use with their media.

  • ETA or info on new book size and paper stock options, etc.

I don't know if printing services do or would coincide with product updates, and therefore we should expect these to come with a product update or not, but does anyone have any idea if there will ever be additional book sizes, paper stock and/or cover options for the books printed from Aperture?
I've printed four books from Aperture, and they make decent keepsakes, but I'd really like to step up to thicker paper stock and cover options like leather.
Is any of this in the works?
    Thanks,
    Brad

Yes I have dealt with and bought plenty from them -- yes they are very secret, hence, my question. It doesn't make it easy on someone trying to plan.
    Thanks,

  • Can you print thicker envelopes (ones for holiday cards have are a little thicker paper stock)?

Have an HP C7200 AllPurpose Printer >> Can't seem to print to envelopes that are a little thicker in stock, such as for Christmas cards.  I have the paper size set up correctly (5"x7"); but does not feed/print consistently  or sometimes jams.  I usually only put a few envelopes, maximum 5 at time.  Any advice?  Is there a place to specify thicker paper/envelope is being used?  Couldn't find on the printer menu, or in Word Printer setting options.

    Hi,
All printers (from any brand) can only support the thickness of paper (using weight) up to a limit. Using heavier paper than maximum supported weight on any printer, printer can not feed the paper or/and can jam the machine.

  • Anyone recognize this paper stock?

An older gent came in for new bus cds. This was done a long time ago. The stock is something Regency or one of the other invite companies used to carry. Haven't had an invite catalog in at least 5 years. He authorized me to special order if I can find it and get it in small quantities.
The stock feels glossy but could simply be laminated. I bumped up the contrast so you can see the pattern. Any brand or name for this paper would be appreciated.
I already googled marble cover stock and didn't find anything.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Having trouble loading MP-101 paper in Canon MX922 printer- seems to not fit cassette. Any thoughts?

Just bought Canon MX922 printer and having some trouble at setup with MP-101 paper fitting into cassette. Seems too wide to fit in. Am I having spatial orientation issues or is this something others have noted? Thanks

I just did the same thing - The "lower" cassette has two parts - see if you can pull another drawer out below the one you tried - the paper does fit in there...  the upper one will just fit envelopes it seems.  Stealthy lower drawer!

  • Pulling multiple paper stocks in metacode - Not working

    Hi,
I referenced multiple trays in my formset and its is getting reflected correctly in metacode as I gave the options below under < PrtType:XER > ini option.
    Tray1     = MAIN
    Tray2     = AUX
    Tray3     = TRAY03
    Tray4     = TRAY04
Although my print operators came back reporting an issue since the metacode is erroring out and proper trays are not getting pulled. Here is what they said:
""They are not calling a stockset. The JDE's they are referencing in the Dfault JSL do not reference a stockset but the job is calling out TRA02, 03, 04. You will need to reference a stockset within the job containing the TRA02, TRA03, TRA04 values."
Is there something else which need to be changed in inis or in JDE/JDL for stocks to get pulled correctly?
    Thanks!!

Yes, the JSL needs to specify a stockset and the TRAY INI settings (Tray1, Tray2, Tray3, etc.) need to match the stockset names. It's probably easiest for your print operators to modify the JSL to include the stockset names and then tell you what stockset names to use. Then you would set the TRAY INI settings to the names of the stocksets specified by the print operators.

    Hi desmith1944,
First, please make sure that the installed ink tanks are correct and full of ink.  The correct order is:
    CLI-251M  magenta
    CLI-251BK  black
    CLI-251Y  yellow
    PGI-250BK black
    CLI-251C  cyan
Next, please print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink is ejecting properly from the print head. To do this, please follow these steps:
     1.  Make sure that the machine is turned on.
     2.  Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder or the Cassette.
     3.  Open the Paper Output Tray and then open the Output Tray Extension.
     4.  To print the nozzle check pattern:
         4-1.  Press the MENU button.
         4-2.  Press the Setup button.
4-3.  Select Maintenance, then press the OK button.  The Maintenance screen is displayed.
4-4.  Select Print nozzle check pattern and then press the OK button.  The pattern print confirmation screen is displayed.
4-5.  Select Yes and then press the OK button.
The nozzle check pattern is printed and the pattern confirmation screens are displayed alternately.  Please compare your printout to the example that has been attached to this message.
If they differ, perform a few cleanings.  Please perform the following steps to perform a Cleaning:

  • Fail to print check stock properly

We have an HP 3210 all in one.  It's printing fine when I use regular multi use paper.  However, my checks are on a slightly heavier paper stock.  It is not printing these properly.  It does not seem to feed the paper through properly and I wind up with the payee, amount and other information printed much farther down than it should be.  Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am answering my own post... perhaps will help someone else.
The problem arises when the you attempt to set different clip rectangles as you render various page elements. Avoiding setting clip rectangles will help in avoiding the problem.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w -- Paper Creasing

I just purchased a new HP Laserjet P1102w printer this afternoon. After setup it prints fast and nice clear pages, but I noticed something strange. It makes creases in the paper. It's not really noticable, but if I hold a printout up and tip it in the light, it is making a small indentation in the paper that goes from 3/4ths of the way in from the right side and 3/4ths of the way in from the left side and from the top to the bottom of the page.
My guess was that due to the speed of the printing, my multi-purpose paper wasn't sufficient. I'm using basic OfficeMax/Office Depot 20lb 96bright multi-purpose paper. It's rated for Laserjet & Inkjet according to the package. I tried both the Office Max & Office Depot, same thing.
I checked the paper path and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I did notice at the top of the printer where the paper comes out after printing, there was a visible gob of what looked like roller lubricant/grease. I'm not sure if that was an issue but I took a cotton swap and wiped it away.
Is this a common problem with this model or did I choose a bad type of paper? I was using a Brother laser printer which handled multi-purpose paper just fine, but did not print as fast as this one.

I have the same problem on a brand new P1102w. There are 2 creases about 3 inches apart running the length of the paper vertically. I have done an internet search and have come up with no real solutions. Several places mentioned moisture in the paper being a common cause of this sort of creasing and recommend trying paper fresh out of an unopened package. I haven't tried that yet, but will do so today and post the results.  Ryanflucas and Danoid, if you find a solution, please post it back here!  I am wondering if this creasing might go away after printing 20 or 30 pages as my impression is that paper rollers (the creases line up exactly with rollers where the paper exits the printer) are causing the problem and use might 'break them in and loosen them up". That's probably wishful thinking though.
*Update*  Tried using the fresh paper, as discussed above. Creases still occurred but were much less pronounced. Next I will try printing a 30 or 40 page document and see what effect, if any, a little heavier use has.
*Update* Feb. 17.  I have printed 30 to 40 pages from the printer and now see no creases in the paper. It does seem that there is something to the 'breaking it in" notion. Who knows. The problem has gone away with use, that's all I can say.

  • Incorrect Number of Pages Printing - Custom Paper Size

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to Crystal Reports but have recently become responsible for supporting a report that my office has been using for several years.  We utilize a fairly simple Crystal Report to create temporary and guest parking passes in the parking services department of my University.  These passes simply take some data from our internal database and add the current and calculated expiration dates - again, pretty simple.  These passes are then printed on a custom paper stock roughly the size of a #10 envelope that has a hole in the paper to hang around a car's rear view mirror.  This solution has been working for years but we have recently run into a very annoying problem.
The passes are being printed from our four customer service computers.  Each computer is identical - an HP dc7900 workstation running Windows XP SP3 and Crystal Reports 11.  The computers also have identical printers; HP DeskJet 6940s.  A couple of weeks ago the customer service representatives who handle the parking passes started experiencing a problem.  When they would print a the report (the temporary or guest pass) the printer would occasionally pick up the custom page, make a strange grinding noise, and spit the page out without printing.  It was only by putting the paper back in a second or third time that the pass would actually print.  This problem seems to happen randomly with some people experiencing the problem more than others.
Like I mentioned before, this method of creating the passes has been working for several years.  We have been using the same Crystal Report and the same printers.  One of the four CSRs has not experienced any problems with her printing - the passes come out of the printer correctly every time.  Other CSRs are able to specify only printing page 1 and the pass will print correctly; even though it is only a one page report to start with.  There is only one CSR who has the problem most frequently - about 80% of the time - and she cannot use the "print page 1" technique.  We have tried to figure out what sets her apart from the others but they should all have identical machines.
In troubleshooting the problem I have attempted everything I could think of.  Our first thought was to clean the printer or swap it out with a spare, but this did not solve the problem.  Since it was happening on multiple computers, we thought the report was to blame.  We checked to make sure all of the data was fitting withing the margins, there were no extra sections or section breaks, and that the report had not been corrupted somehow.  We also tried to create a new report from scratch - again none of these actions helped.  I then tried to upgrade one computer to all of the latest updates available for Crystal Reports 11 from the website.  These updates did not solve the problem either.  The final straw was to re-image the computer to a known good state, but this did not help.
Since we are still not sure of the root cause of the problem I have posted a similar topic on HP's customer support forum.  I was hoping that someone in the Crystal Reports community may have some insight into my problems as well.  I have searched through the forums previously and that's where I got many ideas including updating, checking for hidden/over sized text, changing the print engine, and turning of Data Execution Prevention.  However, none of these suggestions improved our situation.  Does anyone have any insights as to what could be causing our problem?  It is getting very annoying for the CSRs and I feel bad that I have not been able to come up with a solution for them.
To recap, here are my environment specifications:
    -Crystal Reports 11
-Windows XP Service Pack 3 + all available Windows Updates
    -HP dc7900 Workstations
-HP DeskJet 6940 printers connected through USB
    -Microsoft Office 2007
    -McAfee Anti-Virus 8.7i
I appreciate any help or guidance anyone can provide.  Thank you in advance for your support.
    Jeff

The "strange grinding noise" leads me to believe it is the printer or paper stock.  I know you said you changed printers, but did you swap the printer having the problem with the one that never does?  My HP color laserjet makes a strange grinding noise now that the fuser needs to be replaced (which I will be doing this weekend).  Usually the louder the noise, the worse the printout looks...
Nothing in Crystal should cause a printer noise...

    Carl

  • Prints to large paper (Super B, 11x17) aren't formatted properly

I have been struggling with a problem related to printing Super B and 11 x 17 sized paper. Using a PDF document with dimensions of 10x18, my print jobs always come off the printer as though the paper stock is 8.5 x 11". I have tried printing from Acrobat, Photoshop, Preview and the output is the same: the full sized image cropped to 8.5 x 11. The rest of the paper is left blank. To save paper I've been troubleshooting by printing to a PostScript file in the print dialog. The resulting PS file, opened in Preview, is an 8.5 x 11 document with only that same portion of my image printed on it.
I have tried changing the page setup window numerous times, telling it to format for "Any Printer", my own Epson R1800, and Acrobat versions 7 through 9. In Page Setup I have tried numerous page sizes, including defining a custom page size as well. No effect. The only clue I have to this is if I define the page setup as "Tabloid" then the print job will go to the printer formatted for an 11x17 page. This is a workaround for that size but is no help with Super B.
I believe this to be an Operating System issue because it persists with an Apple-only workflow: open PDF in Preview, set page size to Super B in the print dialog, and tell it to output a PostScript file. The file is formatted to 8.5x11. Is this somehow due to a setting in the Print Driver that I'm missing? If so, can I create a generic print driver that is not married to the Letter paper size? Thanks in advance!!

Have you tried uninstalling the driver, repairing the disk permissions, then reinstalling the driver?
If that doesn't work, Here is what I did when I had problems with custom page sizes on my R1800. After changing the size in Page Setup (which you have done you said), I hit Print. When the first print menu comes up I make sure "Scale to Media" is unchecked, then I hit "Print". When the second print menu comes up I choose "Paper Handling" under the drop down menu. I check "Scale to fit paper size" and "Scale down only" then I select the paper size I want to use. After doing that, it seemed to print the way I wanted to. I mainly ran into this problem when trying to use 13X19 paper.
    Hopefully this works for you.

  • Pixma MX922 pulling in multiple pages when printing

MX922 - couple weeks old. Has been functioning fine in excellent photo printing.
But, when page printing on premium grade paper ( 20 or 24lb) the printer has the very annoying tendency to grab up 2 or more pages at the same time.
Paper is fanned ( fluffed up) before inserting into the tray and squared up
    Paper tray is properly adjusted.
    Tray is properly inserted.
Will print fine and then will drag in 2 or more pages in. Print a couple fine and then 3 pages get drawn in. I pull out the tray and check the paper and I see no issues. Have removed the paper and fan it and hope for the best.
This is really annoying when doing duplex printing let alone on single sided.
I have now tried this with 3 different brands of name brand paper.
Scanned this forum and haven't seen any similar reports.
Just ocurred again when trying to print 17 pages 2 paged and 3 pieces were drawn in.
    Suggestions?  Ideas?
    A great printer otherwise.

    Hi chips,
Is your paper measured in g/m2?  If so, we recommend the paper be between 64 to 105 g/m2. This measurement is much more reliable for determining your paper compatibility (especially with thicker paper).  Additionally, it may help to perform a roller cleaning on your printer.  For more information on this process, please review the following article from our Knowledge Base: Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller - MX922.

  • What type of paper setting should I adjust my printer to for printing business cards?

HP PSC 2210 all in one
Win XP Pro Media 3rd ed.
    No error message
no changes made to the system
I am trying to print out some business cards using Avery 5876 2-sided printable business cards.
When I print a test sheet out of my biz cards on regular 20# paper stock and adjust the settings just so, everything goes well and a trial run using the regular 20 # stock everything comes out great!  But when I put in the Avery card stock and hit go, the printer goes a lot slower while making the script and images very dark with excess toner on the card stock only.  But not on the paper stock. Why is this?
Should I should change the paper settings on the printer from automatic to what setting for business card stock?  If so, to what setting? -- Special papers, greeting cards, brochure papers or what???  PLEASE ADVISE.
    THANKS,
    Scott

Is the stock designed for inkjet printers?  The cardstock is likley being misread as photo paper by the automatic sensor.  I would suggest trying with brochure paper, other inkjet paper or card stock in that order.
