Multiple Alarms on Random Events

Question

I have discovered many, seemingly random, calendar events with multiple duplicate alarms. I am convinced that this is causing sluggish and other quirky behaviors in iCal. It is taking forever to delete them individually. Is there any way to delete all alarms for selected, or all, calendars in one action? Perhaps a terminal command or file that can be deleted?
I also want to make sure that the duplicate alarms are not put back into the calendars when I sync with .mac.

Hi Fred,
This applescript should delete every event alarm in the calendars you select when you run it:
tell application "iCal"
set myCals to (choose from list (title of (every calendar) as list) with prompt "Choose calendar(s) to delete alarms" with title "John Maisey - Delete Alarms" with multiple selections allowed)
set myTimer to current date
repeat with myCal in myCals
repeat with myEvent in every event in calendar myCal
delete every display alarm of myEvent
delete every mail alarm of myEvent
delete every open file alarm of myEvent
delete every sound alarm of myEvent
end repeat
end repeat
display dialog "Deletion done in " & ((current date) - myTimer) & " seconds" buttons {"OK"} default button 1 with title "John Maisey - Delete Alarms" with icon 1
end tell
Depending on the number of events & alarms it's possible it may take some time to run.
