Multiple Characteristics - Fill-down Cells upon Grouping

I have several users hoping to fill cells down upon the refresh.  For example:
<u>Current:</u>
Company.......Account
0999..............ABC
.....................BCD
.....................DFE
<u>Desired:</u>
Company.......Account
0999..............ABC
0999..............BCD
0999..............DFE
Is there a standard setting that enables these different views?  Is additional development required?  (Forgive me if this is rudimentary...I'm a business/functional team member, not direct development...)

    Well, try this (I was able to fix my with these steps):
    Go Utilities > Disk Utility
    Select your Startup Disk, e.g. Macintosh HD
    Then, under the First Aid Tab, click Verify Disk Permissions.
    If there are errors, then click repair Disk Permissions.
    After it is done, restart the computer and see if your problem is resolved.

  • Fill down from D1 to active cell in excel ??

    Hi all. I am trying to write a script to take the values from column A and subtract the value of A$1 from the rest of column A. To do this manually I set D1 = A1-A$1 and then fill down in column D to the last used row in column A. Then copy-special paste values from column D to column A. Below is what I have written so far, but the "select (ranges "D1" thru active cell)" selects cells D1 and the active cell ($D$5) not from cell D1 down to the active cell.
    Any ideas for a newbie?
    tell application "Microsoft Excel"
    set formula of cell "D1" to "=A1-A$1"
    select (get end range "A:A" direction toward the bottom)
    set theEnd to (get first row index of active cell)
    select cell 4 of row theEnd
    select (ranges "D1" thru active cell)

    I figured out a way to do what I was after, but I would think there is a more direct way of doing it.
    If anyone has a way to slim down or clean-up this script, please let me know.

  • Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 - Forms with drop down fields providing fill-in options upon hovering

    I have been sent a few form documents created in Microsoft Word which contain drop down fields that provide fill-in options upon hovering over those fields on the form.  These form documents end in ".docx".  I do not own Microsoft
    Word for Mac, but am considering buying it or signing up for the Office 365 service for Mac so that I can fill in these fields using the drop down options.  My question is:
    Will Microsoft Word for Mac or the Office 365 for Mac service allow me to use the drop down fields that provide fill-in options upon hovering?  Or is this feature not available when using either Microsoft Word for Mac or the Office 365 service
    on a Mac?
    Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you!

  • Query Tables Does Not Fill Down Formulas When Refreshed

    I have used external data queries for several years, connecting to a variety of data sources, but most frequently to SQL server 2005 using MS Query and ODBC. Anyway, in Excel 2007, when I refresh my queries and the data range adds new
    rows to the query table, the formluas do not fill down past the previous extent of the data range. These are not external queries converted from a previous version of Excel; I built them in Excel 2007, and the issue persists across multiple workbooks.
    To answer the inevitble suggestions:
    1) The formulas are definitely in the query tables, not adjacent.
    2) "Extend data range formats and formulas" is enabled in the advanced tab of Excel options.
    I've found threads on other sites where users had similar problems, but have not seen a satisfactory solution or even a good response to their inquiries. Any ideas?

    I have the same issue with excel 2010.  To answer Ryan's last question,  Excel does seem to consider all the added rows as begin part of the table.   On the pre 2007 queries, there was an option under 'External data properties'
    to specify whether you wanted the formulas to copy down to the new rows. When this option was selected, it worked without fail.  Under 2007 and 2010 this option no longer appears, but most of the time the formulas do copy down properly, but eventually
    something happens to cause this to stop occuring.  The only fix I have found is to recreatet the whole query again.  It then works for awhile and then stops working at some point. I wish I could isolate what causes it to stop, but I haven't been
    able to figure it out.
    Same with me and Excel 2010.  The help refers to the option, but my dialog box does not have it.  (Another option that has disappeared is the ability to get column headers derived from the returned query.)

    Properties.
    In the External Data Range Properties dialog box, select the
    Fill down formulas in columns adjacent to data check box.

    In excel I can choose them by using "go to special" > "blanks" dialogue, and using referrence like "=R-1C"

    The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
    When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
    But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
    For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:
    5
    3
    1
    Choose
    -1
    -3
    -5
    The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
    For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

  • How can I make fill down command NOT increment values?

    Hi,
    Is there anyway I can get the fill down command to insert the same value in each cell, rather than filling in an increasing series. It works fine for plain numbers (i.e. if I fill down from a cell containing "1", it gives a column with every cell containing "1").
    However, for dates and mixtures of text and numbers it always increments the values - example below:
    Doing fill down from cells containing:
    1 18 Mar 2009 abc100
    Gives:
    1 18 Mar 2009 abc100
    1 19 Mar 2009 abc101
    1 20 Mar 2009 abc102
    1 21 Mar 2009 abc103
    1 22 Mar 2009 abc104
    1 23 Mar 2009 abc105
    etc...
    How can I keep the dates and "abc100" the same in the filled cells?

    I have no idea how the designers of Numbers determined when to fill down identical values versus incrementing the values. For instance, "abc100" increments in a fill down while "100" and "abc" do not. I, personally, see nothing special about "abc100" that indicates a pattern.
    And you are correct that Fill Down is different than dragging the circle. Fill down takes whatever is in the top cell and fills down (either incrementing or not, depending on whatever the rule is the designers chose) while overwriting whatever was in the lower cells. Dragging the circle of a box that covers 2 or more cells fills down from the bottom of the box and it looks for patterns, not just simple increments.
    No problem on the search. It isn't always easy to find what you are looking for. I just happened to remember that thread.

    I am running P6 version 8.2 and I am trying to use the 'fill-down' function to copy resources down for certain filtered activities but the option is always greyed out.
    I can fill down just about anything else but for some reason it doesn't work with resources.
    Can anyone fill me in on why this may be..?

    You can't use fill down on any column that is a list. Predecessors, Successors, Resources, Roles and Activity Codes can all be assigned to multiple activities by highlighting them, right clicking and going to Assign. This will bring up a window where you can choose what to assign.
    I am not 100% sure on why you can't use fill down with resources but I imagine its because you are doing more than editing a value for each activity. You are linking an activity to a resource, each of which are objects in the database.

    I need your help in a subject.
    I've a material which is assigned to two classes ZMATERIAL and ZMATERIAL2.
    ZMATERIAL has some characteristics about the material and ZMATERIAL2 has also different characteristics.
    I want to search for material by giving values for multiple characteristics which are assigned to different classes.
    For example;
    ZMATERIAL has Plant and Material Group as characteristic
    ZMATERIAL2 has Responsible Person as characteristic
    I want to search by giving plant and responsible person. Can I do this in SAP? It allows me to search only by one class as I see.

    Seems it can be done if you can use class hierarchy.
    Create a new class ZMAT without any characteristic , then assign your existing classes to this class using transaction CL22N. once its done, you can use CL30N to search objects in new class ZMAT , also you will have optyion to use subordinate class for this searches.

  • Drill Down Report by Grouping Data

    I am using Apex version 4.
    I'm wondering if there's a way to create a drill down report by grouping data and having a plus (+) symbol (or some other symbol) next to the group so the end user can expand or collapse as they want. So similar to how it works in Microsoft Excel.
    So I'm looking to build a report that looks something like:
    Market Office Revenue
    1 $200
    a $50
    b $70
    c $30
    d $50
    So there would be a way to expand or collapse the list of offices.
    Anyone know of any way to do this? I was hoping to avoid having to create linked reports. Even if there's no way to get the expand/collapse functionality to work, it would be acceptable to just show the data as I have in my example above.

    Sorry, the format of my example got messed up.
    It's basically a hierarchy between Market and Office. So it's Market 1, then underneath that it would be Office a, b, c, and d. One market, multiple offices. Total market revenue of $200, then each office has the amounts listed.

    I loaded one of my CD's into Itunes when I had no connectivity and want to fill down the genre, album name and artist.

    No, but you can select multiple items, then right/option click and *Get Info* where you change common fields. If you ripped the CD with iTunes then when you have a connection you should also have a menu option somewhere to *Get CD info* (or something like it) which should fill in the missing data. (not in front of iTunes or I'd give you the precise command).

    I have a class and 4 - characteristics.
    out of which
    1. Material Group - 150 numbers
    2. Plant - 70 - Number aPPROX.
    and I have around 100  strategy so it is a lot of data entry work.
    I want to add values in the characteristics through copy paste function other easy way it will save a lot of my time. System is not allowing that in CL20N.
    That is the question if any body can help this it will be a great help.

  • Fill down - how?

    I can find no way in Numbers of using fill down from the keyboard (ctrl+D in Excel). I know you can select a cell edge and drag down but there appears to be no keyboard shortcut (which is much faster and accurate).
