We are facing connection pool issues from middleware, is it suggestable to create multiple datasources with same connection

Dear Colleagues
We are using Solution manager 7.3. When we setup system landscape under a solution manager implementation project, we can only select one development and one quality/testing system.
Our scenario is that,
Development System:
D40 - 010 : (both workbench and customizing changes being done in same client)
Quality System:
Q40 - 010 : for customizing changes
Q40 - 000 : for work bench imports
So the querry is that, how we can add these two separate rows in Solar_project_admin and under tab systems:
ie D40-010 --> Q40-010 and D40-010 --> Q40-000.

Generate Export DataSource from InfoCube In Production System
Software component : BI release 7.0 SP 18
Dear Gurus,
we have a strange situation in our production system from a month till now.
We want to generate an export data source from an infocube to load data into another one but now when we try to generate in prod ( right click on infocube and select "Generate Export DataSource" ) we can't create anymore.
Following message appears :
no changes to repository and cross client customizing object allowed
and the generation is stopped.
We always did it in production system in the same way as in the other system and then transported the update rule or transformation, but now it seems that is no more possible.
No setting has been changhed in SCC4 and in object changeability. Maybe is an authorization problem or is due to any other setting?
Does anybody has a way to solve this problem?

If you want to generate an export datasource you ask your basis team to open the system so that you can do.
As per the Sap Best Practise you can do the export datasoorce in your development system and move it to the quality and after testing you transport to Production.
Generallly if you can look in to production authorizations you may have only some operation like to display only.SOme times basis may give authorizations like creation of DTP and Infopacks like that.

We are using an interface to create Production orders from legacy to SAP. Would you recommend an IDOC or a BAPI to create Production orders. If IDOC or BAPI then could you please mention which one?

For your purposes, please use BAPI for production order creation from legacy system. There is no standard inbound IDoc available to use. SAP has an IDoc for outbound interface only (message type LOIPRO).
If there is an inbound IDoc available, I would recommend to use an IDoc.
IDoc technology has excellent error handling and will allow you to reprocess an error (if any).
BAPI is also good approach to use and fast in term of processing.
For BAPI approach, you can use BAPI BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE.

You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
> intarget Source system tab -
>Give Source system for File.

Inactive Transformations and DataSources in Production System.
Hi Experts
We are working on BI 7.0 engine within Solution Manager.
We had some issues with DataSources initially while transporting BI Objects from Devp to Prod. We logged it into OSS and followed their procedure to redo the transports.
In the process, the issue was resolved but 2 New Transformations are created one for each Data Model (since I have only 2 InfoCubes) automatically and is the working model now.
Actual Transformations from Devp became Inactive in Prod and also there are 2 Inactive DataSources which are also from Devp. 2 New DataSources are again from Devp.
When I tried to Delete these unwanted Objects from Prod (I asked the Basis to Open Prod for me though this is not the best practice), it is asking for a Request ID. Also, since the Project has Gone Live already, I am scared if I might disturb the Production System.
Kindly, advise what best could and needs to be done.

ChanduInitially, we implemented BI-HR module with standard content, which 3.x content (transfer / update rules)... in parallel we also did transformations & DTPs (BI 7.0 model).
Since, client wasn't sure with conversation of transfer rules (has lots of routines) to transformations & DTPs . So we transported both the models to prod sys... We created daily load process chains with transformations & DTPs... The actual plan was, if PC loads fails, then to go for manual loads of 3.x model...Fortunately 7.0 models was successful...
Then one month later, we deleted those transfer / update rules and 3.x datasources from prod sys, on the weekend (process chains runs only week days) without any issues...
We captured those deletion requests and deleted them from SE09 by unlocking them in SE03. -
Inactive DataSource in Production System

I have a situation where DataSource inactive once I initialise infoPackage.we transported from Development to Production and it was active (green) in Production System.I tried to initialise infoPackage then I got the message

1. Replicate the datasource at Application component Level. i.e. If your datasource is in an application component say, BW then right click on the application component "BW" and select "Replicate Metadata".
2. If you have transfer rules then activate them with program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL".
SE38 -> RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL, if you are not able to do it, ask help from your basis to do it, they will have option to do changes directly in prodution itself.

Allowing Multiple Login of users in Production system
Hello,
In my office there are total 4 employes which all use SAP but they all use one username and password so it isn't possible for them to work at same time. Only one employe can work, then after he completes his task he must log-off, and then other employe logs-in and so on... So Multiple Logon option is disabled. I would like to enable Multiple Logon option but as I read it somewhere Mult.logons in productions system of users musbe set to off?
I am not sure what do do because I need to have option for employes to lgoin at the same time with one username/password.
If this is not possible is there any other way to achieve this? Also is there any way that one employe can enter/view data and other three employes can login at same time only to view data?

first of all we need to look at what is catalog management before proceding with product and product catalog.
You use this business scenario to create a centralized product catalog that contains product descriptions, multimedia objects, pricing, and associated literature. The catalog enables quick and easy customer access to timely and personalized product information, structured in such a way that most meets your customers needs.
Product catalogs are implemented in sales processes and are of particular importance in CRM Web Channel for presenting your products in the Web shop.
difference between the product and product catalogthis is not the thing that product and product catalog are completely different entity.
Product catalog : A grouping together of products from your product master data, in a structured hierarchy.
You use product catalogs to group together products to present them in the Web shop, Interaction Center, or in other forms of media, for example printed format or CD-ROM.
You can create various catalogs for your products in the product master and use them according to a validity date. For example, you could use certain products for the summer season, and other products for the winter season.
You can also tailor your product catalog to meet other needs by creating catalog variants. For example, you can create a catalog in English with the prices displayed in US Dollars.
so by above definition it is very much clear that products are actually assign to the catalog,i will give you an analogy that museum is a kind of catalog and you add different pictures to the museum,in the same way you add product to the product catalog according to the acatlog variant.
Now how you assign product to product catalog
Product Assignment
You assign products manually or automatically to a catalog area, depending on the catalog type. The product ID, product description, and status of all products is displayed, as is the information as to whether the item contains accessories or if it is a configurable product.
Prerequisites
You have created products in your product master in SAP CRM under Accounts and Products
Process
You select a catalog area in your product catalog, and edit the item list by assigning products to the area.
Manual Assignment
You can assign products manually on an individual basis or by copying a catalog area. You tend to choose manual product assignment for marketing-oriented catalogs that are subjected to editorial controls.
Individual assignment
In this case you select the catalog area in which the product should be assigned, manually search for the product in the product master, and assign it to the area.
Copying items from catalog areas
You select an area or subarea from another catalog and copy it to your new catalog. The system copies all products from the copied area to the new catalog, as long as they belong to the distribution chain assigned to the target catalog variant. From these products, you can then manually determine which products from the copied area you want to keep and which items you wish to delete.
The following is true for manually assigned products:
You can activate or deactivate items on an individual basis.
You can edit the list of accessories for manually assigned products. The system determines which accessories are maintained for the product in the product master and displays them in the item area of the catalog. You select which accessories should be displayed for the product in the catalog and activate them.
Manually assigned products can be included or removed from catalog views on an individual basis.
Automatic Assignment
You can assign products automatically to a catalog by transferring product hierarchies from your product master to the catalog areas. The categories, items, attributes, and documents contained in the product hierarchy are copied to the new catalog.
You use automatic product assignment mainly for functional catalogs, where products can be copied with very few changes, from the product categories of the product master. It enables a standardized characterization of your products in the catalog.
The following is true for products assigned to the catalog using product hierarchy transfer:
Product categories which make up the hierarchies become catalog areas in the catalog.
Product categories in the product hierarchy must be assigned to the distribution chain to which the target catalog variant is assigned. Otherwise the category is not transferred. The same applies to the items, texts, and documents assigned to the category.
Items are always active and cannot be individually activated or deactivated.
Accessories maintained for transferred product in the product master are automatically included and displayed in the catalog.
Transferred items cannot be individually included in catalog views or removed from them. Instead all items of the hierarchy are always contained in the view.
Lists of characteristics for transferred categories and items can be automatically created when transferring product hierarchies. The transferred values are included in the item overview of the product catalog.

your query regarding the products you have uploaded from the R3,now as above i said how you maintain and create the product catalog ,you just assign the products uploaded from the R3 to the product cataloag created in CRM.

Problem while generating an Export DataSource in our Productive BW system

We are trying to generate an export data source in our productive system and for any infocube and we are getting the error "SAP System has status 'not modifiable', Choose 'Display Object' or 'Cancel'." please see the following steps to reproduce the error, for ODS's everything it's working just fine

Steps to Reproduce the error
Please follow the next steps in order to reproduce the error:
1. Logon into BW production system
2. Go to TX RSA1
3. Find infocube "XXXX"
4. Right bottom on your mouse, go to "Additional Functions" and then select "Generate Export Data Source"
5. You will get the following error "SAP System has status 'not modifiable', Choose 'Display Object' or 'Cancel'."
The error is only happening with infocubes, for ODS's everything it's working just fine.
We already check several notes and in RSA1 the "Transport Connection" --> "Object Changeability" and everything seems to be OK, we used to do it but "something happened" and we cannot do it anymore

We have a SAP 730 and SP08 so the note does not apply because we already have it

Transaction LS10 - mass creation of WM storage bins - in Production system
Hi,
Does someone know, if it is possible to make the Transaction LS10 open in a production environment where the customizing is
blocked for changes.
In the reality the users need to have this Transaction for Creating new bins in massive way. Up to now it is job of the IT and then
release the change request to production. But also the generation of the new bins is only in production system possible, when
it is open for a short term to create the new bins.

I hv a COreport(Cost Center Report).the data is coming from tables of CO,FI,SD,MM.
The Tables from CO are COEP,COSP,COSS,CSKS,CRHD,CSKU,CRCO,CSKB
The tables from SD are VBRK,KNA1
The Tables from MM are EKKO,LFA1.
The table from FI are SKAT,BKPF,BSIK,BSAK.
1)Can i create a view for these tables?Can a view be called a DS.
2)With these tables i hv Multiple DS's.So can i use Multiple DS's to extract data
3)Can i use FM to extract Data?If i use FM,vll i face errors during Support?
4)Please Guide me how to create Views for these tables and How to handle Multiple Datasources.

I think you have lot of options
FIrst You need to have a multiple data source
--> Check for suitable business content datasources
--> check whether these details are already available in BW through any means (through other standard datasources to ODS)
--> Create customized extractor finally as a last option
All these tables are atandard and nost probably you would find a standard datasource ( again multiple) I am sure for costing you have standard
Few or more standard datasources or already existing BW objexts with 1 or 2(rarely) customized extractor would do the purpose that you look for,....

AjayIf you create new plants - there is no adverse effect but you have to make sure that the plant you create is copying by the existing.
other things if you have any custom reports based on the plant then the new plant should be included, authorization needs to be consider if any basd on the plant,

Multiple production systems in a track??

Can anybody please let me know, if this is possible?
We have a production system (SCP) and a training system (SCN). I want to create a production track in the NWDI with just production systems. Can we have SCP and SCN in this track? I am asking this question because SCN gets its feed from SCP. SCN is a production system for a different wave.
Also, in another phase, we have the following systems (SD1, SRQ, SRV). SRQ feeds SRR (for dress rehearsal) and also feeds SR2 (for training in this phase). Also, SRV feeds SCP after cutover.
Could anybody please suggest the tracks for these systems?

As you mentioned you have already existing track. there is an option in Approval tab. In approval tab click on history button and then click on forward button there it will show all your SCA files. from there you can transfer to any of the target track. in your situation create a track with required systems and give this track name in target system. then all the SCA files will be transfred to checkin tab of newly created track. from there you can do the general import process.
try this once hope it will works....

One BW - One R/3 Development - Multiple R/3 Productive Systems
Dear experts,
we are at the moment having a classical 3-tier system environment.
1) R/3 Development --> BW Development
2) R/3 Consolidation --> BW Consolidation
3) R/3 Production --> BW Production
Due to increased system load on R/3 Production it is planned to create an additional R/3 Production System which also needs to be connected to the existing BW Production system...BUT there will be no additional R/3 Development or Consolidation systems. The new Production system will be feeded parallel with transports fro mthe existing development system.
Question:
On BW side we will need to create Source system-dependent objects (Transfer Structures, InfoPackages, etc), etc. which are connected to the new R/3 system. But we cannot do that as we do not have a corresponding R/3 Development system connected to our BW development system.
Anyone has an idea how to approach this issue?

I have a rough idea. Can you go to RSA1 of your BW production machine, in menu tools->conversion of source system names. Add a new line, and assign r/3 consolidation machine as "Original Source System" the second R/3 prod machine as target source system. Save and try transporting again.
I haven't such experience before and it's only my guess (your case is really special). Please validate it first
If not work, a stupid way is changing this table after the first importing for r/3 prod machine1, then import again for machine2...
