Multiple error cluster lines

Hallo LabVIEWers,
trying to make a good programming style, I implement error cluster inputs
and outputs on each of my VIs very thoroughly.
Now then, if I use eg the VI Server to call my VIs (call by reference node)
I have two error cluster outputs in my data flow, one from the Call by
reference and one from my own VI.
Now my question: How should I handle these two flows, is there a way to or
them together ? Should I ignore one of them ? Should I keep them seperate ?
Wiring the CallByReference output cluster to the own VI's input doesnt't
work because of cycle dataflow dependancies (of course)! What's a good
LabVIEW style and what are your suggestions ??
Thank you
Oliver

Under the Time&Dialog palette
Merge Errors
Lets you merge error I/O clusters from different functions. The function
first looks for errors among error in 1, error in 2 and error in 3, then
through error array in. The first error found is reported. If no errors are
found, the function then looks for warnings and returns the first warning
found. If no error warning is found, the function returns no error.
Click the parameters for more information.
If you're in LV5 you'll just have to implement a similar function.

    HI all,
I am getting an error while adding Destination for Notification.
On the Destination Tab, I am able to create MII System as Destination. And expanding the newly created Destination, i can see a child node 'Destination'. While clicking on this child node, i am getting an error as "there are multiple root elements Line 6, position 2"
    Can anybody please help.

    Hi,
While configuring MII Server details, instead of IP address of MII server, we gave domain name and it started working.

  • What would cause multiple error lines to appear using validator logic

What would cause multiple errors to appear for a single line as shown below. I coded Regular Expression Validator with a specific matching pattern and all the patterns work fine. When I key in an invalid pattern on a row I get the following errors dislayed. Why am I getting multiple error lines instead of one. Also when the data in the field is in error the field gets cleared. How do I fix this problem?
    Error
    java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)

Looks as though my RegEx script is not coded properly so it is causing the problem.
    This is my regex script
    8([0-9]{3})|8([0-9]{0,2}\%)
I changed the script above to the following to slowly build the script back to get rid of these multiple errors that are appearing. When I set my regex script to the following then I just get the one error line.
    ([0-9]{4})
I thought the regex script was working but when I key an invalid value I get 8 error lines as shown above. That should not be happening. This regex script
    8([0-9]{3})|8([0-9]{0,2}\%)
is to perform the following logic:
The field I am editing is 4 characters long.
    1) The first character must be an 8 and the next 3 charaters must be any character from 0-9
    OR
    2) The first character must be an 8, the next 0-2 characters must be any character from 0-9, the next non-blank character after any digits must be a wild card character of %
Examples: any number from 8000-8999, 8%, 8n%, 8nn% where n is any number from 0-9

  • Multiple Error message at Item Level....

    Hi all,
I have some doubt into display multiple error message from item level.
The scenario is, I have to run some validation at each line item. If validation fails error message is population. Now suppose user ignore the error message or with that error user creating new line item and again because of validation some error occurs, then both error message should display all together but system is displaying only last message not previous one. This is happening with both the classes CL_BSP_WD_MESSAGE_SERVICE' and CL_CRM_GENIL_GLOBAL_MESS_CONT.
But if I check same thing with standard validation all error message display all together.
Any suggestion through which I can combined all message and display together.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

Yes.I have tried ADD_MESSAGE method of the CL_BSP_WD_MESSAGE_SERVICE class.
    Thanks

    Any suggestion from experts..

  • Feedback nodes in Error cluster

    Some time back I
had posted a VI called Simple StateMachine template. Based on the
comments from fellow members I have redone it and am attaching it
    herewith. ( LV7.1 + Win_XP Professional )
If you just open it and check the block diagram, you will notice that
LV has introduced a feedback node in the error cluster looping between
DAQMx function Write Digital Output and Read Analog input. I am not
sure why LV does this even though the two functions have no common
    reference or relevance between them.
You can also try this : Just remove the data lines to the two Digital
Out functions, and also the error cluster with Feedback node . Rewire
the Error cluster but this time without the feedback node. And now if
you try to connect the Digital Out data lines, you will find that the
Data lines are drawn with feed back nodes !!
I am sure LV is trying to tell me something - only that I don't understand what it is. Can some one  elaborate on this ?
    Thanks

You have an impossible loop in your code (Run it with execution highlighting to verify):
Dig8-15 relies on data from the case structure.
analog input 0-7 provides data into the big case structure
This means that Dig8-15 cannot execute until the case has executed, but the case must wait for data from analog out. LabVIEW is smart enough to insert a feeback node such that AI0-7 gets the error from the previous interation. This is NOT a desirable situration.
Without the feedback node, yuor code is broken. AI0-7 cannnot run because it must wait for DO8-15 to execute. DO8-15 cannot execute because it must wait for AI0-7.
    You should:
Uncheck the diagram option "Auto insert feedback nodes in cycles" to make sure to get broken wires so it is easier to find the problem.
FIx your dataflow. Please make sure your wires flow left-to-right, it make errors like this less likely. You need to wire the error clusters in the order the subVIS execute.
I hope this is clear enough, but please ask is you continue to have problems. Good luck!

  • FODC0002 [{bea-err}FODC0002a]: Error parsing input XML: Error at line:2 col

I have an ODSI Physical Service that is based on a Java Function. The Java Function builds a SQL statement and uses JDBC to query for a ResultSet. One of the columns that is queried is a Clob. Sometimes, the data in this column causes an XMLBeans validation exception in ODSI: {err}XQ0027: Validation failed: error: decimal: Invalid decimal value: unexpected char '114'
The issue is not consistently replicable with particular database record, the database records that present this issue at one point in time will be resolved after a restart of ODSI and replaced by another list of records that present the same error.
As can be seen from the stack trace, it looks like the issue is happening after the database query has returned and while the process is assembling the SOAP response.

  • Multiple error messeges for the FB01 Fb05 and FBV1

    Hello Experts,
We are presently posting the IDocs through the above transactions. But we are facing issues with multiple error messeges. The multiple error messeges can not be identified all at once but only oncw we correct a particular error messege we can correct the next one.Is this possible through any BAPI Will the BAPI show all the error messeges at once ??
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

As of my knowledge, I don't think its possible through any BAPI or anythings else.
When you debug the program, you will find the error message during the program run.
Suppose you have the program with 100 lines.
One Error message come in line 40, then system will show the error message and stop reading the program again. When you solved the error, then system will again read the next (41) line.
You have to solve the error messages one by one.

  • Capturing multiple errors

I thought that the Merge Errors would show me multiple errors (if they occurred).  However, after reading more closely, I realized that Merge Errors will 'report the first error found'.  I have a situation where there are 2 and sometimes 3 possible sources of error that I'd like to funnel into one Error Out and display all three errors.  Is this possible, or do I have to have an Error Out for each Error in.

    Hi mrbean,
If you're still open to ideas, here are a couple of VIs - one for Building an error, the other for Merging two errors.  They will encorporate new error-info while preserving "existing" error-cluster information (even if it's non-fatal).  In the (relatively) rare instances where multiple error-clusters need to be merged, I just cascade the "binary"-merge!  Of course this isn't designed to address arrays of errors!
    Cheers.

  • LVRT error treat_cpp Line 1938

This weekend two PC's, that run for about 4 weeks my application (using NI-6034, and a lot of math calculations including FFTs, storing data to HDD), stopped nearly at the same time with the same message: "LVRT error treat_cpp Line 1938". OS Win2k, LVRT Version 6.1.
Can somebody help me how and where to investigate what
    it can be?

Usually, errors like this have are an issue with a shared resource. I don't have a definite solution because I have never seen this error, but you could try the followingt:
Disable multithreading in LabVIEW. Go to Edit » Preferences » Performance and Disk (or Tools » Options » Performance and Disk , depending on your version of LabVIEW) and uncheck "Run with Multiple Threads". You have to restart LabVIEW after making this change.
Make sure that your DLL is "Reentrant". Right-click on the Call Library Function and select "Configure" from the pop-up menu. There is a pulldown menu with two options: "Run in UI Thread" and "Reentrant". Select "Reentrant".
If you did an upgrade, did you mass compile all your VIs after installing the update? You can read th
e on-line help in LabVIEW to learn more about how to perform a mass compile (Tools » Advanced » Mass Compile).
Have you changed the priority and/or execution system of your main VI or any of your subVIs? If so, change them back to the standard values and see if that solves the problem (File » VI Properties » Execution).
Also, try running the application on another computer, just to see if the problem has to do with the computer hardware itself.

What operation causes it to be generated? I have never seen

  • Stub out Error Cluster from Error Code.vi?

When I profile my application, I find that the biggest consumer of CPU time is the Error Cluster from Error Code.vi, called from a number of locked NI libraries.  How can I stub out this .vi, replacing it with basically a pass-through?  I tried creating a project specific .vi with the same name, and when I open my project all the project and vi.lib .vis used link to it, but they all come up broken and have to be re-linked, which I can't do in the locked .vis (I matched the ins and outs and connector pattern).  I can't edit the Error Cluster...vi directly, getting a message about the .vi being used by another application even with a clean start of LV and going directly to that .vi in the library (and I would prefer to not mess with the vi.lib version anyway).  Any suggestions?  Thanks.  LV 2011.
    Matt

If you have the LLB manager open it reserves your VI in a different appliation instance, therefore it is locked and no editing.  Simply close the LLB manager and you can whack away at that VI.
I doubt that the shared clone setting plays much of a role here, there are some deeper issues.   A rather amusing VI in a few ways:
In order to show the VI Title instead of the Name you Open a VI reference which is going to stick you into the root loop.  10 reentrent clones simply means 10 copies waiting in line for the root loop.  A non-reentrent version would simply have 10 copies waiting to run.  Minus the root loop issue, reentrency is the way to go, and on a desktop machine shared clones is typically quite effective.
It can't be a slow VI, look Trim Whitespace was inlined manually to avoid a performance hit!  In a loop maybe, but really, shaving off the overhead of a single subVI?  That's optimization.
But wait, all of that and much, much more is given right back by the use of Delete From Array to remove the first element of the Array.  Bad on so many levels.    Delete From Array is a data copy machine, and now you are doing one needlessly.  Array subset is your friend here, tells the compiler you are only reading, nothing to get excited about. Pull it outside the case structure, you are ditching the first element twice in the two branches.
Concatenating strings in a loop, also a recipe for fun.  Often there are ways to leverage Array to Spreadsheet string for better performance, or build a string array and then concatenate at the end.  Probably not a big deal here, how big are call chains really, but if you are inlining subVIs by hand then you should really be frying the bigger fish.
I find myself in your shoes fairly often.  Some clunker in vi.lib causes a bug or sluggish performance.  You either ditch the NI code and roll your own, or make it work on your machine but not others, or chalk it up to the cost of doing business.  I have tried on numerous occasions to suggest that all patches to vi.lib be made readily and freely available to all previous versions of LV that are compatible.  Let's say this VI got tweaked so it was a bit more performant for you, at least enough to be viable.  Then you could happily use the patched version in LV11, and if you went to a different machine you would simply make sure vi.lib was up-to-date.  These types of patches could roll out incrementally as needed, less need to cross your fingers that you won the CAR lottery with each new version of LV.  (I guess most lottery winners don't shell out $$$ to collect their "winnings" though).
After all that what would I do here?  I would wrap that sucker inside a disable structure (provide minimal functionality, like pass through caller name, code and error instead).  Then I would check the performance again.  Now you have a data point as to whether or not it is worth it to proceed.

  • Adobe CS6 PhoneGap Build Service JavaScript error: At line 565

    Hello everyone,
We need some help, when I click on REBUILD APPLICATION (PhoneGap Build Service) I get a dreamweaver pop up box that says:
While executing onClick in PhoneGap Build Service.htm the following Java error:
At line 565 of file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS6\Configuration\PhoneGapBuildPlugin\js\PhoneGapPlugin.js": Keys has no properties
What can I do to solve this?
    Thanks

    Hi billabear.
Charbarred is correct that the answer lies in that discussion; however, there are multiple answers in there and it may be unclear exactly what the solution is. Essentially, you need to re-create the project settings file for the app you are building, since it contains erroneous data.
See the response from Ken Barklage in the same discussion Charbarred mentioned: http://community.phonegap.com/nitobi/topics/dreamweaver_now_cant_build_after_todays_update _please_help#reply_10869042
