Multiple file operation

Hi. I am new to Diadem scripting and need to write a script to perform a data treatment task on a large number of daily measurement TDMS files (sequentially numbered). The script needs to open each file individually (as they are very large), save the result in a new file, repeat for the next file and so on. I cannot find any such example on the exchange forum or in postings but apologies if this already exists.
Would anybody have a simple example script of something similar which I could modify? I just need an idea of the main commands.

Because I'm new to the world of diadem en the scripting world
The summary report is not really fancy
Only 1 sheet with a 2-D Display Report , no statistic calculations, for the moment
We are doing an endurance test, with some intermediate checks (Force travel measurement)
The raw data of each measurements are stored in seperated folders.
This data is analysed (smoothed, .. ) and should be reported against all the previous measurments
To make my life easier, I made 1 summary file.
Which contains all the wanted data, each measurement in a seperated group and create a view -> report from this data
But I should prefer to create the report directly from the different files without creating the summary file.
Wost case I have to create a script which is able to add a new folder/file to the summary file and update/ add new data to the report.
an exmaple of both solutions is appreciated

How do you select multiple files on a macbook pro?

Can anyone tell me how to select multiple files at one time? I am so frustrated with the way macbook pro works that I really regret buying it. I hate that you can't select multiple files, and that my contact stuff keeps changing. It is certainly not like I was told...that I would never want to use a PC again. I would not buy another apple computer. I spent a lot of money to NOT be able to do things that I have always done with ease. Every time I think I have something figured out, it doesn't work the next time I go to use it in another program. If anyone has an answer to this, I would sure appreciate it.
And all of these so called wonderful updates to the operating system on all mac products have left me frustrated and liking my apple products far less than I did before. On my iphone I had to make the texts just huge to even be able to see the white writing on a blue background. Not sure who made these designs, but from my perspective, I can tell you they certainly weren't thinking about being user friendly in any way when they did it. So disappointed in all of my devices! I do not enjoy using my computer, ipad, or iphone even close to what I did before.

To select multiple files you can use the shift key with the mouse if they are in a contiguous list or the CMD key with the mouse if you have breaks in that list. You can also use the mouse to drag over the files you want to select.
The Macs are easy to use, I have used many versions of Windows, Linux and other operating systems and I find OS X is far the easiest, but that is me.
There are many instructional videos and texts on Apples web site and if you are near to an Apple store they do classes to help.
Hope you get used to it.

How do I use Finder to modify file details in multiple files

I am new to the mac (OS10.7.4) having recently transitioned from Windows (and go way back to CPM - for those that remember). I am trying to achieve through finder what I can do in windows explorer by selecting multiple files, selecting properties and then selecting (and then modifying) details. I tried the similar thing on Finder using Get Info instead of Properties but only ended up with multiple windows, one for each file selected (and had to close each one individually! ). Tried 'option-command-I' on multiple selected files, it worked, but the common tags that I wanted to alter where not available for editing. I can simply, but clumsily, achieve the outcome I want by cutting and pasting the files to a usb stick, making the modifications on the windows machine and pasting them back on the mac. This should be a simple basic operating system function regardless of platform - advice on how to find/achieve it appreciated!

I find it best to use small little apps to help modify many files. Just serach for what you want to change and more often then not, you find software that does what you need, often free too.

Attach multiple files to a List Item in SharePoint 2013

Hi Guys,
I have a customer that want to attach multiple files to single list item in a dialog box. like Datasheet View, if we set up a Datasheet View and click on the Attachment cell, it opens a dialog box that allow to select and attach multiple files as one operation.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
As we know, if we want to attach multiple files, it only allow me to attach one file at a time, then repeat this process for every other file.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to upload multiple files in SharePoint list.
There is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.

Getting error while uploading multiple files in sharepoint hosted app in 2013 with REST API

In one of my tasks, I was struck with one issue, that is "While uploading multiple files into custom list with REST API".
Iam trying to upload multiple files in library with REST calls for an APP development, my issue is if i wants to upload 4 image at once its storing only
3 image file and further giving "Conflict" error". Below is the attached screenshot of exact error.

THis is common issue if your file size exceeds
upload a document of size more than 1mb. worksss well for kb files.

Creation of multiple files as per segment repeating multple times in IDOC

i have got a requirement where in an IDOC to File Interface pi need to create 3 different files with same content but with different names based on single Idoc-Segment.
its an IDOC to 3 File Inteface.
the file names will be determined by the IDOC-SEGMENT(Zregion)-Field (where Zregion Which will repeate for 3 times )
for achiving this
i just created 3 message (Service )Interfaces and one message mapping,3 Interface(Operation) mappings in the design and In the configuration i created three reciever communication channels with one reciever detarmination ,one Interface determination and 3 reciever agreements (with 3 communication channels 1 for each)
in the Interface Determination i just defined 3 operation mappings,3 reciever Service Interfaces with one condition each.
the condition is like below
(/ZARTMAS05/IDOC/Z1EDRMDFRH_REGION01/REGION = JNB) then Rec Interface1
(/ZARTMAS05/IDOC/Z1EDRMDFRH_REGION01/REGION = DBN) then Rec Interfacde2
(/ZARTMAS05/IDOC/Z1EDRMDFRH_REGION01/REGION = CPT) then Rec Interface 3 where (/ZARTMAS05 is the sender idoc.
but iam getting only one file in the reciever side instead of 3 files.
can any body help me in providing me the differnt solutions for this without use of any script executions.

what ever you designed if you want to create always three files then your approach is correct.
if you want create multiple files based on all the condition you you have to change the logic as like below.
your message mapping sould me - one source target message type -> three traget message type all are occurance is 0..1
and check the message type level contion if the region=ABCD create the first message type..
same thing in your interface determination one source interface -> target three interface occrance is 0..1
ID Steps - 1 RD, 1 ID, 3 Receiver coom channesl and 3 receiver aggreee...
after develope this scenario it will split different message types in SXMb_MONI under the Technical Routing...payload level.
hope it will help you to solve your requirement...

Acrobat 9 Pro - Batch Create Multiple Files from InDesign CS5 files

When attempting to batch create PDFs from Indesign CS5 files using Acrobat Pro 9's File>Create PDF>Batch Create Multiple Files ... option the operation fails with the error 'Could not find the application that created this file: [path to file] Please select a file created by an application that resides on your computer.' as shown in the screenshot below:
Acrobat 9 Professional was bundled with Creative Suite 5 Design Standard so shouldn't this work? My machine is running OS X 10.6.7, Acrobat Pro 9.44 and InDesign CS5 7.04.
Any help to solve this issue would be most gratefully received - this feature had previously saved me a lot of time on my old machine with 10.5.8, Acrobat Pro 9 and CS4.

The first file is the problem file. If you create this file separately, Acrobat will convert it perfectly. But "Batch create multiple files" and the graphics are deconstructed on page 8

Idoc to Multiple file scenario

Hi Experts,
My scenario is IDOC to Multiple files..
IDOC will be triggered from the ECC system and i have three differient structures and need to drop those 3 files in the ftp server at the target system.
Here we can use multimapping for such scenario but the problem here is ..
In my scenario for all the 3 mappings i am using combination of message mapping and xslt mapping as below
1st case:
Idoc -
Message mapping -
Target First File.
XSLT Mapping1
XSLT Mapping2
XSLT Mapping3
XSLT Mapping4 -
The output of the xslt 4th mapping will go to the target ftp server
In similar for the other 2 mappings also uses the combination of messag mapping and xslt mapping.
Here as the receiver system is one in the interface determination (PI 7.1-- NO Enhanced determination)when i add these operation mapping in the interface determination when i execute the scenario all the operation mappings are not getting executed.
For example;; If the first target file has no records then it is not executing the 2nd operaion mapping, does the occurence of the operation mapping needs to changed.
could anyone suggest on this..

Hi,
Why cannot you use three mappings when you want to generate the three files for the same input instead of multimapping as the multimapping generates either of the three messages only...
you can later provide the condition at the interface determination to execute the mappings if not all mappings to be executed..
if there are no conditions provided by you at the interface determination level then mappings will get executed automatically..
provided your mapping is working fine..so in your case check /test the message mapping..

Which operating system? ("Command Prompt" sounds like Windows)
UNIX/Linux: a shell script with multiple calls to sqlldr run in the background with "&" (and possibly nohup)
Windows: A batch file using "start" to launch multiple copies of sqlldr.

Uploading Multiple files in One-Click!!!

Hi All,
I have got nearly about 900 PDF files in my file server which need to be uploaded to the KM CONTENT Repository.
what is the best methodology to upload all these file in to the repository in one click.
Is it possible to achieve this??

I just followed your way. i copied the WebDAV URL and pasted and executed in a new browser. and i get....
The folder you are looking for has no displayable content.
You can try one of the following:
Access the folder using the Navigation user interface.
Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work. "
When i choose "Web Folder", i get a pop up and it says "The web folder address Internet Explorer was given was too long. Please use a shorter address."
When i choose "Navigation User Interface", iam taken to the default KM Folder.
I nowhere able to see the folder structure like what you have mentioned in your reply.
Kindly help me out.

Working with Multiple Files in Workspace Layout

If I was working with multiple files in the workspace layout, they each used to be available for selection from a tab. Now I can either cascade the files horizontally or vertically - but not have them appear in a tab across the top of the workspace layout.
Does anyone know how to set the workspace to present multiple files in tabs? I have CS3.

This may not help, but the times when that happens to me is when I go too fast and some operations haven't finished. I then try to select a file that hasn't completed and the file I select is in the process of having the data updated. The worst is when it is trying to render as I am doing something.

Acrobat 9 - Batch Create Multiple Files

Hopefully someone can help me with this problem, or at least shed some light on it for me.
I am using Acrobat 9. I have Creative Suite 4 (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) There is a new feature in Acrobat 9 called "Batch Create Multiple Files", which can be found in the File menu, under "Create PDF".
This feature is supposed to create pdfs from multiple native file types, including InDesign. Acrobat uses the native application, in this case InDesign CS4, to open each file selected in the batch and then create a pdf file from it. This would be a really cool feature if I could get it to work.
Each time I try to run this, I get an error message stating "Cannot open the document". I have an operator who can get this to work, if they use CS3 InDesign documents (she also has CS3 installed on her mac), which doesn't make sense to me because Acrobat 9 is a part of CS4.
Is it possible that I am missing a plug-in? Has anyone experienced a similar problem, or does anyone have a solution for me?

You should remember that Acrobat 9 Pro came out BEFORE InDesign CS4. It has not yet had an update. The release InDesign CS4 format DID NOT EXIST when Acrobat 9 Pro came out, so it cannot yet convert it.
You'll have to wait for an update to Acrobat 9 Pro.

FTP Adapter to poll multiple files (different formats)

Hi,
We have a requirement to poll and process multiple files from a given FTP location(either process all or reject all - reject if there is any failure in one of the files).
Using FTP Adapter's Get File operation(Schema Opaque), we are able to read three different file formats and can get the file name(Using header variable FileName).
And we are hoping to process the file contents based on the File Name that we get from the above step.
1) How do we convert the file contents from Opaque to specific Schema (ex: file1.csv, file2.csv and file3.csv with different formats)?
2) As the requirement is to process all the files at the same time, Can we use correlation in the poller process to route to single controller process(One instance of Controller process for all the files)?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I've used the Java embed to convert Base64 content to String. And using 'translateFromNative' extension, I could convert it to the desired XML content.
But I still have trouble in polling and processing all the files(file1.csv, file2.csv and file3.csv) at the same time using a single controller process.
My requirement is to process all the three files at the same time(for any failures I have to compensate any/all of inserted records).
I tried using Pick(with different OnMessage branches), but as they are polling the same location I could see only one OnMessage branch is getting fired resulting in multiple instances.
May be I didn't understand your suggestion correctly, could you please elaborate on the possibility of processing multiple files at the same time?

Process Multiple Files in PSE 7

I'm running PSE7.
I'd like to take a group of images (jpeg's) and do the following to them:
Run QuickFix on them.
Save them as a new file with the name based on the original name plus some extra information.
Resize the jpeg's to a size suitable for the web. Or possibly a little larger.
It would really be great if:
I could use a 'tag' to select the images I want to process.
The tags on the new images are the same as the originals.
The new files are written into the same folder as the original. Even if multiple folders are needed due to
the tags bringing in images from multiple folders.
The new images would become part of a version set or stack along with the originals.
Well, that's what's I'm interested in doing.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciatted!

The Process Multiple Files command applies settings to a folder of files. If you have a digital camera or a scanner with a document feeder, you can also import and process multiple images. (Your scanner or digital camera may need an acquire plug‑in module that supports actions.)
When processing files, you can leave all the files open, close and save the changes to the original files, or save modified versions of the files to a new location (leaving the originals unchanged). If you are saving the processed files to a new location, you may want to create a new folder for the processed files before starting the batch.
Note: The Process Multiple Files command does not work on multiple page files.
Choose File > Process Multiple Files.
Choose the files to process from the Process Files From pop‑up menu:
Folder
Processes files in a folder you specify. Click Browse to locate and select the folder.
Import
Processes images from a digital camera or scanner.
Opened Files
Processes all open files.
Select Include All Subfolders if you want to process files in subdirectories of the specified folder.
For Destination, click Browse and select a folder location for the processed files.
If you chose Folder as the destination, specify a file-naming convention and select file compatibility options for the processed files:
For Rename Files, select elements from the pop‑up menus or enter text into the fields to be combined into the default names for all files. The fields let you change the order and formatting of the components of the filename. You must include at least one field that is unique for every file (for example, filename, serial number, or serial letter) to prevent files from overwriting each other. Starting Serial Number specifies the starting number for any serial number fields. If you select Serial Letter from the pop-up menu, serial letter fields always start with the letter “A” for the first file.
For Compatibility, choose Windows, Mac OS, and UNIX® to make filenames compatible with the Windows, Mac OS, and UNIX operating systems.
Under Image Size, select Resize Images if you want each processed file resized to a uniform size. Then type in a width and height for the photos, and choose an option from the Resolution menu. Select Constrain Proportions to keep the width and height proportional.
To apply an automatic adjustment to the images, select an option from the Quick Fix panel.
To attach a label to the images, choose an option from the Labels menu, then customize the text, text position, font, size, opacity, and color. (To change the text color, click the color swatch and choose a new color from the Color Picker.)
Select Log Errors That Result From Processing Files to record each error in a file without stopping the process. If errors are logged to a file, a message appears after processing. To review the error file, open with a text editor after the Batch command has run.
Click OK to process and save the files.

Building array and writing to multiple files

Greetings,
I have a VI wherein, I am collecting data from 3 channels (using Global Virtual Channels with scaling). I am collecting 100 samples at a time with sampling frequency of 1000 Hz. I am then taking average and st. dev of 100 data points/channel and write it to a file (‘*.dat’). I would like to limit the file size to 1000 entries, and so after that limit is reached I would like to create a new file and write the subsequent set of data to the next file and so on. I am doing this in a case structure, wherein I build an array of the values until the condition of file limit is reached and then I write that array to a ‘*.dat’ file. (I’m hoping that this logic is correct, if not please suggest the correct method)
I am also taking average and st. dev of data/channel over period of 1 sec and write it to another ‘*.sum’ file. The VI has other features like writing time stamp to file, stopping the VI after preset time limit is reached or certain safety limit is reached.
When I run the VI, I get an error message:
Error 7 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Global Channel with Multiple file Write.vi
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS X, and / on Linux. Verify that the path is correct using the command prompt or file explorer.

I did try that but it does not solve the problem. I think I'm missing something while building the array in the Case Structure. I would like to write the average & st. dev values/channel in an array while the loop coount < file limit, and once the file limit is reached write that array to a *.dat file. And keep repeating this procedure till the target time is reached.
Another issue that I discovered is that TestFile_1.dat is not generted, after TestFile_0.dat TestFile_2.dat gets generated. I'm not sure why this is happening.
I would really appreciate if you would take another look and suggest some debugging tips.
