Multiple group currency consolidation

if the consolidation is required to be done globally in USD and regional consolidation in different currencies...It is mandatory to create  seperate consolidation area if the group currency differs...
or can I handle by different versions...
Please share your experience ... which one is ideal...

Hi,
Agreed that it is not necessary to have a seperate version for multiple Grp Currencies...It might be relevant for you to consider creating a version however...if it can simplify your process. I do not believe it is possible to copy data between 'group currencies'...meaning that if you consolidate in multiple group currencies, then you need to load your data numerous times (data collection).
We had complex data collection and many validations. They also posted local currency journal entries. In this scenario, the country performed a local consolidation (in the local group currency) first...and thereafter head office would need to consolidate.
Rather than reload the data and have to 'repost' all manual document types, it was easier to copy the data that had already been loaded, validated and consolidated.
To do this, I created a "Currency Version" (e.g. USD) and was then able to copy the data out of the local currency version (e.g. AUD) into the group currency version (USD). The value for the Currency version should always equal the actual group currency selected (either create a validation to achieve this OR populate it automatically in the background).
I would be interested to hear of other thoughts / ideas.

  • Multiple Group Currencies

    Hi Team,
We have six consolidation groups with different currencies,I have following clarifications about execution of consolidation:
Our requirement is to see the consolidated financials of all consolidation groups in their respective currencies for our internal requirement. I have not specified any group currency in my consolidation area, as we can use multiple group currencies.
1.Can I process  all tasks of the consolidation from the lowest consolidation group to the top- in aggregation pattern keeping the immediate parent company's currency as group currency in the parameters. what will be the impact of this.
2.Do I have to repeat all tasks again, when I execute my final consolidation which is in INR , since I could have already completed my lower consol groups.
    Kind Regards

I don't think adding a group currency (currency type 30) in a live system is as simple as shutting down the system and moving the transport, even if you plan to do it at the end of a fiscal year.  This might work for future postings (after you do the necessary configuration settings, in spite of the warning that SAP issues in OB22 when you add an additional currency), but think about how will you get the group currency amount for historical postings - without this you will not be able to pull balance to date in group currency for let's say a balance sheet account.
SAP SLO Services helps with introducing additional currency in a live system - System Landscape Optimization | Data and Technology Services | SAP
On the OB22 question in your response, you are right - 1st local currency is company code currency, 2nd could be your group currency.  Third is for hard currency, index-based currency, or global compay currency.  See below:
    Hard currency
Hard currency is a country-specific second currency which is used in
    countries with high inflation.
    Index-based currency
Index-based currency is a country-specific fictitious currency which is
required in some countries with high inflation for external reporting (for
    example, tax returns).
    Global company currency
Global company currency is the currency which is used for an internal
    trading partner.
On the last question that you have on offline conversion, yes exchange rate is the key for that.  I think the recommended approach for group currency conversion is to use monthly average rate for income statement accounts, and month-end rate for balance sheet accounts.

  • Ability to perform Fx Translation During Consolidation for multiple group currencies

    Hi Experts,
We have a BPC 7.5 MS system with 4 group currencies USD EUR etc.    We would like to have a currency translation to all of them as a result of consolidation, at the base group level (G_NONE).
    Is this functionality possible?
Has anyone been able to do so?
Currently, we can run FX restatement, which performs the translation to the 4 reporting currencies, but when we run consolidation all results but the final top node reporting currency is deleted.
We noted the multiple currencies in the group dimension (Consoscope) G_NONE and corporate consoscopes but it did not work.  The 4 currencies are noted as "R" reporting currencies CURRENCY_TYPE
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Eyal

    Hi Eyal,
Can you be more specific? Do you mean all the result is deleted? Can you provide some screenshots to explain what the symptom is and what the result you are expecting.
    Best regards,

  • Currency tranlation in case of Multiple group currency

    From SAP help:
You want to report in two currencies on the subgroup level: You disclose the subgroup result in the first group currency while reporting the subgroup result to corporate headquarters in their group currency
    My scenario:
I have subgroups B,C and top consolidation group as A
Subgroups B, C consolidate in EUR and  Group A in USD.
    1)
When i want to run my consolidation for sub groups -
All i have to do is go and change the group currency in my Permanent parameters.
    Is this correct?
Also - can i use a copy function in this case (i.e. without creating any versions)?
(System does not allow me to specify a source and target grp currency without specifying the source and target versions)
    2)
If I want to achieve this by multiple versions
    I configure -3 consolidation versions - 001, 002 n 003
Make consolidation unit hierarchy as version dependent (define and assign Spl versions)
In my versions 002, 003 i maintain only the consolidation subgroups B n C respectively.
Create a Copy function which involves-
    Three Copy methods X, Y n Z;
One copy Task with method assignment dependent on Company
Assign methods accordingly to each company.
Is this the correct way to do it or is there an alternative through special versions definition for Copy?
Do i have to worry about anything else?
    Thanks in Advance!

    1. Yes - change grp curr in parameters and execute copy and translation - source and target versions may be the same
    2. because you have chosen to use different version for each grp curr, the above mentioned copy must be for differing source and target versions
I see no reason to make hierarchy version-dependent other than to exclude group A from having both EUR and USD grp currs. However, it is perfectly okay to have this dependency.
Unless there is missing information, I see no reason for separate copy methods/tasks or for assigning copy methods based on company.

  • Consolidation in Multiple Group Currencies - Copy

    Hi,
does one of you have any experience in copying all data from one version, say USD, to another one, say EUR. We intend to achieve that via copy tasks through the monitor, obviously we need three of them (level 00, level 10 and others). We do not intend to post in the second currency. So in order to keep the monitor as simple as possible we intend to create another version for the second currency which will only have the absolute minumum of tasks, so BCF, 3 copy tasks and maybe a validation.
Have not tested yet, but would be keen to get some feedback from you guys.
    thanks, Clemens

    Hi,
our experiences are somewhat similar - they are very good.
So far we have not encountered any problem, expect that we are waiting for SAP to solve an issue (we could not customize PCC at all, so we could not test copying of 02/12/22/30). Have to say that we have not finished testing yet.
We will most likeley load&copy using the cumulative option, however, we are a bit flexible and will have another look at that setting upon finishing testing.
    regards, Clemens

  • How to restrict Group Currency to Version

    Hi
I am looking into multiple group currency consolidation, using different versions.
My question, is it possible to restrict the Group Currency by version.
E.g., I want version 100 to be restricted to group currency GBP, and version 999 to be restricted to group currency USD.
    Regards
    M

    Thanks Eugene
I appreciate I can specify in the Parameters the relevant combinations.
However what I want to do is restrict whats acceptable in the parameters, that is
GBP & v.999 or USD & v.100 should not be allowed to be entered.
Because you can have 2 group currencies in a single version, then I am not sure how this would be restricted.
    Thanks

  • SUB-Group consol. in different currency i.e. other than group currency

    HI Friends,
Consolidation Group currency is "USD". In the consolidation hierarchy, i have one sub group where all the companies are in AUD.
Now the requirement is that australian sub group requires sub consolidation in AUD.
Currently we are doing sun consolidation and the results are as expected, but they are in group currenmcy "USD".
Is there any option to get the sub groupconsolidation report in AUD i.e. different than group currency.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Richard

    Hi ,
    Yes it is possible.
Direct in UCMON and change your group currency, but you must do again full proces consoidation in this group currenct,  or in  your query (query designer) you create a new report and use transaltion currency direct in report.

  • SEM BCS - Multple group currencies

    Hello everyone,
I would like to share a scenario from my current implementation.
We decided to perform currency translation in FI and bring the translated numbers into BCS. Group currency would be USD.
At the same time this client has local GAAP requirement. They want to perform consolidation in their local currency. There will be a separate hierarchy for this group of companies in BCS.
I know we can have multiple group currencies in BCS. How do we set up multiple group currencies in a single consolidation area?
Can anyone come across similar situations?
Would you please share your ideas?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Very simply  ;=))) Just create a hierarchy of products, nodes of products groups and the products themselves. Everything is to be created in one frame.

  • Multi currency consolidation..

    Hi,
I need to extract the data for consolidation in 2 group currency USD, EURO. We arein ECC6.0 NEWGL
Leading ledger has only Company code currency and Group currency (USD).
But we have to do the consolidation in USD as well as in EURO.
In ECC Can the leading ledger maintain the data in only one group currency? For consolidation purpose how is the 2nd group currency maintained in ECC?
Is the 2nd group currency maintained in leading or non-leading ledger?
    Please share your experience.

In my experiences, the EUR group currency is not needed in ECC as BCS can provide the consolidation in both USD and EUR group currencies. One way to accomplish this is to first load and consolidate the data in USD and subsequently use the copy task, which can include a translation method, to bring the data into the EUR group currency consolidation.

  • Consolidation package multiply the amounts introduce on group currency

    Dear Experts,
When we run the Consolidation Package twice, consolidation amounts
on consolidation group are multiplied base on the number of groups each
    entity belong to.
We modified the DataSrc property IS_CONVERTED as a previous post suggests
then everything looks ok but the amounts introduced on Group Currency.
Parameterization for the data sources used for group currency manual
    adjustments is:
    - DataSrc Type: M
    - IS_CONSOL: Y
    - IS_CONVERTED: G
We tried to modify the property IS_CONVERTED to u201CYu201D, the amounts are
erased because nothing is posted on LC, as expected. If we change the
property to u201CNu201D, the amounts are not copied to the Group, it means no
    consolidated.
Any solution? It only happens with the amounts introduced on Group Currency, but at consolidated level, I mean the amount on group currency remains ok, but consolidated value for this amounts it duplicated, any idea why? Someone indentiy any lack on the parametrization?
    Thank and regards,
    Iria

    Hi again,
To limit the problem, the multiplied amounts are the ones introduced on Group Currency only. But the problem doesn't have any relation with the Currency Conversion, because it is done perfectly.
As a work around, we are deleting all the consolidated figures before run the Automatic Adjustments again, but the performances is not sustainable (more than 1 hour).
    Thanks and regards,
    Iria

  • Multiple groups in a Matrix

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a Matrix with multiple grouping. I haven't used SSRS in a few years and I'm struggling.
I'm trying to show count of staff and total salary as columns grouped by contract type, business area as the rows and then make it look like I have a table like this for each currency that staff are paid in. I.e. for each currency I want to repeat the column
    headers.
I've created a matrix with the business area as the row group and contract type as the column group. The columns for head count and total pay has been done by inserting inside group on the column but I can't seem to figure out how to repeat the headers as
    I want them.
    Thanks,

    Hi AndyRL,
If I understand correctly, you created a Matrix with currency, business area as rows, count of staff and total salary grouped by contract type as columns. You want to keep headers visible while scrolling. If so, there could be two scenarios:
Set row headers visible while scrolling
    1. Right-click the Table Header row and select Tablix Properties.
    2. In the Row Headers section, select the “Keep headers visible while scrolling” checkbox, then click OK.
Set column headers visible while scrolling
    1. Right-click the Table Header row and select Tablix Properties.
    2. In the Column Headers section, select the “Keep headers visible while scrolling” checkbox, then click OK.
If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.
    Thanks,
    Wendy Fu

  • FCTR calculations not showing in Group currency after SPRUNConversion

    Hi,
We are working on legal consolidation. We are following a two step process, in the first step the LC is getting converted into Reporting Curencies and the FCTR differences are being calculated and stored in defined FCTR accounts through script logic.
In the second step we are converting the Reporting currencies into a Group Currency using SPRUNconversion. After this step all the RC's are getting into GC except the FCTR accounts. We have checked the properties of these accounts (Ratetype etc) and they are all properly set. The values of FCTR in reporting currencies are also getting deleted. Any help on why this is happening.
    Thanks,
    Prasanth.

    Hi Abhinav,
Its not mandatory to follow a two step process, we are doing so because of clients requirement.
Usually the standard currencies you want to use for reporting are marked as 'R'. To use a Group currency define a group in your currency dimension and mark that currency_type as 'G' and give it a currency (usually one of the reporting currencies).
You can then run SPRUNConversion with the third parameter (currency) blank and run it once again with the Groups name that you defined as GC. This will show your LC values in reporting currencies and Group currencies.
    Thanks,
    Prasanth.

  • Realized Exhange rate in Group Currency

    Dear all,
I've issues with Group Currency. I have 2 company codes, one (1000) uses USD & one (2000) use SGD. Group currency is USD.
In company code 1000, I have customer invoice in 1000 USD. After that, I post without clearing for customer payment 1000 USD. Then, I clear this customer by t-code F-32 (also curency USD)
Normally, when clearing customer by this t-code, system with generate a document with has no entry. But in my system, when do this, system will generate an entry like this:
    In document currency
    Debit Customer 0 USD
    Credit Realized ExRate 0 USd
    In Local Currency:
    Debit Customer 0 USD
    Credit Realized ExRate 0 USd
    In Group Currency:
    Debit Customer 1000 USD
    Credit Realized ExRate 1000- USd
So, the result will be wrong when I issue consolidation reports at month end.
Do you know how to correct this ?
Thank you very much for your help,
    Best regards,
    Sylvecat.

Hi pls check foreign curency valuation method  in that few check boxess or there which u need for ur requirement that one uselect . i think as for ur issue u did selecte reset checkbox pls remove that one
Once u selected reset check boxt then the open items are valuated at the aquisation price . this way the valuation differenceis set zero.the old valuation method is reset.so the account determination is reversed:the revenue that arisesis posted to the expence account.

  • SAP Report to view GL Balances in Group Currency.

    Hello,
Can any one help me out to know SAP reports which will help me out to know GL Balances in Group Currency.
    Thanks,
    Bala

    Hi,
There are multiple reports wherein you can select the currency type while generating the account balances report.
    e.g.
    S_ALR_87012277 - G/L Account Balances
    S_ALR_87012301 - Totals and Balances
Both these report have Currency Type as a selection criteria, which will help you generate the balances in Group currency, if required.
