Multiple lines in Ad Hoc query

I am working on a query for the Benefits team. In my output with other details I also want the SSN no. of Dependents. The SSN no is stored in IT0106 and the dependent information in iT0021 and IT0167. I created an Infoset and added IT0106, when I select SSN as output I get 4 lines for each dependent. E.g. one employee has 2 child, so the output has total 5 rows including the employee. How can i prevent multiple rows to be displayed.
Points will be rewarded for helpful answer.

Try mapping/joining the begin date & end date from IT0021 & IT0106.

  • SAP Query with Multiple lines

    HI Team,
Can we create multiple lines in an SAP Query? If yes, how (pls explain the steps)?
Like can we have a line for the employee, next for spouse & then the next for child, so on...and then the next employee details.
Also, there might be fields which will repeat in most of these lines for each employee.
    Thanks

  • Select query in case of Multiple line items

    Hi Gurus ,
I've a doubt in general SQL select query. I want to know , if suppose I've an internal table - itab . I've fetched G/L Account numbers 1st, based on the input selections . Next , I want to loop on those G/L accounts. However, if the G/L account has multiple line items, then I personally use this select query -- >
    loop at itab.
select <field> from <table> appending corresponding fields of  <itab1> where hkont eq itab-hkont.
    endloop.
Now, the execution time for this query is longer than expected. The biggest problem here is, i've to sum up the totals as well. So totaling is an added load. I want to reduce the execution time of this. Kindly suggest me some good method in case u have any.
I've pasted the code which I've written , for u ppl to understand--
    SELECT DISTINCT HKONT BELNR
      FROM BSIS
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE OTAB
        WHERE HKONT IN S_RACCT
    *      AND PRCTR IN P_PRCTR
          AND MONAT IN S_POPER
          AND BUKRS EQ P_BUKRS
          AND GJAHR EQ P_GJAHR
          AND PRCTR IN S_PRCTR.
***The code below takes a lot of time to execute.***
    LOOP AT OTAB .
      SELECT DMBTR HKONT
FROM BSIS APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE CREDITS
        WHERE HKONT EQ OTAB-HKONT
          AND BELNR EQ OTAB-BELNR
          AND MONAT IN S_POPER
          AND BUKRS EQ P_BUKRS
          AND GJAHR EQ P_GJAHR
          AND PRCTR IN S_PRCTR
          AND SHKZG EQ 'H'.
      COLLECT CREDITS.
    ENDLOOP.

    Hi,
First of all try to avoid doing select into corresponding fields. THis would improve the performance of the program.
Try to do a single fetch from the BSIS table . fetch the hkont, belnr, dmbtr fields in to a master internal table. Manipulate and play with the data as required.  Don't hit the data base table more than once (unless it is required) . This would improve the performance of your code.
    Try to code this way.
    types: begin of ty_bsis,
                 hkont type hkont,
                 belnr type  belnr_d,
                 dmbtr type dmbtr,
              end of ty_bsis.
data: it_bsis type standard table of ty_bsis,
             wa_bsis type ty_bsis,
    select hkont belnr dmbtr
              from bsis
              into table it_bsis
              WHERE HKONT IN S_RACCT
            AND PRCTR IN P_PRCTR
              AND MONAT IN S_POPER
             AND BUKRS EQ P_BUKRS
             AND GJAHR EQ P_GJAHR
              AND PRCTR IN S_PRCTR.
Using the data availabe in the it_bsis, you can manipulate as required.
    Hope this would be helpful

  • Ad-hoc query - data on one line pr.employee

    Hi,
I try to get data on one line from ad-hoc reporting. When I choose to report on several IT0105 subtypes, the subtypes are written out on one line each pr. employee. This does not look good, and is a hazal to our customer since they need to edit the report in excel. I have tried to code the switches "PERSON_ONLY_ONCE" and "LAST_DATA_ONLY" without results. Any hints/tip?
    Thank you,
    Kind regards
    Hilde

    hello hilde,
I think it is not possible to do it with ad-hoc.
you have to use query itself, with creating your own layout.

  • Using multiple lines of query in sqlcmd using -q switch

    Hello
I am trying to use sqlcmd to run a set of sql statements. If I use -i switch and input a file with sql statements, it is working fine, but I am trying to use the sql statements using -q to avoid the creation of the input file. But I am not having luck with
-q, can someone let me know if putting multiple lines of code is possible in -q switch like below?
A simple restore command like below. If I use the whole restore command in single line it works fine like below:
    sqlcmd -E -S servername -d master -Q "restore database bestst_test from disk='E:\Backup\test\bestst\bestst_20101222.bak' with move 'BESMgmt415_data' to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test.mdf',move 'BESMgmt415_log'
    to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test_log.ldf' "
but if I split the restore command into 3 lines like below, it fails, can someone let me know how to use the multiple line feature in sqlcmd -q switch?
    sqlcmd -E -S servername -d master -Q "restore database bestst_test from disk='E:\Backup\test\bestst\bestst_20101222.bak'
    with move 'BESMgmt415_data' to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test.mdf',
    move 'BESMgmt415_log' to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test_log.ldf' "

Well actually there is a way, in command prompt you can you the carat character (^) to indicate that there is more lines. So in your restore case:
    sqlcmd -E -S servername -d master -Q ^
    "restore database bestst_test from disk='E:\Backup\test\bestst\bestst_20101222.bak' ^
    with move 'BESMgmt415_data' to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test.mdf', ^
    move 'BESMgmt415_log' to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\bestst_test_log.ldf' "
I must say, it is abit of a hassle (since there are several restrictions to how you need to break the line), and you actually better off using the input file for this.
    Thank you
    Lucas

    Hi,
With your first xml you can print like
    EMP1
    71000, Sample, 01-Jan-2010
    72000, Sample, 01-Feb-2010
73000, Sample, 01-March-2010While creating the RTF template you can use the Group by option.
<?for-each-group:ROW;./columnname> then print the column name
    <?columnname?>
    --Then your table format
    71000, Sample, 01-Jan-2010
    72000, Sample, 01-Feb-2010
    73000, Sample, 01-March-2010
    <?end for-each-group?>
    Thanks.

  • How to calculate the individual sums of multiple columns in a single query

    Hello,
Using Oracle 11gR2 on windows 7 client. I have a question on calculating sum() on multiple columns on different columns and store the results in a view. Unfortunately I could not post the problem here as it keeps on giving error "Sorry, this content is not allowed", without telling where or what it is! ThanksLooks like you want a simple group by.
    select
              yr
         ,      mnth
         ,      region
         ,     sum(handled_package)

    group by
         yr, mnth, region
    order by
yr, mnth, region;I wouldn't recommend storing your data for year / month in 2 columns like that unless you have a really good reason. I would store it as a date column and add a check constraint to ensure that the date is always the first of the month, then format it out as you wish to the client.
    CREATE TABLE test

  • One line item in po from multiple line items of Purchase Requisition

Can we merge multiple line items for same item from different different purchase requisition into a single line item in Purchase Order ?
For example, say department A and B made two different purchase requisition for 1 number of computer system. Now the purchaser viewed these requisitions and he want to make a purchase order to party X for 2 no of computer system. Now how he can do this in Oracle Purchasing.

    Hi !
thanx to all for your responses.
    But, let me explain better.
Say Dept A raises an Requisition (Req No: 1 ) for 5 Chairs. In the same time Dept. B raises requisition (req no: 2 ) for 10 chairs.
Now Purchase Dept. wants to make an PO to procure chair with respective to these 2 requisitions i.e. req no 1 from dept A and req no 2 from Dept B.
Now my query is that, can the purchase dept. prepare a PO with 1 line item only i.e. for chair (5+10) of 15 numbers from these requisitions of dept A and B ?
    If yes then how ?

  • Creating SVG Chart with multiple lines

    Hi All,
I want to create a chart with multiple lines.
Ex: I have one emp table with empno, sal and deptno columns.
I want to print deptno in x axis and no of employees on y axis.
I want to print one line for employees with sal > 15000 and one more line for employee with sal =< 15000
So one line will show no of employees with sal more than 15000 for each dept. Similar case for the other line and these 2 lines should be in different colors.
For one line the query will go as
    select link, deptno, count(empno)
from emp where sal > 15000 group by null, deptno
Is this possible to draw this chart?
    Thanks,
    Manoj

I wasn't able to do something like what you describe, but I was able to do this:
I defined column A of the table as a Header Row, selected the cells in the table, and chose this chart type (2D 2 Axis):
Then I clicked the chart and in the pane at the right checked 'Axis Name' in the Axis tab and added the axis names.
Maybe this can give you an idea of how you can illustrate the relationships that you want to show.

That is one surefire way to not get any help and certainly not urgently. I suggest that you amend the title of your post to something that reflects the actual issue. This will also help anyone with similar issues to find the thread.
When posting code please put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lower case) above and below it to preserve formatting like this...

Is it possible to select multiple lines  from 1 query and do a RRI to the receiver query. Eg : Select multiple POs and then go to PO details query which shows PO details of multiple POs.
Also when you do a RRI from 1 q to other , does the filter criteria of 2nd query pop up to the user ?
    thanks in advance ,
    LH

    Hi Lakshmi,
Yes, it is possible to select multiple lines from one query. It means as you said, if you select multiple PO's i.e., Po's belong to a customer. If 10 PO's belong to single customer, then if you select that customer and Goto RRI in the report, you will get the details of all those 10 PO's in the RRI report. This is done in RSBBS tcode>After creating RRI>Assignment details-->Map the required fields of sender to the reciever queries according to the need.
When you use RRI, the reciver query, i.e., the second query will contain the filter selection as usual in the normal report when executed.
    Hope this helps u...

  • Expand the Ad-Hoc Query

    Dear all,
Can anyone tell me the steps in detail on how to add extra infotypes (which is not in the standard selection area, of course) in the ad-hoc query selection area? In my case, I need to search an employee's personnel number by alternative name in local characters (IT0182) of the employee.
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi Steven,
While creating Adhoc query choose Logical databse instead of a database table.
then you get a pop up to select the Infotypes. there you can select the multiple info types.

    Kumar.

  • Outputting System User Name in Ad Hoc Query (S_PH0_48000513)

I am trying to create an HR Ad Hoc Query and one of the fields that I am trying to output is System User Name from infotype 0105 Communications.  If I choose this field and do not choose the Communication Type, I get two records per employee - one record with the System User Name populated and one record with a blank value for System User Name.
If I choose the System User Name field for output and also make a selection on Communication Type (= subtype 0001), employees with no System User Name (i.e. no Infotype 0105, subtype 0001) are eliminated from the report.
I want the report to show all selected employees, including those without a System User Name; however, I do not want the same employee to appear on the report twice.
Has anyone else experience this problem?  If so, have you figured out how to eliminate the extraneous record for each employee when you do not select the Communication Type?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Love to know if you managed to find a solution for this issue as I'm experiencing the same problem.  However I'm reporting on both system user and email address which are distinct fields and would prefer to see this information only on a single line.  With my report I get communication system user on one line and then email address on the another, I'd also like to be able to include those users where the info types have not been maintained.
With the query I have created I also included logon data from the USR02 table.
    Cheers
    Bill

  • Ad hoc Query Designer

    Hi,
In which scenarios we use Ad hoc Query Desinger..can you give me an example....I know there are few restrictions when compared to Query designer.....

    hi,
    Ad-Hoc Query designer
Creating a query with the Ad-Hoc query designer is much on the same lines as creating a query with the Bex Query Deisgner. You need to choose the chars and key figures and place them in rows, columns, free chars or filter areas. You can set the InfoObject properties and also create exceptions and conditions.
The Adhoc Query Designer is a web item and can be made available in web reports
See this link for more info and some important restrictions when using the Ad-Hoc Query Designer:

  • ECATT : multiple line itmes

    Hi Gurus,
i am creating ecatt with TCD recording. My requirement is if i record a sales order with one line item can i use the same ecatt for multiple line items.
for example if i create a test script z_va01 in this i record a sales order having one line item. For this i created test data and configaration. Can i use same ecatt to create a sales order having multiple line items.
    Thanks in advace
    anil

    Hi Anilkumar,
I don't think you can use same TCD script for single line item and multiple line item. The reason behind is the line items are part of recording. And their positions get recorded. So data has to match with run time behavior of transaction.
In SAPGUI recording, record VA01 transaction for multiple line items first. And see whether you get different dynpro for each line item. If so, then you can make them Optional. Now this script can run for both multiple line item as well as single item provided one dynpro for each line item.
Find the following weblog for SAPGUI recording and making screens optional -
    /people/sapna.modi/blog/2006/04/10/ecatt-scripts-creation--sapgui-mode-part-iii
    /people/sapna.modi/blog/2006/04/18/ecatt-chaining-parameterization-creation-of-test-datatest-configuration-system-data-part-iv
But my personal experience says not to play much with the recorded scripts in the given scenario. If you can record two different scripts for the different line items, your life will be simpler.
    Hope this helps.
