Multiple Screens and Variables?

Is there a way/place to store variables so that other screens
can write and read the variables?
Essentially I am building an HTML/JS app that has multiple
pages and I am assuming screens are the way to go. Am I approaching
this wrong? Is there a better way to have information persist and
use multiple pages?

Okay, maybe I misunderstood the whole screen thing based on
the tutorials in the developing AIR with HTML and JavaScript (
http://livedocs.adobe.com/air/1/devappshtml/).
It seemed to me that I could have hidden screens and move them so
that they showed in the main monitor? No biggie.
Here is what I need: I have an HTML file (index.html). It has
menu buttons at the top, if someone goes to a new page via an <a
href="... " (call it about.html), how do I bring my variables or
get the data from the previous page to this page? Is there a place
to store variables so that they can be made available? Is this a
JavaScript thing, or is this an AIR thing? Also, launching a new
window is not what I want to do. When you say 'object', what kind
of object are you talking about? Is it a generic Object created by
ActionScript? Do I subclass this object to hold my variables and
values? Kind of like a session variable or other scope of variable
where I can access the information and change it no matter what
HTML file the system is using.

Multiple screens in scenebuilder

All we have a large application that we want to port to scenebuilder from java classes. Our issue is that when we call load on the mainView.fxml file it is the loading all the of the subscreens. They each have their own controllers and from the main controller we can't get access to their view components. Has anyone got any ideas on how to load multiple screens and not double load the views.

Could you please elaborate a bit more ? What is the content of your mainView.fxml ? Does it include other fxml files ?

My touch screen isn't working and stopped working after I went running with it. I have restarted it multiple times and restored it on my MacBook. It will still not let me slide it to even look at the phone. Please help ASAP.

I took my iPhone running today and when I returned I was not able to slide it open or type in my pass code. All buttons are still responding. I have tried restarting it multiple times and even restored it, but the touch screen will not respond to anything. I also cleaned the screen off with a damp cloth. Please help! I WAS able to slide it open in the middle of restoring it but not able to click on any apps. Help! My life is on my iPhone and I am a nurse on call!

Try restore as new using computer iTunes.

Bookmark with Variable screen and UserExit

We're using the bookmarks in portal of N2004s.
If someone starts a bookmark it's possible to bring the user first to the variable screen. But I recognized that the userexit is not activated for some variables after changing them.
concret:
I called a report with time-selection week = 10.2007 - the report has keyfigures which are restricted by a userexit variable which is previous year (calculated by time selection - 1year) - so the report shows me the keyfigures with previous year 10.2006 and 10.2007 - I save this as a bookmark.
calling the bookmark with this link: &bookmark=46LQ49TMUQ8BRH3O91VEH0XMK&variable_screen=X
the bookmark shows me first the variable screen. The user can change then the time-selection. But when i change now the time-selection in the variable screen from 10.2007 to 20.2007 I get in the report stll 10.2006 and 20.2007.
So it seems to me the bookmark doesn't run through the user exit to fill the variable "previous year".
How can this be activated?

I debugged now the user exit and it seems as following:
- calling a bookmark with selection_screen=x but without the parameter clear_variables=x does run through the user exits step 1 to 3 before showing the variable screen. After changing a variable the user exit is only enabled for step 3 and not anymore for step 2 - that's why the previous year is not updated.
- calling the bookmark with selection_screen=x and clear_variables=x runs user exit with step 1 before selection screen and then after entering variables step 2 and 3 - and the previous year is filled correctly. But this is not useable, because the user want's to have selection variables prefilled.
Has someone an idea how to bring the bookmark without clear_variables=x to the point to run the step 2 in user exit after changing variables in selection screen?

Before taking it in to the Apple Store... Try this...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

User troubleshooting is restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you perform these steps and it still doesn't work, then make an appointment at the Apple Genius bar and have the hardware checked.

Network and multiple screens - please help

As a designer I've always used two screens running from one mac to spread around my open information boxes.
Just received a new g5 with Snow Leopard but only have one monitor socket.
The mac is networked vie ethernet cable to the internet and other macs and pcs in the office
Many years ago I had two macs connected to a direct ethernet cable (no router) and was able to share the screens by nudging the mouse pointer off one screen and onto the other mac.
Whats the terminology for this type of network?
Is it possible for me to keep the new G5 on its ethernet network to access printers, pc, internet,.. and also connect to the other mac using this mouse push through screen sharing feature.

Just to clarify: there's no such thing as a G5 any more. The model I think you mean would be a MacPro. If you look at the back of the Graphics Card you should see at least one Mini Display Port. This will allow you to connect a second monitor. Some MacPros come with two allowing 3 Monitors. This link will explain it more:

If I'm in my email acct, I click a hyperlink to another page and then to go back to my email page, I double click the button to the left of the screen and it shows a slide list of pages I have recently been to. How do I get rid of that? Or clear the pages?

You mean the multi task bar at the bottom? In iOS7 there is a big preview box above each app in the bar. Just swipe it up and away.

Multiple screens issue on App Server 10.1.2.3

Hi, I'm having an issue with having multiple screen open within the same session on App Server 10g.
The first screen opens and operates just fine.
When I open the 2nd screen, I have some poplists that get built when it opens, but it doesn't seem to populate them. If I close my first screen and this one, then open this screen, it works fine. I do have some "Global" variables that we're using that may be causing the issue. THey worked fine in the days of 6i but conflicting now in 10g when multiple screens are opened.
I was wondering if there was a solution to get around this, or there is a config file that I could change that would resolve this.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

We have just run it through with the same patchset for the installer. This is a clean install of Win OS and installed the 10g database first.
We receive the following error when installing the App Server (Forms & Reports)

When we type NET HELPMSG 3547 (as suggested), we receive the following error message:

Are you running Windows Server 2008 (first release) or Windows Server 2008 R2?
Any suggestions? I will try installing the App Server without installing the database now to see if that makes any difference.

Multiple screens & Excel dialog box placement

I'm using multiple screens with my 13" Retina Macbook Pro, and what is really annoying is that Excel places it's dialog boxes in a strange location where I cannot action them or move them.
Does anyone have an idea on how to tell Excel to ignore the other displays and just show me the dialog boxes on the screen/desktop that has the application on? Going to fullscreen or moving the windows to any other displays didnt make any difference; dialog box remains the same

Drag and Drop multiple boxes and snap to multiple locations then reveal button

Hi I'm Trying to develop a small game where the user chooses from a range of boxes of the left of screen and can drag 3 of them separatley to 3 holding boxes on ther right. each box can be dragged to any location and the order is not important. Once the 3 holding boxes are all full I want a new button to appear. I completed a tutorial and I've got one box working perfectly but no matter what i try I can't get it working with multiple boxes and locations. Two things...
1) if you want both circles to be draggable you need to execute that last line twice, once for each.

2) you do not want to name the targets the same name... only one will work as a target that way. GIve them different names, and assign each one a property like...
targetCircle1.isTarget == true;
targetCircle2.isTarget == true;
and in your hittest function test for that property. And if you don't want to allow the user to drop two circles on the same target, set that property to false after it is dropped on... something like...

Back to item 1... with this approach you won't need to pass the target as an argument, unless you need to have each circle dropped on a specific target instead of any of them (in that case you go back to specifying and testing the target instance)
Your overall dragSetup function will change in various ways if you follow what is offered here as far as allowing for any circle to be placed on any target. If you require specific targets, then your code would remain much as it is except you still need different instance names for all the objects.

Resizing Stage to fit multiple screens

Hi, I'm designing a Flash website and I want the stage to
fill the viewer's screen, similar to www.s-w-h.com. I've always
designed flash sites with one particular size in mind, never for
multiple screen sizes. I know there's a Stage.onResize property I
can use, but I'm sure there must be a limit to the actual size of
the viewers screen, otherwise it would kill my layout and design.
I'm wondering whethere there's a technique flash designer's use to
effectively and optimally resize, i.e. choose only 3 stage settings
and work around them, or 3 browser types (IE, Safari, Firefox) and
work from there. I ask this because I have also noticed that my
Firefox browser fits my whole screen while my Safari browser does
not. So there are many variables to consider. What would be the
best way to apprach this?

Check out the Stage class in Flash. It lets you know the
actual width and height of your clients browser. You can add a
listener to your main movie to look for onResize events.
That is a great website.

Help! When I select "Phone" it tries to open and gives me a white screen and closes. I cannot view my missed calls or voicemails.

If anyone knows anything about this...
When I select "Phone" on my home screen the iPhone attempts to open it, brings up a white screen and then will shut back down. I have 8 missed calls or voicemails yesterday and I couldn't check any of them. Does this happen to anyone else?
Also, when I receive a call and I answer it does not give me the ability to end call or any of my options (sources, keypad,etc.) during the call.
Basically, I can't do anything with my contacts, favorites, missed calls or voicemails.
Can someone please help?

I have tried that multiple times. I have also made sure that I have the latest updates. Would haveing 27,000+ contacts have anything to do with it?

Android Multiple Screens

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible with Adobe air to allow for multiple screens in Android. I have a HTC Incredible and a Galaxy Nexus both of which support video out. Android currently only supports mirroring for Video out. I wanted to know if it would be possible for adobe air to recognize the video out of the device as an external display that use either a MHL HDMI Out (Galaxy Nexus) or Analog-Composite video out (HTC Incredible). To illustrate a scenario that would use this: let say the app is a gallery and has x amount of pictures. The user has a video out cable connected and is recognized as the second monitor. Once the user sees a picture they like they would click on the image. Once the image is clicked it is sent to the 2nd display (the video out of the Android device) so the picture is being displayed on the larger screen while the user is still free to browse the pictures. Is this in realm of Adobe Air capabilities? Or am I misinterpreting "Multiscreen Development"?
