Multiple Upload

Hello,
The company I am building a prototype for currently houses all files in another database. I will be able to download row entries from the other app to a csv file and import in to my APEX application without any issue but if the row entry has numerous files attached to it can I upload those as well in a bulk upload? We are talking over 1000 potential attachments.
The alterative is that the other app is web based so if there I may be able to link to a URL but I would need to create a connection between the two databases to bypass user login and password?
Example: First Name Last Name Address Related documentation
John Smith 17 Somewhere St, Somewhere Payroll.pdf, applicationforleave.xls, travelexpenses.xls
No probs getting the First Name, Last Name and Address fields but what about the three files?
Any thoughts on this?
Thank you so much in advance.
Kind regards
Ros

Hi Luis,
Unfortunately the other database is not Oracle.
The need to extract the data is a one off thing as everyone started working with one application and we are now changing over.
So the only way that I can do it is to extract all of the attachments in to a folder and then individually upload in to the Oracle database that I have built. To upload over 1000 files will take a long time so if there is a way to multiple upload and assign attachments to individual rows then this will be much better.
Any thoughts?
Dimitri did you run any details about multiple upload on your blog? I have read what you had to say about BI and that was very informative.
Thanks

  • MULTIPLE UPLOAD file problem

    Hello,
    I have a problem with multiple upload file tool.
    Because my server need, in order to upload files in its folders, to be logged only with ftp user (that is unique).
    Now, I need that when I upload a file its name will be stored on db table "file_name". But in order to put data in database i have tobe logged also with user that is allowed to access on mysql db.
    So I understand that I should nedd to types of authentication at the same time...
    I think it depends on my type of hosting that is windows, and there is not the possibility to change CHMOD, so the error when I try to upload a file is that the folder has not write permissions...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot
    ascaro231
    Italy

    Hi ascaro231,
    wow, that is one bag of problems on the remote side :-(
    to be logged only with ftp user
    although PHP itself provides native FTP functions
    (e.g. for uploading files and also changing folder & file permissions), ADDT´s file upload features don´t support this protocol
    and there is not the possibility to change CHMOD
    CHMOD *will* have to be supported by your host, because this is how ADDT changes folder & file permissions.
    Well, to me it seems that your host doesn´t provide some very basic and truly common-standard PHP settings -- and honestly, disabling the regular PHP file upload features is ridiculous.
    Any suggestions?
    go for a better host -- this is just inacceptable.
    Are you hosting with "Aruba" BTW ? They have both Windows and Linux hostings, and AFAIK it´s possible to switch the hosting type.

  • My Bionic will only show the first of a multiple upload of pictures on Facebook?

    My Bionic will only show the first of a multiple upload of pictures on Facebook. A friend that has a Razor on Verizon is able to swipe through all the pictures of a multiple picture upload and see them all one at a time. I also find no way to Share on Facebook from the Bionic.
    Thanks
    jek

    Hi Jek!
    I usually have a bunch of pics I want to upload at once too! Are you going to the Gallery>Select Multiple>Choose Pictures>Menu>Photo Share Facebook? Do you have your Facebook account set up through the application on the device? Are you using Facebook for Android? This needs to be setup in order to share. Let us know!

  • Restrict Access and Multiple Upload with Insert

    I continue to have problems with using Restrict Access to Folder with Multiple Upload with Insert. When the restrict access is enabled the uploader does not work, when it's removed it works. Any ideas?

    I've found that if I have a page that displays the kt_login_id, login and then go to that page it doesn't display the login ID. Then if I add the multiple image uploader w/ DB insert and reload the page the login ID is displayed and the uploader works, however, if I set an uploader field to the login ID it inserts and uploads everything but the login id. I thought this might have to do with the fact the the 'Restrict Access to Page' is not on the page yet. When I add it the uploader and insert stops working. I've placed the 'Restrict Access to Page' code in every possible place in the code (above the head) and the only place where the uploader/insert works is when the resrtict code is after the uploader code. But then again the login id does not get inserted. Please someone help.

  • ActiveX not working when multiple uploads is selected

    When using the multiple uploads function on SharePoint 2010 some of my clients get a red cross over the activeX control and some do not. All clients receive a GPO that adds the URL to trusted sites and all browser versions are IE9 x86. I've even installed
    the latest version of flash activeX but that made no difference. One thing I have noticed is that some clients get the red cross and then get a pop-up asking if they want to allow the activex content. When they click allow the control then works. I don't understand
    why some clients work fine, some get prompted then work and then there are some that just do not work nor do they get prompted! Thanks
    PS. I have just discovered that MS Office is not installed don any of the problem PC's! Apparently there is a DLL that is needed to upload this way. Problem is I do not want to install office on all of these PC's.

    Hi JazzyN,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want tot use Upload Multiple document feature without installiing Office in SharePoint 2010.
    The feature is based on an ActiveX Control called STSUpld.UploadCtl, a dynamic-link library (DLL) that is installed on the client computer in the %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ directory during Microsoft Office 2010 Setup. Without this control
    , the feature will be not available for SharePoint 2010.
    I am not sure whether the AnctiveX Control could be added into IE without Office 2010/2013 installing, you can have a try. And you can create a new thread on IE forum, more experts will assist you with this issue.
    As a workaround, you can install SharePoint 2010 Deisgner on the client machine, then you can also use the ‘Upload Multiple documents’ feature in SharePoint 2010.

  • Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer - related to multiple uploads?

    Hi folks -
    I've read through some threads regarding "Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer" and it seems a lot of folks have a lot of solutions throughout the forum posts.  Is there anything official or semi-official regarding
    this?
    I've tried a lot of the fixes including:
    checking to see if the WebClient service is on
    modifying so-and-so registry (I've since changed them back since they seem to have no effect)
    and changing various settings in Internet Options including making sure the site is in the Local intranet zone.
    I could live without this functionality but just recently my upload-multiple-files functionality in SharePoint 2010 has also gone away (red x instead of directory UI).  I wonder if it's related somehow and could give us a clue.
    If it helps I'm using various browsers but of the IE flavor 8 and 9 32-bit as the base for testing this.

    For SharePoint 2013 (so could apply to 2010 as well), my problem was that I was trying to "Open with Explorer"
    something that probably can't be opened with Explorer. In my case, I just wanted to open my team's Shared Documents with Explorer. I found that when I first log into SharePoint and view the page, I'm presented with those Shared Documents, but also other things
    as well.
    To get "Open with Explorer" to work, I must click "Shared Documents" under the Libraries heading on
    the left. Then, all the other stuff (Links, Getting Started, etc.) go away and I'm focused on my team's shared documents. From there, I can go up to the Library Tools section in the ribbon, choose the Library tab in the ribbon, and click Open with Explorer.
    Works like a champ on Windows 7 64-bit, running IE 9 32-bit.
    Unfortunately that's not what was going on in my case.  One obvious way to check is to see if other people or other computers can Open with Explorer.  In my case it was just this one machine on my desk that had the issue.

  • Directory browsing and multiple upload (not AIR)

    Hello everybody! Do somebody knows is it possible to select
    directory and upload all files from this directory to server (not
    AIR)?
    Thanx

    No you cant do that. You must do one at a time. Take a look
    at the
    FileReference and FileReferenceList documentation for the
    upload() method. Partial quote:
    Listeners receive events to indicate the progress, success,
    or failure of the upload. Although you can use the
    FileReferenceList object to let users select multiple files for
    upload, you must upload the files one by one; to do so, iterate
    through the FileReferenceList.fileList array of FileReference
    objects.

  • Multiple Upload Image Problem - Resize GIF files

    The Multiple Image Upload script seems to handle .jpg images without problems.
    However, .gif files return the error:
    "Error converting image (image resize). Image processing library not available or does not support operation. (imagemagick library is not working or not found)."
    The problem is caused by the fact that script that I'm using tries to pass a parameter that is not valid for gif processing:
    myimage.gif' '-quality' '80'
    The "quality" parameter works only for jpeg and .png files as described here:
    http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#quality
    Please ensure that the script makes difference between .gif and .jpeg files and use the correct parameters so we can resize the images properly.
    Thanks in advance,
    Márcio

    Hi Marcio,
    >>
    Can you tell me the inconveniance of using GD instead of Imagemagick, or its, shortly similar?
    >>
    sorry, but never worked with ImageMagick so far, so I can´t compare
    >>
    The "quality" parameter works only for jpeg and .png files as described here
    >>
    yeah, it seems that this is a small bug in ADDT´s "includes/common/lib/image/KT_Image.class.php" file. Was just checking the code in there, and indeed it adds this extra parameter regardless the image type -- but I do have an idea how this file can be modified to not use this parameter if the file in question has the suffix ".gif".
    If you feel a little adventurous, I´ll happily invite you to modify some code in this file -- please let me know if you´re ready for some instructions. However, if so, please make a backup of this file first...

  • Multiple uploads - Setting up the fields.

    I would like to make a page where the members can upload up
    to 4 images for
    their clients design proofs. Searching through examples and
    posts, I came up
    with this code to upload and insert the information into the
    database:
    <cfif IsDefined ('Submit')>
    <cfloop index = "i" from =1 to =4>
    <cfif IsDefined("form.file#i#")>
    <cfif evaluate("form.file#i#") NEQ "">
    <cffile accept="image/gif, image/jpeg, image/jpg,
    image/png, image/psd"
    action="upload"
    destination="E:\webs\softproofs.com\wwwroot\projects\prooffiles"
    filefield="ImageName#i#" nameconflict="makeunique">
    <cfquery name="uploadproofs"
    datasource="#Request.MainDSN#">
    INSERT INTO proof (file, size, project_id, owner, dirname
    <cfif FORM.border
    GT "">,border</cfif>)
    VALUES ('#File.ServerFile#', '#File.FileSize#',
    '#Form.project_id#',
    '#Session.MM_Username#', '#Session.MM_Username#' <cfif
    FORM.border#i# GT
    "">, #FORM.border#i##</cfif>)
    </cfquery>
    </cfif>
    </cfif>
    </cfloop>
    </cfif>
    What I would like to know is:
    1.) Did I write the code above correctly to loop through the
    fields and
    upload each
    2.) Is it better to set each of the file fields manually
    (file1, file2,
    file3, file4) or to set 1 field and have it loop 4 times
    using the i to name
    the fields?
    3.) Do I have to also set the 'border' form element to #i# to
    make them
    unique during the loop. I have them set as border1, border2,
    border3,
    border4 currently. They are radio buttons and have one
    selected
    automatically so there is no need to evaluate them.

    Hi Mike, You will need to use product grouping here. You will need to make a new product for each and set up the weights etc for that.

  • Turning Upload script into multiple upload script

    Hi all,
    I would like to change the following script so it is able to handle 2 file uploads. With a basic understanding of PHP, this is a bit beyond me and you may laugh and the initial attempt (found at the the bottom of the post).
    Here is the original script for one upload:
    <?php
    //this is the directory where the images images will be saved
    $target = "../IMAGES/books/";
    $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['imageURL']['name']);
    // this gets all the other info from the form
    $name=$_POST['name'];
    $publication=$_POST['publication'];
    $year=$_POST['year'];
    $desc=$_POST['description'];
    $link=$_POST['linkToBuy'];
    $price=$_POST['price'];
    $pic=($_FILES['imageURL']['name']);
    // Connects to your Database
    mysql_connect("localhost:8889", "root", "root") or die(mysql_error()) ;
    mysql_select_db("keithMcCarthy") or die(mysql_error()) ;
    //Writes the information to the database
    mysql_query("INSERT INTO books (name,publication,year,description,linkToBuy,price,imageURL)
    VALUES ('$name', '$publication', '$year', '$desc', '$link', '$price', '$pic')") ;
    //Writes the photo to the server
    if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['imageURL']['tmp_name'], $target))
              $note['success'] = 'The file '. basename( $_FILES['imageURL']['name']). ' has been uploaded, and your information has been added to the directory';
    else {
              //Give an error if it's not
              $note['error'] = 'Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file.';
    ?>
    Here is my attempt - it sends everything to the database but does not upload the file and gives an error "Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file." At leat that is working.
    <?php
    //this is the directory where the images images will be saved
    $target = "../IMAGES/books/";
    $targetTwo = "../IMAGES/books/";
    $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['imageURL']['name']);
    $targetTwo = $target . basename( $_FILES['imageURLtwo']['name']);
    // this gets all the other info from the form
    $name=$_POST['name'];
    $publication=$_POST['publication'];
    $year=$_POST['year'];
    $desc=$_POST['description'];
    $link=$_POST['linkToBuy'];
    $price=$_POST['price'];

    //Writes the photo to the server
    if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['imageURL']['tmp_name'], $target))
      $note['success'] = 'The file '. basename( $_FILES['imageURL']['name']). ' has been uploaded, and your information has been added to the directory';
    else {
      //Give an error if it's not
      $note['error'] = 'Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file.';
    if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['imageURLTwo']['tmp_name'], $targetTwo))
      $note['success'] = 'The file '. basename( $_FILES['imageURLTwo']['name']). ' has been uploaded, and your information has been added to the directory';
    else {
      //Give an error if it's not
      $note['error'] = 'Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file.';
    ?>

    Thank you for your help, trulfy!
    However, I am so new to all this that I don't really even understand your reply or how to do it...
    Maybe you could put it in more simplistic terms/steps?
    Thank you anyway!

  • CFfile multiple upload problem

    Hello~
    I am using two cfinput tags with a type of "file" within the same form. They accept different file types, using regex validation to check each, and have different name and id values.
    <!--- FORM FIELDS ---><cfinput type="file" name="pageLayoutCSSFileUpload" class="inputArea" message="Please upload a .css file." required="yes" size="50" id="pageLayoutCSSFileUpload" validate="regex" pattern="^.*\.(css|CSS)$" /><cfinput type="file" name="pageLayoutImageUpload" class="inputArea" message="Please upload a layout image (.gif)." required="yes" size="50" id="pageLayoutImageUpload" validate="regex" pattern="^.*\.(gif|GIF)$" />
    Once the form is submitted, I am using cffile to upload each to the same directory, with the same name, but different extensions (one .css and one .gif). The first file, .css, uploads correctly. Then I get an error with the second cffile tag that the mime-type is incorrect, and that the file must be in the image/gif format. I know that the test files I am using are in the correct format, so it seems like the second cffile tag is looking at the first file that is being uploaded. I don't know how this can happen, as the "file" value for each cffile tag is being set through a form variable, which relates directly to the two seperate input fields.
    <!--- FORM ACTION ---><!--- upload page layout CSS file --->
    <cffile action="upload" destination="#local.pageLayoutsPath#pageLayout_#numberFormat(local.layoutID,000)#" file="#form.pageLayoutCSSFileUpload#" nameconflict="error" result="local.pageLayoutCSSFileUpload" accept="text/css" />
    <!--- upload page layout image file (large) --->
    <cffile action="upload" destination="#local.pageLayoutsPath#pageLayout_#numberFormat(local.layoutID,000)#" file="#form.pageLayoutImageUpload#" nameconflict="error" result="local.pageLayoutImageUpload" accept="image/gif" />
    Has anyone else had this problem? It is complicated to explain, so let me know if this doesn't make sense... Thanks!

    According to the docs (and my past experience):
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/CFMLRef/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec22c24-73 8f.html
    <cffile action="upload"> requires a FILEFIELD attribute, which should be the name of the form field relevant to the file in question.  Note: not the VALUE of the form field, but the NAME of it.
    I'm surprised your code isn't erroring, given FILEFIELD is - appaerently - required.

  • Multiple cffile upload issues

    Hello all. I'm having a little issue with a multiple upload I
    am trying to achieve. I've been searching and searching but could
    not find an answer, and maybe you guys could help me. Well I'm
    doing multiple uploads on a form i created and it's uploading the
    file and file name correctly, but it's inserting 6 records
    everytime I'm hitting the submit button. Also, I've notice in my
    database is when you click the submit button, it's inserting the
    same file in one record 6 times, then it creates a new record and
    inserts the second file 6 times. I'm going to post the code here,
    maybe it's something I'm missing, not sure. Thanks for the help.

    of course it will do everything 6 times since you have your
    whole code
    wrapped with cfloop from 1 to 6... so the code execution will
    happen 6
    times... plus your synatx for inserting filenames inside your
    query
    makes it insert same file 6 times (since the code is inside
    one same
    cfloop)...
    you should separate your code and wrap only the cffile part
    in a cfloop:
    <cfif isDefined("form.upload")>
    <cfloop index="i" from="1" to="6">
    <cfif len(trim(form.pic#i#)) gt 0>
    <cffile action="upload"
    destination="D:\Hosting\streetzmag\dev\crush_images\"
    filefield="pic#i#"
    nameconflict="makeunique"
    result="uploadedpic_#i#"
    accept="image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/gif" >
    </cfif>
    </cfloop>
    <!--- Code for insert of information --->
    <cfquery datasource="mysqlcf_streetzmag"
    name="uploaded">
    INSERT INTO Information
    (firstname,
    lastname,
    email,
    contact_info,
    nickname,
    recent_work,
    hair_color,
    eye_color,

    '#FORM.lastname#',
    '#FORM.email#',
    '#FORM.contact#',
    '#FORM.nickname#',
    '#FORM.work#',
    '#FORM.hair#',
    '#FORM.eye#',
    '#FORM.ethnic#',
    #FORM.age#,
    '#FORM.height#',
    '#FORM.measurements#',
    <cfloop from="1" to="6" index="x">
    <cfif isdefined("uploadedpic_#x#")>

  • How do you upload multiple files?

    Hi,
    This is propably an easy one.
    I am trying to upload multiple .gif files to a folder in KM.
    I went to Content Management -> KM Content and created a new folder inside a sub-folder.
    Now when I click on the contect menu I select New.. and then Upload...
    However, this only allows me to select for upload one file at a time.
    I neeed to upload about 50 files. It will take ages doing this one by one!
    Is there a quicker way?

    Hi
    Multiple upload of files is possible by using WEBDAV protocol.To use this follow the below steps.
    Go to folder to which u want to upload the files and the click on the context menu and select details.A new window will open up.In that select settings->properties->accesslinks.copy the WEBDAV link shown there.
    Now
    click My Network Places on your desktop, and choose Tools from the top menu bar/Map Network Drive from the context menu. If you donu2019t find My Network Places on your desktop you can find it under Windows Start menu option on your computer.
    select Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server. Click next
    Highlight Choose another network locations. Click next
    Use Cntrl+V to paste the URL path name(webdav URL).  Click next
    Change the URL location to the name of the folder in KM. Hit next.  Hit finish
    A folder by the name you just created will appear under my network places on your explorer application.
    Using this u can upload multiple files directly into folder u want.
    Hope this solves ur problem.
    Regards
    Hussain.
