Multiple users of single forms
Hi,
I have a situation whereby I'd like to be able to have multiple users haveing input to a single form. This is to establish a type of jobcard system.
e.g.
A form is distributed out to a number of people, they complete a certain section, the forms are then submitted ie returned to the distributor, from here they can be forwarded onto someone else who will compete aditional information onto the form and again submit it.
The coordinator can then review the form data and then forward or save the forms off.
This is likely to be from a PC to PC in the first instance and PC to tablet in the second, ideally with the ability to add photographs.
Many Thanks
Hi,
WIth FormsCentral, you can share a single form with multiple users as Co-Authors. Your shared user will have right to edit/modify/save the form at anytime.
Now, your shared users will need to create (free or paid) accounts in FormsCentral to be able to collaborate on the form.
Please take a look a this FormsCentral tutorial, Share and collaborate section: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1413
Thanks,
Lucia

Can multiple users complete a form on a company server concurrently?
I would like to be able to create forms and distribute them via SharePoint but allow multiple users to complete the forms at the same time. Is this possible or can a form only be completed by a single individual at a time?
How were you planning to submit/process the form data? Most methods would be fine because they do not touch the original, which can have unlimited read-only copies.

Multiple users on single computer
We're helping a church train their volunteers to use
Contribute. In their small computer lab, volunteers will edit their
particular directories/pages. We can easily create keys for each of
them with their specific allowed directories - can multiple users
share a single computer and let us achieve limited access for each
user? How do we set up Contribute or the connection key to demand a
user log-on? This church has no publishing server. Is this
possible?I don't think so because Contribute does this weird thing
where it stores sftp / ftp information in your registry key
(encrypted) and then regardless of what you enter when it prompts
you to enter that data it still uses whatever was first stored for
that domain in your registry. So if anyone ever opts to "save" the
login information, ever, then it's set until you clear your
registry key chain. (annoying)
It would be possible if you made each computer specific to
role, like all roles that use this computer uses a sftp / ftp
information that is on the same level.
Long story short, you can do this, but it might cause
problems when users don't understand why they can't do things they
normally could do (sftp information was saved as a lower level
user) or a low level access user who has privledges they should not
have (sftp information was saved as a high level user). -
Multiple users on single computer mounting same RAID drive
Hi I'm a newbie:)
I have multiple users on a single computer which need to mount the same RAID drive on a different networked computer. I have no problem making the mounts, the only thing is that when each user makes its mount the drive appears multiple times when doing an ls /Volumes. Ie, the first user mounts sparkle and it appears as sparkle. The second user mounts sparkle and it appears as sparkle-1. The third user mounts sparkle and it appears as sparkle-2. In the finder they all show up as just plain sparkle, but for running scripts, the hyphen-# screws things up. Does anyone know of a way to have the same drive mounted without the hyphen-#s?
Many thanks!
MeganWhat kind of scripts? I don't think there's any way around the naming problem, but you could use regular expressions. I don't see why sparkle* shouldn't do the trick, or add sparkle-[0-9$] to whatever constuct you have.

Multiple submit on single form
hi all,
My current system have 1 submit button with single form. This submit button will call file_content.upload.
htp.p('function on_submit() {');
htp.p(' ...the rest of my code here..');
htp.p(' document.forms[0].submit();');
htp.p(' return true;');
htp.p('}');
htp.p('<form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="file_content.upload">');
htp.p(' ...the rest of my code here..');
htp.p('<input type="button" id="btn_Submit" value="Submit" onclick="on_submit()"></form>');My question is, i want to enhance this by adding additional 1 submit button with value "Save". But this new "Save" button will call/trigger different file. This new button will call file_content.update. How to accomplish this and how to differentiate these 2 button?
htp.p('<input type="button" id="btn_Submit" value="Submit" onclick="on_submit()">
<input type="button" id="btn_Save" value="Save"></form>');Appreciate any help from you guys. Thanks

Multiple Input ports - Single Form
Hi,
I have a RFC which has multiple input ports. How do i use a single form to provide data to all the input ports.
Regards
BharathwajHi,
you can create the single form direct, if you pull a line out of the RFC, then the form must be created with the fields. If not, then you have to create it manually and map the fields with the input port.

Time Machine with multiple users on single computer
Hi All,
I have an iMac at home with multiple user log ons. I'm about to get the Time Capsule and start using Time Machine (currently I use backup).
When I switch on Time Machine, does it switch on for all users, or will each user need to turn on Time Machine?
If I have to switch on Time Machine for each user, will each user's time machine back up the entire computer (so I'll have two complete copies on my computer on the external drive)?
If this does occur, can I control what Time Machine backs up so TM only backs up user specific information?
Thanks in advance,
ChrisWhen you first backup it will backup your whole system (user directories, system directories, applications, etc) unless you specify folders to exclude. When a user account is added to the computer, their home folder will be added to the backup in a similar way to if you added a new application. It will back up the directory structure exactly as it is on your main hard drive. The backup will essentially keep a copy of the whole hard drive on the backup drive.
The Time Machine will either be on for the whole system, or off for the whole system. It is not on or off for a specific user account. Users (depending on if they've got admin privileges) may have control over turning time machine on or off, but this does not change who can access the backups. All users will be able to invoke Time Machine to get to their backed up files.
Time Machine does not make separate backups for individual users. Instead, it preserves the permissions for backed up files, so while every user can access the backups, they cant just browse other users' files on the backup. The same restrictions on the main drive are carried over to the backup. Still, a standard user who's lost a file will be able to go into Time Machine, access a backed up version of the file, and restore it. Unlike standard users who are restricted from seeing other users' files in the backups, Admins are also restricted but they can be authenticated to view other users' files if they want to. -
Multiple users accessing single application in HTML DB 2.1 with XE
Hi,
I am struggling to setup an application in HTMLDB 2.1 on XE.
I would like multiple users to be able to access the same application. I have created the application and the users but now I need to give the new users access to the application.
Can some highlight how to do this? Is it with authorisation schemes?
Thanks
Joel.Joel,
Have you reviewed the XE documentation on Managing End Users?

Multiple users with single dialog..
Hi,
How to handle multiple user activities in dialog programming ?
In my custom dialog transaction, there is very little probability that two or more will be working on the same data. But in case by chance, two people try to modify the same data, how should that be handled ?
Can anyone explain in detail?
thksYes, you should always, regardless of chances, use lock objects when updating database tables. These are generated in the ABAP dictionary for each table, or you could define it to cover mulitple tables at one time. It will also generate functions modules, ENQUEUE_<name of lock object> and DEQUEUE_<name of lock object>, which you use to Lock, and Unlock..

Insert Multiple records in single form
Hi all,
I have already come across inserting multiple rows into a table using ADF BC. The solution to this is in the following thread
Re: How to create multiple new rows in ADF Table?
However,
The above solution is useful when we want to enter new values along with all the table entries getting displayed.
What can I do If I dont want all the table values but just an 'AddEntries' page where I can only add new rows without having the entries in table getting displayed.
Like,
Say, a form has 5 rows
Each row has empId, eMailSlNo ,eMail attributes
EmpId is same for all 5 records but emailId is different.
EmpId and eMailSlNo make the PK.
empId generated using sequence.
Now on submitting the form, I want all five records to be inserted.
(can i use ADF form instead of ADF table for the ViewObject in this case. I tried ADF form but i could only insert 1 record at a time).
I'm using 10.1.3.4
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Shri
Edited by: newtoOTN on Dec 29, 2009 6:02 PMHi Shri,
ADF Form is meant for single insert/update. For multiple insert/update/delete using collection UI like table is preferred. I guess that either your db table or the UI table design has flaw (In my opinion but i don't know your usecase fully, so my guess might b wrong).
I would suggest,
- make EmpId as PK
- have another table to store EmpId(foreign key),emailSiNo, email
- Have master-detail relationship between both the db tables in ADF BC.
- Create master-detail table UI and on selection of master, display detail and if no records found add records and commit.
check these examples:

Hope this makes sense.

Updating multiple records from single form (ASP)
I have a nested repeat region.
I have created in the parent, a form with 3 fields and an update button.
the child records all have multiple columns, 3 of which correspond to the parent.
Athe parent is bound to the child records by the shipmentID
I need to be able to update all child records from the form in the parent.
The case is this.
The child records are orders with shipdates and frequencies
The parent contains a form with fields for shipdate and frequency
The administrator needs to change the shipdate and/or frequency for all child records.
(The child records are forms as well--but that's another issue that works fine)
Shipment ID
Date Field
Freq Field
UPDATE Button
ShipmentID
Record 1
Data case1
Date
ShipmentID
Record 2
Data case 2
Date
I am doing this in classic asp with an SQL database.
So how do I get the form to update all record
[Subject title edited by moderator to make clear ASP involved]Hi,
This is one of those questions that would require far more explanation that is reasonable to expect in a forum. You should do a little poking around in the nearest Barnes & Nobles. About a half hour in a chare with a good ASP book and vanilla latte should have you on the right track.

Sharing files with multiple users on single iMac
THIS IS a REPOST from another location - more appropriate "thread"
After switching to Mac from a PC about a month ago (& not being technologically over-adept), I have finally succeeded in creating separate "User" accounts on my iMac (1 admin, 1 standard, 1 managed) to allow the 3 users in my household to create their own workspace. However, now I would like to allow them to access all files from some applications - iTunes, iPhoto, Address Book, etc. - and some of the files within Numbers, Pages, & Keynote (that were theirs to start with...but they were working on in "my" admin space before establishing separate Users.) As an additional challenge, I'd still like to have access to their files...for monitoring purposes...as we go forward. I've "searched" the Apple support files and found reference to some of this but (1) I can't seem to figure out how to move the files into the Public Folder (I did one, then logged in as another User & it wasn't there...) and (2) If they access files from the Public Folder, will they need to specifically save them back there when done? -- my other users will NEVER remember to put something back where they got it...You can give each user read and write permissions to just that folder, or to everything in it. But that will not stick to any new files that are added to the folder hierarchy after that point. When new files are created they are read and write for the creator, and read only for all others. If you want to change that it must be done manually for each new file that you add.
There is a way to get around this, and make every file/folder added to a folder hierarchy automatically get full read and write permission for the users you specify. It requires setting up ACLs. Do it this way:
1. Make a new subfolder in /Users/Shared. Call it something like /Users/Shared/sharefolder. Move all the files you want to share into this folder.
2. Go to System Preferences and unlock the Accounts pref pane. Click the + button. Make a new group (select "group" from the drop down menu). Call it something like "sharegroup". Add the users you want to that group.
3. Log in to an admin account. Launch Terminal. Paste in all three of these lines at the same time and then press Return:
sudo chmod -R +a "sharegroup allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" \
/Users/Shared/sharefolder
Enter your admin password when prompted and press return again. You are done. The users in the sharegroup can all now read and write everything in the sharefolder. They will also be able to read and write any file that is newly created or copied into the sharefolder from that point on.
NOTE: After setting this up, and you want to add more files to the sharefolder, be aware that files that already exist outside the sharefolder WON'T inherit the new permissions if they are simply moved in (i.e. drag with Finder). They must be copied in. Hold down the option key when dragging files into the sharefolder. That will ensure that a new copy will be made, and the permissions will inherit properly. You can then delete the old copy of the file from its previous location.
I hope this helps.
