Multiple WLANs pointing to same WLC interface
I would like to have a guest Web auth based WLAN that points to an Interface that I also have configured for a separate 802.1X authentication that allows access to my private network. I should note that I already have web auth configured for Guest access that only allows Internet access via separate WALN/VLAN. This would allow me to setup access for a vendor that is on-site using the Lobby Ambassador .
Is this possible and what do I need to do? I have created the seperate WLAN with Web auth and pointed it to the same WLC interface that I use for the 802.1X and this does not seem to work.
This has been resolved. I found I had AP groups setup and had not added the WALN to the correct group.

IOS device failed to get ip address on multiple wlan on the same anchor controller
Dear Experts:
in my implementation, we need 2 WLANs be served on the same anchor controller.
WLAN1: wep/40bit, integration with NAC/OOB on anchor controller for guest wlan service.
and guest account controlled by NACguest server.
WLAN2: wep/40bit, no layer3 secuirty for temporary using.
foreign controller: WiSM on v6.0.196.4 (also testing on 6.0.182.0)
anchor controller: WLC4402 on v6.0.196.4
on WLAN1:
Windows7 client get ip address correctly.
iOS (iPhone4 on 4.3.1/4.3.2, iPad2 on 4.3.1/4.3.2) can get ip address correctly on WLAN1.
WLAN2, iOS device cannot get ip address.
compare with debug message "debug clien mac" + "debug dhcp message enable"
on both foreign and anchor controller.
on foreign controller:
PM state has changed from: DHCP_REQD (7) Change state to RUN (20) last state RUN (20)
on anchor controller:
PM state always stay on: DHCP_REQD (7) Change state to DHCP_REQD (7) last state DHCP_REQD (7)
Enable/Disable DHCP Address Assignment Required is not work.
Enable/Disable DHCP proxy is not work.
Any hit this issue when get ip address failed in multiple WLANs on the same anchor controller?
In attachment log file,
DMZ.log: anchor controller on DMZ.
S3p1.log: WiSM on v6.0.182.0
S3p2.log: WiSM on v6.0.196.4
client mac: 00:1f:3b:05:33:c1, Windows7 Client
client mac: 58:55:ca:cf:d2:07, iPhone4 with 4.3.1,
WLAN1 subnet: 10.61.246.0/23
WLAN2 subnet: 10.61.248.0/23Hi, Nicolas:
just checking the attachment for the run-config on foreign/anchor controller.
DMZ_run.config - anchor controller
s3p1_run.config - WiSM on v6.0.182.0
s3p2_run.config - WiSM on v6.0.196.4
at this moment, we have disable the wlan 10 on foreign controller, and wlan 2 on foreign controller.

Multiple DMVPN Instances on Same WAN Interface
Hi Folks,
Is it possible to run Multiple DMVPN Instances on a single WAN Interface ? Can we for example configure 3 Tunnels on a Router using one same WAN Interface but running separate EIGRP Instances for each Tunnel ? Kindly let me know , AliouneHi Alioune,
Yes you can create DMVPN as you said with one WAN interface that is possible..... you can have multiple tunnel interfaces pointed to a WAN interface as the source interface which resides in public zone..... with different public ip's as the destination tunnel...
interface Tunnel1
description ** A-VPN Tunnel **
bandwidth 100000
ip vrf forwarding red
ip address 10.0.252.2 255.255.255.252
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip mtu 1500
load-interval 60
tunnel source GigabitEthernet0/0 (WAN Interface)
tunnel destination 1.1.1.1
tunnel protection ipsec profile dmvpn
interface Tunnel1
description ** B-VPN Tunnel **
bandwidth 100000
ip vrf forwarding red
ip address 10.0.252.5 255.255.255.252
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip mtu 1500
load-interval 60
tunnel source GigabitEthernet0/0 (WAN Interface)
tunnel destination 2.1.1.1
tunnel protection ipsec profile dmvpn
like the above..... shown sample...

Multiple domain point to same IP
Hi all,
I have had a DNS server up and running for awhile which seems to work fine. I now want to point a new domain name to the same DNS server. How I first approached the problem was to set up a new primary zone that resolved to the same reverse zone (which I am not sure is working...when I type host www.example.com it resolves to which ever zone I have it currently pointing to, not all...which makes sense I suppose). Can anyone provide a simple way to allow 2 domain names on one DNS primary zone? Do I need to add to my open directory setup?
Thanks a ton in advance
darnelldI think I am getting a bit out of my understanding....
You're going to be learning about DNS and IP, of routing, of security, backups, and other areas.
"On your LAN, your clients and your DHCP server will refer only to your DNS server(s), and then your DNS server(s) are then are the only widgets on your LAN that refer to your upstream DNS servers at your ISP or directly out to other DNS servers. Don't mix references to your local DNS services and to ISP DNS services within your clients, not at least until you're further along. (Mixing internal and external DNS server references didn't work prior to 10.6.3, and I'd stay away from it for now.)"
I am not sure how I am mixing internal and external.
I do not know if you are mixing your internal (LAN) and external (public) DNS references on your clients. Only you know that. You do have public DNS, and you do have private DNS. I am simply telling you not to mix your DNS server references from your clients.
I have a dynamic ip is because comcast will not sell me a static ip in my area (if you can believe that...). Until this is changed I am forced to get a "static ip" from a external source. I then use comcast as my forward ip
You don't have a static IP, and you're not getting a static IP from a Dynamic DNS provider, and you're not getting reverse DNS translations as those arrive only from your ISP, and you're accordingly going to have problems with outbound SMTP traffic; other servers will drop your mail. It doesn't matter why or how. If you don't have this, your SMTP server will be indistinguishable from a spam engine running on an infected client box, and your outbound mail will be gray-listed (best case) or dropped.
(from your link..."Select the forwarding server(s) IP address(es) in your DNS server as your upstream ISP DNS server(s), or you can configure Google DNS as your forwarding servers.")
When you configure a client, you need select DHCP, or a manual address. If you select DHCP, a DHCP server provides a unique IP address from a pool of IP addresses maintained by the DHCP server, the subnet mask, the IP gateway ("next hop") address, and one or more DNS server addresses. If you configure manually, you provide a unique IP address, subnet mask, the gateway, and one or more DNS server addresses.
When you run split-horizon, you have to make sure your clients refer to your DNS server(s). Only. Which means manual configuration on the DHCP server and/or on the clients.
I'd probably delete the whole of the local DNS configuration that you've been describing.
I'd add one A (machine) record for the host.
And I'd add one or more zones and each with CNAMEs pointing to the IP host for the Apache virtual hosts; what Apple calls "Sites". One CNAME for each virtual host. One (forward, primary) zone for each domain or each subdomain.
This DNS configuration would be the same inside your external firewall as outside; one A record in the public DNS, and CNAMEs for the virtual hosts. Like Apache web services, Mail also provides virtual hosting, but your outbound host name must match your MX record for the domain. And your MX record would likely be your A record in your public DNS. Or your mail server will have to relay your outbound SMTP messages through another provider.
And I don't prefer to use a Mac as a firewall. That's more effort, more complexity, more prone to silly configuration mistakes or software bugs, and it just isn't as easy to get it working. Look around the discussion forums for related sequences, and around setting up IP routing. If you have a firewall, you set your firewall as your IP gateway on your LAN, and you're done. -
Multiple Servers with same Remote Interface?
Is it possible to declare the same remote interface on multiple RMI servers? Secondly, is it possible to pick which RMI server will manage a particular request?
In other words, imagine if multiple servers could service a particular request that has the same signature, but the client wants to specify which server to send the invocation. An example would be the following:
public String getPhoneNumber(String pLastName) ;But the client should decide that server A should manage requests of last names starting with A-G, server B should handle H-P, and server C should handle Q-Z. The remote method invocation is the same, but the server upon which is should be invoked needs to be determined at runtime.
I realize this can be done multiple ways, with an interim proxy server that designates the server. However, I'm most interested in the ability within the RMI and/or JNDI standard to select and invoke methods on a particular server.
Thanks for any help."Server" is a little bit vague in this context.
My assumption is that you want separate RMI servers running on separate hosts. (Otherwise, why bother with multiple "servers"?)
That being said, it's not clear to me how you would expect RMI to sort out something as application-specific as you suggest. It sounds to me like you need your own registry/redirector. This is going to either be an rmiregistry rewrite by you, or - as was suggested by another poster - a proxy. -
Anchoring multiple Guest SSIDs to the same WLC
Hi All,
I've currently got a typical 'anchored' Guest WLAN solution where several WLCs tunnel guest traffic back to an isolated WLC for WebAuth - this all works fine using a mix of 5508 / 4400, all on v7.0.98.0 code.
The question is, can I add a second Guest SSID to the estate and anchor it back to the same Guest Anchor WLC that I'm already using?
I can't find anything to say it won't work and have found this that says it should, but none of this is very concrete... Does anybody know of any better references and/or have you done this in the wild?
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1276785
Cheers,
RichardHi,
yes it's totally ok.
On the foreign, just create a second WLAN and anchor it to the other WLC. On the anchor, create the same second WLAN that you anchor to itself ...
Nothing speciali in order to configure it.
Nicolas

I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN .
HI All,
I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN . the WLC are providing the HQ and one of the Branches the Wireless services .
Am using all the available 9 SSIDs at the HQ , and am using only 4 of it at the Brnche.
The problem that i have are happening only at the Branch office as i cant room between the SSIDs within Diferent VLANs but i can do it with the one that pointing to the same VLAN. Once the client ( Laptop/Phone ) connected to one of the SSIDs. it imposiible to have him connected to the other ones with Different VLAN. meanwhile, It says its connected to the other SSID but its not getting IP from that pool.
here is the Show Run-Config from my WLC .. and the Problem happening between the SSID AMOBILE and ASTAFF. i have the Debug while am switching between the SSIDs if needed .

In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

Multiple instances of the same bean class in session?
Im trying to think of a way to have multiple instances of the same bean class in session scope using JSF. For example, lets say that I have two <h:dataTable>s on the same page. They both use the backing bean called genericBean. Now, the content for genericBean will be different for each <h:dataTable>. In fact, the data source that backs genericBean is not known until runtime. It could be a database, web service, etc.
What I would like is for when JSF needs access genericBean instead of looking for the value with key genericBean in the session map it looks for genericBean_[some runtime ID]. I could specify this id in EL on a custom component, as a request parameter or whatever.
I think that I need the bean to be in session scope because the tables are complex and I want them to be editable.
I have some ideas about how I can do this but I was wondering if someone has already solved this problem or if there is a standard way to do this using tools like Shale, etc.
Thanks,
RandyWell, I came up with an interesting solution to this so I thought that I would post it here.
I have a page that looks like this.
<html>
<head>
<title>My Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<f:view>
<f:subview id="component1">
<jsp:include page="component.jsp">
<jsp:param name="id" value="a" />
</jsp:include>
</f:subview>
<hr>
<f:subview id="component2">
<jsp:include page="component.jsp">
<jsp:param name="id" value="b" />
</jsp:include>
</f:subview>
</f:view>
</body>
</html>
And component.jsp looke like this.
<f:verbatim>
<p>
<h1>Component
</f:verbatim>
<h:outputText value=" #{param.id}" />
<f:verbatim>
</h1>
</p>
</f:verbatim>
<h:form>
<h:outputText value="#{component.id}" />
<h:outputText value="#{component.value}" />
<h:commandButton value="increment" action="#{component.increment}" />
<h:commandButton value="decrement" action="#{component.decrement}" />
<f:verbatim>
<input type="hidden" name="id"
value="</f:verbatim><h:outputText value="#{param.id}"/><f:verbatim>" />
</f:verbatim>
</h:form>
The idea is that I want component.jsp to be initialized differently based on the id param. The component managed bean is configured to be in session scope but I want the component instance for id a and id b to be different instances in session scope. Therefore, I added a custom variable resolver to handle this.
public Object resolveVariable(FacesContext context, String name) {
// This id will be different for the different subviews.
HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) context.getExternalContext() .getRequest();
String id = request.getParameter("id");
// If there is an id in the request then check if this is a bean that can have multiple
// instances in session scope.
if ((id != null) && (id.length() > 0)) {
ExternalContext ec = context.getExternalContext();
// Build the new name for the key of this bean
String newName = name + "_" + id;
Object value = null;
// See if the bean instance already esists.
if ((null == (value = ec.getRequestMap().get(newName))) &&
(null == (value = ec.getSessionMap().get(newName))) &&
(null == (value = ec.getApplicationMap().get(newName)))) {
// We could not find the bean instance in scope so create the bean
// using the standard variable resolver.
value = original.resolveVariable(context, name);
// Now check if the bean implements that page component interface. If it is
// a page component then we want to rename the key to access this bean so
// that the instance is only used when the id is provided in the request.
// For example, if there are two components (a and b) we will have in session scope
// component_a and component_b. The will each point to a unique instance of the
// Component bean class.

Multiple WD Applications for same WD component
Hello All,
How can we generate multiple web dynpro applications for the same Web Dynpro Component?
I think one way out was to specify different interface view name for each application. But in one of the applications, I can see that 2 different applications have same interface view but have generated different URL's and have different parameters.
Kindly help me out with this issue.Hi Abhishek,
The functionality of a single Web Dynpro component can be accessed by defining multiple applications, each addressing a different interface view and/or a different inbound plug of the interface view. In order to define a Web Dynpro application, you must specify:
1) The component to be invoked
2) Which interface view of the root component will be used
3) Which inbound plug will act as the entry point for the nominated interface view (this inbound plug must be of type Startup)

I created an interface (from Controller > Interface) assign an ip address on /24 subnet. Tested and it works fine. Now here's the confusion.
I remove the routing for that subnet. I can't ping the ip address of the interface created above, but I can still connect to the ssid. Any idea why? What is the purpose of using this interface?Interfaces on WLC are Layer-2 and you need external L3 device for routing.
it is like SVI on switch but no Layer3(however it does some L3 for out of band management using static route config on wlc). With atleast one configured tagged vlan on WLC to its connected switch physical interface should always be trunked.
every active ssid(layer-1) needs to have interface/vlan(layer-2) mapped to it, without that it is an switch port with no vlan(including native) attached to it, however WLC mandate to select interface for all wlan created(default is management).
you should be able to ping the WLC interface ip, if the w.less client(with ip) connected wlan has same interface mapped to it or other interface with inter-vlan/L3 access.
Purpose of management interface is to carry AP traffic(that includes all wlan traffic), wlans can also be mapped to management interface(should avoid for security reasons), Dynamic interfaces mapped to wlans uses that subnet/vlan to talk to wired infrastructure from WLC to its connected switch using dynamic interface mapped physical interface. there is no wlan's mapped vlan id between wireless client until ingress physical port of WLC via AP, it is only wlc that tags the packet before forwarding to its upstream infrastruture device. -
How can I combine multiple variations of the same library?
While I have become accustomed to the new Library format/function there are still things that boggle my mind. Case in point is that I now somehow have multiple versions of the same event showing up although I didn't create them. And there is also a combination of 2 separate events that I just don't understand. My current main concern/question is how to combine the duplicitous events?:
At the top you'll see "Perlick" as the Library and "Beer Cooler" as the Event. Then down below there is the "Perlick 20140502_1515_CDT". When I opened the media drive that contains the Perlick event I found a total of 3 "extra" libraries with various long titles as the one just listed. So, my question is can I somehow combine all of this into one, all-inclusive Library and if so, how?
Thanks in advance...Hello There,

Solaris 11 IPS: How do you post multiple versions of the same package?
How do you post multiple versions of the same software package on a single IPS instance(port)? Oracle was able to do it here with versions 151 and 175 of S11:
http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/
Unfortunately, based on my searches, no where in the documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/technologies/ips-323421.html) does it explain to the development community how this is done. The best I can do is create pkg repo instances on different ports to host each different software version.
We are trying to deploy an IPS repository for our drivers and utilities that our customers can link to and pull updates from. We have been able to post a software package to the repository using the command:
pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 -d ./ Appv1.p5m
This posts the package on the IPS repository instance at port 1234 on the server. However, we would like to post multiple versions of the package on the server at the same URL. Why the same URL? So that our customers and end-users need only point to a single URL to pull down our software rather than having to add a new URL to the publisher list each time we have an update. We want at least 5 of the previous software versions to be available on the server. Posting each version of the application or driver on a different IPS instance on a different port will require customers to add multiple URLs to their publisher list and they also will not be able to initiate remote scans for updates.
Has anybody been able to do this? Is any documentation forthcoming?
Edited by: user13489824 on Jun 25, 2012 10:17 AMdhduvall: Thanks for your response. Yes, one would think that as long as the version numbers are different, you should be able to accumulate multiple versions of a package in a repository. It looks like Oracle has done it in their S11 repository unfortunately, as far as I know, they have not shared the steps on how to do this. I would like to publish two versions of the same package. I.E. two different manifests with two different fmri.pkg version strings and two different binaries.
If I publish one package after another like this:
pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m
pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv2.p5m
Then only the second package shows up in the repository, as if it over-wrote the first one.
Running pkgsend with two manifest, like this:
pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m Appv2.p5m
Will cause pkgsend to combine the packages and manifests as if they were a single package... not what I am trying to do.
Both approaches are complete without errors but neither achieves what I am trying to do.
alan.pae: Thank you. Unfortunately, the link didn't really help. I've read Oracle's white papers and IPS developer guide so I'm familiar with the topics covered.
Lex: Yes, I know. I specified the versions in the pkg.fmri value string. -
Multiple users on the same ODI installation?
Hi all
is it possible to have multiple users working with the same odi installation? We have a virtualized IT infrastructure (citrix and wmware) where we can have multiple users on the same virtual instance. From our point of view, there is no licencing issue since we have a package covering literally everything.
One of the issues are the config files stored in the installation directory of odi (../bin). Is there a way to tell odi to store them in a different location, eg. the user home?
Thanks a lot
BennoODI looks in the current working directory for the configuration files, mostly you would have issues with the snps_login_work.xml and snps_login_security.xml files, but these may be common across all users. (just don't store the username/passwords for the ODI users in them).
The way ODI works, most of what are creating is stored in the repository anyway, it is only local GUI config stuff that may be stored locally.
Short answer, yes, you can, but might need to modify the config files a little to make it work. -
Load multiple files using the same data load location
has anybody tried loading multiple files using the same load locations. I need to do this as the data in these multiple files will need to be exported from FDM as a single export file. the problem i am facing is more user related. since these files will be received at different points of time, users will need a way to tell them what has been loaded and what is yet to be loaded.
is it possible to throw a window on the web broser with OK and Cancel buttons from an event script?
any pointers to possible solutions will be helpfulwas able to resolve this. the implementation method is as follows
take a back up of previously imported data in the befcleardata event script. then in the beffileimport event append the data to the import file. there are many other intricacies but this is the broad implementation logic. it allowed my users to load multiple files without worrying about append or replace import type choices -
Multiple Browsers with the same Page Flow
I have a legacy application that I am working on migrating to Weblogic. The
legacy application allowed the user to have multiple windows of the same
module open at the same time. Users found this useful if they wanted to look
at two different records in the same module. For example, if you had a
registration app and you wanted to look at Joe's registration information
and Sue's registration. Is it possible to have two browsers within the same
session open and pointing to the same RegistrationController.jpf?
Thank You.
MichelleI believe our problem is that our form beans are class members of the page
flow thus when you open another instance of the same controller the form
beans are overwritten. Our GUI is displayed as modules containing multiple
tabs with a form bean for each tab. The module has a controller, signifying
the page flow for the module. So, one record in a module will span multiple
tabs. We did not want to have one big form bean that is why we multiple
form beans. But it now looks like we will need to store these form beans
perhaps to the session in a collection identified by the window instance
they belong to.
We also need to do multiple different page flows but I don't think nested
page flows will not work here because the page flows would almost need to be
nested of each other. I guess you could almost think of as each module is
an independent application however some can be invoked by others.

Hi Michelle,
Yes, that should be just fine. That page flow will remain the "current
page flow" as requests from both browser windows hit it. The NetUI
runtime synchronizes the action methods, so you don't need to worry about
thread-safety within them.
There's also a way to have multiple different active page flows at the
same time, but in this case you don't need to do anything special.
