Muse: Needed to replace computer.

Muse: Needed to replace my computer. Copied Muse files all into the 'same place' on the C drive in my new computer. Now most of the assets are marked 'Upload' - notably the several hundred pdf's. Tried relinking several of them to the new folder containing them. Trued to save - but it won't save to the original Muse file. It closes without saving. Tried saving to a new file, but I get the following message:
Adobe Muse has encountered an error and will now exit. Please report the last few actions leading up to this error to the Adobe CC team. Unowned !!Deleted!! UID referenced. UID: U48073 Class no longer in database. (not even in ‘deleted = = true” state).
Can anyone help - I have been building the site for 2 years now. IT has been loaded to Business Catalyst from the old computer, but rather worried about going there in case it f**ks up everything. Please can anyone help?

It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.

Simplest answer is to download the Trial version, from Adobe's website, of whichever CS6 product you have a serial number for then enter the serial number to convert the trial to a licensed version.

It has always been very basic to always maintain abackup copy of your computer. Do you not have a backup copy?

My Mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro recently was not able to boot on startup when I reset the NVRAM. I looked on the commands and there was something to do with a hard drive error. I had to reinstall OS X for me to use it again.
Since then my computer has been unusably laggy at times and performance has dropped. YouTube and other videos will lag uncontrollably and Minecraft runs at about 1 FPS. I am also running bootcamp and problems are consistent on Windows 7 as well. Do I need to replace the Hard Drive or just completely reformat it and reinstall OS X from a bootable disk?

You shoudn't consider replacing your drive unless you know that's the problem. AHT, to the best of my knowledge, does not do surface scans on drives and it can't tell you if you have bad sectors. It can, however, identify other problems so running tests on the system might help you.
Other things to consider are the following:
How much free disk space do you have? If you're running out of disk space the system will not be able to swap out properly or easily and your system will bog down.
How much memory are you using? If you're using a lot then swapping will be rampant and your system will slow down.
Are there problematic applications that don't work properly that are consuming too much memory or hitting your system with a lot of disk reads and writes?
If you're using Mountain Lion, have you upgraded to 10.8.4? If not, do so. A lot of your problems may disappear.
The easiest way to check the first 3 above is with Activity Monitor. You can find a good write up on it with the following link:

That list is pretty much the web's de facto standard list of reliable hard drive testing tools currently available for Macs, and it's reasonably up to date, unlike some of the other lists on the web that are 5 years old or older. I really wouldn't assume it's the drive until you check out other stuff first.

my y510p laptop got an issue for three times and i need a replacement
i bought it in april/2014 and more than 2 and half months wasted for maintenance.
first time:
after few weeks i got problem with screen colors and i sent the laptop and the problem was in the motherboard and they replaced it.
second time:
i got it from maintenance center with 2 issues:
1- camera wasn't working
2- suddenlly freeze from time to time , sometime a blue screen appear after , i need to turnoff laptop from the power button to work again and it takes so long to open after that.
i sent the laptop again.
note: maintenance center claims that there wasn't any issue and even the camera that they told me that they fixed it they didn't wirte it in report. that's what i figured out when i talked with lenovo customer services
third time:
suddenly freeze from time to time again when i tried to enter bios immediatly after freeze happen i found that
harddisk wasn't appearing.
so i sent it again and i asked for replacement
maintenance replied that it's a motherboard and hardisk issues.
stayed there for 45 days and i called them for like 7 times to know what is the reply on my request and every time they ask me to wait more.
today i called them and they told me that the request of replacement is refused ...!
and they told me to post a message here if i insist on replacement.

It´s crazy how many people have the same kind of problems with this computer.. and what´s even worse is that it seems that the only option is to send it to Lenovo for a motherboard replacement. I have the same problem (mainboard dead) but unluckily for me, my y510p is out of warranty (I only used it for like 4-5 months then it was stored while I was away). Everyday I get on the internet to look for a motherboard replacement myself but I just can´t find any.. Why is that?
Also, this is a "new" computer, if I´m not wrong it was released around the end of 2013. How is it that they already discontinued it? Do they usually discontinue their products that fast? Or is it perhaps all these Y510P computers had problems from production? How can someone spend over a thousand dollars, use the computer for a few months (normal use, not even gaming..) and one day is dead and the motherboard needs replacement?? Why nobody really complains about this? I really don´t know what to do as that were all my money. I really just want to get rid of this crap and never ever buy Lenovo again and never ever recommend it to anyone. I don´t even feel secure spending the money on a motherboard replacement because it seems to me that the problem will come back. Because as I said this seems to be a problem in their production of this particular model. Again, over a thousand dollars computer and its quality is worst than the cheapest ones.. shame on Lenovo.

For three years, we've had Verizon Fios Internet and TV. We've never had a phone.
Today, the contraption Verizon plugged in the wall (sadly, I'm not really sure what it is, and had forgotten it existed until today as it's tucked behind some furniture) started beeping and the replace battery indicator light is on. Furthermore, when I turn on TV, I am greeted with this message:
My questions are:
(1) If I don't have phone service, why would I even have a battery backup (much less need to replace it) to allow phone service during power outages?
(2) Since I have only internet and TV, can I safely go without replacing this battery?
(3) If the answer to #2 is yes, then how do I get the thing in the wall to stop beeping every 30 minutes?

You can unplug the battery in your optical network terminal (ONT) and the message needing to replace the battery will go away. Verizon customer service did confirm the battery is only for phone service when power is off.
I was only able to find 3 links on the alarm / battery backup. It looks like they never thought about people who did not want the phone feature and to silence the beeping with the battery removed?
I don't know how frequently my unit beeps, but I don't normally hear it because it is in my garage. I don't know if it has a pattern to when it beeps; but when I'm in the garage, I sometimes hear a single loud beep for about 1 second.
I imagine the battery must enable the laser to function when the power is off besides supply power to the copper phone lines in your house for a line powered phone. I would assume then that if one had a UPS to power the computer and router and a good battery in the BBU; then one could have an internet when the power is off too? Verizon user manuals don't mention this, so it might not work?

Need to replace pdf file on existing website. Please help!

Our intern left this summer and we're clueless about Dreamweaver. We have a Spry Menu with a link to a pdf file of our employment application. Our application has been revised, and we need to replace it on the website.
From what we have gathered, Spry Menu Widget is no longer available to download and we are unable to change the link to a new file via the widget because intern took his laptop with the widget installed.
So to make do, I have downloaded the files from the website to my Local folder, deleted the old employment application pdf file and have replaced it with the new application with the exact same file name as the old one.
My question is.... If I highlight the new application in our local folder and click upload, should this make the link in the menu bar go to the new application?

Ok, sure. So we needed to replace a pdf file that was linked from our spry menu bar. We didn't have the widget and didn't think we could download it, so we went to the folder on the bottom right hand side of the screen and opened the remote folder. We then highlighted all of those files except for the / file at the very top. We then clicked the down arrow to copy those files into our local folder. Once they were downloaded, we went into the local folder and found the file we needed to switch out. We then deleted that file, named our new file the exact same file name, and clicked and dragged it from our computer onto the same folder that contained the file we deleted. We then highlighted that file, right clicked and chose "PUT", as Jon had instructed us to do above. It uploaded the file. When it was finished, we checked our website and got an error because the pages wouldn't load. However, a few minutes later we tried again and everything worked perfectly. The new pdf file had replaced the old one and still linked properly from the menu bar.

Installing Adobe InDesign on replacement computer

I had to replace my computer (new one is an Asus with Windows 8). After uploading my Adobe InDesign software (InDesign 1.5 that worked on replaced computer with Windows XP) the software program opens, etc but refuses to open the template files that I desperately need. There is a choice of files ending in ai, pdf, eps and pdf. It doesn't recognize any of these files.
I can likely open and work with these files in photoshop Cs2 but would prefer to work with InDesign.
Any suggestions? Might it be because the InDesign 1.5 is such old software?

There is every chance the problem could be the age of the software. YOur best bet will be to run the software in compatibility mode and see if that helps.

Need help replacing a file in AE

Ok, here is my problem, I made a project on another computer and then I transfered to my computer. I dragged all of the images and sounds but ONE very important image. I downloaded that same image from online and I need help replacing the corrupted old image with the new one. Here is a picture with more detail.
I tried copy & pasting the layer properties and effects, but that didn't work. Any ideas?

Powe Mac G5 early 2004 gives error (no memory installed) Do I need to replace the Logic Board. Machine powers up,2beeps and power lights blinks 2 times and stops there, No video or any thing?

I just recently aquired a Power Mac G5 early 2004.
When I power the system up. I get 2 beeps
and the small front panel light blinks 2 times continuously.
The error codes show that it means a memory problem or
no memory present. Memory is installed.
In this case do I need to replace the mother board.
The system goes no futher, no video or any thing.

Well, it's possible that someone pulled the original RAM from the computer before they sold it, and repalced it with incompatible RAM. That, believe it of not, would be the best of all world in this case, as a working G5 logic board and its installation could cost as much as a refurbed Intel mac.
I would contact the seller if you did not personally see the computer working before you bought it.
As the computer had to be moved about--possibly shipped--to change hands, first check that all internal cards and RAM Modules are fully seated. They can work loose in some models.

Interestingly, I rand the Apple Hardware Test on my G5 (A CD that came with the computer). I ran the Quick and Extended versions. The Hardware Profile tab says I have a 2xPowerPC,G5 @1.8 GHz. So that must mean it's still reading two processors. By the way the fans have been blowing full blast for over an hour while it did these tests. So I restarted and now the darn thing is showing 2 processors (in Utilities=Activity Monitor). What happened? It "fixed" itself???
After starting up and waiting a minute, the G5 froze up. Then I got the gray screen telling me to restart.
I restarted. Then it froze up after I entered my login screen.
I force quit and restarted. Got past the login. Activity Monitor shows 2 processors. Got a dialog box: The computer was restarted after Mac OS X quit unexpectedly. I clicked "Report." Here's what it read:

What version of Muse is on my computer?

Which version is on my computer? (Mac Pro OS10.6.6) I subscribed to Adobe creative cloud and through Adobe Application Manager downloaded Muse, about 6 weeks ago. Currently "about Muse" and "info" Muse (directly from the application) say v. 1.1.9. Recently upon opening Muse a window appears announcing a new version. I downloaded directly from that window and another window stated "successful installation." Yet "about Muse" and "info" still show the same 1.1. and the new version's widgets (e.g contact form) do not appear in the widget palette. In the Applications File (Mac OS 10.6) only one Muse application is listed.
And why does your site say "version 7.2 available" yet my "about Muse" says 1.1.?
And when I update, must I remove the previous application from the application file (Mac OS 10.6), or will the new version automatic replace it?

To find out the version of Muse installed on the system go to the 'Help->About Adobe Muse' menu option. If you install the update that it prompts when you launch Muse it should replace the existing version and update it to the current version.
As far as the application manager is concerned it does not keeps the information about the Muse updates or uninstalls, it only knows the version that was installed using it.

Message "you need to restart computer" when shutdown Mac OS X or WIN7

On my book Pro with Mac OS X 0.7.2 i creted a new Bootcamp Partition and i installed WIN7 Ultimate. When installation was completed i installed Bootcamp driver. Now i'm able to login with OS x or with Win7 and both system seems to work properly.
When i shutdown Win7 or OSX a gray window is displayed with this message "YOU NEED TO RESTART COMPUTER. HOLD DOWN YHE POWER BUTTON UNTIL IT TURNS OFF, THEN PRESS THE POWER BUTTON AGAIN."; this message is displayed in 5 different langueges; under the message is displayed a black icon with the force shutdown / restart button of the mac book pro.
I follow the required procedure: if i choose to restart with OS X an alert essage is dispayed : "COMPUTER WAS RESTARTED DUE TO A PROBLEM"; dialog suggest to send notification to Apple; this message is displayed in my original language: Italian.
Some one can help me please?

That is hardware and driver issue and to resolve you are probably going to have to find what was installed and uninstall, and disconnect the device.
AppleHFS.sys can have trouble mounting drives.
To write to Windows, NTFS driver (Paragon-Software)
To stop using AppleHFS, again, replace with a Windows HFS driver
- if that is the cause
Apple does not support mounting RAID while in Windows.
Reinstall won't help. And you can't avoid forever.
Also boot from Windows 7 DVD and repair - go back to prior restore point.
