Music all in cloud and pix gone

GRRRR.... I have an iphone 5s.  Until downloading the new IOS or maybe it was when I paid for that music match thing, everything changed.
I had that music match thing (I'm sorry I can't remember what its called) since they offered it.  I don't even know why I got it because I have no idea what it does.  I think my daughter told me to get it.  At any rate when I initially paid for it nothing changed on my phone or anywhere as far as I could tell.
Then it came up for the yearly renewal and renewed automatically.  I wouldn't have renewed it because again I'm not sure what the heck it does.
Then I noticed my ios on my phone updated as well.  So I'm not sure what changed on my phone but something did.  I listen to all my thousands of songs when I'm in my car.  Well I can't do that any more because the music is no longer on my phone it has a cloud symbol by it.  So now unless I use the data on my ATT plan I don't have any music.  How do I get my music back to my phone and off the cloud?
Secondly, I think my photos changed when the IOS recently updated (or maybe it was that match thing I have no idea).  Now all of a sudden my phone has all 5,000 photos on it from Aperture.  I never had that before and I don't want them there. But how did that happen???  Other then the Match and an IOS update nothing changed.
But worse the photos that I use to have on my phone are gone.  Not the ones I took with my phone but photo back when I had Mobile me... I made an album and transfered those pix (somehow) to my phone.  They were all there until last week. Now they are gone and as far as I know I don't have them anywhere.  They are not in aperture because they were not taken with my Nikon.
Some were old pix that I scanned in a few years ago.  Some were sent to me and I moved to my older phones and each time I got a new phone I moved the pix.  Again they were on my new iphone 5s as recently as January cuz I was showing  them to a friend.  Now they are gone.
To sum it up, 2 questions:
How do I get my music back into my iphone?
Any suggestions on where to find my old ipod album?
Susan

There are two ways to sync music across your computers and devices (e.g., iPads, iPhones).
One (the "traditional" method) is to connect a cable between the PC or Mac and the device, open iTunes, and sync all or some of your music.
The cloud method requires an iTunes Match subscription ($25/year in the US, £22/year in UK). With this method, you sign up, and all your iTunes music is copied up to the cloud, where it then becomes available on all devices. If you stop the subscription you lose cloud access to the music - however, you should keep a copy of the music in its original location (e.g., the PC you started with), or download everything from the cloud to another authorized computer, to keep a local copy just in case. If you're not sure whether or not you have an iTunes Match subscription active, check your emails from Apple, or just try to sign into iTunes Match on the iPad (Settings - iTunes - iTunes Match) and see if it lets you.
"Device backup" is a separate thing from "syncing". You can back up an iPad to a computer or to iCloud. Much of your information is backed up - however, it does NOT include music. If the Apple representative told you that an iCloud backup would restore your music, he was mistaken.
I don't know if that helps you

I have all my CDs on my iPod, my old laptop crashed. How can I get my music to the cloud and/or my iPad

    Hi
Thanks for the reply, not the answer I was hoping for, one last thing if I can get the music onto a computer can I then add it to the iTunes library.
Really don't want to have to reload it all again

  • Move all music up to cloud and download as need

Am I missing something?  what I think should be a very easy process is not.  I want to know how to move all of my music to the cloud and just download what I need and then perhaps send it back to the cloud when I am done.  Please help.

When iTunes Match is activated on an iTunes library the default location of the music library is not magically moved to the cloud. It stays right where it was. This is by design. If you wish to only use cloud-based tracks then you must actively delete the music from the iTunes library and off the computer's internal HDD. It is strongly recommanded that you maintain a local backup, since iTunes Match is not a backup service.
Once you have deleted the tracks from the library just download what you want and delete them as desired. There is nothing to "send back to the cloud" as the tracks always stay in the cloud.

  • Is it possible to store all my itunes music in the cloud and retrieve as needed from my iphone

Bought my wife an 16G Iphone 5 for Christmas. She went to upgrade to 32G the day after Christmas and was told she'd have to pay a $35 restocking fee? She needs the extra storage for music thus my question: is it possible to store all my itunes music in the cloud and retrieve as needed?

    Good morning K
    A couple of things.
         1.  Anything you buy from itunes can be stored on the icloud free.  It doesn't count against storage.
         2. Music not from itunes can be stored in the cloud free up to the storage limit.
         3.  If you use and pay for itunes match (25$ a year) it will match as much of your music against the Apple      library and then only store your non-matched music in the cloud.  This is great for large libraries.
         4.  When you request a song from the cloud it needs to be connected to the net to download it so you can play                    it.  It then is stored on your iphone.  You may eventually want to delete it from the iphone but it will                      be available in the icloud for future download.
Just don't agree to "delete from icloud also.
    Cheers

  • Can I store photos and music in I cloud and relieve space on my hard drive?

can I store photos and music in I cloud and relieve space on my hard drive?

No, iCloud is not a storage device, try Dropbox or Sugarsync.

  • How do you delete phantom albums from the music on my iPad?  I keep all my shareable music in the cloud and don't want to utilize iPad storage.  I read the answer that says I have to download the music again so I can delete it but that seems silly.

i have most of my shareable music in the cloud.  I try to clean out the downloaded music on my iPad to clean up storage.  i used to be able to delete local copied music easily but somehow in ios 8 or so, I lost the ability to delete albums.  I read the support suggestion that I should re download this music so I then can delete it.   This seems so silly I can't imagine that this was Apple's intention.  Anybody got a clue?

  • How can I safely transfer my 125GB of itunes music files to free up space, but still keep itunes on my MBP, and access the music with the cloud and match?

I have already backed up all the itunes files on two different external drives. And I have already set up icloud and itunes match. I am still paranoid about deleting the files from my MBP, but I need to free the space. What steps should I take to delete the files. And can I still keep itunes (w/o all the music files) on my laptop and access the music from the cloud? I know I can run them with the external drive plugged in, but looking for a way to do it w/o pluggin in.

I have tried that as well.  The purchased songs are not in my playlists and they are still there.  I manually deleted them on the phone but the sync puts them right back on there.
I only sync playlists and they aren't on there.

  • All calendar events and notes gone

All of my calendar events and notes have been erased. I don't know why. I really needed them! If anyone has any ideas about recovering them, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

The only calendar listed is "birthdays," which appeared a while ago after I had downloaded the Facebook app and had all the birthdays of my Facebook friends. I never even wanted that calendar, so I had deselected it and had all my events on a different calendar. The other calendar is gone altogether and even the birthday one is blank. All of my notes are gone, too, and the books in my iBooks library all say cannot find the source. This is all since I installed the latest ios update. :/

  • My itunes cannot keep imported music, only purchased music. all of my playlists are gone, and new ones are gone after 2 days, please help

my i tunes loses all of my imported music and playlists after 2 days of making and importing them, its like the itunes is resetting to default, but all of my purchased songs stay on the package but not my cds.
    anyone ever had this problem?
imported music is lost but purchased stays on.
is this a pc problem or an itunes problem?
also i cannot add a file to my folders, i follow the process of adding file to library but nothing happens.

It should - it's worked for quite a few other folks. It helped that you wrote about having ESET. Other security software can do this. There's a similar issue with folks running Vista on Sony Vaio PCs - there's some Sony bloatware that conflicts with itunes. Carbonite backup software can also cause it.
    Thanks for the points.

  • ITunes Match is on but I5 cannot access any songs. All my music in the cloud and I have no issues with my IPad playing music

ITunes Match is on but IPhone 5 cannot access any songs stored in the iCloud. I have no issues with my IPad playing music stored in the cloud. All settings appear correct. • All my songs and videos gone after app transfer to my laptop (iOS 5.0)

All my songs (about 1800 songs/12GB) and videos (10gb) have disappeared while two of my apps, Asphalt 6 and Real Racing 2 were being transferred from my iPod to my laptop. I guess they were being transferred since they have been updated and I haven't synced my ipod into my laptop for a while. But today while it was trasferring, it said that I'm running out of storage continuously and later on I saw that the transfer was done, but my songs and videos were gone! And my last backup was like when the iOS first came out, so it would mean nothing to restore from backup right now.
I can see all of the songs and videos that were on the iPod still on iTunes, but when i click on them, it shows the exclamation mark which means that they have been disappeared or something... Any help please?

The storage space taken up by "Other" can be made up of, notes or files of any kind you've added to the iPod whilst using it as a hard disk or album artwork. Or sometimes when the iPod data base has become corrupt.
There will always be a few MBs of used space under "other" but if it's in GBs it's unusually large. This often happens when the iPod data base becomes corrupt.
If the iPod is enabled for disk use, you can look at the folders on the iPod through Explorer or Finder (on a Mac) and delete anything you don't want.
If it's a corruption of the iPod database (as seems likely here) it will probably need to be restored, see how to restore the iPod to factory settings which will erase the iPods contents and reclaim the used space.
Then reload the music from iTunes.
