If a track is Muted, its pre-fader sends should also be muted.
I will explain:
Suppose you have a project with 16 tracks (or more realistically, 80 tracks)...
You wish to Bounce track 25 (it has a send to a reverb).
Some of the other tracks have pre-fader sends to the same reverb.
There will be bleed in your bounce, as every track being sent
to that reverb will be heard (reverb only) mixed in with your solo'd track 25.
SOLUTION 1: scroll through every other track and de-activate every send. Then when you're done bouncing track 25, re-activate all of those sends again. (on a project with 32 tracks, we're talking about 5 minutes just to restore settings after a simple Bounce).
SOLUTION 2: Give a preference that if a track is muted, its sends are also muted.

When you set a send to pre-fader, it is also pre mute and solo. While I agree that there should be an option to have a channel's sends muted if the the channel is muted, there is a simple work around:
Select all the channels you do not want to be sent to an aux and change one of their sends to post. This will affect all selected channels. Because the signal will not be sent until after it hits the mute and solo, if a channel is muted, nothing will be sent.
Then you can simply go back and change the desired channel strips to pre fader.

Rhonda you Force Quit and app by click the Apple symbol in the upper left and selecting Force Quit... and then select the app that isn't responding and Force Quit it.
I'm not sure what is wrong with your Mail system but I'd recommend starting over with it. You can find out how in Mail Setup, Troubleshooting etc... If you still have trouble then contact AppleCare, you have 90 days of free phone service with AppleCare......why not use it?

Missing Audio track controls (fader, solo, mute, sends, inserts etc...)

After doing a "save as project" I ended up with 2 big problems. When I pull the song off the CDR and open it up on my computer the controls for some audio tracks are missing. I lose anything having to do with track control such as input, output, fade, solo, pan, inserts, buses, mute, record. The only thing i can see is the group assignment and automation pull down menus. The other problem i have is that i have to manually relink all the audio files. Why can't the session file find the audio files??? They are all in the audio files folder right next to the session file. Arg. i am running logic pro 7 and the computer that the "save project" was completed on is running logic 6 express 6.4.0.

I'll take a stab at it.
Sounds like your parameters are not viewed. In the arrange window menus - there should be a view menu and it allows you select what things to see for each track.
Maybe view parameters or view channel strip only settings may help.
Not sitting in front of Logic at the moment.
May have something to do with goign from L6 to L7,but i'm only guessing on that one.

How can I edit received emails in Apple's Mail app? Also, delayed sending of replies?

I finally switched to Apple's Mail app 4 months ago after 12 years of using Eudora (because of the inevitable - that Lion or Mountain Lion, when I upgrade, will not support the foundation architecture that Eudora is built on).
There are (AT LEAST) two functions available in Eudora that I very much want to do with Mail and currently cannot figure out how to do. I'm hoping that someone knows of a plugin that will do these functions, or will write such a plugin, or will tell me how to make this suggestion to Apple to include in a future update.
1) I want the freedom to EDIT a received message - to correct a subject line, or make it more relevant for my reference, or add a key word/prefix to the subject for future searching and archiving, along with being able to edit the message itself, so that it is the equivalent in a book (or an eBook) of adding comments/marginalia for future reference. (In my opinion, once I receive an email message, it is MINE - so I should be able to do what I want with it (which includes the responsibility of not rewriting a message to resend to appear as deceptive or fraudulent).
2) Write up a draft email, that would reside in the "Send" folder of Eudora, and for which I could select a time in the future that it should be mailed (dependent on the fact that Eudora would be running at that time, else it would send the next time Eudora was opened. I would LOVE to be able to do that in Apple Mail. Rationale: Often, when I receive an actionable email, I want to respond at that moment while the subject is fresh, but due to priorities or scheduling reasons, I don't want the response to go out just then. Maybe I want the response to go out after an event three days from now, but I want to process the message right now, and I don't want to have to remember to make a ToDo item to remind me in 3 days.

That tip takes me further down the field. And, I am able to do stuff like indent and change font color of my comments which is very helpful.
However, the big disappointment is that by dragging the original message to the Draft mailbox and then back to the original one after the edits is that it removes the original sender's name and puts mine in along with changing the heading info on date and time. That is, it creates a new message, rather than allowing me to modify the original one to suit my needs.
All the same, this was a very helpful tip. Thanks again.

How to toggle all channel automation to "mute" or "volume"?

I would like to be able to enable mute automation for all chammels simultaneously, to simplify cleaning up the beginning of each song.
At the moment, I need to select each channel separately, which is very tedious when you have 50 tracks or more...
I discovered two key commands: "Toggle Automation Controlling MUTE" and "Toggle Automation Controlling VOLUME" and I assigned keys to them, but neither seems to switch the automation to their particular mode.
What is the intended usage of these key commands?

Yeah, there are six of these commands and they're a bit odd. What they do is to toggle whether Automation works for these six things:
Volume, Pan, Mute, Send Levels, Plug in Parameters and Solo
To try them out:
Assign a controller to Pan
Set Automation to Touch
Display track automation for the current track
Press Play
Mess around with the controller that you've assigned
Should work fine and the automation will be displayed.
Now, assign a key to Toggle Automation Controlling Pan
Press the newly assigned key combo
Try recording automation again and it's disabled
Never really figured a use for these commands, although it's possible that disabling the plug-in parameters might be of some use but I'm not convinced.
One of Logic's more obscure functions in my book. Oh yes, don't forget to get rid of the key command again, unless you love it with a James Brown type passion.

Pre and Post for Sends..Confusion?

Dudes...am I crazy?
I have 2 tracks. One plays a vocal and one plays a guitar. Both are sent to the same Aux or Bus track with a reverb on it, via the sends on their respective channels.
If I solo the guitar track, I still get reverb tails from the vocal track on the bus channel as well as the guitar!
If I switch the vocal track send to "post", then the reverb tails go away for the vocal. By the way, I'm soloing from the mixer channels, not the arrange window.
Now I understand that if it were the vocal track that I had soloed then switching between Pre and Post on the send would dictate if I hear the reverb tails or not for the vocal track.
But that's not the track I have soloed! I have the guitar track soloed. So why would I hear reverb tails on a track that's not soloed. And why would the reverb tail go away on the vocal track if I change the send to Post, when that's not the channel I have soloed.
Am I crazy, or should logic know that if I have a track soloed, it should not play anything else but what's on that track? Regardless of switching from pre to post, if the vocal track is not the track that's soloed, why am I hearing anything from that track at all? I shouldn't have to mute the vocal track or switch it's send from pre to post, just to hear the soloed guitar track by itsself.

You say you love Logic's "pre/post mute send solo safe function". Sounds like quite a function Does that mean it's changeable in Logic? You make it sound like it's an option.
By the way, I understand that if you solo a track, it might be cool to also hear it's effects channel without having to solo the bus track its feeding.
But why would I hear another tracks effects? This only happens when two different tracks have the same bus inserted in their sends. Just because I'm using the same send for two different tracks, doesn't mean I want to hear both sends even if only one track is soloed. That's the part that makes no sense for me. Solo should only address and isolate the track that's soloed and whatever else is related to it (ie...busses/sends/plugs etc..)
I dunno, I guess when you solo a track it keeps open the bus/send it's using unless your exercise the pre/post send option. And if there's someting else using that bus send as well, it must need to stay open for it too.
By the way, for me sometimes Logic will continue to play a certain audio track, usually a single track of it's choosing, even if another track is the only one soloed. There are no busses, no plugs, no sends on it, just a straight track and I still have to mute it after soloing some other track. Now that's not right...pre/post etc...is not in the equasion here, can someone explain that?

Its of high importance for me to find out the user id of an unknown person sending my wife SMS's through SKYPE. The number showing up from the sender is +442032892491. Upon googling, i found that this number is linked to Skype so if any user sends a sms without setting a number in profile, the default number shows up as above. Its very important for me to know who has been sending messages to my wife mobile. Can any one please suggest. I also tried sending a message back from my wife mobile to the same number +442032892491 but not sure if its actually reaching there.

I am definetly starting to think I don't actually have a skype name. Now I tried again since the 24 hour restriction went off. First from Skype webpage ->sign in -> forgotten your skype name? ->there I enter my hotmail address ->send mail ->

So I obviously choose the second option last time since it's the closest available option for my problem, but then it gives me options:

So again it asked for my address and captcha, and after that I could choose to "verify my identity" by choosing the alt email, but since that is slight garbled and cannot be differented from the primary address, and I was already so pissed off from typing the same address over and over, so at that point I mistakenly wrote the main address again where it wanted to verify it by asking the whole alternative address and thus it never sent the account reset email for the Microsoft/Live account.
But since I originally had no problems with that Microsoft account, all I wanted was the "Skype Name", and since the only way to try to find it jumps into the restore Microsoft account thing, I'm assuming I don't have one which I could use to login to Skype, so all I can use is the Microsoft/Live account.

HT1694 How can I send videos via email (hotmail) that are 55 seconds or more?

Hotmail is supposed to have a 10MB limit and my videos are only coming to 5MB. But I can send a video that is 54 seconds long, but 55 seconds won't send. I also tried sending it through a gmail account and it wouldn't work either. Any advice? I'm using a iphone4. Thank you!

When sending an email the largest size of any file or collection of files is 20MB. A 720p HD video recording from your iPhone 4 for 55 seconds probably hits about 20MB (or just under). There isn't a way to increase the email sizing limit, however there are other alternatives such as Microsoft SkyDrive (Free), DropBox (free) and Google Drive (free) which will let you upload and share your files (like you would with email, only slightly different).
If you have a Hotmail/MSN account, you already have SkyDrive and it's easy to setup and use. Just visit: https://skydrive.live.com and sign in using your Hotmail/MSN account.
If you have Gmail (or blogger, or other Google service including YouTube) you can enable and start using Google Drive easily also, just visit: https://drive.google.com/start
If have neither a Google or Microsoft acount, and have no interest in creating an account with either of them, try DropBox. Found here: https://www.dropbox.com

How to set Query SQL Statement parameter dynamically in Sender JDBCAdpter

I have one scenario in which we are using JDBC Sender Adapter.
Now in this case,we need to set Query SQL Statement with a SELECT statement based on some fields.
This SQL statement is not constant, it would need to be changed.
Means sometimes receiver will want to execute SQL statement with these fields and sometimes they will want to execute it with different fields.
We can create separate channels for each SQL statement but again that is not an optimum solution.
So ,I am looking out for a way to set these parameters dynamically or set SQL statement at Runtime.
Can you all please help me to get this?

Sometimes receiver will want to execute SQL statement dynamically....
How you will get the query dynamically? Ok Let me assume, consider they are sending the query through file, then its definitely possible. But u need BPM and also not sender JDBC receiver adapter instead, receiver JDBC adapter.

Pre: corrupt contact blocks send/receive of SMS?

Hi all. Here's my issue - I had just had my wife add her Yahoo messenger info to the Messaging accounts on her Pre. She already had a contact for me for receiving text messages, so I tried to link the (newly appeared) Yahoo account to my full contact. Two unfortunate things happened:
1: I realized I was making the contact link the wrong way around (from Yahoo messenger profile to the full contact), so I removed the link (I thought) and re-made it from the full contact, opening the links screen there, then adding a link from the full contact to the Y! messenger profile.
2: I was doing this in a low-signal area.
What appears to have happened due to the combination of the two is that I can no longer send or receive a text message to the mobile number in my main, full contact! I am not sure what to do about this - I tried deleting the full contact and remaking it, along with quite a few soft resents, but still no texts are able to go out to, or come in from, this number in particular. Also, even after removing the Yahoo messenger profile, there is still a contact for my Yahoo identity, which apparently cannot be deleted (trying to use Menu > Delete Contact just causes the menu to hang with the Delete Contact choice highlighted).
I also tried sending an SMS from a different number and it worked fine.
I'm thinking that I might have created a corrupt contact when I did that rapid link, unlink, link again thing in a low-signal area, but I don't know.
Please help, anyone who can suggest anything! I'm happy to send my contacts (if I can still do that) to anyone who could provide analysis and a corrective method. Thanks!

I was able to reproduce the error. Here are the steps:
1. I called a number and quickly hung up, just as you would do to log a number for saving later.
2. From the call log, I clicked on the SMS button to send a text message.
3. I sent a text message.
4. From the text message log, I clicked on the number at the top to save it to contacts.
5. I saved a new contact with the number.
6. I went back to the text message log card. The text message log still had the number at the top, not the contact's name. I think this is important.
7. I went to the summary view of the text message log (where it shows the message logs for all your contacts). Again, the text message log for the test contact still showed a number and not the contact's name.
8. I deleted the complete message log for the test contact.
9. Finally, I went to the test contact and pressed the SMS button and nothing happens.
Please try this out on a test number and tell me if anyone else can reproduce the result. Try to delete the message log while it is still showing a number instead of the contact's name. I will try it again and will wait for the message log to update with the contacts name.

I can no longer send picture e-mails from my ipod. Why?

I use to be able to send pictures from the Photos app to my e-mail. Now when I try & send them, I never get them. I also tried sending them to the Facebook mail, but again- never get them. No error message pops up on my ipod. Any suggestions?

Oh my goodness! Thank you sooo much! This worked. I can now stop sending the business e-mails from my personal account - ha ha. Since you helped me with this, maybe you can help me with one more thing. I haven't been able to attach to e-mails in this account for quite awhile now, just been using a jump drive, since a previous automatic update. I didn't obsess over it due to the fact that I could still send e-mails. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

How to send external email of a Purchase Order

I have to send an external email (pdf attachment) of a Purchase Order.
I use the standard sap program: /SMB40/FM06P and the smartform: /SMB40/MMPO_L.
Within transaction NACE I used the following entries:
Medium: 5 (External Send), Program: /SMB40/FM06P, Form routine: ENTRY NEU and Smartform: /SMB40/MMPO_L.
After running transaction ME22n (messages: External Send) I got the following error-messages in processing log:
- Please maintain an output device in your user master data.
- Archiving format not equal to PDF.
Please, can someone help me to solve this problem.

Can not send email from 2013 to 2010 server?

I've got an Exchange 2010 and 2013 coexistence scenario (migration project). I'm not able to send an email from a mailbox residing on Exchange 2013 to a mailbox residing to Exchange 2010. I've tested the following with powershell send-mailmessage:

I also can send an email from an user on the Exchange 2013 server to our mailgateway (smarthost). I've added no additional receive connectors
on the Exchange 2013 server. The email that's not delivered remains in the Exchange 2013 queue. Exchange 2010 is still the main email server so all messages are delevired to this server (have not moved mailboxes yet).
We've got one 2010 server and one 2013 server with all roles installed.
What am I missing here, or will this work when I make Exchange 2013 the dedicated server?

Hi,
From your description, when you send an email from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010, the email will remain in the Exchange 2013 queue. Please check the error message in the Queue Viewer, if it is: "451 5.7.3 Cannot achieve Exchange Server authentication."
If yes, this issue is because the Exchange server can't authenticate with the remote Exchange server. Authentication is required for Exchange servers to route internal emails between them.
