My 6th Gen Nano's screen wont scroll, Its not a impact or crush damage.

It starts up and sits on the home screen, even after a restore. Ive removed the screen protector.

Fixed: Seems a low level format to fat32 caused the ipod to redo its folder structure. Then did a restore.

  • 6th Gen Nano- White Screen

I have a 6th generation ipod nano and I'm getting a white screen, I have tried resetting but it will not turn off... any suggestions?

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity.  A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less.  Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

  • 6th Gen Nano screen turned sideways.

The screen on my 6th Gen Nano flipped on it's side, kind of like most smartphone's do now a days but it won't go back to it's original position? Anyone else have this problem? I already tried restarting it but that didn't work.

Place two fingers on the screen and rotate in the direction you want the screen to move.

  • How does the 6th gen nano screen view from 2 different positions ?

how does the 6th gen nano screen view from 2 different positions

Same as the current Ipod Video or "Classic" there is an option under settings to toggle between original aspect ratio or Full Screen.

  • My 6th gen nano screen will not rotate, stuck perpendicular to buttons

All of a sudden, my 6th gen nano screen will not rotate. I have it on a watch band and it is perpendicular to the buttons (and my view of it).

planb77, you have truly taught me a lesson, and after all these years, I finally see that it is very helpful to READ THE MANUAL.  I was having this issue, and it was spell out for me all this time.  I never liked to look at the manual to resolve my technical issues, but I will always go there first to see if I can resolve any issues.

  • 6th Gen nano wont connect to computer or itunes.

Alright so when i connect it itunes identifys that i have plugged in an ipod but it cant properly identify it, usually when you plug in a new ipod you give it a name and all that, but i cant even get that far. My itunes is updated and ive unplugged and plugged in my usb's multiple times and restarted my computer multiple times, used to safely remove hardware button to reconnect it, and turned off my firewall, it seems ive tried everything and its not working.. im about to just take it back becuase im begining to think its defective. It wont show up as a driver on my computer either, and ive tried resetting it without itunes, nothing seems to be working... if theres something i missed leave a post ill try it and get back to ya(:
:EDIT: ive also followed the entire apple troubble shooting page for the 6th gen nanos and it didnt help me at all D:

The older pods are different from the newer ones. The newer ones need some software to be working correctly that the older ones don't.
It sounds like the apple USB stuff is not installed correctly for you. Here is an article from apple on what to do:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
Some other things to keep in mind:
    - Don't connect the iPod through a USB hub
    - Connect it directly to the computer through a USB port on the back, not one in the front. The USB ports on the front of Windows based systems are notoriously underpowered.
    hope that helps,

  • My apple 6th gen nano turns on but only has a bright light without images

my apple 6th gen nano turns on but only has a bright light without images

    Hi fejevitzky,
Your question, "Based upon that, I believe you are telling me you do not think it is the BIOS--is that correct?" Yes, as long as you dont see any "white" light reveal from LCD bezel back side while with blank screen state. LCD bezel is the cover around LCD, most design put LED modeule at the bottom side next to LCD. While back light is not on during boot up sequence, that means system doesnt have chance to get BIOS program running. It also means, it stuck at state of hardware bring up. Normally motherboard related.

  • 6th Gen nano,

Never had a problem with my 6th gen nano until now. Can't move songs from iTunes to it any more.Keep getting error stating Unable to Sync unknown error 13019. Any suggestions?

    2) Bigger screen - gone
I believe that the screen is bigger.
I predict the Nano to be an epic failure. One has to wonder how the iPod team could possibly trash the elegant and highly functional G5 and replace it with......@#$%
That's very similar to what people said about the Mini. Smaller, too expensive. Turned out to be the one of the best selling iPods ever.
The new Nano was the only new iPod that really grabbed me. I ordered one as soon as the speech was over. I have one of the, I believe, 3rd gen Nanos, which was also squarish. Loved the shape. As I primarily use my Nano for running, video capture and playback never really mattered to me. I like the small size. I have a couple of Shuffles which are nice enough but I really don't like the lack of screen.
I think this Nano has huge potential.

  • Questions about 6th gen nano fm radio

Is it possible to dock your 6th gen nano in the 30 pin car adapter and listen to the nano fm radio over your car stereo speakers?
Does the car act as the antenna?
My problem is that i have a U. S. spec. VW Golf, driving it in Germany, where my U. S. spec car radio will not fine tune into German channels and I thought this might be a possible fix.  yes or no?

If this is the case (moisture damage) I'd be quite surprised.
I clip it to my waistband, with the screen facing outward. It doesn't really get sweaty at all, maybe the backside of the metal clip, and the screen stays relatively dry. Maybe my hands are sweaty, but this is supposed to be a workout-oriented MP3 player for active people, right? I am just using it on an indoor elliptical trainer, and it never sees rain or dripping moisture.
When I get my (fourth) unit, I can try clipping it to my outer pocket, but if this is the problem they are not sealing it very well. What is strange is that the unit itself looks very tightly sealed from the outside and it's hard to believe they cannot do better.

  • I just got the 6th gen nano...

I just got the 6th gen nano and when i try to touch the apps it comes up with a square outline around the app symbol and I can drag that outline around the screen and onto the clock, battery symbol, etc. How can I fix this?

  • 6th gen nano doesn't stay on or off

My ipod nano 6g stops playing occasionally - not just when the screen goes black.  It will run about 40 minutes and then quit, and after that somewhere between 3 and 30 seconds at a time.  It also does not stay off even when I turn it off, the screen keeps coming back on and runs the battery all day.  Suggestions besides the headphones?  I've tried that.

My new (5 months old) 6th gen nano started doing the same thing, starting a week ago!  I had to trade in my previous nano because the screen went white.  Paid 150 for this one, now this again!   I see alot of the same problems posted everywhere.  Is there an Nano (6G) recall in the near future?
So where do I go from here?

  • 6th gen Nano doesn't recognize "Album Artist"

I've recently bought a 6th gen Nano and noticed that while my iTunes recognizes "Album Artist" for songs with featured artists, but my iPod doesn't.  It'll list, for example, "Matsushita Yuya" and "Matsushita Yuya ft. Sista" as two different artists in the "Artist" menu even though they both have "Matsushita Yuya" as "Album Artist."  Both kinds of songs show up in the same album under the "Album" menu.
I've tried listing as a compilation, changing "Sort Artist" and "Sort Album Artist," but nothing groups the songs together on my iPod under the Artist menu while keeping the featured song artist.
Listing as a compilation and changing "Sort Album Artist" doesn't change anything.
When I put "Matsushita Yuya" in "Sort Artist" for a "Matsushita Yuya ft. Sista" song, my iPod just gets rid of the featuring part all together.
I've looked online, but as far as I've seen, other 6th gen Nanos don't have this problem.
