blackberry desktop.
When i connect it it gives a usb error that the drivers are not installed succesfully
are there usb drivers for the blackberry 8520 curve ?
kind regards G.

Have you done a battery pull yet?  If not, give that a shot.
Open desktop manager first, then try to connect the phone when it says "connect your device"

  • Blackberry 9900 will not connect with Blackberry Desktop (v 6 or v7). I am running Windows 7.

I am running Windows 7, and have a Blackberry Bold 9900.  This has some music on but most importantly my work diary and contacts which I synchronise through Desktop.  I also use it as an external modem and tether my PC through it if I’m somewhere with no wireless.
Yesterday, I did these things during the afternoon:
    ·         Connected a Bluetooth device to my PC (headphones)
    ·         Needed to load a series of drivers for Windows for this to work
    ·         Upgraded from Blackberry Desktop 6 to 7 (following prompt when connected)
    ·         Set up a Bluetooth connection between my Blackberry and PC.
    The next time I connected:
    ·         On The Blackberry smartphone I got the normal Blackberry is plugged in message, with normal options (USB Drive / Sync Media / Charge Only), and software opened as usual
    ·         But I was prompted to Connect Your Blackberry Device (with link to troubleshoot connection).  Clicking this, I was taken to a page which suggested I check the cable etc. (which I did, all OK) and “...turn off synchronization applications or antivirus applications temporarily”.  I disabled Avast, which made no difference, and I don’t know what a “synchronization application” is
    ·         Other aspects of the connection are working (i.e. I can still download photographs from the Blackberry, and still see it as the ‘F:’ drive)
    I therefore conclude that:
    ·         Cable / physical connection is good (also tried a different cable - no change)
    ·         Something I had changed had corrupted things, so:
    ·         Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop v7 and replaced with the version I had been using successfully until yesterday (v6)
    ·         Removed the Bluetooth connection to my Blackberry.
Made no difference, so checked Blackberry help forums, which confused me more.  One thing which I did discover, was that in Device Manager, although Blackberry is visible attached to PC (and says it is working correctly), it DOES NOT appear in the list of Network Adapters (I don’t know if it did before, but one answer in the tech forum suggested this is significant – though not sure why or what to do about it)
Any help would be very welcome – been at this for ten hours now and making no progress!
    Many thanks
    Clive

This worked for me after several hours on the phone with Blackberry Support.  I hope it works for you too:
Finally got it working again! Re-downloaded the desktop software (but when you start it up, make sure to uncheck the automatic update option). While that was downloading, I was instructed to go to microsoft.com and search for and download .NET Framework 3.5. Once you click to download that, there will be an offer to download 2 other items. One of which will be Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer). Click to download that too. Once they are finished downloading, run both files. .Net Framework 4 Client Profile will take longer and will ask you if you want to repair or remove. Choose repair. The repair took several minutes, but once it was done, I clicked "Finish", opened the BB Desktop Software, UNCHECKED THE AUTO UPDATE OPTION, and plugged in my phone. Once windows finished installing the drivers, Low and behold! The Desktop software recognized that the phone was connected! I hope this helps you resolve your issue as well. When it again offered me an update I clicked to update later (meaning never!). Best of luck to you.

  • Playbook won't connect with blackberry desktop.

since last week I have been having problem with connecting my playbook with my pc.
I have google regarding this problem but it all seem that non of my search had same problem as mine. so here the problem i'm getting.
when i connect to my pc i get pop up from blackberry device manager saying that playbook is connected and my blackberry desktop run (have auto run option on) while connecting to playbook it give me error saying "If the device is rebooting or has a dead battery. click retry to attempt to recconect once the device reboots. if clicking retry doesn't connect the device, or the device isn't rebooting with a charged battery. you might need to update your blackberry table os to correct the problem." with 3 option of retry, update and cancel.
I tried both retry and update but it don't fix anything i'm keep getting same error.
now when i searched on google they said it might be mine usb cable but i'm very sure its not since blackberry device manager can see the playbook, and blackberry desktop can update the playbook.
just to give more info here is setting I use on my playbook.
    under security
password enable (this was enable even before i had this problem)
    development mode enable
    under storage & sharing
    usb connections: automatically detect
    File Sharing On
    Wi-Fi sharing On
    Password Protect Off
that the only setting i have set it up on my playbook.
    playbook os. 2.0.1.358
    blackberry desktop version. 7.1.0.32
    blackberry device manager. 6.0.0.48

  • Itunes wont connect with my iPod?

My itunes program wont connect with my ipod. It will charge it sometimes but after a little bit of time, sometimes the ipod will say that charging is not supported with this accesory.  Also when the ipod does connect in itunes it says that an unknown error has occured when connecting to my iphone. But im connecting an ipod touch. So im really confused and thank you for any help.
Oh and its a 4th gen ipod touch that is white if that helps. i got it back in november last year.

I'm also having this problem but it seems only to have occurred once I introduced my iPad Mini to iTunes (this may have been coincidental of course!).  The cable I'm using is the one which came with my iPod Touch version 4.2.1 (bought on the 23rd of July 2010) and the cable still charges the iPod as it always has.  I don't have the luxury of being able to try logging in to iTunes on any other computer but I've tried absolutely everything that has been suggested in the support pages.  I really want to delete some of the music from this iPod but I think I need to be able to sync with iTunes to do so.  Is it just that my 3 year old iPod is just too old for the latest version of iTunes?
Any suggestions would be most gratefully accepted.

That is because the iPod (and iPad and iPhone) do not have the necessary BT profiles to do that.

  • Photosmart wireless B110 printer has lost its connection with my desktop PC.

My Photosmart wireless B110 printer has lost its connection with my desktop PC. I can still print from my laptop so I know the printer is working fine.
When I check ink levels through 'Printer Proerties' the message I get is 'The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device', so I guess this is a clue. I would appreciate any help you can give.
    THank you.

Just as a preliminary step, we're going to go through a complete and clean uninstallation and reinstallation. First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer (be sure to select your correct OS):
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=4022343
Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!

  • Desktop won't connect with Blackberry

I'm using Vista Home Premimum and I have uninstalled ActiveSync. I have installed vesion 4.5 (4.3 won't work. It starts and then a second later shuts down.) When I connect the blackberry to the USB port, the desktop doesn't connect with it. The computer recognizes the blackberry and device manager shows that it is working properly, but the desktop won't connect.

Although the following thread had XP as the operating system, I believe this might be a good way to isolate your problems. It resolved the problem for them. Please note StoneRivers post.

  • Nightmare with Blackberry Desktop and 8100 !!!

    Hello,
I have been struggling since 2 full days in order to setup the synchronisation between my 8100 and the Blackberry Desktop Software working ... without success !
First, I have to say that this was working some weeks ago.
I was first with the Device Manager from Orange (fr) and the installation file : 8100M_PBr4.2.0_rel79_PL2.2.0.39_A4.2.0.67_Orange_FR.exe
and the Blackberry Desktop Software was the 7.1 version. So with this configuration, no UBS was recognized.
I tried to come back to an earlier version of BDS (4.5 multilingal). The USB connexion was OK and I was able to make a backup, but as I am using Outlook 2010, whan I tried to setup the synchronisation of the different applications (calendar, adress book, tasks), I got the following message : no available message store => nightmare !!!
If somebody has an idea, that will be great.
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Also, here is the list of troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!
    Good luck!
