My Asus Ultrabook says of the download of Premiere Elements 10 "This app can't run on your PC" and will not open installer (although I PSE10 working)
I am running Win 8.1. I have no DVD drive, so i downloaded.
Originally, the download #1 of 2 has an extension of ".7z". I changed this to ".exe" .
change it back to .7z.
then download the accompanying file 2 of 2 (the exe), put both the 7z and exe in the same directory and click (or double click) the exe.

Clear your browser cache and try downloading again. Make sure you get the 64 bit installer.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

I downloaded Yosemite and now my iPhoto has a bar across it and will not open. I need to update to the latest version. The app store says the latest version is not available in the Canadian Store. What can I do.
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

No, Jim. I did not know where the backups were! I've been researching this online, on here, and asking everyone I knew that used lightroom if they had any idea how I could get lightroom to open again. I checked out "permissions" too. Finally, I went to the lightroom folder which was in my PICTURES library and double clicked on "Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrdata" and Lightroom opened up. I hadn't backed up the images since the 24th so all of those that were edited since then went back to being unedited. I had already exported them to another folder so I don't have to do anything to those anyway. Is this lrdata the backup? I had a couple of people tell me to go to Lightroom and do this and do that, but I couldn't open Lightroom up to do anything at all! After getting Lightroom back, I got the 5.5 update and everything seems to be back to normal. I appreciate your help AND your kindness to someone that hasn't got a clue about computers or how this software works.

Updated Facebook via the apps store. Now, icon is "grayed" & will not open, nor will it let me delete it, so I can re-download. Has anyone had this problem?
Do you have another disk or Mac connected that has Pages '09 from the Mac App Store installed? If so, the MAS will "see" it & will report it as installed. Unmount any & all drives, including Time Machine backups, that might have Pages '09 on them & then relaunch the MAS & see if you can download it.

TerranceThanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

Hi..I have just recently got an iPhone and I had installed some apps already but now when I try to install and download any apps it just sits there on "waiting" and will not download.. Im able to erase it but no apps will download now. I have tried logging out of the app store but it still did the same thing. I also tried resetting it and that didn't work either. I've tried everything I can think of but still just sits there saying "waiting." what do I do?

My Itunes says there is a corrupt file and will not open (IMac 2010). I couldn't fix it by reinstalling ITunes so I moved ITunes to trash. Interesting. This sort of thing is more common on Windows systems. Taken at face value, one of the iTunes program files (one of the Japanese language resources) is damaged.
I'd try running your Disk Utility over your startup disk. Does it find/repair any damage? If so can you empty your trash and reinstall your iTunes successfully now? -
My Ipod Touch 4th Generation is connected to wi-fi and will not open the app store. Says it cannot connect to iTunes Store. I can get on the internet but for some reason it won't connect to the app store or the Software Updates.

I Purchased a book in iBooks on my iPad air with all updates complete 8.0.2 and the book is listed under purchased and will not open to view
Tapping the icloud arrow should get it to download to your bookshelf and it should then get 'downloaded' against it in Purchased instead of the arrow. See if any of the following fix it :
- close the iBooks app via the device's taskbar and then re-open the app and re-try downloading it : iOS: Force an app to close.
- soft-reset of the device : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
- log out and back into your account : select the Featured tab in the app, scroll to the bottom of it, tap on your id and log out, and then log back in
