My CSS rules from scratch. Any problems so far?

I feel like there might be; comes up fine in DW, but I don't know, just not completely confident with what I've put in so far.

Hard to tell without seeing the rest of your code. Add some HTML tags and Lorem ipsum or dummy text to your page. Then preview in all the major browsers IE, FF, Opera, Chrome/Safari.  Also test with different text and viewport sizes.  If your page holds up, you're in good shape.

  • Hello everyone! Did you find any problems so far using hotspots?

Hello everyone! Did you find any problems so far using hotspots with iPhone 4?

Just the usual ones in dealing with some routers with buggy firmware and such.
I'm sure there have been many who have had problems, but mine has worked beautifully at a wide variety of hotspots like those at McDonald's, Starbucks and Borders.

  • Unable to move css rules from one css to another

    hello,
I am attempting to move several rules from a style.css to another style.css - the original css is in a folder in the root folder of the site, while the css that i want to add the rules to is in the root folder. I am getting the following error "File Style.css does not exist. Would you like to create it?" - any suggestions would be great otherwise I will have to recreate a dozen rules! thank you!
    jenny

Are you comfortable enough to open both CSS files in Code View and cut-and-paste the rules across manually?
Takes seconds doing it that way.

  • HT204291 All of a sudden, my Apple TV requires HDCP for playback. It is directly connected to my HDTV and I never had any problems so far. Apple TV  also refuses to play movies rented from iTunes. What's going on?

Why does Apple TV suddenly requite HDCP for playback?
No mirroring possible, it even refuses to play films rented from iTunes.
Apple TV linked directly to HDTV via hdmi cable?

    Hi Seraphiel07.
I have a very similar issue. Hardware involved:
Apple MacMini (Mid 2011) - OSX 10.8.2. iTunes 10.7. Home Sharing enabled.
Apple TV (3rd Generation). Home Sharing (access) enabled.
Apple MacBook Pro (15" Mid-2009). OSX 10.8.2. iTunes 10.7. Home Sharing enabled.
Apple iPad 2 (Wifi only). iOS 6
    Apple iPhone 4S. iOS 6
    All connected through:
Apple Time Capsule 8.0211n (4th Gen)
I have an iTunes library on the MacBook Pro, shared over "Home Sharing" and another (duplicate content, different library name) iTunes library on my MacMini, which is also accessed through the Apple TV.
All software is current (as of Sep 26th).
All movies are iTunes purchases. 80 in total.
All files are purchased (and home shared) under one account.
My last two iTunes purchases both HD movies on 09/17/2012 and 09/05/2012 refuse to appear on any device accessing either of the two Libraries over Home Sharing. It should be noted that every other movie (the other 78) all show up and play correctly. I therefore know it is not an issue with connectivity, otherwise I would see zero movies available.
    I have:
    1. Removed all content from each Library and re-added
    2. Upgraded the OS on the MacMini 10.8.2
    3. Tested viewing the two missing movies on other Apple devices and no luck.
    4. Turn home sharing on and off within iTunes and also on each device.
It would appear to me that the issue is with the files themselves, rather than the devices as different devices and different versions have been tested.
    All comments welcome.

  • Starting from scratch, any sugestions or tips...

Hi I am working with professional artist to print wide format design for fridges, kids rooms etc...
What sort of stuff can you sugest I should keep in mind.
    Thanks for you advice.

    Radger,
It may be worth remembering that you can work in any scale and scale up in connexion with printing (you may create a PDF at the working size); vector artwork will just scale fine, raster artwork, if any, must have the required resolution at the final print size, so if you scale up the working resolution must be higher by the scaling factor.
Apart from that it all depends on the actual artwork, and how it is (originally) created if already settled (or done).

  • How can I view/edit the CSS rules that apply to an Order Registration Layout ?

*Note: I am new to web design and I did not create the site that I am working on. I am also very VERY clumsy with CSS at the moment *
I have just begun using Dreamweaver to work on a Business Catalyst site. I am attempting to edit the CSS of the layout for the Order Registration Form. The CSS is applied from the site-wide template that is assigned to the Order Registration Layout. When viewing the layout in Dreamweaver, it does not display any CSS info for the page. However, when viewing the live page for the Order Registration, it is clear that CSS is adversely affecting the layout.
Is there a way to link the css rules from the site-wide template to the Order Registration Layout? Or should I just add a new CSS rule directly to the Order Registration Layout (possibly overriding the site-wide template's CSS)?
    Thanks!
    Nate

I've used Firebug as well as the Webkit developer tools in Chrome and Safari which have surpassed Firebug in my opinion.  But they all suffer from the fact that the changes you make in them have to later be applied to your code which means you have to take the extra steps of trying to remember what all changes you made in Firebug and copying and pasting them back into your files.  Whereas in Dreamweaver you can Inspect, make changes directly to the code in your file, and you're done.    Not happy with the last few changes?  Undo.  Want to start completely over? File > Revert.
Dreamweaver has excellent tools for determining what css is being applied to an element and by what means.  And it's a more streamlined and direct workflow where you work directly in your code.   I still use Firebug and the others from time to time though.  But only for very basic "spur of the moment" testing.  And usually only when I don't have immediate access to the raw files.

  • Export css rules to an external style sheet

    Hi
For some reason, when i try and right click on my selected styles to move them into a new external style sheet the option to move css rules isn't in bold so i can't perform the task. Its the same when i try and select move css rules from the format tab in my toolbar. Has anyone come across this before or know another way around it. I also seem to get different options appear on my right click depending on what view I am in, is this normal?
    Thanks
    Ellen

Why don't you manually move your embedded CSS code into a new CSS file (in code view)?
Then link your HTML pages to your external style sheet.

  • Any problems with Quicktime?

I just read a review coming out in USA today on the new intel iMac. In general, it was positive, though not very detailed.
One thing it did say was this:
"Intel is Microsoft's longtime partner, and I'm not suggesting guilt by association. But my first encounter with the new Mac was the kind of experience I might have expected to see on a Windows machine. I couldn't use Apple's QuickTime software to play a Web video of
Steve Jobs' keynote at Macworld last week. And I couldn't preview TV shows in the iTunes store.
Apple admitted I'd found a bug; there was no fix by press time. "
Has anybody else experienced these anomolies or was this peculiar to this reviewer's particular experience?

I haven't had any problems so far. I have the new 20" and I spent the whole night last night watching movie trailers off of the Apple site (I know, but this computer is just fun).
I am having troubles getting .avi drivers to work though. I'm new to Mac so, maybe this will just take time to learn, but so far no dice. All I get is recognition of the video length and no picture or sound. It even plays and the counter works. Being so new to Mac it's hard to determine if it's a Intel issue or not.

  • 0CRM_OPPT_H Infosource extraction problem (no transfer rules from Content)

    Hi there,
I'm having a problem with 0CRM_OPPT_H infosource on BW 7.0 and Content version 703 SP9.
After activating the object from content there is no transfer rules for header infosource, item infosource is ok and I'm getting data. I've tried to created a DTP from scratch but I'm not geting data from source system. I've tested getting data from source system with RSA3 extraction test and it's working fine.
I've been checking on sdn and tested changing authorizations but it doesnt work.
Any ideas ??? It's normal I'm not getting transfer rules from content? Why I can not assing Datasource 0CRM_OPPT_H to inforsource 0CRM_OPPT_H??
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Carlos

I believe I had the same problem as you did.  When you're installing the Business Content in BI you have to make sure BI knows which source systems you're installing BC from.
Go to RSA1 -> BI Content
In the Edit drop down menu choose "Source System Assignment"
Make sure your CRM and BI system are checked in the window that pops up.  Try collecting for the 0CRM_OPPT_H again and see if the objects you're missing show up this time.  If that doesn't work search through the specific object types for items you're missing.  For example, search transfer rules for "0CRM_OPPT*" or just "0CRM_OPPT" (i'm not sure if the wildcard is valid in this instance) and see if what you're looking for shows up in the list.
    Hope this helps.

  • DW CS3: Template & CSS Rules problems

Dreamweaver CS3 Templates and CSS Rules.
I've built a basic html page with a header, navigation links and main content area, then saved this as a template with the content area as the edit region.
When I create new html pages from this template I want to insert Divs in the edit region for each new page, which I can successfully do, but for some reason Dreamweaver is not allowing me to create new CSS Rules for each new Div? So I'm not able to control position, text layout, colours etc for the new content. So my question is how do I do this?
I got around this with the current website by creating the template with virtually all of the content for the entire website firstly, then deleting as necessary for each page, which I know is the wrong way to build html site pages from a template!
I wonder if someone could please point me in the right direction to get me back on track? Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a meta tag at the start of the CSS rules. Here's a copy and paste of the code generated in DW CS3. Template was created from a html doc...

I am unable to download updates directly to iPad 2 , now trying to reinstall one from scratch but download keeps stopping and the restarting. Can you offer any advice, this happening when trying to download to laptop in itunes as well. Have tried to download on different broadband lines without success. Is this an apple problem due to high demand or something else?
Everything has worked well until about a month ago, up to date iOS 5 and itunes installed. Tried resetting numerous times, turned off all apps still no joy. Ipad was great but now feeling buying one was mistake. Also recent music purchase was useless and tunes would not play correctly.

Since this is happening on the iPad and the computer, it might be worth a try to reboot your router - unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
Quit iTunes on the PC, reboot it and the iPad as well
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

  • Updating to FF 4 yesterday completely wiped out my entire browsing history -- and started again from scratch as of yesterday. This is an extremely alarming, disappointing, upsetting discovery!!! Is there any way to restore / recover what was lost?

I went to "History" & found EVERYTHING wiped out & started again from scratch after d/loading new FF version. Most people are rabid about CLEARING History, but I use mine extensively. Finding it gone was not welcome. Any way to fix / recover this?

I had this problem but when downgrading from FF4 to FF3.6. I was able to recover everything, so maybe the solution is the same.
    [[Profiles|Find your profile folder...]]<br/>
    Close FF
If there is a file called places.sqlite.corrupt:<br/>
    Rename places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old<br/>
    Rename places.sqlite.corrupt to places.sqlite<br/>
    Restart FF
And if there isn't well...sorry =/. You might want to save these files elsewhere too just in case before renaming them so they can be replaced.

  • Will reinstalling OS X from scratch tidy up problems?

    Hello,
I'm guessing that normally the answer to my question would be yes. However. I bought my 15" MacBook Pro just over a year ago, and having little experience with macs kind of made a mess of it while checking out as many free apps (many of which I removed) as possible before deciding I was better buying apps that had good reviews - a decision that has worked out well. However, this was after some 'damage' was done. Early on I noticed that the computer would not shut down properly, so I did a hard reset a few times. It shut down and booted up after that, but slower than originally. It can take between 30 seconds to a minute to start up now. I upgrade to Mountain Lion shortly after its release, a decision which I don't regret, but start up times have not improved. I keep a full time machine backup of the whole computer. What I'm wondering is, if I make a fresh reinstall of the OS and then restore from Time Machine, will all the left over junk and the slow start up etc be restored to it as well? Or, will the system run better despite everything being restored from Time Machine?
    Thanks and blessings,
    David.

It may depending upon what the issues are. In your case, howwver, reinstalling from scratch then restoring your Time Machine backup will simply restore whatever was causing problems before. The only way to avoid such issues is to reinstall from scratch, but not restore anything from your Time Machine backup. Reinstall what you need from their various sources such as re-downloading or installing from DVD media. Only install one item at a time, then test for a while to be sure you don't have any problems. Verify compatibility before you install any software - App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

Hi. I am just about to move from the UK to Kuwait. Will I have any problems using my iPhone 4 and able to join a local carrier using this device please?

If your phone is locked to a particular carrier, you must contact them to request they unlock it. Once they've taken care of that and you've followed the instructions to complete the unlock process, you will be able to use the phone elsewhere.
