My cursor's doing funny things

It's only just started happening today and I have not installed anything new in the past few days but my cursor doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It has a hand cursor when it should be a pointer or finger cursor.
Any ideas? I've repaired the Disk Permissions and nothing was found.

Does it do it ALL the time, or just sometimes?
If it does it ALL the time, my first suggestion would be to create a new user, and see if the problem persists.
Assuming it doesn't, then look in your User>Library>Preferences folder for those related to your Mouse, and delete them. Log out, then back in. You may need to visit the Mouse Preference Pane to make whatever changes you need, but deleting the mouse preferences may help solve your problem.

I am currently working on a video that requires lots of compositing using PNGs with transparency. Everything was fine, until I decided to render. Then this happened:
Some of the PNGs turned into a bunch of pink blocks, as if the file were corrupted. It even happened with a PNG with no transparency-=
I've tried:
Trashing Render Files
Changing Alpha Handling
Export without Render
Using "Add" as the Blend Mode.
What can I do?

I suggest you begin by deleting preferences, as so many weird things seem to be caused by corrupt preferences.
You can also try creating a brand new project, composite a few pngs and check if the weirdness also occur there; if it does not, then maybe there was some corruption in the project, in which case selecting everything and pasting into a new project may cure it.

I am having a problem accessing Hotmail email messages via Fireflox server. When I am in the Inbox, reviewing messages, it either freezes up or a "1 item" small icon window follows cursor and does not allow me to enter messages or do anything. Have to log off and start over. Suggestions>?

Can you detect any pattern to it, whether related to messages with attachments, or particular advertising on the page, etc.?
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
(Usually the dialog will refer to live.com rather than hotmail.com, that's normal.)
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?

My imac is doing strange things:
-delaying between users: when closing session it goes to blue, then takes a while to appear users signin box, and then wont recognize mouse command to enter until a couple of minutes later... then everything seems alright until....
-it gets stuck between things, the rainbow wheel appears and its just delays there forever....
-and every now and then the mouse starts flickering and bouncing wildly onscreen.

WZZZ answered about where to get iStat. And do check the SMART status. If it is an overheating problem due to a fan or logic board problem, your hard drive is possibly cooking itself to death. If so it isn't a faulty hard drive even though the hard drive might fail. So assuming it's a temperature problem, even if you are able to repair things on the disk with software, that is working on symptoms, not causes. I could be wrong however.
RE: AppleCare: Your iMac came with one year of AppleCare (Apple's warranty program), but within the first year you can buy 2 more years. You have to extend by the one year anniversary of purchase of the computer. Your 10,1 is too old to still be in the first year, and since you asked what it was, I'm sure you don't have it. Bottom line meaning is that whatever this problem turns out to be, you'll have to pay for it. Unless there is something like this. It is for 2011 iMacs with certain Seagate drives. You can put in your serial number for fun, but it looks like yours is too old. Lastly, some people have had Apple help them anyway if it is just out of warranty, but many have not. Your machine is one of these. Type in 10,1 in the search box. Is there an Apple Store near you? Just b/c it's out of warranty doesn't mean you shouldn't have it looked at by Apple. But no one here can say at all what Apple will or will not do.

I am having this same problem (Wifi drops, freeze the screen) and it looks I am not the only one! Unfortunately, I went to the Apple Store in San Francisco and eventhough the Genius guy told me that the problem is in the manufacture process, he could not exchange the phone, since one year ago Apple exchange my old Iphone 5 cause I was having battery issues. The only way to solve with Apple now is paying more than $250 for a refurbished Iphone. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Apple anymore!!!

the funny thing is that when i use firefox everything go OK but when i use IE :
- if i click submit with the mouse or press enter then everything is OK
- if i press enter the request will not be sent !!!!!! if i click enter with mouse goes OK...........
can some one tell me what is happening?????

AIM/Yahoo, ect How to receive messages when doing other things....

I downloaded the AIM and Yahoo Apps and even tried the new Palringo App, but all of them seem to disconnect when I leave the program and go back to the home screen and reconnect when I go back.
People say It doesnt seem to log me out, however I dont receive any notification of messages when I am doing other things, not like I would if I receive a text message,
Any way to fix this and get messages without going back to check in the program?

Apps cannot run in the background. AIM keeps you logged in for ~5 minutes after you exit the app, but you'd need to go back to the AIM app to get any IMs.
In your AOL settings (accessed through your browser) you can set it to send you an SMS when you get an IM.

IPhone 4 does strange things

one of my phones keeps doing strange things. First the bluetooth stops working (even when settings are on), then Find My iPhone then stops working. iPhone shuts down for no reason during usage, etc. the list can go on. I have rebooted, updated, etc. to no changes. Ideas????

Why do I get an error message while I am setting up iMessage that reads "could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." Funny thing is internet Safari works just fine.

Windows 8 - SC6 started doing weird things, not working correctly

Windows 8 and CS6 - Liquifying tool not working and and actions not working correctly, back ground screen flickers and changes color and does weird things. I have done a complete D&R and it does the same thing. Someone with the same problem suggested a D&R and deactivate, then reinstall and reactivate, could this possibly work? if so, how would you do that? Thanks

Yes, one I can think of. Get the make and model of your video card and head over to the card manufacturer's website.
Check for and install the latest drivers for your card.
Also see if changing the settings of your GPU helps. Uncheck everything (OpenCL Anti-alias 30 bit displays) and start at Basic. then work your way up to Normal and Advanced.
