Hi,
You need to contact HP Support and get a service technician to correct your problem.  It's hard for me to believe that HP would have replaced the optical drive without ensuring that it worked.
HP's support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

  • JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase

    Hi
I have a question, we enabled "One Phase Commit", even though we are getting "javax.transaction.xa.XAException: JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase commit. To force this participation, set the GlobalTransactionsProtocol attribute to LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit for the Data Source =nested exception is: javax.transaction.xa.XAException: JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase commit. To force this participation, set the GlobalTransactionsProtocol attribute to LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit for the Data Source". Why is that?
    Thanks
    Edited by: user7256072 on Apr 10, 2012 12:35 PM

Is there more than one resource participating in the transaction?
If this is the case, and the resources are for example a database and JMS, you can emulate XA
by using the logging last resource setting on a non-XA driver.
An example of the above is presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7716 (the section my first JavaEE6 application)
Here a stateless EJB is used that has an insertPerson method that uses a datasource and JMS in a transaction.

  • JDBC driver does not support XA,,hence cannot be a participant in two-phas

Error committing transaction:; nested exception is: javax.transaction.xa.XAException: JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase commit. To force this participation, set the GlobalTransactionsProtocol attribute to LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit for the Data Source = SOADataSource
i have enabled the LoggingLastResource option still it is not working showing the same error.
i have a doubt in this case my datasource is of type XA then is there any need to enable any of the above option(LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit).
please do reply it has hampered many of the tasks.

Open a support case. You can't even create an XA LLR datasource.

  • New Hard Drive Enclosure not being detected by Mac

Hi. I've been having problems with my external hard drive. I went out and bought a hard drive enclosure today at Best Buy for more storage on my eMac. After putting it together, I plugged it into my Windows 7 computer to test it out and it worked perfectly, but when I tried to plug it into my Mac computer nothing happened. I went to Disk Utility to check for the drive but nothing appeared. All the USB ports on my computer work great as I have used them all before, but I am unsure as to why it can't detect my drive. I then tried plugging the drive into the USB port in the keyboard and at least got a "USB Low Power Notice". (Better than nothing, right?) This is a relatively old mac computer (2003?) and the software has never been updated because its not connected to the internet and never has been. The USB hard drive enclosure uses USB 3.0 and the hard drive has been formatted to NTFS. Is there anything I can do to get it to work? I can access it and everything on my Windows computer, so why does it not even appear in Disk Utility or the USB Device Tree on my Mac? The manual says that it is compatible with both Mac and PC. Thanks in advance.

If your hard drive plugged into a Windows machine and worked, then it is probably formatted with FAT32 or ExFAT. For some reason, a lot of eMac's have trouble mounting disks formatted with such file systems. If possible, back up any data on the hard drive, format it to Mac OS Extended, and try it with the eMac again.
Also, it is trivial to try the ports with other devices that are known to work with the eMac, etc, etc.

  • Optical drive drivers not being detected while installing windows 7 via bootcamp

I'm trying to install Windows 7 using boot camp but I keep running into a dead end that I have no idea how to fix.  I have my boot camp partition, and then I load up my install dvd and using BC assistant I click the Start Installation.  The machine restarts, and I get as far as the screen with the blue backgroun and the tiny green plant,  that has "install now" prominantly in the center, and below and to the left two options for "What to know before installing windows" and "Repair your computer".  I click install now and it goes to the "Setup is starting..."  Then I got an error winow that says "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now." "Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."    And I have the option to browse, or rescan for drivers.  The problem is I can't find any drivers for my machines optical drive OR the boot camp support drivers. I have my Origianl OSX Install disc, but dont know where to look for the drivers since I now apparently have to install them manually.  Any advice on this would be super appreciated as I've been trying to get this working for like a week :\  Specs Below.
I'm running a 15 inch Macbook Pro 5,3 Mac OS X 10.6.  Intel Core 2 Duo 8gb ram boot rom version mbp53.00ac.b03, optical: matshita uj-868
If any other info would help solve my problem let me know and if reasonalbe I will provide. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner....Hurricane Irene knocked out all our power
The initial install (at least for most of the reboots) does correctly reboot to Windows. However, towards the end of the Windows setup, where Windows is fully functional but is configuring itself, you may accidentally boot into OS X. Once you get Apple's Boot Camp drivers installed, you can set the target disk for a reboot, so that you don't need to hold down alt/option. In addition, you can also set the target disk in Lion via System_Preferences>System>Startup_Disk.
Unfortunately, the excellent boot manager rEFIt doesn't work with Lion (because of the hidden partition that Lion adds). Maybe they'll get it working soon, then you can use it and not worry about holding down alt all the time.

  • CD-DVD drive does not play or read any cd or dvd

The CD-DVD drive in my Lenovo 3000 series was working fine until last week, I tried to install quickbooks and when I insert the cd in the drive it does nothing (does not show that a cd has been inserted) and would not play any other cd's with microsoft media player.
Can someone help. When I viewed it in the control panel it shows that the drive is working properly.
    What to do?
    Thank you.
    Leopardo22

    Thanks for the reply.
Are you sure that the Files work with the Mac?
Err... Typical example: CD recorded on a PC, with many .jpg files (photos) on board. Seems that there is no "File compatibilty" issue here. CD starts playing on the iMac, in Preview (Icon display mode). Soon, Icon display mode just stops. Seems that the drive is not able to "drill" into the material on the CD further than a certain ares. At this point, it is even difficult to eject the CD. iMac seems to lock up.
I would put the Movies in a mp4 file and the pictures in a jpeg.
    No movies on the CD
Why don't you use an external drive or Air drop to move files?
Should not need an external dribe to just play a CD containing photos, provided by another party. Simple operation , no?

Does it appear in Disk Utility?
Have you tried FINDER PREFERENCES>GENERAL and checked off the appropriate boxes?

  • Hp v235r flash drive not being detected on my computer

    Hi,
I am using hp v235r flash drive for more than 5 years. It's not being detected on my computer since two days. Can any one solve my problem, as there is lot of important data stored in it and hasn't been backed up recently.

    Hello budda48,
Its possible the driver for the pen drive is corrupted in your computer, or the drive has met its end of life.
First, confirm that the Pen Drive is seen by other computers. Plug it in to another computer that you havent tried yet.
If it is not working on other computers, then the usb drive is corrupted and there wont be anything else we can do.
If it is working in other computers, then try these steps to troubleshoot the Pen Drive.
Confirm that the port on the computer is not bad. Choose a different port to insert the drive. Next…
Part 1: Make sure that the drive has a drive letter assigned in Disk Management.
Open Computer Management by right clicking on Computer and clicking Manage.
Click on Disk Management. Give it a moment to open the view of the drives installed.
Look for a drive that does not have an assigned drive letter and is not labeled as System Reserved.
Note: System reserved drives are reserved by Windows and will not allow you to assign a letter.
Right-click the unlabeled drive and click Change drive letter and paths…
Click Add and then click OK to select the first available drive letter.
If the Change drive letter and paths… option is not available, make sure that the drive is Online.
If the drive is Offline, right-click the disk number and click Online.
Part 2: If the drive does have a letter assigned and it still does not work, uninstall the driver.
You can safely remove any usb drivers that are not in use (hidden drivers). Devices that get plugged in later will simply reinstall its needed driver again.
Remove the pen drive from the computer if it’s attached.
Right click Computer and click on Properties. In the System window on the left side, click on Advanced System Properties.
Choose the Advanced tab and click on Environment Variables… button at the bottom.
Under System Variables, click on the New… button
Type this in the box that pops up. Variable Name: devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices and also give the Variable Value: 1
Click OK on all the open windows to close them out.
Go to Computer Management again and click on Device Manager. Go to View at the top of the window and click on Show Hidden Devices.
Click on the drop down arrow for Universal Serial Bus Controllers to open the list. Look for any USB Mass Storage Device that is hidden (greyed out) and delete it. There may be several and it’s ok to delete all those hidden USB Mass Storage Devices.
When you connect the pen drive to the computer again, give it a minute to reinstall the driver.

    Go to Solution.

To solve the issue, open Device Manager on your computer to reinstall the driver for your device while your device is connected with your PC via a USB cable.
Microsoft Windows Vista and 7 users
To open Device manager on your computer
    Click on the Start button.
In the Search box, type device manager, and then press enter.
To reinstall the drivers for your device
Scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB section) of the Device Manager window.
Look for an MTP Device: Media Device, Unknown Device or any other reference to your phone. Click on this entry and choose "Uninstall" whilst leaving the device connected.
Wait a few minutes, and the computer will reinstall the drivers for the device.
Now, the phone is accessible via Computer/My Computer on your computer.

  • HT5628 After running bootcamp, DVD drive is detected by Windows 8. But after installing drivers, no longer can detect. Device Manager shows that DVD drive is unplugged! Drivers in Bootcamp "removed" the DVD drive!

After running bootcamp, DVD drive is detected by Windows 8. But after installing drivers, no longer can detect. Device Manager shows that DVD drive is unplugged! Drivers in Bootcamp “removed” the DVD drive. I think there is an issue because I reinstalled Windows 8. If I don't install driver, then I have reduced functionality (no Apple keyboard, no sound etc), but once I install driver, I lose my DVD drive.

Hi, guys, I have had the exact same problem since the summer of 2010. Here's what I was able to find out.
Deleting upper/lower filters, running all those Fix Ya programs and other Microsoft crap is useless. This problem is most certainly has nothing to do with registry of any software on your computer. I took my HP 9620us to a couple of repair places and, they tried a lot of things and it appears that the root of this problem is a faulty motherboard connection. Of course, it costs about 400 bucks to fix it so I'm not sure I want to pay this kind of money.
Anyway, if somebody was able to fix it PLEASE post here to let us know. Again I am 99 per cent sure it's some piece of hardware in the motherboard.

  • CD/ DVD Drive is not reading any discs! - HP Pavillion DV6747TX

Hi there, I have a problem. My CD/ DVD Drive is not reading any discs! I have no idea what's happened..it was going fine and then all of the sudden it stopped working.
The computer I have is a HP Pavillion DV6700 or DV6747TX to be exact and the CD/DVD-Rom drive is a TSSTcgrp CDDVDW TS%L632N ATA Device. It seems to be present in the Device Manager and in the Computer Menu. When I put a CD or DVD into the disc drive lights are blinking and it sounds like it's trying to load or do something, but nothing is coming up. CD Drive E still says CD Drive E instead of reading the disc that's in there and when I click on Drive E it says Windows cannot read the disc in drive E.
I have tried searching the net for answers including the suggestions on this website and have tried a few other ideas I have come across but nothing seems to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is usually  a known software conflict and happens across the board will all computer manufacturers due to a issue with multiple media burning/ripping applications being installed on your system.
You can either run this file, go online to Microsoft's site for a fix, or manually fix it by following the instructions below:
    Manually delete the registry entries
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
322756  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Note Before you use this method, uninstall all CD or DVD writing or recording programs. Deleting the corrupted registry entries might cause problems with any other CD or DVD writing or recording programs that are installed on your computer. Uninstalling these programs before you start will help you avoid any problems that removing the registry entries might cause. You can reinstall these programs after the problem is resolved.
This method provides step-by-step instructions for how to use Registry Editor to delete the following corrupted Registry entries:
    UpperFilters
    LowerFilters
Step 1: Start Registry EditorStart Registry Editor
Start Registry Editor...type "regedit" into the run box on the start menu.
Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry
In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.
Expand Control, and then expand Class.
    Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
In the details pane of Registry Editor, on the right side, click UpperFilters.
Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only.
If you see the UpperFilters registry entry in the details pane of Registry Editor, go to step 6.
If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to "Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry."
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
Click Yes when you receive the following message:Are you sure you want to delete this value?
Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry
In the details pane of Registry Editor, on the right side, click LowerFilters.
Note You might see a LowerFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click LowerFilters only.
If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content is unable to help you any more. Go to the "Next Steps" section for information about how you can find more solutions or more help on the Microsoft Web site.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
Click Yes when you receive the following message:Are you sure you want to delete this value? The LowerFilters registry entry is removed.
    Exit Registry Editor.
    Step 4: Restart your computer
Restart your computer. After you have done this, try to access the CD or DVD drive. If you can access the CD or DVD drive, and if you do not receive an error message, the problem is resolved. You can reinstall your CD or DVD writing or recording software.

  • CD/DVD drive does not appear in Windows 8

My CD/DVD drive no longer appears in Windows Explorer in Windows 8.1 on my HP Pavillion Slimline 400-034 Desktop PC. The drive spins upon boot. I've tried the Microsoft Window 8 troubleshooting with no luck. I'd like to try the HP troubleshooting which requires BIOS access upon boot, but pressing F10 during boot does not get me to the BIOS but instead loads Windows normally. Any suggestions to at least help me get to the BIOS?

  • Satellite P25-S520 - DVD drive is not working properly

Fix DVD Drive or buy external drive
My DVD drive is not working properly, in fact it may never have been working proper. Recently I tried to back up my PC to a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize the DVD was present. I then tried writing a text file to a DVD and was unsuccessful. Both DVD+R and DVD-R media were tried (Maxwell 16X).
I could have probably lived with this however, I got a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my neighbors laptop and it was recognized.
An attempt at updating the driver was also unsuccessful.
I was able to rip a music CD last night so that at least is working correctly.
Does anybody know how I can fix this? The important part is being able to load my new program.
Searching some forums I've found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive cannot be fixed I am not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately where I live there are no brick-and-mortar stores which sell external drives and I would prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can anyone suggest an external USB drive which will read and write CDs and DVDs and which is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?
    Thank you for any help,

Any external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.
However you wont be able to boot of CD's (Run Recovery for example) if you use an external drive.
So your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and ask for a quotation.
