Yes after I had the ideas, wrote a survey and created the Skype Room group, I discovered the Forum thread about Skype Ideas and had the same thought. they are already doing this. So, I guess the benefit of mine is to raise awareness of this Skype Idea Community Board.
In my Skype Room guidelines, there is a link to the Survey which has links to all the Skype Ideas Boards for all the Skype clients, (Win7,8 iOS, Mac)... well Mac didnt have one, but I linked to the Mac blog & community.
I completely agree and love the explanation of the process to elevate the most Kudo'd (voted for/ popular) idea requests for implimentation. Very Impressive. People don't relaize that Skype/MS is listening... as you said ... to the clear focused voice of the most voted for and commented on Ideas for Skype changes. So Pleae dont dilute the votes for the same request! I will repeat the good info I found and link to it again....

Where do I find the apps that I've PAID for? I only want to find the apps that I have purchased.

When I click on the app tab in itunes it shows them all and I do not know how to distinguish the apps I have paid for from the free ones..

You can find your Purchase History under your iTunes account information. Sign on to iTunes, click on your iTunes ID, and then click on View Account. Once you have your account information screen showing, you can select to see "All" of your purchased history:

Why would you want to always BCC yourself?

I know this is an arbitrary question, but I was just writing an iPhone tutorial and I saw the option, "Always BCC Myself". Apple thought it so important as to give the feature its own slider in the menu, so I wondered "who are these people who want to always BCC themselves, and why?". I find this very curious, as BCC'ing yourself is a lot like just merging your inbox and sent folder. Why would anyone want to do this.. what practical purpose does it serve.. does anyone out there know?

Some people only have POP3 email accounts. With a POP3 account, if you are using the iPhone as well as a computer email client, you may want to keep some record of messages you have sent all in one location, perhaps the computer email client. However, if you reply to someone using the iPhone, you would not have that record on the computer email client. BCC yourself provides you a copy you can pick up on the computer email client and then move to the Sent folder for a record. While this is not necessary for IMAP or Exchange, not everyone has that luxury.

PPI/DPI setting... why do you want it?

I occasionally see requests for a PPI/DPI setting in Aperture and I just noticed a request for the same in the discussion about Adobe's Lightroom. I've posted comments about why a PPI/DPI setting is not needed, so I'm curious to see if maybe I'm missing something and I'd like to hear some feedback on the subject to help educate myself and others along the way. If my examples aren't exactly clear and seem confusing, perhaps someone else can explain what I'm saying in a much more elegant and easier understood way.
Here's a copy of my original post about the subject. I've added a few other examples for further clarification on pixel dimensions in relationship to output.
"An output ppi/dpi setting is not necessary and not relevant and here's why...
Remember, were talking about pixels here, not inches. Pixel dimensions are all that matter when it comes to sizes in digital photography.
So when you export an file from Aperture and want something different from the built-in presets, choose "Edit" from the "Export Preset" pop-up in the Export dialog box. You can then add your own settings based upon the output pixel dimensions you would like to have.
For instance, if you need an 8 x 10 inch image, then take whatever ppi/dpi you would like and times it by those dimensions. A common standard for the web is 72ppi, so your pixel dimensions for an 8 x 10 inch image will be 576 pixels x 720 pixels. A common standard for printing is 300dpi, so then an 8 x 10 inch image will need to be 2400 pixels x 3000 pixels.
Hence, say you have a 2400 pixel x 3000 pixel file, it would equal...
- 8 x 10 inches @ 300 ppi
- 33.333 x 41.667 inches @ 72ppi
- 4 x 5 inches @ 600ppi
- 10 x 12.5 inches @ 240ppi
- 2400 x 3000 inches @ 1ppi
All the above listed dimensions will give you the exact same perfect 8 x 10 inch print from a 300dpi printer. In fact, whatever the dpi of the printer, each of the above listed dimensions will print the same size on the same printer.
Say you gave your favorite printer a file that another image editing application (Photoshop perhaps) says is 33.333 x 41.667 inches @ 72dpi or any of the other combinations I listed above. Well most printers are set to print at 300dpi, so it would output perfectly as an 8 x 10 inch print. If the printer was set to print at 360dpi, then you would have a perfect 6.667 x 8.333 inch print.
Again, if you need an 8 x 10 inch print and the printer prints at 300dpi, then you need a 2400 x 3000 pixel file, if you need a 16 x 20 inch print, and the printer prints at 300dpi, then you need a 4800 x 6000 pixel file. If the printer prints a 240dpi, then an 8 x 10 inch print would need to be 1920 pixels x 2400 pixels and a 16 x 20 inch print would need to be 3840 pixels x 4800 pixels.
So, you see, it doesn't matter what you ppi/dpi is, it can be anything you want it to be. The only thing you need to know is what you want your pixel dimensions to be and choose those based upon what your output device is."

Telling my clients that their requests for files at
300ppi are unreasonable is unreasonable. It is not
befitting of a "professional" program to ask us
constantly to do workarounds for such commonly
expected capabilities. But it is, like so many
other "we know best" features, the Aperture way.

I completely understand your point and I really do believe that it would be very simple to add a function like this to both Aperture and Lightroom. It's not like such a common setting is a complete mystery to software developers or anyone associated with the commercial arts industry. So, in light of the fact that Adobe, the king of the commercial art software industry leaves a simple common function such as this out of their application also, one has to ask, why?
I really don't believe for one second that Apple just dropped the ball and didn't include this function just because some believe they rushed a product to market. That just doesn't make any sense. How could you not include what is considered to be such an important function by so many out of an application. Nope, I don't buy it, I truly believe it's not include it on purpose.
So again, I ask why?
I keep having to rethink about what is just "photographic". Remove myself from the business of running my studio. Forget about what a photographer needs in order to run their business, I myself use Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator, GoLive, Quark, QuickBooks, many times a week if not everyday. I need all these things and much more in order to conduct business, but business isn't "photographic". Business is business.
Photoshop is an absolutely wonderful application, but it doesn't do "photography" very well. This is where both Aperture and Lightroom come in. They both ask, what is "photographic" and then only do that.
And again, I keep coming back to the fact that the ability to control DPI/PPI settings is a pre-press function only, it's not a photographic function, never has been and never will be. It maybe a common function that a photography studio may need, but it has absolutely nothing to do with photography. It's strictly pre-press.
With both these new products that Apple and Adobe have offered the photographer, I think they're really trying to drive home the point that they want us "Photographers" to really re-think how we've done things in the digital realm all these past years. They want to help us be "Photographers" not just businesspersons that need to run a multi-function commercial art business.

Photoshop Elements 12. Paid for full version...only allowed a 1 year trail??

Last summer i purchased PSE 12 off the Groupon website. It said nothing of a trial version. I tried to logon PSE 12 tonight and now adobe is wanting me to pay $100 more to use the program. I have a friend with PSE and he has never had to repay to use his program. Is this issue common? What should i do?

There is no one-year anything with PSE. Even Revel is a monthly subscription and then only if you want to exceed the free 2GB storage.
First of all, what do you mean by "log on"? In PSE 12, to log on is to activate PSE and if you log out you deactivate it and need to reenter your serial number? Is that wha you mean? Just type in your serial number when asked and don't log out again. (Revel is a separate log in and you can log out of that all the time if you like.)

Yes, I know it's a minor nit-pick, but I'm already tired of seeing the "Softwarename Trial" splash page when I open my CC apps. I realize that it needs to verify my subscription, but couldn't there be a slightly different verification page for paid subscribers? One where the default response button would be to sign in with your Adobe ID, rather than the "Continue Trial" (not applicable) or "License This Software" (already done) buttons.

How frequently are you having to go through the "Softwarename Trial" splash page and complete the "License This Software" process again?
A few more questions I was curious about:
- Are you on a Windows or Mac computer? which version?
- Is the behavior happening in all products?

As far as I know, Photostream only works with pictures. And, since these are user to user forums, you'd need to contact the same place (their customer service or support) where you paid (did you pay through the iTunes store? Then contact iTunes support). You should read about iCloud and its capabilities before making decisions:

I uploaded Firefox 5.0 last night and it apparently cannot accommodate my McAfee SiteAdvisor software, which I paid for and which I want back even if it means unloading the 5.0 version of Firefox. Help.

Below is the only URL I can find. The McAfee SiteAdvisor I have/had is Version 3.3.131. As I said above, I want it back, without having to pay for it again. I would never have upgraded my Firefox if I'd known it would knock out the McAfee SiteAdvisor. Can I just revert to my former Firefox version? I was perfectly happy with it.

The McAfee Site Advisor 3.3.1 extension was the number 2 cause of crashes in one of the Firefox 5.0 betas and Mozilla Blocklisted it. That extension is disabled in Firefox 5, Firefox 6.0beta, and Firefox 7.0alpha versions. McAfee is working on a new re-written version of the Site Advisor extension to fix their problems - ETA is mid to end of July.

Did you not get what you paid for and think you got jipped?

Yesterday, July 25,2013 I bought 4 songs from iTunes,and I received an error code saying the purchase could not be made and to try again latter. I went and checked my bank account and saw that the purchase had been made. I get on iTunes again today and it says that I did not buy those songs,so I bought them again and they downloaded this time. The 4 songs costed $4.92 and I bought them a second time for $4.92. I spent $9.84 (my math was off when I emailed them I told them $9.92). Now I have to wait until they email me back and so on. Has something similar happened to any of you? BTW this isn't the first time this happened to me.

I got those emails and they said I have to wait 48 hours. I know I have to be patient. I just posted this to see ancd find out if this has happened to anyone else. I had incomplete tracks too and I solved it. I just deleted the song from my library and redownloaded it or a different version. Until my problem is solved I think I won't use iTunes store for a while.

And I believe when I said this for the Z10 community.. We need 10.1 update to address these glitches :
- Charger is not recognize by the phone with "ACK" blue color on it at the end of the notification.
- Messages read but still showed as unread in the hub
- Twitter keep loading up even after you delete it
- Constant Reboot by the device or when the best scenario happen, reboot randomly
Question : Why have not the 10.1 update been pushed yet? Let me guess the answer by the customer service or tech support : " It still on the development or testing" or " We do not have time period when the update will be pushed " . Ok but you guys been testing around the GS 4 and probably.. probably as the rumor I heard that you guys behind the schedule/timeline for the phone launch.. Is it because "Green Robot" and "Grey Fruit" more profitable to you guys then you guys decided to abandon other customer that did not support those 2 platform??

Verizon takes its own good time with updates. Why? Because they are the biggest cell provider and can get away with delays due to the shear number of customers. The other cell companies are not as huge as Verizon and besides like was said above there may not be that many people that bought a Blackberry Z10 could be a load of reasons. unless you call and complain how would anyone know?
