Where are you looking for Siri voice selection? It should be in Settings/General/Siri. You must also choose a language that has a choice of voices. US English and Canadian English do, UK and Australian do not.
What do you see in Settings/Wallpapers & Brightness? You need to tap one of the 2 images to see the selections available.
As I said, it is impossible that the installation is incomplete; you just aren't finding the new features. If you want to reinstall anyway, upgrade iTunes on your computer to 11.1, then connect the phone using a USB cable directly to the computer (not a hub), click on the iPhone's name in iTunes, then click the Restore iPhone button.

I thought I would voice my opinion as well.
I have an iPhone 3G and whilst I would like to say that it is excellent and that I enjoy using it the reality is that in its current state (2.02 software) it is unusable. I really had to hold my tongue there - I feel really mad at present and feel that apple should try to release software that has been through at least one decent test cycle.
I am on my second phone - the first being returned at the suggestion of apple care who suggested it may be a hardware fault - there was no fault with the hardware - again software issues but I exchanged it to cover both bases.
I have never found that the backup to work and simply do a full restore - which at present I perform on a daily basis as the phone locks at the apple screen on a daily basis and it then takes over 5 hours to restore - it is unusable.
I suspect the underlying issue in my case relates to the volume of applications that I load onto the device - but hey it should be fit for purpose!
What I am looking for here is honest recongnition and report of the issues and problems with the device from apple - and releases that give a clearer indication of their intended purpose i.e. a little more detail than "Bug Fix". Is that too much to ask?

The iPad update will in no way affect your 3G, no matter what iOS version you have on the 3G.

Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud. If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now). Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier.

IOS Update did not solve syncing issue

I'm still having problems with my playlists and art cover on my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4. On my iPad I can't see most of the artwork, but all playlists sync just fine. On my iPhone, artwork syncs just fine, but I can't find iTunes playlists (Top 25, Recently added, etc.). I'm running itunes 10.6.3 on my Mac, iOS 5.1.1 on iPad and iPhone.

Dear Old Bob..I enjoyed that! I and thanks so much ...I would have done it if I could have done it but I was blocked by Photoshop at every stage! Thankfully my own IT Guru and friend came to the rescue remotely last night and has down-loaded it. But it took him quite a bit of time.
As XP is faded out, there will be an awful lot of people like me complaining.
But truth is my problems are only at a start! About 30 prints (some not yet on my 'blog' (juliamatcham.wordpress.com) all have varying settings which I have noted. Everything depends on these settings.
All are Apple RGB (although my computer is a PC) and they were all set for my printer Epson Photo 1800. Also they were set at varying settings...Standard or Vivid 1.5, 2.5 whatever suited the design.
These settings appear not to exist on CS2 which is a nightmare for me as each print was carefully proofed with a great deal patience and at some expense as in the end one has to use expensive paper even for proofing.
If you have any hints for how to translate these old settings...I would kiss your feet!
Just looking through how things work, I can't understand why I can't change my first printing option to landscape ...everything esle so far seems comprehensible.
I do hate change!

HT201320 This last week, I updated my iPhone with iOS6 and now my Yahoo Mail no longer works. I've deleted and restored the account without fixing the problem. The iOS update did not effect my iPad. Anyone have a suggestion?

This last week (of 17 Sep 12) I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and now my Yahoo mail does not work. I keep getting a "Yahoo server busy" message. This problem has not effected the update to my iPad 3 - it works fine. In addition, I have deleted and added my Yahoo mail - same result. Same here, albeit with a 3G and both a work Exchange account and personal Gmail are out of action. Reentered my password on the Gmail to no avail.
Unfortunately it seems that increased success has come too fast to Apple, it's starting to display Microsoft-like behaviors, e.g., releasing stuff and letting the customers serve as the beta / guinea pigs.

I updated to 1.1.3 - Why can't I use any of the new features?

Hey, I just got my ipod touch 8 gig. It came with 1.1.2 on it so I updated. Now when I go to settings and about, it says it's 1.1.3 as well... However I cant add clips to my home screen (when I press + all I see is add bookmark), and I also can't re arrange my icons.... Do I need to do something to enable these features? What the **** is wrong with my ipod, it seems to still be on 1.1.2 and just think it's on 1.1.3

To add webapps to your homesceen, to add lyrics to your ipod, to make the apps on the homescreen jiggle around . You MUST buy the $20 upgrade. All the firmware update of 1.1.3 added was the ability for your ipod to watch rented movies from itunes and thats ONLY if you update your itunes to 7.6. So to get anything you wish you must get the $20 upgrade.

IPhone iOS 6.0.1 update did not make changes to map and camera

I recently completed the iOS 6.0.1 update to my iPhone 4. After comparing my updated phone with my cousin's, I noticed a number of differences. First, his update gave him the option to shoot wide angle photos. Second, his map now has a voice function that speaks the directions. We both have the same phone, same provider. Mine indicates that software is up-to-date. Not only do I not have these new features, but the map itself is notably worse than what it was with the previous software: it does not automatically advance as you drive. Does anyone know what might have happened here? Thanks in advance.

Neither of the features you mention are available on the iPhone 4.
Just because the device is running iOS6 does not mean it gets all the features.

TS1538 Ios 5.1.1 update did not work

The update did not work. I downloaded the udpate last night, through ITunes and did the update this afternoon.
The phone hung during the update, and now only shows the connect to itunes on the screen. Itunes does not see the phone.
When I look in the device manager, I see the drives listed in the Other Devices, and there are two of them listed as "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode) Tried to update them, but the dirives are no longer on my pc, where Apple said that they should be.
I am clueless now.

Then you should try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. This should replace the drivers. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library, data or your iPhone backup.
