My Ipd Nano 6th generation isn't recognized by my computer or iTunes. I've followed all the troubleshooters and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes numerous times. I've checked for legacy software under device manager but I keep getting error 10.

My Ipod Nano 6th generation is no longer recognized by iTunes & my computer. I did all troubleshooting steps. After checking for changes and reinstalling legacy software in device manager I keep getting an error 10 message (device can't start). My device is charging when I plug it in and is otherwise still functioning normally. Can anyone help me please?

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

My ipod nano 6th generation isn't recognized

My Nano 6th generation will turn on fine, and will play music when the ear buds are plugged it. It also will charge when connected to either my computer, my car dock or an ihome dock. However, it will not be recognized by any of those medias when plugged it. I-tunes will not sync or recognize my ipod when puggled in, when it is plugged into my car port it says "no line in" and when in the i-home it just won't play.
I have tried reseting it with no lock, have tried to it in disk mode, but have been unsuccessful.
The support person I spoke suggested that I restore the ipod software thru itunes, but I can't even try that because my itunes/computer isn't detected my ipod when it is plugged in.
I have also tried "shoving it in real good" as the support tech suggested. No luck.
Any ideas?

What displays on the iPods screen when you have it connected? I assume you have tried another known working USB cable?
Is iTunes up do date on your PC (currently at 10.7)?

Click on iTunes and do comand Q. Be sure you are quitting iTunes to finish update and not just closing the screen.

I Tried for three days to download iOS 6 and kept getting error 1403. I finally went to the apple store and they couldn't figure it out either.
I finally got it to download and all I did different from the other 100 times was I went into settings and on the Bluetooth setting I put NO. Not sure if that's what did it but that was the only thing different that I did.

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
You could just update or uninstall the security software on your computer and then test again.

You can use both dsquery server –hasfsmo schema and dsquery server -forest –hasfsmo schema
The problem is, I believe, a hidden character in the command on this webpage which follows the Paste function and results in the error Unknown Parameter error.

iDVD do not copy Your material - only points to where it is stored. So if on any external hard disks, USB-memories, CDs or DVDs are missing - assetts are broken.
Or if You changed location of any material or directed iPhoto or iTunes or GarageBand to a new Library - Then iMovie/iDVD also get's lost.

my iphone 4 isn't recognized by my computer or itunes. when plugged in, nothing pops up. my phone does not begin charging or ask me anything. i know the plug is fine because it works in my wall and my computer makes a noise recognizing that something was plugged in.
i found an apple support link and followed every instruction (twice) to install and do all those things to my apple device manager. nothing has changed. i just want to sync with itunes! someone please help.

I do have AppleMobileDeviceService.exe running.
My USBs are plugging in straight into the laptop. All 4 work. Just today, I synced my iPod with multiple USB ports. It works for the iPod, but the iPhone won't pop-up. The iPhone does not appear in iTunes as a button anywhere.
I am unable to use another computer for this. I can actually go into iTunes, add file to library, and add photos that way. So, it's recognized by my computer.
This should have been seperated. Basically, I don't have another computer accessible to me to back-up sync on iTunes with.
The last part means in iTunes, I can click "File > Add file to library" and the iPhone is shown as a camera icon. I can click on it and have access to photos. I can add those photos to the iTunes library. That's about as far as the connectivity goes with the iPhone right now.
