I have purchased items on the phone I don't want to erase them from the phone. The phone backs up fine, but won't sync.
File>Devices>Transfer Purchases from "iPhone" and then sync.

Great question, it's important to have an idea when you can get the phone. Currently, the launch date annouced is September 19th, 2014. The stores will receive phones on that day as released and they will sell on the same bases, first come first serve.

My iphone 4s wont sync when I connect it to the pc( not apple). It is connected as it comes up on itunes but when I try to sync it with apps/ music etc it wont. I am doing something wrong or is it a mistake with the phone. I am still able to download apps and music from itunes on my phone though.
I already restored it but that didn't help.

If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?
Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

I have only 2 choices for contact groups on the iPhone 5, hotmail and iCloud. If I click both then I have all my hotmail contacts which I don't want. However if I only click iCloud, any new contacts I add don't show up
Only contacts added to the iCloud group will sync with iCloud. To make this your default, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Contacts section and tap Default Account. Here, choose iCloud as your default. After doing so, new contacts will be added to iCloud and sync with your iCloud account.

This issue appears where there are any inconsistencies in your catalog (generally for video files). This issue may be due to offline files, missing files, video scenes. How do I get my library from my phone to my new computer? I no longer have access to the old computer and when I try to sync my music, it says it will erase everything on my phone. My itunes library is not showing up when I sign into the new computer. Its not even showing any downloads.
The iphone is not a backup/storage device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which you sync.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Transfer Purchases.
