My iphone was stolen about an hour ago. i have the find iphone software on my phone but not at my disposal right now, can i locate it somehow?

To amplify what Tim said - having the Find My iPhone app on your device is not going to activate the service. That's an app that's just used to connect to the iCloud server and lets you locate the device, if it's "on the grid" as they say, and the sim hasn't been removed. But you just turn on the Find My iPhone service by going into settings. You don't even have to have the app on your iPhone to make the service work.

If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. My iPhone was stolen a few days ago. It appears to be offline on the Find My iPhone app. If the person who has it turns it on only for a brief moment and then turns it off immediately, will the location still be found? Once it returns to being offline will the location still be sent to me? And also, how can I retrieve my pictures from my iCloud?

Hello, someone stole my sons IPhone today in his gym class. I have the "find my iphone app" on my phone BUT he is not a listed device. I went into his itunes account and downloaded the "find my iphone app" app under his account. When I try to log into "find my iphone" under his name on my device I get an error msg involving icloud......he is MUCH better at this stuff then I am BUT he is in school and now I need to figure out how to use the "find my iphone app". PLEASE HELP
It doesn't matter whick account you use to download the app.
You have to sign into the app (or iCloud.com from a web browser on your computer) with his Apple ID & password.
Find My iPhone will only work if it was enabled in the iCloud settings on the device and it was powered on with a connection to the internet -

Remove the iPhone from the list of devices in the car. Remove the car from the list of devices in the iPhone. Turn Bluetooth off on the phone and reset the phone. hodl the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and release. The phone will reboot. Turn the car on and put the radio into discovery/pairing mode. Turn Bluetooth on for the iPhone which puts it into discovery/pairing mode. The two should see each other.

The only way to track or take additional actions is if Find my iPod was enabled. Go to http://icloud.com, click Find my iPhone; if it doesn't list your iPod then it wasn't enabled.

No one can turn on Find My iPhone remotely, including Apple. Apple also has no way of detecting where your phone is without Find My iPhone enabled.
Theoritically your carrier could get a general location if your service was turned on using their cell towers, but it's unlikely that the locaion accuracy using cell towers would be accurate enough to help you find it anyway. Carriers generally don't get involved unless ordered to do so by the police or the courts. -
Hi there, I have the same problem as I've read on some of the questions posted although the answers hasn't been much help to me with regards to the big exclamation mark on iphotos when I try to open my photos. For some reason my photo files was stored in my document folder and you can imagine how that must have looked, very unorganized. When I tried to move the photos from there to another file that is just for my photos. Now I can't open them in iphotos and although I tried to undo my mistake it still doesn't want to work.. is there any way I can find all the images on my computer and fix my problem by storing them somewhere else without damaging the files?
Please help me find all my photos as I would be shattered if I were to loose any...

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
