I have an iphone 4 that I upgraded to ios5 and switched my user name to an @me.com user name. Now my phone doesn't let me update my apps, it says that my pass is incorrect, I've tried to reset my password and it's not going to my email, and the security question says that is incorrect! plz help

Stop trying to put the same password in as the mobile me account and go into the Apps section of your library in itunes and right click an application, select get info and see what the email address is where it says account.
Your apple id for the itunes store is likely a different address like a gmail or a hotmail.
Look up the apple id by going to the find out link that is on this webpage: http://appleid.apple.com

Yes you can contact Apple UK at daytime, for free, in the Chat.
Just go to the iPad page, then press buy now in the upper right corner, and then in the upper right corner you will see the phone number, and next to it,(only at daytime) you will see a button, writing something like contact else, I don't really know what is the exact label, but it works.

The Facebook app on my iPad will not let me access my account. I was recently married so my Facebook name changed and I updated my password. Now when I go into Facebook under settings and try to access my account it is still using the old name.

I got married, changed my Facebook name and gave my account a new password. Now, under settings and Facebook they have my ITunes/Apple ID and under it says "please sign in using (my old Facebook name) and under that is password. Only that old Facebook name has changed but did not update on my iPad settings. Also it will not accept my new password. I cannot erase it. If Apple doesnt want us to use more than one account, what do we do in this situation? Or if our Facebook gets hacked and becomes compromised? This is not okay. I have to be able to access this and because it will accept only one and will not update changes I cannot longer access my account. I buy a lot of Apple products. I won't buy another if it's not corrected. This is horribly frustrating. Not to mention waiting on youtube videos to load is almost as bad as waiting on dial-up. But that's another matter. Is there a way around this or do I need to start looking for products somewhere else? Anyone know? Thanks.

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.

My old iPad icloud account has an old account name that I no longer subscribe to and will not let me access it. I need to in order to transfer my info to my new iPad. It won't let me change the account name to access the icloud.

I am updating my iPad from first generation to fifth. I can access my app store info with no problem, but I cannot access iCloud. It has an account name that is greyed out and it's an account name of a service we no longer subscribe to. I keep getting a window that says user name or password is wrong, but it only gives me an option to enter a password that doesn't match up with that old account name. To change the iCloud ID on your iOS devices, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. To avoid losing photo stream photos, save these to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

On your iPad tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Or on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should also be a payment link.

I am trying to download a free app and it says I have to have an account, however, everytime I try to set up a new account I can fill only fill out some of the information but then the screen goes black and I cannot proceed with the account. At one point it said "no sim card" and I am not sure where one would go if I had one. Do you need a sim card to download free apps? Why won't it let me set up an Apple Account? Any suggestions?

I can think of no reason at all why you need a sim card to creat an Apple ID. Try this first - reboot the iPad and reset the memory.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Afte the iPad starts up again, follow the directions in this support article - exactly - to creat the account without a credit card.

IF ... You are signed into another Apple ID on the iPad you will have to sign out of that ID in order to create a new one. Settings>Store - you can sign out there.
You MUST try to download a free app in order to start the process off correctly. If you were using an email address with another ID that you already created, you will have to have another email address to associate the new ID with.

Ok, I have changed the names of my iPads to each be different- but no matter what I do, the Apple ID comes up the old email address on the old iPad and will not let me update Apps, purchase , etc,

I have used your info to give my two iPads different names. My problem is that my old iPad still has the old email in the Apple ID pop up so it will not let me sign in. I checked my info in the manage my account page and there is my email as primary, which allows me to sign in for apps, etc on the newiPad air, but when I try to update or buy an App on the old iPad, the old email is in the pop up and will not let me sign in.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you created a new account or updated your existing account ? All content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, so if you have created a new account then all of your existing downloads will remain tied to your old account.
If you've updated your existing account then try tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and log out of it and then log back in with the updated id so as to 'refresh' the account on it.

Totally false. It will still function as it has. You may not be able to download newer more resource demanding Apps , but anything you currently have on it will still run on it.
Just because you can't update anymore, doesn't mean the iPad will cease to function.
It will run as it has without the updates but again your App choices will likely become more and more limited. but that's it. You should still be able to view websites, check your email etc... just fine.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.
