My battery is not charging
Confirm the correct wattage AC adapter for the computer. A power adapter rated for a lower wattage than is required for the system may not reliably charge the computer. Macbook Pro Retina not charging, please help!
I recently plugged in my charger, and the green light did not come on. I then clicked on the battery at the top of the screen and it says that it is plugged in but not charging but that the power source is the power adapter. Right now my computer is stuck at 14% when plugged in. Please help!

If anyone could help that would be amazing!!I've noticed the same thing on my 13" rMBP. Plug in the MagSafe 2, and sometimes the light comes on instantly. Sometimes there is a 20 second delay before the charging indicator kicks in. And occasionally, the light has turned off hours after it has been on for awhile.
Anyone else seeing this issue? If it is widespread, it could just be a firmware update to fix. -

What do you mean by "power surge alert"? What exactly does it say when you try to connect it? If you're talking about the message about a USB device drawing too much power, that can sometimes be caused by a bad cable or something stuck in the port. Do you have another cable you can try?

If two different Apple supplied chargers have failed, it sounds like there's a problem with the port. It's probably a good idea to have an Authorized Apple Service Provider have a look.

need to submit my project by next week.Since the external display works without issue, it's more likely to be a problem with the internal display or possibly its cables and connections and not a graphics chip problem.
The LVDS cable is what carries video data, so you want to have a good look at it, checking both for physical damage and to see that it is well seated. Do the same with the inverter cable.
You can probably find a replacement LVDS cable:

It seems to be sold out at the moment, but it may be available from a different source or later on from ifixit. The cable is much less expensive than the display, and may be worth a try.

MacBook pro battery not charging anymore, Replace Now, Unibody 2011
Hi everyone
I have a MacBook pro unibody from 2011 (usually used on power but sometimes dischared) and suddenly my battery is indicating "not charging" (is constantly to 0%) and I have the following diagnostic (in the about my mac).
If I remove the plug, the Macbook shutdowns immediately, I cannot connect it to any wifi network, and the date & clock are reset if I unplug it.
I tried the SMC reset and event the reset the NVRAM (PRAM on intels) (I am not sure about the SMC reset as there is no evident signs it has worked...).
My battery only has 120 charge cycles... and my warranty is of course finished. I have read on some forums that I maybe have to "unplug the battery" manually ? And changing the so few used battery seem to be too expensive...
Does anybody has an idea ?

That is not necessarily the case. I had a battery replaced free of charge well after one year of use. My MacBook Pro will not open any app or program that requires Internet, even though I am connected to the web. I recently installed Norton AntiVirus and think it may have changed a setting that I couldn't find. I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help. Every time I open Safari, iTunes or any other program that tries to connect to the Internet, it crashes. Strangely enough, Skype still works, but nothing else.
I have OSx 10.6.8.
I have tried erasing plists, and all the standard troubleshooting, ie resetting modem, restarting computer, reloading Safari from disk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.

Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.

I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help.
To properly uninstall Norton software follow these instructions - Locate Symantic Solutions folder inside the Applications folder at the root level of your HD, launch the Symantec Uninstaller application, select the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate, Norton AntiVirus & Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect entries and click the Uninstall button.
Confirm your decision when prompted and then enter your administrator password in the space provided.
Retart your computer & Norton should be gone for good.
If the above does not work, download a copy of Symantec’s RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility. This utility will launch Terminal & remove the Norton components. -
