My MBP won't turn on. The charger light goes green but then dims out before it goes out again
My MBP suddenly stopped working when I came back to it. I tried charging it with a couple of different chargers and different sockets. The charger light turns green but then slowly dims down before it turns off.
I tried all key combinations for starting up - holding the power key for long, Cmd+Opt+P+R with power button, Cmd+R with power button, but none of them work. The laptop won't turn on.
What could be wrong?
If you are still under warranty call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

the charger is showing green but the laptop will not turn on. The stand-by light is flashing and the laptop is making a bleeping sound. Any suggestions?
Could be bad ram or logic board. Take it to an Apple store or AASP.

I was using my MacBook Pro Mid-2010 and then the screen went blank, I did a hard restart and went to restart again and it won't startup. The white light comes on and then the computer kinda "clicks" off!

My 13.3" macbook pro will not power up.The battery indicator light does not come on.The Mag safe charging light flickers green and red dimly.I had a cell phone connected to the USB port.
This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
1. Take off bottom case
2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did) -
TS1559 i have done all of the above wifi worked briefly but is greyed out again what can i do
i have followed apples instructions to solve the problem the wifi worked briefly but is greyed out again can anybody help have done ios7 update
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

My charger light is green but my computer isn't charging
I am absolutely freaking out. My charger is plugged in, and the light is green, but my computer remains at 35%, it's not dying, but it's not charging. I have done MANY trouble shooting excersises, I've done the SMC thing, and that didn't work either. I've tried plugging it into many different sockets but obviously (since i'm asking) that hasnt worked either. As you can tell from the imformation below, its not fully charged, but it's also not charging. I dont know if this information helps but I've had my computer since October 2013, it's now April 2014, so thats 6 months I've had my computer. Also, usually as soon as i relaize it has reached 100% i take my charger out, though sometimes if my computer is dead and I'm leaving the house, i leave it sleeping but charging until i get back home, also i don't frequetly shut it down, i simply leave it on sleep. ADDITINALLY I don't live in a country that has ANY Apple stores or specialist.. so sadly going to see a professional is out of the question, unless of course i can speak with them on the phone? PLEASE help me PLEASE

While waiting for your friend, you could take a look at your charger to see whether it was made by Apple or not. Is there an Apple logo in relief on two of its sides? Does one of the other sides have text that states “numberW MagSafe Power Adapter”, where number is either 60 or 85, and below it “Designed by Apple in California”, and at the bottom of the text there, a trademark and copyright claimed by Apple Inc.? -
MBP won't turn on or charge, working fine last night
I've got a 2009 MBP that has been working totally fine, I was using it last night and all was well. I closed the lid, went to bed, then came out this morning to a computer that wouldn't turn on. No light on the charging cable, no response from the power button, nothing. I then plugged my MBP into another charger from my wife's MBP-- nothing. Any help would be very much appreciated!
If you push the little battery test button on the side of the computer (About the battery indicator lights on MacBook...), what does it show you?
You can try Resetting the System Management Controller, but you will most likely have to take the machine in to a service place for testing/repair. -
hi. my ipod touch i guess finished updating. and now when it trys to turn on, a blue screen comes up and then the blue screen changes to a white one. and i cant do anything to it. also it own connect to itunes. help pls
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My BB won't turn on the red light flashes and the key's light up
Hi
I have read all posts relating to my problem, but one thing my BB won't do is resgister on my computer. The phone will not turn on, has the red light flashing and the keys light up, but the screen will not come on. I have tried taking the battery out, charging it all night, all the recommended/ideas from this sight, but no joy. I have only had this phone since July last year. I haven't been able to try updating phone etc as it won't register on my or my husbands computer please help
LouiseHi,
The way you presented it made me think it had just happened.
So you have had the phone since July has it ever worked?
Most likely you are missing some or all of your device OS and you'll need to reload the device.
Because the phone can't generate enough signal you will have to "force detect it". I've attached the link below. If you want to proceed I'll need what version of Device OS and what version of desktop manager software.
Thanks,
Bifocals

MBP won't turn on (sleep indicator light is flashing)
I just bought a new MBP. I was downloading from my USB stick when the laptop suddenly died. It won't turn on now. When I press the power button, the sleep indicator starts flashing incessantly.
I tried the stand technique of taking out the battery, removing the AC plug, and holding down the power button for 5 seconds. Nothing.
Any ideas?I'm having this same problem. I'm an alaskan, so my view of heat may be skewed, but my laptop was sitting in the car for about 30 minutes here in montana - I really hope the heat didn't damage my brand-spanking new MBP )-:
I have a built-to-order MBP with 2GBs RAM, boring old high-quality apple standard RAM, so I don't think that's the problem ^^/ -
Well it won't turn on despite the indicator lights all being green showing it has power!

Why does my Ipad 2 keep going black ahd back to the apple logo. It eventually goes to the home screen and allows me to try something else but after about 30 seconds it happens again. I have already rebooted several times?
Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings -
I don't know why but my computer will not turn on! Less than 6 months old!
If you have access to an Apple Store or other authorized Apple specialist with service department, you could take the computer in for diagnosis and repair under the AppleCare plan. Or the complementary coverage that comes with the computer if you did not buy the extended plan to add a few more years on the basic one. With the basic plan, you have 90-days support; if you bought the AppleCare extended plan, you have a total of three years support and service. Within the first year (from day of original purchase) you can buy the extended plan. Without it, a fee may be charged to test the computer. Or if there is an Apple Store with Genius bar, you could arrange to get an appointment there, and there should be no charge (in USA) to diagnose the problem.
You can get started online, by visiting Apple Support:
http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
Not sure what is wrong with the computer, but an expert could tell.
Also if you have an Apple Store nearby (or within reasonable distance) you could call ahead to set an appointment to talk to a Genius, and have them look into the issue(s) the computer may have. One determined to need repair under AppleCare can be handed off, there.
Did you have a backup method in place to save your work off the computer, such as TimeMachine and external hard drive? I mention this because a computer going into the shop for possible repair may lose its content, and the hard drive or other parts may have failed, so your saved stuff in there could be lost.
Hopefully they can get the problem solved.
Good luck & happy computing! -
Laptop wont turn on, the charger light wont come on either
I tried taking the batter out, nothing. Tried a different charger, nothing. Tried a different outlet, nothing. Please Help!!
Hello jmr2r9,
Your computer will not turn on.
Do you get any lights on the laptop?
What happen the last time that it worked?
Do a hard reset.
Power off the computer.
Remove the power cable and the battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed.
This should reset the hardware in the computer.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!
Let me know how everything goes.
Have a good day. -
