My mp4 movies freeze up while playing them in itunes

I have about 1000 mp4 movies in my itunes, but i find that alot of them are having a hard time playing. they tend to freeze up,the movies are anywhere from 900 MB to 4 GB, sometimes the audio keeps going and the picture stops. I tried playing them with my VLC player and they work no problem.
I wanted all these movies in my Itunes so i could watch them on my Apple TV, what good will this be if they won't play properly in my Itunes.
Is anyone else having these types of problems?
it seems the more content i put in my Itunes the worse it is responding.

i have just encoded one of the movies to M4v and it seems to play fine with this format.... make sense?

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Jerky Vioeo 4 few seconds and freeze it while play audio ok..

Thank all for ur input. The main problem is when I grab video clips from the desktop to the project window and play back on monitor of CS4, I get jerky video for few seconds and freeze it while playing audio perfectly up until to end of the clip. I have tried the same thing with APPro 1.5, the same thing has happened. When I play the SXS card thru Sony XDCAM EX1 on the Televion, I could not find any jerky video there. I have set the XDCAM EX1 and PProCS4 for PAL/HQ/1080i/25fps. Any other suggestions to try out.. Thx

I assume that the "desktop" is your C:/ drive and assume that is where you also run your Adobe application from.
Thats asking for exactly the issue you are experiencing.
PPRo needs multiple drives and setups to run correctly. Check the setup and specs required for the application.

Try it in another vehicle see if it still happens, at least you can narrow it down to your phone or the car. My 4s play totally fine, I have never had any of those issues. Maybe its time to restore your phone and start over. I would also have someone else play their Iphone in your car, see if it happens to them. Or try yours in someone elses car. Good Luck!

Audio cuts out at random while playing songs in itunes

While playing songs in itunes audio will frequently drop out completely across the entire system. The song will still be in play mode but the track progress indicator doesn't move. There's no slowdown or spinning beachballs, activity monitor doesn't indicate any processes hogging resources, and there are no other noticeable effects other than zero audio output. The problem resolves temporarily if I pause itunes then click the volume up/down keys and click play again. Any clue as to how I might resolve this annoying issue?

Hi. What OS X release? (10.x.?) iTunes? On this G4 1,25 single now connected I got 10.4.11 and iTunes 7.0.2 Works fine.

Shadow--hey thanks for the reply. No all the songs are in C drive on my computer. I do have an external drive as backup (Sync-Toy) but all my songs are on C. I was thinking of trying to delete ITUNES and Quiktime and reinstall. Do you think that would work? Jeff

Songs are corrupt on iPad while playing fine in iTunes

Dear community,
I have a problem with some musical pieces on my iPad2 and my iPhone5. Some songs simply won't play to the end. I play them on iTunes on the Mac and they play fine. I play them from the harddisk on the Mac and they play fine. But on the iPhone and iPad they stop before the song ends. This seems randomly for different songs on the iPhone and the iPad.
Could there be a faulty memory or such a thing?
I have both searched the community and the web and found other users with the same problem but without ever finding a solution. Is there one?

Sound stops while playing music with iTunes Match

While playing music from iTunes Match, the sound stops. The music continues to play but there is no sound. If I double click the song, the sound will start again. But after that song is finished and it advances to the next song. The sound will stop again and I have to double click the song again. Other sounds on my MB-Air will still work. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks

It happens to me too. I listen the most on my iPhone. Song is playing, but no sound. Sometimes I have to close the app and relaunch to recover. Very annoying.

Have my songs in my ipod, but can't play them from iTunes

recently imorted songs from CDs are in my ipod and, of course, listed in the library of iTunes, but when I try to play them usin iTunes, I am required "locate it because the original file cannot be found", although I can play those songs from my iPod without any problem. It wasn't like that before, so I guess I have changed something in iTunes setting or something like that.
Any ideas?

You may have accidentally moved your iTunes Music Folder. Do a search on your computer and when you locate it, put it back in My Documents>My Music>iTunes. If you don't keep your music in the iTunes folder but some other then you need to locate that one and put it back to it's original position.

Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime...

I do have an external HD with at least 3T of movies but can not play them at all play them at all they are AVI movies what should i to to play them please help me out

Your intuition is correct. Download a free download of VLC player, and you may end up using it as your default video player. (It's faster and more versatile than QTPlayer.)
When you install it on your MacBook, it willl allow you to view media on your external HD.
