My netflix isn't working on my MacBook Pro. I tried 3 different browsers and it won't work on any of them. It said I have to update my Adobe player, which I did, but it still won't work.

My netflix won't play on my computer. At first it wouldn't work in Safari and it gave me a redirect failure (too many redirects). Then I tried it in Chrome and it won't work in there. It work for a few days in Firefox and now that doesn't work either. I have a MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. I just updated because I thought that would help. I tried clearing my history/cache but that didn't work. Do I have a Mac version of a virus? Help! What is wrong?
Also, I noticed when I log into my computer with my password when I first turn my computer on, The password box is slightly off center the first time, then I type my password, then it comes up again looking centered like it's supposed to. What is happening???

Ditto. Guest accounts shouldn't have a password. No way to enter one in System Prefs...

Fb games tell me to update adobe flash so i did, but they still say to update

facebook games along with youtube tells me to update my adobe flash player so i did. it sayed successful but fb and youtube still say for me to update?? also i looked under all programs and i cant find the flash player. the only thing adobe i can find is adobe reader!!! am i doing something wrong. my operating system is vista and i am running internet explorer!!! please help me!! thank u soo much

i have vista and was using ie 8 but i went ahead and downloaded the vista pack 2 and then updated my internet explorer to ie 9. and that seems to have solved the problem as of right now! although when i first tried to open songpop on fb it did tell me to update adobe but then it went ahead and loaded the game. so not really sure what that is about but i think ill just leave it alone for now and see how things go. if u do have any info u think would help please feel free to let me know. i am really bad with computers and appriciate any help!! thank u!!

Bought a MacBook Pro for granddaughter for college and she cannot access the app store to purchase apps needed for class. Always gets security questions that she did not set up and therefore she is denied access. But it does show her redeemable balance.

What can she do?

If she has trouble with the first advisor, she can always ask to speak to a senior advisor. However, AppleCare isn't really needed in cases like this, as the iTunes Store is quite familiar with accounts of this nature, and it's more of their speciality. Your daughter may want to contact them next time, but it's only email support at the moment (soon to change).

Recent Pages update isn't recognized on my MacBook Pro. Tried to open a document I created and I get a message that says I need to update to newer version to open that document. How do I reload the latest update for Pages in Maverick?

After updates to Pages and several other applications I received an update to Mavericks 10.9, all of which were downloaded and uploaded to my MacBook Pro. After the uploads I created a document in Pages which I saved to my folder. Now when I try to open it I get a message that says I need the latest version of Pages to open this document. What do I need to do to reload the last update to Pages so I can open my document?

In both cases you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Judging from sterling r's response Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Why does safari not work on my MacBook pro when I close it and forget to quit safari?

So I'll close my MacBook with safari "X"ed out but not quit. When I open my MacBook up about an hour or so later, I'll click on safari mad it doesn't load... It's not that big of a deal, it's just annoying to have to restart my computer every time I want to go on safari.

Try resetting Safari. From the Safari menu select "Reset Safari..." and check at least the two boxes "close all Safari windows" and "remove all website data".
Quit Safari from the Safari menu.
Hold a Shift key as you launch Safari again from the Dock.

Do you get sound from the internal speakers? If you hold down the opt/alt key and click the speaker icon on the menu bar, what options do you have under 'Output Device'? Look into the headphone socket, can you see a red light?

My external monitor and MacBook Pro screen turn different colours and freeze while in use - only restarting the computer will refresh the display. Is there a way this can be fixed? It is happening more and more frequently.

The monitor is Philips brand and works perfectly fine usually. Every now and again it will happen mid-use and I have to constantly re-start my laptop.

The F7 key should also toggle between extended desktop and mirroring. If you open the lid on the PB, you should see that the F7 key is imprinted with two overlapping rectangles. That's supposed to represent the mirroring function and pressing the key should toggle the function (unless you had previously turned off the function keys).

My Blue Yeti mic won't work on my MacBook Pro?

I was looking through the posts on here and the only solution I could find was to reinstall Lion, so I did, but it still doesn't work. Everytime I plug the mic in it says, "USB device requires too much power." Does anyone know how to fix this? I just bought the mic. I tried calling the Blue mic costumer service but no one answers.

Yes, I too had this problem.
I was issued an update from Apple for a new version software as well as a new version of Lightrooom and now it shows up on the desktop and in finder as it should.
MacBook Pro Retina running 10.8.2 (12C54)
Lightroom running 4.1

I got some more info that may help.
I put a cd on my laptop, and was able to share it to my computer... So the problem is only from my computer to my laptop. I tried the firewall thing and it did not help. I read the rest of the trouble shooting page, and nothing else applies. iTunes is an execption and already was. I can not think of anything else being my problem. Do you think I should re-install iTunes or would that be a waste of time? At this point I am about to just call Apple for some help because I am getting to stressed over this.

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.
