My Nokia 72 keeps hanging

My Nokia E72 keeps hanging to the extent that I have to remove the battery and restart the phone, before the phone can work.
What can I do to sort this problem out.
Any permanent solution please

It could be a firmware issue, but I don't typically see this problem on my E73. If the problem is caused by one more software programs you've installed, there may not be a magic fix.
Are you typically doing the same thing every time it hangs? What software is installed? What software is typically running all the time (like an IM program)? Do you store an excessive number of SMS or email messages? What's the longest time you've waited for the phone to recover on its own?
And do you use a password to lock your phone? I noticed some unexpected lockups recently after a few web browser crashes. Disabling and later re-enabling the password lock seems to have corrected this...but who knows why?

you need to perform a master reset on your phone since the normal reset wont do it. but be mindful that when you do master reset, it will delete all of the contents of your phone memory so backup your data first on the comp and use ovi suite, visit these website for assistance on backup https://www.nokia.co.uk/ovisuite and click on how to. then once the backup is finish, dial these code on your phone *#7370# and lock code is 12345. it will get rid off that error message and then restore your backup file again from the ovi suite.

N8 keeps hanging up when in use???

Sad ending and minus one customer for Nokia...
Sent my N8 to Nokia Care Center here a week ago and described the problem and was told the sensor was "too sensitive", guys let me get this straight once and for all... it's the other way around!! If it's too sensitive, the sensor wouldn't have a problem detecting our face/skin if is further apart. This is because it's not too sensitive its having trouble detecting our face/skin when we move a few inches away from the sensor...
Back to my case, when I sent it over, the customer rep said it would only take a few days but up until today, which is a week I have to go over to the center myself to find out what is going on and now they're telling me they need to change the motherboard!!!??? And I have to wait about a month for the motherboard to arrive!!! What?? Just bought 2 weeks, had a problem and they're tinkering with my new set??? How would you guys feel??
Fine, so i asked for a replacement set since this is a major defect on Nokia's side, not mine... but to my surprise they said the set is "warranted" and not "guaranteed" thus they can't give me a replacement!!! Is this true dear Nokia??? Or is it just here in Malaysia??
Really angry and frustrated, I asked back for my set without having to be repaired and went back to the shop which I bought it and traded in with iPhone4!! So long Nokia!! Will not even think about buying your phone again!! Ever!!

Please help! Safari keeps hanging/not responding and freezes everything else up.

I've got a mid-2009 MacBook Pro running OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and Safari (5.1.9) keeps hanging/crashing. I'm afraid I'm not very good with these things so I'll just have to tell the story...
It's happening when I start up Safari, either the home page (Google) doesn't fully load and the pinwheel appears, or it loads but as soon as I try to search or use bookmarks the pinwheel appears. I'm unable to quit Safari, open or close Finder or any software, and it won't shut down normally either. I've tried using Cmd-Option-Esc to Force Quit but the pinwheel appears again and nothing happens. The only option left is to do a hard shut down. After repeating this 5 or 6 times it eventually lets me use Safari, but will almost always hang again unexpectedly at some point during the day. I know this isn't the best way to deal with it but I don't know what else to do!
I'm sorry if this question has already been asked and answered, but because I don't have an error report I don't know whether my issue is the same and don't want to start messing with things when I'm not sure what I'm doing. Thanks in advance for your help!
P.S. The unexpected hanging and freezing started while I was running Leopard and an older version of Safari. I tried to back up and reinstall the OS but my optical disk drive wouldn't read the disk, so I had to take it to an Apple store where they couldn't find anything wrong but installed Snow Leopard and hoped that fixed the problem. It didn't, and it's since started happening on start up, as described above.

Open Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then click Verify Disk.
If the disk needs repairing, you will need to use the install disc(s) that came with your Mac.

Brand new iMAC keeps hanging

Hi All
I received my brand new iMAC today - having never had a MAC anything before - decided to switch as fed up of hanging, viruses etc on PCs and also need more multimedia options.
Have set it all up it keeps hanging - for no reason i click on force quit and sometimes it will and sometimes it won't even do that - I am totally confused it has done it to me on MAC Office, iCalc, i photos, i tunes etc etc
Do i have a dud machine am i doing something wrong???? Please help.

Welcome to the forum. Chances are you don't have a dud. In case you haven't read the manual I would recommend doing so before playing with your machine, you will be surprised what you learn.
Also when you mention the machine is hanging please describe with a little more detail so we can understand exactly what you mean.
You are covered by 90 days for free telephone support, if the problem persists take advantage of the support and give Apple a call. In the rare event you did get a dud they will replace the machine within 14 days of purchase.
Last IMHO it is a good idea to get AppleCare, this gives you 3 years of phone support and an additional 2 years of warranty. You can find it online (Amazon for example) for less than Apple charges.

My mac mini keeps hanging

hi everyone, newbie here, bought a mac mini solo cos i loved its looks and functions. however, a couple of moths later, the darn thing keeps hanging on me. its very frustrating! can anyone advise, cos i dont know what's wrong. thought it was overheating, so put it on its side, turned on air-con, but its still hanging very often.
any help is apprciated! thanks.

how long have you had the mac before it started doing this ?
certainly a reinstall wont hurt, i would do that and then see.
best to copy all your documents / music ect to your ipod and then do a complete re-install without saving any files, just incase.
if it solves it, great.
If not at least you have eliminated software issues, then best call apple and see if they will sort it out for you, or take it to your local apple store and see the guys at the bar

Why my itunes keep hang on syncing backup?

I had tried all troubleshoot but i still having trouble with my itunes.
I cant sign in to Itune store & when I tried to sync it keep hang on part 2 ( backing up )

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Problems with new Zen firmware. Device keeps hang

I currently am facing some problems with my zen. I have used the zen for 2 mths without problems. When I recently updated the firmware, my zen keeps hanging and it turns on with dim lighting. It is unable to turn on or off and i need to do a reset in order for it to work. Can someone help? My battery keeps draining out while I sleep.

Hi,I have upgraded? my firmware again and the problem seems to have stopped. However, there is a problem with viewing xvid files now. I have compress the files to 320x240 and copied them into the player and it was playing fine. After I upgraded the firmware, I get an error that the format is not supported??

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again.

Help -- OS X keeps hanging

Hi guys,
One of my accounts keeps hanging on me when I try to do certain things (like open a pdf document or open any of hte MS office apps), and I have to restart the whole computer. I was told it is a software problem. I have tried updating my software, and the problem seems worse than ever; in the past I could wait 5 minutes for word to load, but now it just refuses to load.
Any suggestions?

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, and enter ~/Library/Preferences/ as the folder's location. Select the plists for those applications, and then drag them to the desktop. If the system works properly without them, drag them to the Trash and empty it.
How do I transfer all my files and preferences here?
To transfer over your files, move them to the /Users/Shared/ folder, and then log in from the new account. Drag them from the /Users/Shared/ folder to your current account's home folder while holding down the Option key. You should not move over your preferences until you've isolated which file or files is responsible for your issues, as it may cause the same problem to occur in the new account.

Nokia n8 hang - battery removal query - plz help

Whenever the nokia n8 hangs, will I have to remove the battery everytime with a screw driver ?. if it is so won't it be irritating ?

You should give more information when posting as to make it clear what it is you are after, and this is also in the wrong section. This should be in the N-Series board.
If you are asking for help, then you may consider using the Nokia Software Updater, as upgrading software can often cure hanging phones.
You can find this at the
Nokia Software Update page.
Be careful to backup your info first though, as this may erase your personal data.

CS6 PC, AME keeps hanging. 3 dif. projects on 2 dif. computer. Cant output from mpg2 files to mpg2-dvd ntsc. Can't "match seq settings" in ame also.-hangs at dif points each time.
Too much to get into right now as i am wayyyy behind now.
Are there any known issues with ame cs6?
