My phone is not listed on the itunes device sidebar when I plug in with the usb cord ... cant figure out why.... did just update macbook pro to snow leopard though?
My iphone is not listed as a device in the itunes side bar after i plug in to usb port? It used to show up fine - only change I think is that I upgraded macbook pro to snow leopard? Any ideas of what I might need to do?

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts. my time machine doesnt show up in the finder and ive done the checkboxes in the finder preferences and ive restarted in safeboot. i still cant figure out why it wont show up

I'm using a macbook pro, running snow leopard. Yesterday I got around to emptying my trash for the first time in quite awhile and was surprised by how much there seemed to be in there. Immediately after a question mark symbol appeared on all my hard disk folders. If I click on these question marks I get a message saying ' the item can't be found'.

Not sure where these hard disk folders are located that you are referring to? Finder, Finder tool bar, Finder side bar, Desktop, Dock?
More then likely they are an alias that not longer point to the orginals, thus the question mark.
I would reboot. Delete icons if an alias and just recreate by dragging from the source. Try right click (control) click to remove. -
I have a couple of questions? 1. I recently updated my old '04 macbook pro to snow leopard 10.6.8, when I went to open an old word doc., it opened with iwork and will not allow me to print until I update to iwork'08. Do I have to update? If I do, is this an update or do I have to purchase iwork? 2. Can I update my old '04 macbook pro to Lion or Mountain Lion or is this too much? I just purchased and iphone 5 but do not know if Snow Leopard can give me the future updates I might need?? Also does icloud work with Snow Leopard? Thanks for help, I am lost...
Try resetting your SMC and NVRAM before attempting to install again.

Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…

Turn on the computer by pressing the Power Button.
On the built-in keyboard, press and hold the Command (⌘), Option (⌥), P, and R keys before the gray screen appears.
Continue to hold down the keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.
Release the keys on the built-in keyboard.

I have a macbook pro running snow leopard. Just recently I cannot view youtube videos and other online videos. I recently updated my flashplayer plugin and I believe that is the problem. Is the latest flashplayer plugin compatible with 10.6.8? If this is so, I need to find an older flash player plugin to reinstall. I do not want to upgrade from 10.6.8 at this time because I have 18 yrs. worth of financial records on Quicken that I have read will not work with Lion and I've read bad things about running music programs on Maverick.

We are having old home movies put on DVD's. How do we import them to MacBook pro using Snow Leopard and iMovie 8.0.6? Can watch the movies on the laptop, but they will not import.
We took 3 video cassette 8mm that were recorded in the early 90's to a place that burned the videos onto 3 DVDs. When inserted to our Mac, the DVD player comes on to play the DVD. Opened Quicktime, but can find no way to import. Went to File>Open File>Sony_DVD_Recorder_Volume. Clicked on Sony_DVD-Recorder_Volume and it shows a file named VIDEO_TS. Clicked on that and 6 files showed VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_01-0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS-01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB. Where is DVDxDV?

I have an iphone 4 which quit working and I had my iphone 3 reactivated until I get my 4 replaced or fixed. My computer does not recognize my iphone 3 when I plug it in. I also cannot figure out how to apply my last backup to my iphone 3
If your iPhone 4 was running iOS 5, you can't install iOS 5 on an iPhone 3G which means you can't restore the 3G from the backup of the iPhone 4 running iOS 5.

I upgraded the operating system on my MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Lion via the web. Now I need to erase the hard drive and restore it to factory settings, so that I can pass it on. How do I accomplish this? When I insert the Mac OS X install disk, the only option is to erase the free space. Any insight would be appreciated.

Once you are running off of the DVD you will be able to do a clean install of SL
To boot off the DVD with the system up running Lion insert the DVD. Open Sytem Preferences->Startup Disk and select the DVD then restart the machine.

I used to be able to just plug in my phone with the USB cable to my Windows 7 computer and browse phone storage with no issues. Now my computer sees it as an android phone but when it tries to automatically install the drivers for my phone on the computer, i get an access denied error message. No option on the phone that i can see that allows me to mount phone as a usb drive. This used to work just fine with nothing more than just hooking up the cable. What gives??
Let's get that access granted again, e_rock_b. The HTC DNA doesn't have a special USB Mass Storage Mode that needs to be turned on. Usually, it's as simple as connecting and browsing http://vz.to/1jktbZD as you mentioned. If your computer is no longer allowing that easy access, try the steps at http://vz.to/1jktvr6.

I have two indentical macbooks(unibody) but for some reason only one will read the mini to vga. the screen turns blue but nothing shows up. When i plug the other macbook up everything works fine. I work at a club and i need the vga to work at one club and the hdmi to work at the other.
