My phone says I am connected to wifi in settings, but phone shows 3G connection

My settings say that I am connected to my home Wi-Fi network, but I still have 3g connection on my phone.  My iPhone would automatically connect at home until yesterday when this problem occurred.  I have turned off the iPhone, turned off wifi and turned it back on, disconnected to my network and reconnected with my password, and nothing will work.  In Settings, under Wi-Fi, it is ON, then there is a checkmark by my network name, followed by the padlock symbol and the wifi bars that show a strong connection.  But at the top of my phone by the AT&T logo, it still says 3G, and I know it is 3G because I have tried to do some things that require wifi and an error pops up and says that I'm not connected.  How do I fix this to get my iPhone to connect back to my home wifi network?

I would also try resetting Network Settings on the phone.  Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.  Phone will automatically reboot.  Then you can try to reconnect to the WiFi network again.
