MY PRINTER WILL NOT STOP PRINTING

I have a brand new HP 309a wireless printer.  I am using it with a USB PORT.   I downloaded something from a PDF file and the printer will not stop printing.  I rebooted the computer, I disconnected the printer for an hour and when I turned it on it resumed   I hit the cancel button, the display reads "print cancelled" and then it reads "now printing."  When I attempt to use the printer to print something else it reads "busy."  HELP.

  • C4580. Will not stop printing.

I have a very big problem with my printer. It will not stop printing once I send a print job to it (regardless of the program in windows, or whether it is a test page etc). I have had this problem since new and have been unable to use the printer properly since I first bought it.
The problem is as follows - whenever I print, the printer just keeps churning out and printing the same page time after time after time. I have to manually cancel the job. I have reinstalled and reset the printer 3 or 4 times now with no effect. Even when I do the very initial print test on photo paper (and put one sheet in), it prints but then says it is out of paper (as I delibrately only put one sheet in the tray). This is driving me bonkers. I have spoken to HP support on this several times. I have wasted countless paper and half the ink cartridges - and this is just to TRY and setup the printer! Madness.
This is NOT a printer problem but something wrong with the driver/software. The reason being this:
    - I do NOT have this problem if I print to the C4580 using the generic HP 6500 driver (this is what HP recommended when they were helping me). However, I do not want to use this driver as it defeats the object of having an all-in-one and being able to scan); and
    -  If I do a test print from the printer (as opposed to on my computer), it only prints one page.
Also, this does not seem to be a corrupt print spooler as I have stopped and restarted this several times.
Advice please, otherwise I am sending this back to HP and claiming damages.
    Thanks
    Elliot

I have the exact same issue. Have you managed to figure out a fix?

  • Printer LJ 1022n will not stop printing

Installed with lj-1018-1020-1022 HB-Win64-en on a new W7 64 bit machine on a ethernet network.  The printer printed the Windows test page and when I tried to print a document it would not stop and I stopped by canceling it in the print que.  Printer works quite well on a XP network.

    Hey Henry,
Try following the steps in the document linked below.  Let me know if it is able to get your printing to return to normal.

  • The printer does not stop printing

I have set up my printer (HP Color LaserJet CP1215) to my airport extreme; I have succeed to print to my printer. But the printer keep printing the same pages, and it prints continuously. Anybody know why this can be happened?

Hello hhartono. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
I assume that you have this printer connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) ... correct? If so, does the AirPort Utility recognize it as the exact printer model?
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at this iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link.
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help:
o Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if the printer you are interested in is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

  • Officejet Pro K850 Will Not Stop Printing An Alignment Page

    Hi Everyone,
I hadn't used my K850 printer for about 6 months so when I needed to print something with it I ran the the print head cleaning option first.  I needed to run it up through all three levels in order to get them clean.  After that just for good measure I ran the head alignment utility.  The problem occured during the alignment.  For some reason it won't complete the alignment process.
No matter what I tried the printer keeps printing the alignment pattern continuously using only the black and yellow inks. Even if I shut it down, Remove the cord and restart it, after it goes through the start up sequence it starts right in printing the same page with the same two inks.
I managed to interrupt it long enough to install the latest firmware but still the problem remains.  In addition this happens wether or not it is connected to my computer so I am assuming the problem is in the printer not the driver.
Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
    Thanks

But It keeps on doing this.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? There are documents online for many models showing how to clean the rollers and take other steps to address false (or real) out of paper indications.

  • HP 8600 Printer Will not see printer when scanning.

I am using an HP 8600 Printer.  It is connected to my computer and prints just fine.  I am also able to scan from my computer.  However, when I go to the printer and select "scan" then "computers" my computer is not listed.  I never had a problem with it until now.  I can from my computer scan a document, but not from the printer itself.  Why is that and why will the printer not list my computer.  It does not make any sense!

No the other computer is running Widows 7.  The one I am having a problem with is running Vista.  It worked before and now it doesn't.  All items in Network Sharing Center and "On".  Next suggestion!  Thanks for all your help by the way.  I don't know what else to try. : (

  • Since recent upgrade to win 8 from 7, HP printer will not accurately print from Photosmart 7.0.1. ?

Is there an update to correct this?

Seems like your question would be better in an HP forum than Adobe.  Photosmart is of course not an Adobe product.  Have you checked the HP site for driver updates for your particular set of hardware?
You haven't been very specific; perhaps if you provide more info about specifically what you have and what you're seeing go wrong someone will be able to help you better.
I don't have a suggestion for you beyond that, but this is for others considering Windows 8:  It's never good to upgrade to a brand new OS in the first weeks after its release.  An OS is more than just software from the manufacturer - it involves support from hardware vendors.  No matter how many preview versions the OS manufacturer has released, device driver perfection (printer, display, storage devices, motherboard) ALWAYS lags behind the OS release.
Right now apparently there are a number of known problems with Windows 8:
With display drivers (people not getting good GPU support with ATI cards in Normal and Advanced modes, for example).
    With printer drivers.
With storage drivers (I've heard of troubles with RAID controllers, for example).
In the professional realm there's an old adage, born from long experience:  Never upgrade to a new Windows version until Service Pack 1.
With Windows 8 there is the additional consideration (for those who haven't yet taken the plunge):  Carefully consider whether Windows 8 adds any return on investment (ROI) that you actually need.
Microsoft has taken off in a new non-pro direction with Windows 8 and has actually DEGRADED the desktop experience (presumably to try to herd us all over into the Metro/Modern realm).  It may be that the best idea would be to continue to use Windows 7 and wait until Windows 9 (or whatever they call the next release) to re-evaluate upgrade options.

  • Hp Laserjet 1012 Printer will not print

All of a sudden, my printer will not work. Maybe it has to do with the new Canon scanner I just bought and installed(?).
Anyways, did the usual (deleted all printers, downloaded and installed updated driver, added printer (verified on System Profiler), rebooted both Mac and Printer but no go.
Attempts to print then after 15 seconds or so "stops" in the queue.
I'm stumped because I can get the printer to work on my other Mac.
In advance, thanks for your input.

I would take a reconditioned product over a new replacement any day.  The reconditioned product has been verified to have a problem, taken apart by a technician, verified the defective part, replaced defective part (which will never fail again) and put back together and tested more extensively than a new unit.  New unit... put together by an assembly person, press self test and ship it out.

Could you please provide me the solution regarding this.

    Thanks Don.
when I verify the fiddler, on clicking the print icon in the viewer the aspx post back happens and refers to the url wrongly.  It is referring the virtual directory twice.
Ex. Actual url should be http://<servername>/<virtual directory>/<application directory>/report.aspx
    But it is calling as http://<servername>/<virtual directory>/<virtual directory>/<application directory>/report.aspx
This above url problem occurs only during activex printing post back.  This does not occur during exporting the report and report page navigation post back.

  • HT1338 my Epson R3000 will not load printer paper

Hi, my Epson R3000 will not load printing paper and say's there is communication error, has  any one had this problem? , thanks

Yes, 90% of the time I try to print something I get that error, and have been gettign that error for years, since the days of OS X Leopard. I have been pausing/resuming each printer to get it to start transferring files again, or, sometimes it won't work and I have to go through the wifi setup again, or unplug cat5 cable and plug it back in, or power cycle the printer if on USB.
I contacted Epson, and as you most likely know, they have no qualified personnel. They got me throuhg the obvious steps like removing the drivers, re-installing them (I actually did a find / -name "*epson*" and removed everything I found), rebooting the router (poor thing has nothing to do with it, it's working fine otherwise), swapping cat5 cables, usb cables.
I have 3 of these R3000 printers and they all exhibit the same issues. All of my other printers connected to the same computer/router/wifi do not exhibit this issue. I have Artisan 50 (usb), the 1400 (usb), and 3 Artisan 835s (wifi).
The things I hate most about  Epson and its printers are the following:
    - they come with 0 support form Epson. If you know what find . -name is, you're already more qualified than any CS rep that's going to answer
    - their drivers get updates very slowly for the OS X platform at least
    - only some older printers will how you # printed pages/ # pages remaining. The R3000 for example shows "spooling job, 3% complete". Very informative.
    - the printer driver for the R3000 creates some kind of proxy files that are HUGE in size, and it's done every time, for each page. It effectively takes 10 minutes to start printing 60 copies of 300DPI letter size photoshop designed files. The printer definitely doesn't have 5GB of RAM or temporary space to hold all that, so why not START FREAKING PRINTING while that stuff goes on in the background for subsequent pages? And if it's the same exact graphic, why doesn't the computer just simply send the first generated proxy file 60 times in a row rather than create 60 different proxy files?
    - all Epson printers I've ever played with will stop printing mid page when it thinks it's out of ink. This determination is done in the chip of the cartridge in combination with the printer firmware, not by actual reading of the ink levels. I would much prefer that the printer would continue to print that page and stop after. Less wasted paper, and the cartridges I throw out ALWAYS have enough ink in them to finish printing one silly page.
    - print quality doesn't change until you spend $500 or more on a printer (print heads are virtually the same type/size on all of Artisan printers for example), ignoring, of course, dye ink vs pigment ink
    - did I mention no qualified customer service personnel and complete disinterest in taking any customer feedback into consideration?
In conclusion, I am very sorry to let you know that I have yet to find a solution to this, and Epson has been ignoring it for years. If you do bump into something worthwhile though, please post it here.
    Thank you!

Epson 777i Printer will not print
I am using an imac with the Epson Stylus Color 777i printer,Gutenprint v5.2.3 and also the Epson 580 printer.
Yesterday the 777i stopped printing.  It is in the paused mode. I have replaced the ink cartridges and have tried to

The 580 printer is working with no problems.

  • An communication error occurred. Printing will be stopped

    Hello,
For some reason some of our users are getting the following error message when they try to print their reports from Infoview.
I searched the internet but was unable to find an appropriate answer to this query.
Could some one please help me with this.
    Here is the error
Crystal Reports Print Control (Printing is set to Active X)
An communication error occurred. Printing will be stopped.
Any help will be highly appereciated
    Regards
    Jehanzeb

Ok this one is a strange one.
When I press print button from direct browser it gives me the above error however when I press the  + sign which is on the right hand side of the window (that brings up a new window), it prints fine.
When I choose Active X for reporting, it prints fine.
I don't understand why is it not printing with the following options
    Select a default view format:
    Web (no downloading required)
    Web ActiveX (ActiveX required)
    Web Java (Java required)
    Select printing control (for Web):
    PDF (Adobe Acrobat required)
    ActiveX one-click printing (ActiveX required)
If the above is selected (selection shown in bold) under Infoview, it doesn't print.
However if I choose the following option in Crystal Infoviewer Preferences, it works
    Select a default view format:
    Web (no downloading required)
    Web ActiveX (ActiveX required)
    Web Java (Java required)
    Select printing control (for Web):
    PDF (Adobe Acrobat required)
    ActiveX one-click printing (ActiveX required)
This one after installing Active X, works fine.
What is the problem and how come suddenly it stopped working?
    I have no idea.
Anyone having the same issue with printing from Infoview?
Any help, advise, suggestion will be welcomed.
Oh and I have checked the ActiveX Addons under Internet Explorer and they are working fine.
