My rented movie is all white

my rented movie is all white and has no sound, only the subtitles. Can i cancel the download and start again?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

    I was watching a rented movie thru Apple TV and it stopped playing with a message that Apple TV was not connected to the internet. I check everything and it is fine. How can I restart a partially watched rented movie? All I can find is the option to rent it again.

    Yes you'll get charged.
    If you're in US you have 30 days to START watching but once you do you have 24 hours to watch - too short IMO.
    In UK you have 48 hours to watch after choosing play.
    Poor experience regardless - raise a query ticket via itunes store support or through your itunes account pages.

  • Rented movies don't go away???

    I have a 3G iPhone. I've rented more than a half dozen movies from iTunes and they all played just fine. The problem is that for some reason, three of the movies still show up on the iPhone. Two of them are the first two movies I ever rented months ago. The third is one of two movies I rented almost two months ago. On my iPhone, I go to "iPod"; then "Videos"; the art work for the three movies still shows up under "Rented Movies". All three movies show "Invalid" after the titles. The most recent movie has a "blue-dot" next to the name. When I click on any of these titles, I get a message "This movie could not be played". Does anyone know why some rented movies are getting stuck on my iPhone while other disappear just fine? More importantly, does anyone know how to get these things off my iPhone?

    Delete a video: In the videos list, swipe left or right over the video, then tap Delete.
    However, they should have gone away when they expired. Have you restarted or reset your phone lately? That can fix a lot of problems.
    Restart: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT1657 Rented movie does not download on Apple tv

    Dear apple. You've done it again. You ruined our movie night. Rented movie, got all ready to start watching. Now the movie does not download. Wrong on your Sid as Internet works (100Mbps) and other content/trailers download swiftly.
    I am extremely ****** of that this happened again. I have lost the past hour trying various things and now finding a way to get my money back.
    Please up your game.

    Thanks King_Penguin,
    The fact that I logged into an apple.com site fooled me to believe that this was a 'report a problem' site.
    I since found the 'report a problem' link.
    Wasn't easy to find (could not find it on my apple TV or iPad) had to:
    log into iTunes via laptop, and then
    click on iTunes Store (right top);
    click on account (quick link or at bottom);
    select "see all' next to purchase history;
    click on small arrow next to 'problem' purchase (movie rental for me);
    click on 'report a problem' (at bottom);
    click on 'report a problem again (now inside the purchase details)  - redirect to browse
    fill in details, and
    submit.
    As you can see quite a long process.
    The long process and my missed movie night were the frustrating parts.
    The reponse from Apple Customer Support was swift and extremely good - makes up for the frustration.

  • Never ever able to view a rented movie!

    Curious to know if I'm the only one using Windows that can never view a rented movie. All my full pay movies work fine, music, videos, everything except rented movies. Tried everything under the sun. Even working with an Apple representative still to no avail. I guess I should just throw in the towel.

    Hey I am in the same boat. Rented 5 movies for a trip. Get in the car to watch, and all I get is the apple screen. I am now waiting for an apple rep to contact me. Notice there is so many problems with the movie rentals they cant take the calls! I am able to watch tv shows fine.....music worked fine.....grrr!

  • I rented, then downloaded an iTunes movie and all I got was 92 minutes of white -- no audio, no video.   I'm stymied. Any clues out there?

    You can try deleting and re-downloading if you completed the full purchase.  If you are still having issues, go to http://reportaproblem.apple.com

  • HT200109 Why do all my other Apple devices not care if the movie I rented from iTunes if it was downloaded directly to that device or not, but the stupid Apple TV won't allow you to play rented movies unless you rented it directly from the Apple TV?

    Why do all my other Apple devices not care if the movie I rented from iTunes if it was downloaded directly to that device or not, but the stupid Apple TV won't allow you to play rented movies unless you rented it directly from the Apple TV?
    Great, so now I have to airplay it by linking my computer to my Apple TV and then the movie has to buffer! So, all that time I spent downloading the HD video has to technically "download" again by buffering. The more I use Apple TV, the more I feel like this item was not created by Apple. I don't even use it for what I originally purchased it for. If I would have known that anytime I wanted to sync a movie from my computer to Apple TV by using airplay that it would have to buffer the movie, I would have never ever ever ever ever purchased this waste of time device. So the video has to technically play all the way through one time first so Apple TV can "remember" the movie to play it back in real time afterwards.
    Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong that can be fixing my problem? I should have known that the Apple TV had so many things backwards when simple things like when you are using the remote and you reach the bottom of your list, in order to cycle back to the top of your list you have then press the directional buton back the other way rather than most modern day devices that will automatically cycle you back to the top or to the other side when you reached the bottom or end but keep on pressing the button. That **** annoys me when I am doing a search for a movie and have to type the name in manually and have to cycle back and forth to the letters. It makes me feel like I am using a rotary phone or something!

    I was told by someone to try and purchase something directly from my Apple TV and that will help authorize my Apple TV.  So I picked something that was free and it downloaded.
    Then I went back to the Movie that would not work and it played just fine.
    So it seemed to work.  I will have to try it on other movies and TV shows later.

    Hi,
    We have rolled out a fix for this issue.
    Please log off and log back in to your machine and the issue should be resolved automatically. In case that does not work, please manually run the msi installer posted here (may require reboot).
    For details, please refer to the KB article here: Multiple RunOnce keys created 11.0.10 and 10.1.13 Acrobat | Reader
    Please let us know if you still face any issues.

  • "Export audio to movie" produces an all-white video or other problematic issue.  Help.

    The latest Logic X update seems to have broken the "export audio to movie" function.  I need to re-import the movie file every time I want to export audio to movie or it results in an all-white video or a video that hangs up on a single frame.  Does anyone know a good work-around or fix?  I'm generally using video that is compressed in H264.  I also need to deliver at that same codec.  Not having to convert the original movie to a new format and then convert the version with music back to H264 again would be ideal.

    Now Logic's gone racist, jeeze... what next?
    Dang Clancy..... Now I have spilt coffee all over the floor!

  • Rented movies have floating green square spots all over screen

    We have a new Sony KDL-52W4100 connected to our v1 Apple TV via HDMI at 1080p. Cable images std and HD look great, DVD and Blueray look great, all functions of Apple TV (photos, intro, menus) look great. Rented TV shows and movies have large floating green squares all over screen. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
    This sounds like the file is either corrupt or there is an issue with output from the tv. Firstly, I wasn't aware that tv v 1 software supported 1080p, I suspect you are either running v 2 software or you don't have 1080p as an output resolution.
    I doubt all your rented movies have become corrupt so I'd be looking at your HDMI connection as the source of your problem, have you tried another cable, is it seated properly. You should also be aware that 1080p requirers a category 2 HDMI cable (although in many cases category 1 does suffice)

  • Rented movie not showing on all devices

    HELP!! I cannot see/find my rented movie on my imac or apple tv, yet it clearly shows on my imac itunes. all devices are authorised to share yet I cannot see it all on my macbook when i open itunes.
    When i open itunes store on macbook, it says the movie is already rented but where is it???
    beginning to dislike apple very much...
    any suggestion welcome.

    Is this QuickTime. If so, which it looks like to me, you
    friend will need QuickTime to play it and see the video.
    If you have Flash 8 or CS3 you can use the stand alone video
    encoder to create an FLV and then insert into Dreamweaver. This
    means the user will only need to have a Flash player instead of
    QuickTime. Either that or you;ll have to tell visitors to download
    QuickTime

  • New twist on the dreaded white screen when renting movies

    I have been hit with the nasty white screen after renting a movie. After reading the discussion forum, this is apparently a "personality" issue with ATV and Apple has not yet found a fix. However, after performing the "pull-the-plug" reboot, which in the past has corrected the problem, I now have a new problem. When the main menu appears after reboot, it is frozen and it does NOT respond to the remote. The only command it recognized was the menu + "-" reset command. When it resets and comes to the screen asking for restart, diagnostics, or factory reset choices, the remote works. But when you select restart and get back to the main menu, it freezes. (I ran diagnostics and ATV says it feels fine.) For some reason, a bug is preventing atv from recognizing any remote commands. Right now I am in the 24hr movie viewing window, and I will let that period elapse to see if the corrupted white screen rented movie just dies its deserving death and releases the main menu back to my command.
    I guess my ultimate ploy would be factory reset, but then aren't I put back in the position of re-syncing my 6,000 songs, and photo library?
    Anyone else have this glitch??

  • HT1430 How do I delete a movie or can I move it so I can download a RENTED movie?  I appreciate all of everyone's help

    How do delete a movie download or move it somewhere so I can download a RENTED movie?

    Thank you for the reply roaming gnome.
    Unfortunately, I already have "hidden" these purchases in the past. Despite "hiding" them, they still attempt to download to my computer automatically.
    Please note, I DID NOT PURCHASE this movie. A friend purchased it for me as a gift through iTunes.
    Again, thank you for the link to the Apple Support page, but that does not resolve my issue.
    Please see the attached screenshot for what I see when I go to Purchases > Movies. Nothing shows up - presumably because I already "hid" them in the past.
    Selecting "Not in My Library" under "Movies" has the same display. The movie I want to delete does not show up under "Music" "TV Shows" "Apps" or "Books," as well.
