My restore did not copy music to phone
I had to restore my 3GS and it appears everything came over fine except my music. What is the best way to get it to copy back to the phone?

When you select the iPhone in iTunes, you go to the Music tab, and you select what music you want to sync. You need to make sure those are selected before you sync.

What do you mean 'did not download' ? Are they new purchases that you've done on your phone ? Past purchases that you are trying to redownload ? Did you get any error messages when trying to download them ?
What you can redownload will show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone (music won't show there in all countries). If they are old purchases and not all music shows there then check to see if any are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If they are new purchases and they don't show in the Purchased tab then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

In converting from word docx to PDF headers abd pagination did not copy
When converting from docx.. to pdf, the header information with pagination did not copy/transfer.
Acrobat is NOT for server use. Look into LiveCycle PDF Generator, intended and licensed for server use.

What if you have a situation where Restore did not work. I do. The ipad mini says it is disabled, connect to itunes. When connected, it says that it is locked! I have tried using Recovery/Restore but after it completed, the ipad mini still malfunctions. It does not allow you to start the device. The slide image keeps dancing around the screen. The opening page keeps changing in size and the keyboard types on its own! What can be done to fix this????????
Maybe a reset would help, to be followed by trying the recovery again.
To reset, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then do the recovery.
If this doesn't solve it, I recommend visiting an Authorized Apple Service Center. -

I meant when they test a percentage of devices as part of quality control - to make sure that a particular batch of phones is defect free and market ready
The Call time is apparently the total time one spends talking on the phone between total resets and wipes

I backed up to my PC and attempted restore but I keep getting an error message that "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because not enough free space is available." I have a 32GB iPhone; only 13GB used!!! HELP! iCloud backup/restore did not work either! How can I resolve this problem to restore from back up.
If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades. -

Try syncing the iPhone to iTunes. If it doesn't appear, then log in to your account and check Purchased.

Your apps will only be where you put them. if you failed to put them on your computer beore updating, then they would certainly be gone.

I use an external HD (WD My Passport) to store my iPhoto photos. When I copied these up on another EHD (WD My Passport Ultra): thumbnails, and a lot of the photos did not copy (show "!"). Now 1st HD says its on a locked volume? Why?
Right before the coping finished (started with a 40 hour copy time (I know it's estimated), and with about 30 minutes left, a window popped up and said there was a name conflict between the two HD. Then it wrapped things up in a minute or so. We had formatted the new EHD for Mac. What happened?Oh my! Obviously, I don't know what I'm doing. But I do know that my goal was to do both---backup AND free some space. My iMAc is old (2006) and I upgraded it a year or so ago to Snow Leopard. Thank you so much for beng so prompt with your reply and patient with mine. I tried for so long to see the dialog box with the library listings. When I launched iPhoto, even with holding down the Option key, it kept immediately launching into the full screen. Finally, after an hour of doing it over and over again, it worked when I held the key down for 5 minutes. Then when I was typing my reply, I kept getting a message to "Request Time Out." Didn't know how to do that, so kept hitting the OK button and kept typing for another half minute. Finally, when ready to send, Safari couldn't do it. "Try again" exasperated me until I realized I would have to begin again and use Firefox. When I got there and ready to type, I got the message that my message had been retrienved and did I want to use it?!!
