All of the other programs are then affected the same way and you cannot even use the commands at the top of the screen becayse they all scroll to the bottom. After a while, the screen resets by itself. Help.

It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight.

Just to clarify this a little bit....
Pull the two ends of the keyboard together - into the middle of the screen. You can also tap and hold down on the little keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the keyboard and select - Dock and Merge.
If the keyboard is up on the middle of the screen, but not split, and you want to move it back to the bottom - tap and hold down on the little keyboard and icon and select - Dock
If you don't want this feature - You can turn the split keyboard off in Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>Off.

Nope, there is no second row. There should be a scroll arrow "button" at the bottom and the top of that drop-down to allow you scroll, or you can use the scroll wheel on the mouse scroll further down (or back up).

TV picture has a white line in the bottom and side

I connected the iTV to my TV via a DVI/HDMI converter. It is an older Pinoneer TV with only a old DVI jack. It plays fine but after a few minutes a very thin mostly white line appears at the bottom and side sometimes the top and side on the TV. If I turn it off and back on it goes away but only for a few minutes. Can I do anything to fix this?

I solved the problem last night. Since it took take a few minutes for the line to show up on the screen, we thought it might be the screen saver function on the TV. We turned off the TV picture rotation setting and it works perfectly now.

How do I remove the white space from the bottom and side of my document? (I'm not talking about printing, just viewing it on the screen.) There are about 6 inches of white space at the bottom and at the right hand side. I don't like this. On a blank new spreadsheet it's triple that amount of white space.

The infinite canvas convention doesn't make a lot of sense for Numbers. When I'm viewing a spreadsheet and mistakenly scroll into white, empty space I think, "this is ridiculous - all of my content is fits on one screen. there's nothing over there."
A (relatively) infinite canvas is logical for Microsft Excel because it's one big table. There are 256(?) columns by default and hundreds of rows on a sheet - there are cells outside what a user is looking at to see. However, when viewing a Numbers spreadsheet with a single 10 column 10 row table that fits on the screen, there's nothing else on it to scroll to.
Numbers should distinguish between viewing a spreadsheet and editing one. When I'm just viewing, when there's no content outside the window it shouldn't scroll there. This window behavior is beyond annoying for Numbers on my iPad and iPhone.
(Adding user-defined canvas size setting to my view mode / edit mode thinking would probably be the most complete solution to this now that I think about it.)
Until now the way scrolling worked in Numbers has defied logic. Actually it still does lol. That said, thank you Yellowbox for providing a clear explanation. Much appreciated.

I have a mac osx version 10.9.2. I used to have the student version of creative cloud cs6 earlier this year. I cancelled my subscription several months ago and bought cs5 two weeks ago. I never had any problems with the cloud. there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up. Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests. But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum. there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.

When you describe the "double" line are you talking about something like this?
If so this is only selecting an edge of a cell. You still have to select:
1) Line style using the menu to the right of the one I have circled (currently "Thin")
2) Line width using the menu to the right of the previous one and, finally,
3) the line color using the menu to the right of the previous one
Even so I have not found a way to copy cell border formatting so I ALWAYS wait until the very end to add border formatting.
