my iphone 5 is stuck on recovery mode and everytime i tried to restore it , it says that my phone have error -1, how can i fix it or should i send my phone to the appstore ?
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

After I was done listening to some music, I of course puller out the EarPods from the headphone jack. But then I noticed how the tip broke into 2, so half of the tip is stuck in the headphone jack. Since they were Apple EarPods, and I didn't inflict any damage to them, would I receive a free repair or replacement on my iPad?
Are you still under warranty? You're going to have a tough time convincing them it wasn't your fault they broke, I predict. In any case, someone else had a good idea on one of these types of threads: take it to an electronics shop as they probably deal with this situation quite frequently.

Use the headphone jack output and bluetooth at the same time
I am going to buy a blue-tooth headset for my 3GS.
Am I able to use the blue tooth mic and the headphone plug on the 3GS in the phone conversation?
Message was edited by: Winson IpNow I listen the music with the Ipod through headphone amplifier for better sound quality. The amplifier is plug into the dock port. I have to buy a bluetooth headset come with the 3.5mm jack. I want the sound output still from the headphone jack or line-out. The bluetooth headset work like a cordless mic. Also, the headphone amplifier still getting work.

How do I disable the headphone jack on a iMac?
Hey my headphone broke of when it was in the headphone jack on the iMac. I've been unsing a USB sound bar that works great but I'd like to use the iMac speakers. I know there's a way of disabling the headphone jack as the OS controls the hardware. I'm running Mac OS X 10.9.3. Could you guys please give me any suggestions? Thanks
You need to get the busted plug out of the headphone jack. Because there is a micro switch in-side the headphone jack that tells the MIDI setup to only send the sound out to the headphone jack.
Go to > Removing a broken headphone plug - Google Search or take it to your local AASP for service. -
How can I
Not possible, there is a physical switch inside the headphone port, when the headphone jack is plugged in the switch is open and disables the iPod speaker and Bluetooth networks. Cheers.

I bought a bluetooth Bose speaker so I could listen to music from my imac in multiple rooms at the same time. I wanted to use BOTH my existing speakers using the headphone jack and add additional bluetooth speakers in other rooms, but the imac wants me to pick one or the other, is there a way to have both?
I asked same question
Any answers -
I can't adjust the volume of the iPod Touch when it has nothing plugged into the headphones jack, but i can adjust it when i have earbuds or headphones or a speaker ;plugged into the iPod Touch
Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Insert/remove the the headphone plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem.:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem. Could be a bad headphone jack.

On our ipad the speaker has quit working. Sound is only heard when you have head phones plugged in. We have reset the system three times cleaned out the headphone jack. Changed languages and rest but nothing works. This ipad is important to our daughter it is her tool to communicate with us and now it is not working please help
You've done well with troubleshooting so far. Next step would be to back up and then restore from iTunes. Good luck!

The end part of the earpods broke off, and now part of it is in the headphone jack of my MacBook Pro. The piece of the earpod in the headphone jack is too small and short to just grab it with my finger. I need help please!!!! Thank you to whoever responds.
There is no good way to get it out.
I have successfully used a dental pick kind of tool to extract one. It took a great amount of fiddling, so you must be in a very patient mood.
Others suggest the risky use of a blob of crazy glue to cement a "puller" onto the broken end. The risk, of course, is that if you get any on the jack, you are doomed.
The guys at the genius Bar will sometimes try to get them out. No charge. -
the sound do not come out the headphones sometimes altho its all the way up in the setting and when i remove the headphones the sound doesnt come from the internal speaker either and only a reboot fixes the problem and thats annoying! any idea how tto fix this?
Hello. I've been able to play sound without problems through headphones or external speakers to date - the output always switched to these automatically until today. Now, sound output continues through internal speakers even if I plug in headphones or external speakers.
- I tested the headphones and speakers on other devices: they work fine.
- When I plug in headphones or speakers into the audio output port (I have verified that I'm not using the input jack) the devices are not detected and are not listed under the output tab in system preferences-sound.
I concluded from this that I probably had a problem with the audio port, so to test that I tried the following. I plugged a powered multi-USB device with ports for microphone line-in and headphone line-out into the USB port and switched it on. I verified that it was working by plugging a USB stick into the multi-USB device - this was recognised successfully, so the device was clearly working. I then plugged in headphones and speakers into the audio line-out on the multi USB device - but still no sound came through them (and tey were not listed among output devices) and the Mac continued using internal speakers.
What should I do? Does the latter test suggest that the problem does not lie with the audio port, or is my test not conclusive? What would you advise?
Many thanks indeed!
