MySQL/PHP error Help

when trying to login to my database i get a Code 404 error, file not found reasons:
1.There is no testing server running on the server machine. (if i take out the testing server check box on the site server management area then i get an unknown error)
     2. The testing server specifyed for this site does not map to the http://....../public_html/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verrify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wronge?

You cannot test PHP/MySQL commands without a testing server.  Are you sure you DON'T have one defined for this site?

I've worked through the Adobe tutorial, "Developing a web
    application with
    Dreamweaver"
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/develop_web_application.html).
Everything works fine until I get to the final step of
    testing the Record
Insert form be submitting data. When I click the Insert
    record button
instead of going to the View page I get these errors for each
    form field:

The warnings appear on the form page above the page itself.
When I connected the database to the site the test worked.
Here are the first 8 lines of code:

    $theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ?

  • Can't connect PHP/MySQL 404 error

Wow, the learning curve is killing me. Yet another challenge. I'm using Dreamweaver CC and this tutorial http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_php.html
    I'm at this step:
Open comments.php. You must have a PHP page open in the Document window to create a MySQL connection.
In the Databases panel (choose Window > Databases), click the Plus button on the panel and select MySQL Connection. The MySQL Connection dialog box appears.
Type connTest as the connection name.
For the MySQL Server, type localhost. If you are using the MAMP default ports on a Mac, use localhost:8889.
For the User Name, type phptestuser.
Type the password you chose for the phptestuser account in the Password field.
For the Database, type php_test.Note: You don't need to precede the underscore with a backslash here. It was inserted by phpMyAdmin in the previous section (see Figure 20) only because phpMyAdmin uses a query that permits wildcard characters.
Click Test.Dreamweaver attempts to connect to the database. If the connection fails, do the following:
Double-check the server name, user name, and password.
Check the settings for the folder Dreamweaver uses to process dynamic pages (see Specifying a Testing Server for Dreamweaver).
Verify that the web and MySQL servers are both running.
Temporarily disable any firewall or security program. If the connection works, you need to configure the security program to permit communication between Dreamweaver and MySQL.
Click OK. The new connection appears in the Databases panel.
Expand the connTest connection, and then expand the Tables branch. You'll see the comments table in the database, which you can expand to reveal the details of the table columns (see Figure 23).
As far as I can tell I have followed this tutorial to the letter.
As far as I can tell, XAMPP/php mySQL are all running fine, the files are in the correct place and everything should be working. However when I hit test I get a 404 error. (Same error when I hit the select button.)
The suggested problems on the 404 message are:
    1. There is no testing server running on the server machine.
Pretty sure the testing server is running. Is there any way to test this, other than to note that xampp is definitely running right now and that I can log into phpMYadmin no problem?
    2. The testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://localhost/php_test/_MMServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.
Ummm...I'm pretty sure I put things where I was told to put them in the tutorial, but I'm lost at this point where I should verify what. A clue here? The files are where they are supposed to be, but maybe I entered something wrong? Except...I'm not sure what that could be or where to find it. Whatever IT is.
Everything in local files is looking good.
    Thanks for your help!
PS: Extra points to anyone who figures out how to make copy/pasteable error messages! These buggers are the bane of my life!

    Bgupta, you rock!
I hope you have copied the "mysql.php" and "MMHTTPDB.php" files from "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\locale\Configuration\Connections\Scripts\PHP_MySQL\_mmDBScripts" to "C:\xampp\htdocs\phptest\_mmServerScripts"
This was EXACTLY the problem. I checked the tutorial and I couldn't even find where the tutorial said to do this. (If I missed it, let me know where in the tutorial it was, please.)
    Fixed!

I have downloaded MAMP for Mac and want to use it for working with Wordpress. I'm on an Imac with Maverick OS 10.9. I had mysql installed before this and would like to uninstall it and use MAMP. It was easy to turn off Apache and PHP but don't know how to uninstall mysql. Please help!!

It depends on how you installed it. You have to shutdown the MySQL service first. If you used the standard, but obsolete Startup Item, you can do that with the Startup Item. If you created a launchd script, you can do it with launchctl. Once MySQL is no longer running, you can delete the Startup Item or launchd script and the rest of MySQL.

  • Mediawiki, mysql, php? problems [SOLVED]

On Sunday my Arch install that is hosted by Slicehost became unresponsive to them so they had to do an emergency reboot. After it came back up my install of mediawiki was (and still is) only returning a blank page (at least in Firefox). After some digging I found out that part of the problem was that mysqld wasn't starting so I managed to get that fixed by commenting out the lines relating to innodb and putting in skip-innodb into my.cnf. But I'm still getting a blank page.
According to Mediawiki's manual, "A blank white page indicates a PHP error which isn't being printed to the screen." They give two lines to put into LocalSettings.php to force error messages but after doing that I'm still getting a blank page. Changing display_errors in php.ini to ON didn't have any effect.  When I load the wiki in Safari I get the following error: "Got java.io.EOFException (Server closed connection while sending the HTTP header.): http://some_url.com/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page". I have no idea what this error means and googling java.io.EOFException doesn't bring up anything very helpful. My PHP Test Page indicates that PHP is up and running.
Any ideas on fixes or where I can find more clues?
    [EDIT]
Mysql was definitely the root of the problems with Mediawiki. I tried nearly every suggestion listed in the forums for fixing a mysql install that wouldn't start but nothing worked. I even completely uninstalled mysql and reinstalled it but it still refused to start. I switched over to postgresql and switched mediawiki to run with that. Problem solved.

There are some other things that must be done to connect to
    the database
(such as passing the usernamee, password, and host info to
    mysql_connect()
and storing the connection resource), and those might be in
    the include
files. I generally place all of the connection parameters in
    a separate file
that is located in a folder that can't be accessed by a
    browser, for
    security purposes.

  • Third party contact form widgets no longer working with upgrade - PHP errors

PHP seems to be even more screwed up with the latest update/upgrade to Muse.  The previous upgrade started producing the following error message when I uploaded my site via FTP:
"1 Warning - Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct."
However, everything worked and in participating in some queries here, it seemed to be an oddity versus anything serious (things still worked but an error message popped up for no real discernible reason)
Since the latest update, however, widgets that I have from two different companies for the purpose of emailing me through the website, sending messages, etc, are no longer working and the following message is displayed upon hitting "submit"
" Form PHP script is missing from web server, or PHP is not configured correctly on your web hosting provider. Check if the form PHP script has been uploaded correctly, then contact your hosting provider about PHP configuration."
In checking with my web host provider, I was told
"the page appears to use the script form-u31652.php which does exist on the
    server.
Unfortunately that error is not specific enough to point us in the right
direction. PHP is indeed working on the server. However, looking at the
apache web server error logs I can see that the contact form appears to be
looking for a file that does not exist.
To trouble shoot this issue you will want to work with Muse to determine
why the sites coding is looking for the file
    /usr/home/NAME/public_html/WEBSITE.com/null."
Any ideas what this means and how to solve this would be great. I've tried re-uploading the entire website, figuring that maybe something wasn't being uploaded via "Modified Only" but it still is happening
    Thanks!

That isn't what ended up fixing it, Sanjit. Thanks to this article PHP FAQ for Muse Synchronized Text and help from an online representative from Adobe, was able to troubleshoot with my web provider. Turns out the problem was that a while back Muse deleted the fcgi-bin directory (probably during the previous upgrade, as that is when the PHP errors started to surface with me and others). And it was never put back by Muse even during a clean/full reupload of the website.  Had to have my web provider do it manually.

  • PHP errors not displaying

While editing my web page i noticed that when i have a PHP error on the site, firefox simply does not attempt to open the page. Like, if im on yahoo, and type in the pages URL, it will start loading it then stop and stay on yahoo (for example). Ive loaded firefox via another user profile and tried it in chrome as well and the error displays as wanted. Ive turned off all addons and extensions in my default user profile and still get the same issue.
I know that simply creating a new user profile will fix the issue, however i have a LOT of saved passwords, bookmarks, ect that id rather not start over with. Anyone have any ideas of an option that blocks this?

OK, I got it to work.
    I went to Help->Troubleshooting Information.
In the upper right corner, I clicked the Reset Firefox button.
When it came back up, the PHP error messages were finally being displayed from my test file. Some of the options (tab and toolbar settings, etc) were set back to defaults, but all my bookmarks were intact. Not sure about passwords and history, but I'd guess it's OK.
    Good luck.

  • Can't log php errors.

I installed php 5.2.5 per the instructions on this page:
    http://switch.richard5.net/isp-in-a-box-v2/installing-php-on-mac-os-x/
I've also installed Apache 2.2.8 and MySQL 5.1.24.
Everything seems to be working fine, except for one strange problem. I cannot log php errors.
I have edited my php.ini file so that
    error_log = "/Library/PHP5/logs/php_error.log"
... and I have set the permissions on the php_error.log file to 777.
I have created a test .php file with deliberate errors, but none of the errors show up in the php_error.log file. The test error I am using is "if ($undefinedvariable) { do something }"
No php error messages are showing up in Apache's log file.

I contacted Richard Valk, and he suggested checking where my installation of PHP expected the php.ini file to be, by creating a script file to run the phpinfo() command. I found out that my installation expected php.ini to be in /Library/PHP5/lib/, and it was actually in /etc/. I don't remember if I moved it there or what exactly.
I copied the php.ini file to /Library/PHP5/lib/, toggled Apache, and php error logging works now.
    Big thanks to Mr. Valk!

  • Inserting & uploading records with Dreamweaver CS3, MYSQL & PHP

I'm able to build a web page that allows for images to be
uploaded to a server folder. Also have a web page created to insert
info about the image into a MYSQL/PHP database.
My goal is to find a way to combine the two together so that
when you click the submit button... 1) the image gets uploaded to
the server folder, 2) the info about the image gets placed into the
database table, and 3) there is an entry in the database that
establishes the path to the image.
Any help or direction to a tutorial would be greatly
    appreciated.

I use a DW extension from DMXzone (Pure PHP Upload) that
allows me to both insert data form an online form into a MySQL
table as well as upload files to a directory on the server with one
button click. This might be a solution for you.

I have an hp office jet 4500 and os maverick 10.9.4 and I can’t get it to print after last upgrade, multiple malfunctions and error, help? I have tried deleting and resetting printer and re-installing update 6 times. Last update attempt showed none available??? I can’t load the software directly from HP because their only option is to use the software update option on the mac....frustrated!!! Help!!
I get blank pages that just run through the printer and a stats window that just 33% complete and goes no further.

I am going on the guess that an old driver is still installed...
Use Finder Go > go to folder, and go to /Library/Printers and delete the HP folder(s).
    Reset the Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Now, Add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.

This may sound crazy, but download any free app.  This often "shocks" the other apps into working.

  • HT6208 Cannot download the latest update 7.1.1 even though plugged in and on wifi keeps saying error help!!!!!

Cannot download the latest update 7.1.1 even though plugged in and on wifi keeps saying error help!!!!!

I am not getting an errr #. It just says that there are purchases on my ipod, not in my itunes. I transfer all of my ipod purchases into itunes. Then I try an download the new version of my ipod 7.1.1. It still says there are purchases on my ipod touch. So I just hit continue because their are not purchases on my ipod, that aren't in itunes. It extracts the software, and backs up ipod. Then itunes just closes. When I reopen it I get the same message A new iPod software version (7.1.1) is available for the iPod “My" iPodl”. Would you like to update your iPod now? My imac has recently been restored to as new, I have the newest ipod touch, and my version of itunes is also the newest version. The only thing that I can assume is that the problem, is another untested & bad update, from Capn Cook.

  • Apache/MySQL/PHP and Mountain Lion

I was about to buy Mountain Lion, but I just read by a reviewer that there is an issue with the webserver or websharing capabilities of it. The reviewer was saying he/she had to go into the terminal and launch it from there!
Is anybody else having issues with developing database driven sites on Mountain Lion, or are you getting on OK with it?
I currently use xammp as my apache/mysql/php server. Is anybody on Mountain Lion using xammp, if not, what equivalent are you using?
    Thanks.
    Mat

Starting Apache is very easy. Simply type the following into a terminal:
    sudo apachectl start
I think that they removed the tick box because it's so easy to do from terminal, and not something that most OSX users need.
As SnakEyez02 mentioned, using a package like MAMP or XAMPP doesn't require this. Those apps run their own Apache
