I get the following notice of failure after opening Server WIKI: 'A failure on the server has appeared when reading the settings'. I've no idea WHY, WHAT, HOW, and WHERE - is there somebody who can help me? Anything else is working.

Connection to the server failed appears when synching email through Microsoft Exchange.

The message, 'Connection to the server failed', appears when synching Groupwise email through Microsoft Exchange on my IPhone 4S. A long string of numbers and letters appears where INBOX should be. The downloading 'wheel' keeps spinning, and the battery is drained quickly as a result. I also get numerous no sender emails with the date 12/31/69 that cannot be deleted. Calendars also are not synching.The exact same settings work for my IPad2. The server works for other IPhone users. It is very strange and frustrating.

Images using absolute path on portlet server not appearing when gatewayed

I am gatewaying several applications via a Plumtree 5 Portal. Images in these applications when referenced using relative paths (../images/image.jpg) work. Images using absolute path (\applicationFolder\images\image.jpg). When gatewayed they are presented like this:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TS3899 the connection to server has failed

I have tried deleted the email accounts registered to both my phone and ipad and reinstalling them. I've also switched off both devices by the hard reset. I've deleted all of my mail and I am still getting this 'the connection to server has failed' when i go into the mail app, and when i try to send an email it doesnt allow me either. I am not a techie - what else can i do?

The symptoms described a a bit different than what you describe but the troubleshooting is relevant.
Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
If you're still unable to send or receive email, contact your email provider and verify the account settings are correct. You will need to gather this information (PDF).
Additional Information
Using more than one device to check the same POP email account may create a lock-out issue that is easily resolved.

How do you resolve "connection to server has failed" when you access your email.

Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad.
From yoyr home screen - Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Launch mail again and see of you can access your email.
If that doesn't work, turn mail off, restart your iPad, turn mail on again and try again. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Mail>Off. After you restart the iPad, follow that route back to turn mail on again.

I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.

This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.

Wiki file attachments - can the wiki be configured to link to a file already on the server rather than uploading it into the page?

Can the wiki be configured to link to a file already on the server rather than uploading it into the page? This would enable users to open (and edit) the original server hosted document rather than downloading a static copy that can't be edited and synced back into the wiki page.
As a workaround I've tried attaching an alias to a file but it doesn't work - the wiki instead uploads the aliased file.
From what I can work out, the default wiki behaviour is to upload a document to a wiki page, which creates a copy of the uploaded document in the wiki database. This copy has no connection to the original document. It can be downloaded and edited, but the edits are not saved back into the wiki hosted version of the document.
I'd like to be able to upload a link or alias to a document (with preview please!) already on the server. A user could then preview the document or click to open and edit it.
The only way I can do this at the moment is to create a link "afp://123.../doc.rtf" to the original. This is timeconsuming and confusing for non-technical users and doesn't offer the benefits of the attach function (ie document preview).
Is there any way the wiki can be configured to link to documents already on the server using the attach functionality?

An update for anyone in a similar situation.
Patch 3944727 for 9.0.4.1 that solves this issue: "USER LOV IASM11SHIP EDIT USER LOV SHOULD SHOW THE NICKNAME ATTRIBUTE." However, the patch is mutually exclusive with the latest CPU's and there's no plan to merge the pacthes given the dwindling support for 9.0.4.1. So that patch is pretty much worthless.
I've been told that this patch is included in newer portal versions, so the real solution is an upgrade.

I'm deploying a forms 10g application . I'm using Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 10.1.2.0.2 under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, along with an Oracle 10g Database on another server. Every time I try testing the form services using http://10.0.4.114:7778/forms/frmservlet it brings out the errorFRM-92101- There is a failure in the form server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration. Please look into the web server log file for detail
Right now, I'm a bit lost. Can anyone please tell me if there is some parameter I have to set, or something I should do to make it work?

I did not make changes to those files. The forms services are working on another server with Red hat Rel 4 and 3 . What I did is to configure a new server with Red Hat Rel 5 , took the backup of all the forms binaries and the HOME and restore on the new server. I did the same thing for a server running rel 4 and it has no issue:

HI to everyone, we are currently working oracle apps 12i custom module, our forms and reports are done completely in Forms/Reports database 10g. we are trying to run the reports using forms in apps(why it has got another history). cut the story short we are calling reports from Forms and we will call the forms in apps
the following code which i have used in 'WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSD'

Please has anybody find a solution to this problem:
FRM 92101: There was a failure in the forms server during startup. This could happen due to
invalid configuration. Please look into the web server log for details.
Suddenly my r12.1.1 on XP; Cygwin, MVS started giving the above error when i tried to open a form. I have ran autoconfig several times with a status of zero but the error persist.
See adformsctl status below

Learn't that the problem relate to a microsoft bug in respect of java pool. this is resolved by going to system registry via regedit
HKLM/SYSTEM/CURRENTCONTROLSYSTEM/CONTROL/SESSIONMANAGER/SUBSYSTEM - windows
Look for windows on the right and edit the binary file in the sharedsection. Look like the following:
%SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,3072,512 Windows=On
SubSystemType=Windows ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3
ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16
Changing the 512 to 1024 or delete it, save and exist.

Forms 10g: error FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during

AS10g (9.0.4.1) on windows 2000 with 2 GB of ram
We have an application with 10 - 15 users. Sometimes,when users exit from forms with the command exit_form, in a randomic way the form hangs with the error FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup.....
After the users have to close the browser and open another sessione of explorer.
In the same time other users work fine.
The problem happens more then 10 times a day.
Is there a solution ?

I have also run into similar problem.
In my case, this problem has been carried over from Forms 6i to Forms 10g. In forms 6i it wrote an error file in the same folder where *.fmx file was stored.
For 10gAS, look into <ORACLE_HOME midtier>\forms90\trace folder for a file *.trc. Open it up in notepad. It will tell you which trigger was being executed when the form failed.
Put any comment in the PL/SQL of that trigger, recompile the form and the problem will go away.
I usually put something like:
dummy statement for FRM-92101.
I do not know why it works but in my case it has.

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.
