N73 image sequence question

how do you adjust the sequence of image?
sometimes i get 2 consecutive shots, sometimes 4, 5 or 6 with luck.. i want to maintain it in 6 consecutive shots everytym i use it..

No. What you could do is have various states of the image sequence in
different states of an MSO. So. The first state would be the entire
sequence with buttons going to to the state(s) you want along with other
buttons to take you to first state and any others you'd want to navigate to.
I've done this myself and it sounds way more complicated than it is.

  • 4:2:2 and image sequence resolution question.

As I understand it, 4:2:2 is the best res to work with when compositing. If I pull a image sequence say from something other than 4:2:2, say DV, does the image sequence still maintain the res? Or since I am dealing with an image, .tiff, the res does not make a difference as long as the image is not compressed. Any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Ed

    Wolf359,
"4:2:2" denotes the luma/chroma channel compression.
Compression (image sampling quality) is independent of resolution (picture size). Those two variables together determine file size.
Check out these two sites for in-depth info on compression & video formats:

  • How to render a video from image sequence with custom frame rate?

    Dear all,
For a project i would like to create a video from 47 images with a custom frame rate. To achieve this i take the following steps in Photoshop CS6 extended:
    1) File -> Open...
    2) Select the first image and select " image sequence ". All images have the same size (1280 x 1261 px) and are numbered correctly.
    3) Click open
    4) Frame Rate: Custom 3 fps
    5) File -> Export -> Render Video... -> Render
    6) Play the video with VLC. The video shows a still image of the first image.
If i choose a frame rate of 10 fps, then there is no problem. VLC plays the video as expected.
Is there a other way to create a video from 47 images and choose a custom frame rate? Or what am i doing wrong?

  • Rendering very high-resolution image sequence

I'm in the process of rendering a very high-resolution image sequence (8k, 2:1 aspect ratio). Yes, in this case it really is necessary to render such a large image.
Not entirely surprisingly, I'm getting an error during rendering. "Unable to allocate space for an 8000x4000 pixel image buffer."
I have a relatively powerful machine (Mac Pro, 8 cores, 16gb ram, plenty of hard drive space)
How should I tune the memory settings for this process? Also, are there any "under the hood" tweaks that I can make in AE to optimize it for rendering these large files.
    Thanks!

We get questions like this often around here and I, too, will be interested by the destination for this rendering.
Such a mosaic cannot be displayed from a single device so it's not necessary at all to render it as a complete frame. If you are going to a digital signage system, there are workarounds for importing the source video that should be provided by the signage driver's mfr. If you're going out to several synced display systems, render them as individual movies.

  • Imported image sequence in PP CC 2014 causes animated layers to flicker

I have a project which has a primary layer formed of imported JPGs that are in sequence. These are shots from a time lapse and are sequentially named and imported without issue into Premier Pro. I then have a secondary layer with a simple After Effects composition that comprises a slow fade and animation of some title text. The problem I have is that during playback in PP (or once rendered) the animation of the text in the AA layer flickers. Watching it frame by frame in the preview window it is slowly fading in but each alternate frame it's opacity seems to go back one frame before advancing.
Now I can completely fix this by exporting the image sequence clip in my bin to a video file. If I then replace the image sequence with a video made using exactly the same images it works fine and the animation is perfectly smooth. My question is why does PP not treat the imported image sequence the same as a video with its interaction with other layers?

    Hi there.
Looking at the footage, you are exporting at 24P. There are books written on 24P and how to shoot (or edit) for it. What I see as a possible mistake.
You are moving the photo too fast across the screen. That could be the same as panning too fast in 24P. Same result. The video clips are moving much slower and don't show the staggering.
    Give it a try.

  • Is the tiff image sequence in premiere pro cs4 lossless?

is the tiff image sequence export in premiere pro cs4 lossless or lossy?

    Hi,
Yeah, that  IS an interesting question...When I looked into the quality exported individual frames I stuck it into photoshop and looked at the mode and image size to see what I was getting ...
I was kinda ( am still very ) impressed with the quality of the individual images Premiere exports in it's sequences.. and I suppose you could say it is lossless but in part that would be referenced to , " Lossless compared to what ? "
If I put TIFF images into the timeline to begin with and then got them out again, then it would probably be lossy depending on ppi going in. It's like 72 coming out.
But anyway, the quality is pretty darn good, I have to say...when you export TIFs...

  • Image Sequence Import

I am trying to open an image sequence with Quicktime Pro. I can open a sequence of 20,000 images, but I can't open a sequence that is 52,000 images. When I try to do this Quicktime just hangs and stops responding OR it opens as a player window with nothing in it.
Is there a limit to the number of images Quicktime can open as a sequence?
(the image sequence I am opening is a series of psd files rendered from an animation application).

This "limit" question came up once before and I think there is one but don't know the number.
Break up your sequence by moving some (one third) to other folders and join the 3 files into one by copy/paste.

  • QT 7 Pro - Open Image Sequence

Seems like this has been asked many times before but I have not found any answeres or resolution to this. Here is my version of the problem:
    Quicktime 7.6.6 Pro
    MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.8
I have about 8400 images that are named like Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-1400-PDT.jpg, where the date and time increments by two hours.
Quicktime will create an image sequence with the first 6 images following the one I selected. In some cases I can get it to do more frames, but it skips along the image sequence. It seems as though it is having trouble with the image names, and not understanding the order. Finder has no issues sorting the files correctly.
    So my questions are:
    Any workarounds?
Any newer version I can use?
Is this recognised as an actual bug by Apple?

Sorry I had to change the file names a bit for some security reasons. The N's represent alpha characters only.
If I select the first one, it uses the next 6 sequential frames and stops.
If I select NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0000-PDT.jpg, one time it loaded every 12th frame for a total of 24 frames, where only the date changed but the time remained the same. Another time it loads 12 frames sequentially, and duplcated the 12th frame as the 13th frame.
    NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-1243-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-1400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-1600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-1800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-2000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-08-2200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-0000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-0200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-0400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-0600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-0800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-1000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-1200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-1400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-1600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-1800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-2000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-09-2200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-0800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-1000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-1200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-1400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-1600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-1800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-2000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-10-2200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-0000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-0200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-0400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-0600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-0800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-1000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-1200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-1400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-1600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-1800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-2000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-11-2200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-0000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-0200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-0400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-0600-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-0800-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-1000-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-1200-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-1400-PDT.jpg, NN-Nnnnnnn-2011-08-12-1600-PDT.jpg, (and so on)
So these are real bugs. Does Apple ever reply in these forums or are we on our own?

  • How to merge 2 halves of an image contained within 2 separate folders + repeat (2 image sequences)?

I have two folders of image sequences. Folder 1 contains images for the left hand side of the frame. Folder 2 contains images for the right side of the frame. Each image in folder 1 pairs with a corrosponding image in folder 2 and I want to merge the two.
Is it possible to batch process the merging of these 'halves' into a third folder?

You're quite right Mylenium, ignorance of course is the answer to your question and I did exactly what you describe after a few more hours...converting the DNGs to Tiffs and opening as two image sequences each in a layer, with a Layer mask, and using Motion workspace to merge and preview.
Of course it worked better than an automated process as one side of the image needed repositioning by a line or two of pixels to make them line up perfectly.
The result is that I have a 3135 × 1333 (2.35:1 ratio) video which looks great. My only regret is that I now don't have the same latitude to grade in DaVinci Resolve that I had in DNG form - it would be ideal to open and merge as a DNG image sequence.
I'm grateful for your comments, it's been 10 years since I have used Photoshop and I have just signed up to Photoshop CC. I'm a camera operator / DP by trade. Excuse the basic question.
Best wishes and thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • How do you apply a black and white image sequence as an alpha layer to another image sequence

    I have a 3D render I'm compositing in AE CS3.
Everything is rendered as image sequences, and I have an alpha pass. How do I apply it to my master layer?

Nevermind. Todd Kopriva answered the question here:

  • How to create an animation with Image Sequence?

Im have Quicktime Pro and I want to make an animation. I tried selecting some pictures I have saved "random," but I could only select 1 at a time. So, Im thinking that making an Image Sequence is a separate operation from making it come alive? My question, how do I create an "image sequence?" Say I have a digital cam and I take 20 pictures? Thanks!

NEVERMIND!!!! I figured it out!! So once I have all the photos (ex: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...) in a folder, I open image sequence with photo 1 and then it automatically collects the other images! Got it! Im sorry!!

  • PDF image sequence only shows first frame

Does anyone else have a problem with this? I am trying to make a simple looping two-frame vector animation. Without converting to video or pixels (I need this to stay flexible), what are my options?
I've tried making the layers turn on and off with a square oscillation, but I can't figure out the correct speed for on-one-frame-off-the-next :/
    Any tips?

Changed it to four digits and nothing. Previewing the image sequence in the browser shows the second frame as flashing white :/

  • Importing multiple image sequences simultaneously

    Quick but pesky workflow question.
I'm often given a number of folders, each of which contains an image sequence (usually TIFF or DPX) representing a single clip. Usually the project starts by painstakingly importing the several dozen sequences by hand.
Is there any way to import all the sequences at once?

    You could also try this...
Put all of the sequences in one folder.
Then import the sequences into AE.
When you go to import, open the folder containing the sequences and select all the files, or at least one file from each sequence. (for me its easier to just hit "Ctrl + a" to select all of them)
Make sure to put a check next to the "Multiple Sequences" option and you're done!
After Effects will sort them all out for you(assuming each sequence has a unique base name)

  • Greenscreen issue - eporting as an image sequence?

    Hi folks!
I have this greenscreen shot whith VERY bad lighting. So in order to get decent keying, I decided to export my footage as an image sequence after using the primatte keyer for further correction in photoshop. (I have also tried the demo of DV matte blast). What happens is this:
When I import the the images into photoshop even those areas which were transparent in Motion are black in Photoshop which makes it almost impossible to do any retouching (the subject in questions wears black).
So what's my mistake and what settings do I have to chose when exporting from Motion?

    Thanx for your quick reply!
But actually it helped and created another problem:
I switched on the alpha layer in photoshop so I could see what was transparent in Motion, did some retouching and saved the image...
When I re-import the image sequence into Motion, then THERE is a lot of black where it was transparent originally... I tried messing with the interpret alpha function in Motion, but that didn't help either...
I still think I tick the wrong option somewhere either in Motion or in photoshop.

  • Image replicator question

I know with image replicator you can take a series of numbered JPGs for example, image001.jpg, image002.jpg, image003.jpg etc and group them into image[###].jpg so replicator can use them.
My question is about replicator using a MOV file: I know that replicator can do the same thing as above with frame1, frame2, frame3, frame4 for example and make four separate images on screen.
But my question is: can it take frame1, frame10, frame20, frame30 and make just four separate images on screen.
This is because I created a MOV file and the still images are 10 second duration each.
I hoped I explained this well?

Thanks.... the images would have to be a "frame" in length.
I looked at Save As...Quicktime Conversion->Image Sequence and saw you could put a parameter for 'frames per second' which could be a clue to solving this.
